Perfect park for kids with a bit of everything. Well maintained, very well set out.

Good Place to spend time with family. Fish creeks, bird cages and turtles to look at. Duck pond to feed the ducks with bread. Amazing plants to view in the glass house. And lots of space to grave a picnic. Great for photos.

This park is such an asset to our community. Beautiful mature trees. Great cricket grounds. Plenty of handy parking spaces. Heaps of young families picnicing in lovely shady area's. Seating is well appointed and clean toilets available, suitable for wheelchair access. The very modern playground is really awesome for all age groups & includes a water park safe for toddlers but also fun for older children. Park includes a Japanese garden and greenhouse. I was really impressed.

What a most beautifully appointed Park, an oasis of sensory delights, from, quite shady contemplation, A Cricket pavilion, an avairy & animal enclosure, , Botanical Gardens, Duck pond, a fun-filled play-ground, with activities galore, to delight & entertain. A asset for Hastings City.

Lovely place to sit in the shade and have lunch. Ample parking, seats and tables available. Grounds are immaculate.

Our Grandies love this place, especially on a hot summer's day. The splash pad provides hours of endless cooling fun!!

Good revamp of the play ground. Kids loved it! Shame there were about 80 kids arrive just as we did for a school holiday program!

The Park grounds were looking tidy n well cared for. The children love the variety of playground equipment and paths that meander around. Also an area for aviaries .. cricket grounds. Plenty of parking.

Big dogs off leads. Owners with them. Makes park unsafe for dogs on leads & kids & people with disabilities. Always loved the park but wary now.

I have not been through this park recently,when I parked on road side my husband was unable to walk very good, so distance was very hard for him.we sit under the tree 🌴🌴 and have a cuppa and lunch.

Awesome playground for the kids. The gardens are awesome to walk around and the bird avaries are pretty neat too. Great place to picnic.

Park was fantastic kids loved it. The toilets on the other hand are disgusting, missing toilet seats urine all over floor and walls and locks not all working.

Beautiful walks amongst the trees, and rises. Kids lived the play grounds. Loved seeing wheelchair access for some rides, great opportunity to teach our kids more about inclusivity

Okay park but the playground was closed and the benches have a rough concrete back which is pretty uncomfortable. The plant house was good though. Park was tidy and clean.

Well the new playground is in and it is for the most part a great improvement over the dated old equipment. The bigger kids playground is well set up , though the water feature does tend to drift some mist over to the nearby equipment. Not to worry, it's just water. Moving over to the toddlers playground though, this is where things get weird. We start off with the yellow wheel. What is that.. wheel of fortune? but there's no clicker, it just spins. $70 $80 or $90. 40 50 or 60... spins? 10 20 or 30 sad faces? Are these points? Weird. Then we move on to the next spinny wheel thing. It's a marble game, that with some work I can finish, but I'm a 38 year old man. There's no way a toddler even has the dexterity to move this wheel fast enough get the marble in the right place, let alone the strength. The thing is HEAVY. Which means when a larger kid comes by, he can get that thing spinning REALLY fast. So now it's a spinning at 10000RPM, with those knobs that stick out I foresee some broken little fingers in someone's unfortunate future. Ok cool, so the wheel things are a bust. How about some puzzles. There's one with animals on the pieces, but .. you can't get some of them to stay where they should due to that physics pesky thing.. what's it called again? Oh yeah.. Gravity! There's one with some.. flowery? shapes. These have little cutouts that... also don't withstand the relentless forces of gravity, so it's impossible to complete the puzzle without having 4 arms to hold each piece in. My mini people found this most frustrating. Ok lets try something in a different area. What about these neat wheel things that stick out of the ground like flowers. One has a bee on it an makes a cute little clinking noise as it spins. My 1 year old LOVES this. I, on the other hand, do not LOVE this. These are inexplicably mounted with their centers about 1 meter off the ground?!? My little person at full stretch can't even reach the bottom of them. Guess who's left holding the baby.. LITERALLY. Ok stuff the puzzles and brain games. What about some good old fashioned spinning around. There's the round about. wait.. Why is that mounted half a meter off the ground too! Kids flying off roundabouts is as kiwi as pies, so now in the toddlers area, this thing guarantee's that when the aforementioned unplanned ejection happens, there's a good drop to guarantee an upset child. Ok.. what about a swing. Miss 3 wants to go in the swings by the slides. Great. Miss 1 can't yet hold on to them.. ok where's the baby's swing.... <_< >_> Oh.. there they are. A mere 70 meters walk to .. what looks like some leftovers from the soviet era. The chains are so short that one push lasts about 4 swings. The center pole wobbles so much the kids were genuinely scared of the thing. So we're doing swings in shifts. I'm about to impose martial law and declare the swings unsafe if only to keep my step count below a million.. Miss 3 needs the bathroom. Right.. At least this part should be straight forward. Found the bathroom. It's clean and simple, albeit somewhat industrial in design. Done.. Wash hands... No soap dispencer. ok, water it is. Dry... nope.. no hand drying facility. Not empty, not broken, just .. not. That's a pretty strange omission. Now, I don't want to sound like a whinger. It's definitely way better than the old one. The kids will successfully run themselves ragged, All in all it's a good spot.. it's just.. weird.

