The scenery is very nice. Being an inland beach, not directly on the sea, you don't have a lovely sandy beach, but the view out to the Island is serene. It is on the East Coast and what magnificent sunrises. You can stay up to three nights free if self contained, or avail yourself of a private caravan park for $5 - ask at the third house.

Neat spot, great we can take our horses 4 a swim 🐎

Taupiro reserve is such a beautiful peaceful beach that everyone enjoys whether it be, horse riding, walking your dog, spending time with family or enjoying time out in you campers. All I urge is to respect this reserve and the significance it holds for Maori, only ride your horses where you are allowed and pick up your horses poo.

Magical spot with a bit of everything... long grassy reserve ... Shady pine forest ... Harbour and estuary views ... And a safe beach for horse riding or getting your toes wet. Shallow enough for toddlers for at least 100metres out. Way too many campervanners for my liking but just shows what a magical spot it is.

Fabulous place for multiple family activities. Doggie off-lead heaven.

Great place for riding our horses. You can swim with your horse in the channel away from other swimmers. Dont forget to take your Poo bag and pick up any manure your horse leaves on the beach.

A free park over for self contained campervans un fortunatly there are some long caravans there that take up several carpark spots. Nice place, dog friendly so watch where you walk. Fishing best at high tide

Had a wonderful stay there recently. 3 lovely fine days. Special views out over the Harbour to Bowentown and Matakana Island.

Kiddies love it here...exploring the " Woods " & playing cricket on the grass + occasional swim at low tide...!!

Lovely place for a stop. No camping but nice place to stop. Views and toilet facilities

Great place to swim when tide coming in. Toilets there. Great place to have a walk and explore

Lovely flat scenic spot for a pleasant family picnic

Great place to go with the whole family. Very safe swimming for the kids, public toilets, dogs ok. Lots of different bird life there to study or watch feeding. You maybe lucky enough to see draught horses towing a cart. Worth the stop.

Great place to cool down in summer

Fabulous as usual. Wonderful place to walk along the beach with the dogs off lead.

Just gorgeous spot and great for picnicking and hopefully swimming when it warms up! Gorgeous sand spot so you can choose windward or leeward side to set up
