An independently run Art House Cinema next to the Dunedin Town Hall entrance. John the owner operator is always friendly to all patrons , the Cinema is very clean & heated in winter. A small Cinema only about 52 seats well worth a visit.

Beautiful cinema, comfortably cozy, great for a date night with the love of your life. The projectionist/front of house is very informative and considerate. Special rates for nursing staff an added bonus! Have been to this cinema twice and will definitely be going again. Top marks & Thank you!

We went to Sink or Swim on new year’s eve. Lovely experience at cute intimate wee theatre. A big thank you to John the manager at Metro Cinema in Dunedin. I had accidentally left something valuable on the floor of the cinema and wasn’t able to collect it before driving home from my holiday due to holiday hours and my departure time from Dunedin. When I emailed to enquire about it he got straight onto couriering it to my home address on the Coast & didn’t want to hear of me covering the costs of postage. Talk about above and beyond.

We sat in rhe back row and with an extra cushion where we had an unlimited view of the movie Pavarotti which was an insight into his family life, his years of voice training his opera singing his ability to express emotion and capacity for love. A delicious coffee was served.
