Very fun experience with quite friendly and interactive birds. Staff are just as friendly as the birds and they don’t even bite. Like a mini zoo just specialising in all kinds of exotic parrots.

We found that many of the birds were not hungry as we went later in the afternoon, so would suggest that you attend earlier if you want them to be interested in the food offered. The shop space is extremely cramped and hard to manage if trying to social distance. The kids enjoyed having the birds sit on them and interact, but I am not sure that I would say it is value for money. Beautiful birds, outside spaces well maintained.

Great place to look at birds or purchase birds and bird stuff. They have a great aviary area with some very friendly birds and hand feeding is allowed. Great place to take the kids to. Our Mac caw (Gemma) that we bought from there is great and very happy and very friendly and Talkative. Thanks

This is a highlighted attraction place in Keri Keri. It should be on visiting list. It costed $14 pp, make sure buying $2 food for bird. That lots of fun, some parrots say HELLO when people approaching. Parrots are very friendly when visitors feed them. This place should be suitable for whole family including small child. Of course, it is also suitable young couples having fun with animals.

Although it hard to see birds caged, this facility does it's best to give these creatures a good life. Most do get time out of their cages & to interact with the staff & customers. The facility is clean & birds well fed. There is a large variety of amazing parrot's with incredible colours. You can get really up close & personal. Some talk, asking for scratches. If you buy a little bowl of food you can feed some of the birds. Go on, I dare you to stick your finger in the cage!

We loved The Parrot Place. It was a gorgeous day with so many birds to see & plenty of interaction with them. Staff were really nice. Entry cost minimal totally worth it. They also have a pet shop, and playground for the kiddies. Definitely recommend a visit. Will be returning in summer.

Friendly well cared for birds that really like visitors. Loved the pink Corella that asks for a scratch, the blue ring neck that snuggled up to my son in the aviary and the birds at the entrance that will perch on your shoulders or head. Friendly staff. Not very big but plenty to see.

One of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. Very nice staff and very friendly parrots! Some of them just fly onto you whenever they want to! Not too expensive and overall just an awesome place. Highly recommend to visit if nearby.

Small but plenty of birds to see. Staff very good and knowledgeable. Birds are mostly ex pets so tame and plenty of opportunity to hold and feed them. Limited parking but street parking available. No toilet or cafe. Nearest are over the river near the stone house.

Very fun place to visit. Our kids love this place so much. Only issue is the car park is comparatively small and has a narrow driveway. We were driving a motorhome so it's quite difficult for us.

A wonderful place for birdlovers! Many different parrots and alike both "free" (clipped wings), in large cages and even two avieries where you can join the birds. You go through a shop full of pet-stuff to enter and you can buy a small/large cup of seeds etc. to feed the birds. But be careful, some are marked to bite! Most are happy to pick from your fingers though - some even talking to get a sunflower seed or get scratched (one even said "scratch" and leaned toward the mesh). Yes, you can buy some breeds that are hand-reared by the owners - but this is more a "miniature-zoo" than a pet-shop. We stayed 45-60mins and fed a lot of birds. :)

Parrot heaven. I really enjoyed my time here. It was fun feeding and interacting with all the birds. They have no Kiwi natives, but Australia, Africa, Asia, and South America are all represented. Biggest selection of bird toys and other parrot-phenalia I've seen as birds are often given the short shrift in pet stores. I came away with three unique toys for my budgies. I'm not giving it a 5 because it is a little cramped, including the parking and gift shop. I was also hoping to come away with some parrot souvenirs for myself (like socks, tea towels, etc) but they don't stock this.

GreT place to visit while in Kerikeri. Interactive experience with wildlife flying freely and sitting on your shoulders. One particular fella stayed with me for over 20 minutes and refused to dismount until staff intervened. This bird was very affectionate and friendly. Great experience for children too

It's basically an aviary in a private back yard. Yes, there's a variety of birds you can feed and interact with but they have very little space to actually "be birds".

Our recent wasn't the first visit to the Parrot Place. We love coming here when traveling through Kerikeri. Staff are always welcoming and will help you out with handling some colorful birds on your arrival. The option to feed birds really helps you connect with them, and children are always smitten with the ones that talk.

