Magical mighty Maketu Beautiful place, it holds a special place in my heart. Not overcrowded and great for fishing, pipi in estuary. Lovely playground.

Great,was a bit stormy but my partner braved it and got some beautiful big exoetic type shells. Great fishing at the cut. Toilet needs fixing and servicing for the ladies esp. urgently otherwise 5☆.

Great place for very large gatherings, bbqs, playgrounds, beach to swim or gather kaimoana, lots of shady spots to picnic or relax, Surf club, Seaside cafe, Accommodation, Surf casting at one end about a hop skip and a jump or swim a little way from reserve, or a stone's throw for a heat busting ice block or a juice, milk, bread, butter or a Maketu pie from the Landing and the straight across the road to get the best fish and chips from Maketu Fish Shop...yup...I'm so exhausted...what a day.

To the council, thank you for improving the boat ramp, installing the cctv at the boat ramp parking and the free outdoor exercise equipment. Happy to pay rates when our money gets spent within our community

Fabulous park for preschoolers. Our mokopuna had a blast on all the playground equipment. They also loved running around in the big playing field beside the playground.

Beautiful setting to just kick back and watch the locals go about their day. The Pipi were small but there were a lot of them so with a bit of hard work and sifting you can get yourself a decent kai and sweet.
