Cute little cinema. Nice if you don't want to be in a cinema with lots of other people. They also show a good mix of movies not just the latest blockbusters. You sit on a couch (which aren't as comfortable as you would think). Good sized screen and sound. Decent amount of snacks and drinks available too.

Pretty good overall but the seats in all theatres are to soft and not supportive for anything longer than an hour. You will find yourself wriggling around quite a bit to get comfortable. The screen and audio quality is about 3.5 out of 5 however I'm quite fussy.

My first visit. And wow! Super comfy chairs. Everywhere. The house announced a seating call for the movie. Followed by a sincere request to silence phones. Stuff Netflix if this is how going to the movies is going to be. A wonderful, memorable experience. Oh. Saw Belfast. Apparently it’s good, but I wouldn’t know cos I only woke up a few times and the good parts must been on while I was a asleep. No disrespect to those who endured The Troubles. Truly a sad time in history.

This is our go- to cinema whenever we want to watch a movie at the theater. We like how comfy the seats are, it's spaceous and it feels like we're watching a movie in the big screen at our lounge- that's how we feel every time.

Surprisingly good little botique cinema. No classic kind of cinema food i.e., popcorn, which takes away from the experience and sometimes upsets the kids, but comfy seating and if you get the smallest of their cinemas, quite a cosy place for date night!

The Light House Cinema Petone is a small boutique cinema located just off Jackson St in Petone. Spacious and comfortable couch-style seating in tidy and cozy cinemas. They screen most of the main stream movies and have a wide range of show times. Online booking a payment was very easy. Prices are a bit more than your average multiplex, but the small cinema sizes present a more personal experience without sacrificing sound or vision. I recommend you check it out for a movie sometime.

I'm a really big fan of the other Lighthouse cinema in Cuba Street but this one is a bit of a disappointment in comparison (or at least, my experience was). Ended up watching The French Dispatch which was in one of the smaller screens, the mixture of the room feeling like it wasn't air conditioned as it was boiling hot made me extremely uncomfortable in the chairs (so found myself having to toss and turn quite frequently).

The best Light House. Stepping inside from a freezing day outside, we were greeted with a lovely fireplace and toasty-warm room (ok, the fire is fake but the effect is just as good!). We will definitely be visiting again next time we visit Wellington.

This place is a great place to watch a movie! I watched the movie "knives out" and enjoyed the movie and Lighthouse cinema experience. The place is small and cozy, and has nice food for if you get hungry. My only problem was that at the beginning of the day when it was still sunny, rays of light were shining into the room. And after an hour or so the chairs can get a bit uncomfortable, but other than that, I totally recommend it.

The original of a trio of independent, locally run Wellington Light House Cinema theatres, Lighthouse Petone has in my opinion been the regional leader for years in creating a complete cinematic experience for discerning experience economy audiences wanting to step outside the mainstream blockbuster environment. This theatre creates a social experience and has been an important part of the resurgence of interest in “going to the theatre” over the past decade or so despite the never-ending improvements in home theatre quality and online streaming. Tucked in the heart of Petone with a 3 HR carpark across the road and pretty easy street parking around, you will find an inviting, warmly decorated and cozy high-quality environment to step into. Great coffee, tasty food (great vegetarian choices too!) for lunch and dinner or just a snack, boutique beers, fine wines and a good range of non-alcoholic drinks. The foyer areas are perfect for lounging out and relaxing in either before or after a movie. Staff are all friendly, well-groomed and courteous. Seating inside the cinema is in super comfy double couches with plenty of leg room. The four theatres are small, but screen clarity, size and sound quality is first class. Lighthouse has an eclectic range of foreign and applauded independent films as well as all the high-quality award-winning movies making this theatre a perfect escape from the everyday.

Lovely Boutique cinema. 4 screens upstairs and downstairs. We booked online which was a good idea as there was a queue it the door when we arrived. Super friendly ushers who helped us to our seats. Free water on tap which is really good to see. Huge selection of drinks and goodies at the snack bar. Nice clean toilets. Comfy wider seats like mini couches which may not suit everyone. Nice steep floor pitch so all seats had a good view. Overall a really great night out, highly recommended.

Lovely old school cinema with couches. Couple minor gripes, the centre speaker where all the dialogue came from could have been louder or the side speakers with very loud music quieter, missed the occasional line of dialogue. Also, the usher was very nice but VERY LOUD. :)

Nice café, though a bit pricey. The staff at the service counter often seem distracted and not 100% attentive. Perhaps the space behind the counter is too cramped? Parking is at a premium in this area too so this cinema is not our preferred choice. We find it easier and more enjoyable to drive to the Monterey Cinema in Upper Hutt and enjoy a more relaxed night out. #Dinner&Movie

I like this movie theater, about the same price per ticket as 'regular' cinemas. You can get a wine and food before the event that you take into the movie with you. There's a good range of movies to watch in 2D or 3D. The seating is couch style and is very comfortable. Lately been to fund raising events there which is a nice way to support the community.

This lovely building has a heap of heritage and as a movie theatre is one of the most welcoming and comfortable I have been in. Great coffee and light snacks available, staff were lovely and friendly. As a visiting Aussie over 200cm tall I found the lounge style two seaters most accommodating. A surprisingly fabulous experience, will be back for sure!

Great smaller local theatre to watch all the latest releases and art house theatre films. Its between 11 and 16.50 a ticket and the snacks are on the pricey side. The theatre seats are small couches that you can take a coffee or tea and enjoy the big screen.

Awesome experience!! This is by far the best cinema we have ever been to. It's really cozy and the staff is extremely nice. I ordered drinks at the bar, and they brought the tea to my wife inside the cinema! The seats are very comfortable. Really a gem!

This cinema is very nice and cosy and it makes you feel like your at home. They use couches instead of traditional seating. It is basically in a separate league compared to your traditional cinemas like Readings and Event. It is a expensive though and it can be difficult to find parking especially when a blockbuster movie appears.

Great place, in line with the other Lighthouse Theatres although tbere are more tables and seats for a cuppa before the movie. Parking clan be a bit of a hassle though as the adjacent car park is usually full and there is little street parking

Love all three Light House cinemas in Wellington. It's my favorite complex. There's surprisingly five small cinemas in the Petone complex, with seating arrangements from 10 in the smallest cinema, 31, 45, 80 & 110 in the largest cinema. It's got a nice cafe area with bar service and you can take your drinks into the cinema. Great ice creams too. The seating is typically two seater couch arrangement, so great for couples and families. It has a nice boutique atmosphere and tends to cater for a more mature audience. It's best to book to secure your seats.

It's really cool to have a Cinema in Petone, I used to go there may be 2 or 3 times a month when I use to live in Petone. It's cool Cinema. It was only like a five minute walk from the place I was staying at some that was cool.