Awesome playground, loved the talking birds, stunning gardens, cute baby ducklings. So lucky if its a local, worth a going if your visiting.

Gorgeous park. Lovely gardens, a duck pond, and ample field space for sports. My husband and I enjoyed an after dinner stroll here on our date night.

It was amazing there were heaps of families down there all having birthdays our one of course was the best coz our baby was 1.

Beautiful park with vintage styled bridges over a little stream inhabited by ducks, birds and eels. The park has numerous activities and has picnic benches for parents to wait while the kids play.

Great facilities with lots of gardens a huge pool with fish & ducks & a great kids play area.

Lovely park nice time of year with the colours of the fall, not only can you feed the ducks the eels come too...

A great place for the whole family for the day. Bring a picnic or order a pizza and just chill. This park has an amazing playground for the kids and the facilities are clean.

Best playground in Hastings. Park is also super for discovery walks with the kids. Could really do with a regular coffee cart, as no shops or cafes that close.

Great place, hid some rocks, looked at the ducks, played on the playground, keep us all busy, if the sun was out we would have played in the water, that will be next time

Beautiful park. Awesome playground for the kids (and adults, cos why not?) Which included some water jets/fountains which the kids could run around in and cool down. Whole park has plenty of bench seating and rubbish bins. Lots of different areas, including a pond, indoor plant area, playground and chinese garden. Nice and quiet, open and relaxing.

A beautiful park with huge trees, fabulous playground. We watched some cricket, and the birds and loved the Chinese Garden. Only down to this is proximity to a busy road, spoils the tranquility of this special corner of the park.

Rebuilt playground the kids loved it. Active things and a puzzle that kept even the 4year old amused for sometime.

What an amazing park! Plenty of open space and a duck pond but the star is the fantastic playground. Kids could spend the whole day there there is such a variety of equipment to play on. Worth seeking out for a trip with the little ones.

Great for family, cricket and ducks. Now watching CD v ND, not sure which level. Nice and sunny but a cool n'or-easter wind, enough for a tasty, flighting, floating left-arm spinner bowling into it. Ah, those were the days.

Fantastic relaxing place to have a Sunday stroll. Great for kids with a playground out of this world. The aviary was well worth the visit too. Don't forget to take beard for the ducks. The cricket ground is so well kept and very picturesque

Cornwall park is one of the best places in Hastings in to have a day out and walk with the family... Very good places for photos...even post wedding shoot..there is a small birds cage with several types of birds in it .. Neat and tidy..

Cornwall Park is wonderful and very beautiful for all visitors. It's a special place for young and old and ducks too. We love it !❤

Cornwall was my favourite until i foundout i was odd i am trying 2say goodbye

Ducks were good. If you get a green coloured duck there skin gets crispy really well when you cook it with pork fat or lard. Some roast veges, YUM

It was nice and quiet and beautiful seen the birds

Parks ok, a few good things for the kids to play on and water feature get wet and cool off in sumner, nice mature trees with plenty of shade for picnics. Also a assortment of birds in cages to look at if you like that sort of thing. Plenty of room to kick a ball around or a game of cricket. A duck pond and gardens if you want a stroll. Just think the stream running through the park is the letdown.. needs a real good clean!

Excellent safe playground with lots of different equipment for all ages of children. A nice aviary with colorful birds (and turtles). The only let down is tropical house which only contains you could buy at your local supermarket.

