Reviews of Wooing Tree Vineyard

Wooing Tree was such a great find! The lunch platters were so generous and so delicious- full of home made items. And the wines were tasty and not expensive. We loved the unique white Pinot Noir. The woman who served us was down to earth and friendly. Beautiful surroundings. Google maps didn’t know the entry is opposite Roberts lane.

Excellent service and a warm smile as we walked in for a Wine Tasting. The tasting was just $5 and we bought a couple of bottles which wiped off the tasting charges. Quite a variety of Wine was offered and an enthusiast would love it. Had a short walk around the property and went up to the Wooing Tree as well. 5/5 for this trip.

We loved our experience at Wooing Tree! We did a wine tasting first - the gentleman serving us was very friendly and knowledgeable. Then we enjoyed a glass of our favorite wine and a huge platter of meats, cheese, bread and other goodies. It was beyond delicious!! The patio is also very nice with a great view. We highly recommend visiting!

A fantastic location for a cellar door. Excellent, award winning wines served up by a passionate and knowledgeable team.
They also do super tasty platters that are a perfect fit wine a glass (or two) of your favorite Pinot.
They are part of the 4 barrels wine tour which is a region highlight!
And you MUST try their newest wine, Blondie & Co.

♿️✅ wide open doors in summer, easy flat surface all around the tasting room. Easy to take a seat at the tables, the counter wasn't too high either.
Wine tasting for $5 the people presenting the tastings had a decent knowledge of the vineyards and the flavour profiles of their wines.
Most wineries raved about the platter here but I never got to try it, the smoked salmon sounded amazing, they smoke it with their own old barrels!

Wooing tree is such a cute winery in the Central Otago region. We visited during a wine tour (Roaring Tours). This was our lunch stop, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. After sampling a few delicious Pinot and Rose wines, we were served the delicious platter lunch, pictured. This featured two delicious cheeses, which were among our favorites in New Zealand! and several high-quality meats. The picturesque location itself is worth a stop. I highly recommend it!

We stopped in for a tasting as we were passing and very glad we did. The very friendly and knowledgeable lady doing our tasting was clearly really passionate about the wines. We all found the wines delicious and look forward to another visit to enjoy a glass of blondie with a cheese board.

Barb was a great host. Very knowledgeable and a lovely soul. Tasty selection of wines to suit different pallets. My favourite was the Pinot Gris.
K.
good variety of wines for tasting, sparkling Blondie very noteworthy, bought Blondie and Blondie sparkling so very happy. Just note that the cost of a tasting - $15 per head - does not get taken off any purchases which did not get mentioned.

We had an amazing tasting on Friday. The wines were unique and super interesting - we really loved the weight of the partially-barelled Pinot Gris and the dessert wine. Our tasting host Kayla(?) was excellent, really fun and informative.
A.
Helpful and friendly hosts in tasting room. Luscious range of Pinot Noirs, especially Sandstorm Reserve

Beautiful winery with lovely staff.
It's awesome to taste wines (not too much) and also knowledgeable staff!
Every wine was explained in details and most of wine are silky (which is the reason I love Wooing tree) and delicious.
The new dessert wine was specifically amazing.

It's been more than a year since I've been there, still their Blondie wine stays in mind. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Don't miss out!
D.
Had a good wine tasting experience. Will come back again if there’s a chance to.
K.
Very welcoming staff and took us through the wine tasting process in quite a unique way. We ended up buying the dessert wine - tickled pink, which is a must try for all sweet lovers!
B.
Great wine tasting experience. The gentleman at the counter was very knowledgeable and recommended us the perfect wines.
I don't really drink wine prior to this but Wooing Tree changed my mind.
C.
Lovely wines and very friendly staff. $5pp for tasting, with 1x tasting cost taken off any purchase of 2 bottles.
K.
We had such a fantastic tasting at Wooing Tree. Charlie taught us about the local wine, was so friendly and answered all of the questions a group of uneducated wine enthusiasts could think of. Would absolutely recommend!!
L.
Disappointed with platter today. Three of us went for lunch but platter only for 2 had to decide what to add to feed us all. Not nearly enough for the price after such a beautiful one last year. A suggestion, could add a couple of meats as have chutney but all don't go with salmon . Also maybe add a couple of other options eg steak sandwich or burger. When time to pay we couldnt split the bill so left it to one person to pay. Not so good. Lovely setting and nice Rose but to take visitors would have to think again. A shame when we are locals.
H.
Great range of Pinot wines; Wooing Tree Pinot Noir and Tickled Pink are long time favourites. Their platters are nice too. Easily accessible location in Cromwell. We always pay a visit when around the area 😀
G.
Very good value for money tasting, 5 different wines for $5. Lovely setting by a pond and green surroundings, had an enjoyable time soaking up the sun in their outdoor seating area
R.
Wooing Tree is a traditional stop for us on our Central Otage trips. Great unpretentious tasting here. We always take a few bottles of the "Blondie" home.