Walking into this place I thought that the experience for my children would be great fun. But I appear to be shown differently; thel immaculate staff telling us that we have to ask everyone for permission to take a video with them in the background. Staff telling us that we can't walk on the gravel with the birds and to keep on the concrete ground and then going to her staff friend and told us that "some people here are so 'inappropriate'." In short, it would've been better if the staff were more friendly and acted in a nice manner. Over all, the birds were beautiful and very colourful.

Cool place my kids 5 and 8 years old loved the friendly birds. I would've like to see clearer signage we didn't realised they had car parking so we parked down the street. Also a more info signs about the birds in the aviary. Be careful of the birds on the ground in the aviary

Fun for all the family. Make sure you grab some nuts from the reception to feed the birds! Huge variety and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If you run out of nuts keep your eyes peeled underneath the big parrots because they often drop them 😂 Loved it every time we’ve been 👍😎

We traveled over an hour to visit, only in search of a specific bird cage. When we arrived, we were so pleasantly surprised when we discovered the bird park. What an amazing experience. And we got a great deal on a great cage for our own birds. An overall great experience!

Fantastic place to visit!! Kids had a ball (as well as us parents). Down the end where the walk in aviaries were, we fell in love with Tiki - a very friendly blue ring neck that enjoyed head scratches and sidled up to my neck. Then we met Pom Pom a very friendly barraband parrot that plastered himself across my daughter's lips as she kissed and kissed him. Most of the birds were very tame, and they are all well cared for and the park is clean and tidy with lots of staff about. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing place, especially for kids. You can feed parrots or can hold them. Honestly did not expect to see so many different kind of parrots as here. Tips: come here on the morning so parrots will want to eat otherwise they will be filled and will not take food from you.

Second time we visit there and still amazing. We loved havign the birds on us and the friendly staffs really helped to enjoy the morning. We noticed the birds were much calmer in August, while this time, in summer, they seemed a bit agressive - staffs explained it's normal and related to the season. Small place but immensely fun. For a $10 you get entry and with some food for the parrots (was complimentary as the aviatory was under renovation. Boy it is fun feeding them. you can pay an extra few $s for a photo with the birds, out of the cage as well. I would imagine it will be a better experience once the renovation is complete. Definitely worth the visit if you are around the area.

The parrots are great and seem well looked after. You can feed them and some will fly to you which is really fun, we definitely had a good time. Unfortunately we did find one of the staff members quite rude and unhelpful. The staff member that greeted us didn't explain the zoo at all, or really want to talk about the birds. They also made some unpleasant comments about leaving the UK "because of all the immigrants" which my partner and I both found quite uncomfortable. The other staff member on duty was great, really informative and very friendly and helpful.

When you arrive it feels like you're just going to look at someone's back garden collection of aviaries, and it is like that to a degree, but it's a pretty good collection of very handsome bird, and once you're inside the large cages and birds are landing on your arms and shoulders and eating nuts and seeds from you (available when you arrive) it suddenly changes from sort of an odd place to a really fun place. Great if you have kids or like birds. Also has a nice little playground inside where parents can sit while the kids play.

This was an amazing experience for my daughter. The guy in charge was so patient with her as it took some time to build up the courage to let one of the bird's sit on her arm. I have been to KeriKeri many times before, so this was the first time I had actually been in the Parrot Place myself. Thoroughly recommended and a memory my daughter will never forget.

Friendly staff, friendly birds. All of the birds here look happy and healthy and you can see that this place cares about the birds. They've got educational signs about all of their birds, so if you aren't the avid bird expert quite yet, you can be. If you go there and love the birds that much, you can also buy birds here. I myself have bought a beautiful budgie for a quite low price. They sell cages, an abundance of bird toys and bird feed as well. My favourite place here is at the front where you have hold many kinds of birds, from a cockatiel to and eclectus. Overall i would highly recommend this for a great day out.

An enjoyable introduction to some parrots but a tad expensive and you have to donate extra to hold the larger birds. I was most disappointed they feed their Eclectus parrots seed when all the literature suggests fruits and vegetables as they are rainforest parrots and have a different digestive tract to the other Australian parrots.