SO IMPRESSED! Man they spent up large on this place! My kids loved it, cool slides, climbing structures, water play area, beautiful big trees, nice shaded places to picnic. Has toilets and drinking fountains, Also has this neat digital touch sensor multi player game thing, mum's s and Dad's can rule on this! , i bet my kids every time thanks to my long monkey arms.

Beautiful park.I adore the Japanese garden. My children adore the large playground and plenty of seats so I can watch them and we enjoy having picnics at Cornwall park.

Amazing facility with beautiful trees, gardens, playgrounds and water features. Great for a stroll at any time or take the children for a play on the new adventure playground. The tropical glasshouse has a range of rare and unusual plants.

Visited the Osmanthus Gardens lantern festival on a lovely autumn evening. Beautifully presented, the walk through the Chinese Garden perfectly celebrated the 40th anniversary of the link between Hastings, NZ, and Guilin, China. Cornwall Park is well worth a visit at any time.

A huge park with a freshly renovated kids water play area, and many trees which are perfect for climbing. Great place to bring your kids. There is also an Asian garden with seating areas, a greenhouse with some interesting plants, and a bird aviary. Something for everyone at Cornwall Park. Hosts many events as well.

We're from Auckland and googled playgrounds so our kids can play. We came here but they were in the process of building what looks like to be an amazing playground, so we didn't end up staying. However everything else looked great, lots if green space, trees, shade etc

Very fun up to date park. Some of the activities are for slightly older children as there is climbing and height involved (but safe). The splash pad is certainly a hit with all ages.

It can be popular during summer as it's a nice place to cool off as you have the trees to give you shade, they're in the process of building a new playground for kids and it looks awesome at the moment. Also if you have a dog, bear in mind some people do and dont have there dogs on the leash but overall it's an okay place to be

A great place, although there were alot of groups (holiday programs) there was ample space for everyone, also the avaires on site was enjoyed by our mokos. A beautiful Hawkes bay day made it for a great family day out.👍

Wonderful place for kids and all family

Fabulous place to take the kids, nice safe playground with unique concept. Also loved the enormous trees, abundance of well placed picnic tables, wide open lawns and the muscovy ducks were a rare treat to happen upon.

Clean facilities, amazing play equipment and splashpad foe the kids. Plenty of shade and seats. Tidy and clean. The weekly concert is definitely with checking out, something to suit all tastes. A great facility in Hastings

This park has so much potential. I was sad to see so much rubbish everywhere and we stood in dog poo which we didn't realise right away :( . The gutters where we parked were also full of rubbish. There is a great kids park and ducks to feed, nice areas to walk around and beautiful birds to see in a large caged area too - which was really awesome. It's just a shame it's not so tidy as I would love to take the kids here more.

The playground is a huge upgrade to what it used to be. The kids love it. The rubbish and some of the people that go there aren't so great though.

Have been going here for many years, when l was a child, than my kids & now my mokos.

Awesome park. Also has a splash pad and I find very safe for my kids. Also has toilets and plenty of seating.

Great place to seek refuge from the hot HB sun. Large trees provide good shade, with plenty of benches for an impromptu fish and chips lunch. A fantastic playground for the kids, includes a splash pad, so be sure to bring the toys too! Quite often you will find Mr Whippy here too.

Nice multi-purposed park. Lovely atmosphere. The multi-colored leave trees are everywhere and I fall in love with them. Can't take my eyes away of them! It is one of the best place to take portrait photos with yellow, orange, green, brown, and many more colors for your backgrounds.

A simple yet attractive park that I've visited often over many years. improvements over the last 15 years have removed some of its character, but it does like nicer, tidier and more modern as a result. good for the kids to play, or great just for a couple to stroll.

Wonderful update, lots of families out and enjoying the new playground, beautiful weather which was an extra bonus.

Enjoyed the entire park spent a few hours there for the opening of the new playground with the family. A nice clean park very relaxing and have been happy to return most weekends

The new acorn theme playground is a much needed facelift to our favourite park. The next thing to do is repairs and upgrades to the large pond!

It's a very tranquil place in the middle of hastings with a fabulous place to walk have a picnic fly a kite. Enjoy the birds in the hundreds of huge trees, feed the ducks in the pond,or sit on a park bench and watch the world go by .8 out 10 because it doesn't have a sea view.

Awesum park. Great place for picnic. Has water fountains kids can get squirted automatic. Duck ponds, cricket grounds, playground areas & heaps of shade 👍🤗 recommend Park 💯. Public toilets.

