Reviews of Te Ahu
A.
Great library. We go there quite frequently for the books. It was nice and quiet for a change on our last visit. Some of the library staff seemed a little uptight and the couches were turned upside down, perhaps for cleaning.. It was almost as though the covid19 alert levels were above the current 2 at time of writing.

Te Ahu is a great community facility. The library is beautiful and peaceful. The museum is a good size for a quick trip and contains a variety of interesting displays. There is an isite for local information. There is also a movie theatre - a great community asset!

So after 2 years of living in Kaitaia we finally joined the library. Which has great facilities and very helpful staff. Coffee from there little Cafe smelt very inviting, maybe next time we might try it. Coffee and books go together so such a nice combo.

Awesome Pou tell the story of our people in a well designed space.
Friendly staff with a cool library and museum

I was attacked by a dog outside te ahu and the security were on scene within minutes tending to my wounds and taking statements, it's a very nice establishment too with a lovely library and museum as well as local events.

This is the best community centre I have ever been in. The library has a peaceful calm about it and may great books to browse. Ah, an enticing smell from the café! Three are many freshly made snacks and great coffee, too.
Most important, all the staff are friendly and approachable - smiles are everywhere you look!
As well as the library, there are many more things that make Te Ahu great. An excellent cinema showing the latest movies, intriguing artwork in the atrium, an art space for local artists to display their work, a souvenir and information centre, computers to use for free and also a museum.
Come see for yourself and enjoy.

Pros: It's fantastic that somewhere as small as Kaitaia gets to have the latest movies on the big screen. The seats are comfy and although the screen is not huge, it's a classic old-style cinema.
Cons: Between three visits, we found the majority of other patrons to be older women who seem blissfully unaware just how rude it is to chatter during a movie or to laugh at tense moments in a thriller.

Very nice place to learn the History, and few brochures and information to go around NZ
