R.Handy little freedom camping location near Cromwell. We were there on a Saturday night and it was so busy that it was near impossible to find a spot. Toilets were handy but not very nice. My husband said the men's were extremely dirty. Definitely BYO toilet paper. There are bins but they also fill up quick. The lake right next to it is handy for swimming and you can use the Lake Dunstan Free WiFi if you answer a short survey.
A.Pleasant spot with views of Northburn station on the other side of the river. Right on a cycle trail for easy access to Cromwell if you so desire. Flush toilets and rubbish bins useful.
V.Great freedom camping location! Has free WiFi and flush toilets. It's lake is one of the warmest in the region and we enjoyed our swim. Until the end of summer there is a water park at a cost of approx $40 for a 2 hour session.
K.So lucky to have the opportunity to be able to stay at these freedom camping spots, they are getting scarce. Plenty of room, rubbish bins and flushing toilets on site.
l.Awesome great place and it's Free thank you Otago Council. Day pass to the water park the best only $60, close to bike trails, shops and highlands motorsport. Lovely lady who work for Simonds with 2 cutey dogs appreciate your very good service...

I.It is such a beautiful place to wake up to. Alot of room for campervans and I feel very safe with alot of families here.
The toilets are a letdown no lights for at night and it isn't fully covered also runs out of toilet paper.
You have 3 small bins for rubbish which is why rubbish is on the ground.

M.Really big and nice place. It's quiet even though it's next to the highway.
Ducks here are really friendly and will love you if you give them any kind of lettuce (which is belly friendly unlike bread).
Just one thing: the bins get full really fast due to a lot of people so we had to take our trash elsewhere. Some people just leave it next to the bins, please don't so that. Take your trash elsewhere if the bins are full. Respect the place so we can continue to free camp.
P.Huge space with plenty of room for parking with a view of the lake. Basic toilets and free WiFi. Free to stay for 3 nights. Would highly recommend

N.A perfect place if you wanna free camp between Wanaka-Queenstown. View is fantastic also. They have toilet here, even it's not that clean during the summer, but heeeyy what do you expect, this place is gorgeous anyway.

K.We've stopped over on two different occasions here and its a great little spot. Thankyou Cromwell for being so accommodating. We didn't use the facilities as the campervan we hired is totally self contained but its so handy to Cromwell in a perfect location beside the water, and passing traffic wasn't too bad as it died down in the evening. Great spot.
M.Great camp site right beside the lake, clean toilets. You need to go down the road 500 MTRS or so for water and dump station. Busy on fine weekends with water park.But a nice stop over spot.

R.Great views and a fairly quiet campground. It can get a bi windy, but we didn't have too much trouble with it. The site was walking distance from quite a few wineries, but be sure to get there before 4 or 5 when they close.
T.Super exposed spot near main highway, wind funnels right down the lake here. Probably ok in better weather, but bit of road noise. Basic toilets. There are better places to camp.

A.Given its it's a free camp site, too find free wifi, toilets and recycling I think it's awesome. No water but that's fine. Can swim, fish and mountain bike safely. Road is noisy until 10/11pm iin summer.

Schöner Platz für Freedom Camping. Die besten Plätze gibt es direkt am Ufer. Da muss man aber auch etwas früher da sein. Ansonsten mega viel Platz, auch wenn man später kommt. Toiletten und Abfalleimer (!) vorhanden. Eine Bewertung vom Pylonier.