Just came here to feed the ducks.....otherwise it's a park

Found it very disappointing. I did a wedding here at the glass house, inside this was nice but outside the garden beds were bare and messy, some beds were half dead, weedy and very shocking considering Cornwall park use to be a beautiful park.

Yeah pretty good field and lil oriental garden ting. Ducks and geese went down well, recommend slow cooking for about a couple hours for best results UwU

Cornwall is a fantastic park there is an aviary, a playground, a splash pad, a greenhouse, picnic area decorated in Chinese style, and even a cricket field. It's a great place to add a bit of variety to your family excursion.

Good tidy peaceful park to relax around when having lunch break. Well looked after and busyness of the park helps it to be a safer environment for people to enjoy sometime out from the busyness of the city without being hassled from beggars like in town

It was a very good day today at CW park. We had Archie-Paige 4th bday party there. An eventful day had rain, sun, laughter, fun and games as well as the yummy bday cake. Great memories at CW park.

Nice place for children to keep them busy and contented. Plenty of spaces for kites ball games running etc etc.also great for adults. Many well kept tracks gardens trees .also has a avairy a botanical garden that can be viewed to fill a wet day but anytime is good.toilets near avairy areas.pond and varity of water fowl at diagonal end of Cornwall park.historical and good signage.

The coolest park ever, for the entire family. Why the rest of NZ does not have a playground like this is beyond comprehension.

Nice space, has a lot to offer. Japanese style garden walk, big new kids playground and small bird sanctuary by the corner of the park.

Restful park in Hastings with huge trees, Japanese garden, Begonia house and fun playground plus cricket ground.

Nice big park walk ya dog and run the kids! Avery to peek at ducks in pond playground and water park play for children. Has change rooms and toilets at pavilion area. My fav is the Chinese floating bridge and the tranquillity that comes with that section of Cornwall Park.

Nice garden, a little run down but otherwise a nice stroll around the park.

It's always a fab day and so relaxing. We have been going every Sunday it's on for years. We take cheese and wine and sit under the trees what more do you want x

Cornwall park is a staple of Hastings culture. It has many aspects well preserved by the Hastings District Council, and is always a worthwhile visit wirh family or friends. Attractions include a playground, duck pond, botanical garden, bird aviary and more... Absolutely worth an afternoon outing.

Its a lovely park and. I have fond memories of my playng there, on swings as a child . Then returning in 70's with my sons.. .

It's a great place to go and spend some time. They have ducks , a Chinese garden, a huge field to play on and a playground with splash pad for the kids

A great park have enjoyed going here since i was a child and spent a lot of my growing years playing here then when i had children i always brought them here to play , feed the ducks showing them the trees the ponds and stream the bird aviary and how when i was small that the daycare center was an ice cream parlour and these days i can take my grandchildren to experience cornwall park walking the many paths and watching them enjoy playing here and sometimes its just great to sit on ond of the many benches and enjoy the sun ghe birdlife and the peace and quiet.

Beautiful place to relax with friends or family with lunch. Good for kids , playground with small water feature for hot days and pond nearby to feed ducks

Good place to find painted rocks, nice playground and splash pad. We like to visit the Chinese gardens but are always disappointed with the amount of trash.

What a lovely playground, heaps of fun and well designed with kids in mind. Well worth calling in if in the area.

I've always loved the peaceful gardens and lofty trees, and the aviaries are well presented with plenty of plantings for the birds and turtles.

Great Park. Home of the Cornwall Cricket Club. Has a splash pad for kids to play in and get wet during hot summer days, gardens to walk in and space to play ball games.

Beautiful birds.. puts Napiers Botanical gardens to shame .. but not their fault .. some inconsiderate stupid people with no idea about captive birds survival in the wild released them to their doom.. what stupid people..

Just visit and you'll see why 5 stars is recommended if I can add a comment it would be that there needs to be a hand washing facility close to the Duck ponds.

It's a nice peaceful area in the town with beautiful old trees. Check out the Glasshouse,children's play area and the Aviary.

Really hidden gem of Hawke’s Bay region! Highly recommended to all. Enjoyed to watch and listen the parrots and walk beside the ducks on the pond!

This is an amazing park for kids with the water park the birds and feeding the ducks plus it has a Japanese garden.

Modernized play area is no comparison to the swing n slides of yester year that I use to play on.

I wish the Holt House had more variety of plants in it. The big specimen trees are fantastic.
