Reviews of Regent 3 Cinemas
H.
Nice place, bit run down but movie and services was top notch. Kids enjoyed themselves and it was nice to see a family movie and the rest of the people watching were not worried about the little kids make noise or out of their seats.
J.
Great friendly staff, sound a little loud maybe? But we are all different so ...you decide. Clean and so are the toilets.
M.
No Time To Die looked great and the sound was incredible! Popcorn and chocky ice-creams with it- great father-daughter night out :)
B.
The concave, modern screen gives an amazing effect. The colour, the images and the sound are great! The place is well kept. Always love the smell of fresh popcorn in a moviehouse. Loved the movie "The Courier". The seats are comfortable but slightly narrow for extreme comfort. I think larger persons might feel a little cramped. It is great being able to have awesome dinners right there before or afterwards. I had a super, first experience!
M.
Love this picture theatre, the cafe/bistro next door and the cinema kiosk has a large variety of food to take into the movies especially the choc top ice cream and popcorn. No interval so you can watch the movies without interruption.
K.
Regent 3 Cinema is a great place to go and watch new releases and recent release movies.
m.
beautiful decadent theater, was a delight to be in
H.
Old style cinema located at the southern end of Queen St in Masterton. Big screens, big sound. Get your popcorn, a drink and sit back and enjoy. Prices are reasonable. Service was friendly.
I.
Good service, comfortable, great sound and ambience.
J.
The tickets and food are very inexpensive compared to other places. The building has a lot of charm and character. Unfortunately this also means it's very old and is in major need of some aesthetic fixes. The seats were falling apart and not comfortable.
The gentleman working was very friendly and good-natured. The bathrooms were also very well maintained.
P.
Good price venue tired button does the job
C.
Great place. With cheap movie prices. The upstairs could use a upgrade but due to It been a historic building. Well you can understand why. Also popcorn is really good and the fizz all ways being fizzy
A.
Watched my first ever movie here. You just cant beat regent 3 Mastertons ambiance & charm. Has that time machine feel. There's been times where I've had the cinema to myself & times it's been a sardine can. Be careful voyaging for mid movie snacks & slash breaks, the stairs will show you no mercy. Empty first & double up on snacks. Great customer service. Pat on the back Regent 3 Cinemas 👍
B.
Interesting place. Tickets are cheap, screen was good, sound great. The actual theatre is quite amazing, assume it used to be an actual performance theatre and has been converted. Seats aren't very nice, old and broken springs, but would happily come again.
D.
The theatre has old world charm.
Originally it was upstairs and down stairs.
But has in recent years been converted into 2 brand new theatres and retaining part of the old into a third theatre.
2 new 3D projectors have been installed.
Right up to date for those who enjoy 3D.
There is another theatre in town but it doesn't have the charm of the Regent 3 Cinemas.
As a bonus the staff are very good at what they do. They are welcoming; enjoy a quick chat; eager to please.
H.
Really good. The building itself us old, but that's what makes it look food, it's appearance is different and unique. The prices are cheap, and there's plenty of food on offer. The building has 3 theatres, two smaller downstairs ones and a large one above those two.
A.
Awesome local cinema. My wife and I saw Maui's Hook there, at the last Sunday of Mental Health Awareness Week.
The cinema is very Old School, straight out of the early 1960s. I hope it never changes. Great coffee shop next door. Recommended.
t.
Good movie and no-one in the theater good seat
S.
I took my 3 year old daughter to her first movie (The Incredibles 2) at The Regent 3 and both her and I had an awesome experience. She was a little anxious going in, not being a huge fan of loud noises and flashing lights, but her love of the Incredibles characters meant she didn't even flinch, even in the scary bits. I was put at ease by the lovely staff at the theatre who assured me that if my daughter didn't make it very far through the film then we could get a refund, and also didn't charge ridiculous amounts for tickets and snacks. The sound and picture quality were excellent and it is obvious that the place is run by people that really love movies.
E.
A Wairarapa icon. Pretty good but now they have a competitor they don't always show all movies and the old theatre is cold
k.
Been 2 days in a row ... warm comfortable mayb a weeee bit too loud but v enjoyable. Thx
R.
The old theatre has the most beautiful ceilings! Although the whole place could do with a spruce up it has some old school delight about it.
j.
Great movies but up stairs needs a new fit out and down stairs seats are way to small
R.
Wow this place take me back in the 1980, still beautiful place,. Power wheelchair friendly. Park your mobility scooter inside. #givethanks #LightTheWorld
w.
Good wee cinema. Could do with an over haul as it's quite poor decor wise and a little dirty. Seats are plush and roomy unlike most theatres these days which is a massive plus. No hd or surround sound and picture quality is diminished due to poor lighting from exits. Also fellow patrons think it's ok to chat right thru movies. Yay.
P.
Obviously a dated building but clean and tidy and a very helpful staff member gave me a good tip about what to watch.
C.
Good prices great popcorn, and only film theatre I know worth visiting in the wairarapa. Doesn't compare to cinemas in the cities but it's pretty decent. Staff are beyond kind and there's a pretty good deal for dinner and a movie with the cafe next door.
L.
The theatre is certainly looking tired, especially upstairs however the staff are great, movie selections are impressive and you csnt beat a good film on the big screen.
S.
Reasonably priced tickets and candy bar, lovely old theatre building and comfy seats. The only quibble is the sound, which was a little on the quiet side at my session
D.
Very rustic, hasn't been updated in decades but what choice do you have in Masterton. Parts of building looks like its about to fall apart. Still lucky to have a cinema here.
J.
Old uncomfortable seats, but that is the bad stuff first. The big old widescreen feeling, just like when you were a kid. Go see those big special fx blockbusters here, it's cheaper to watch movies these days.
M.
Pretty good movie. Although no wheelchair access to the biggest theater upstairs which normally shows the best movies at the time of.
W.
Great 3D here. Active glasses are a much better experience than passive. I watch all my 3D movies here.
R.
It's a old building but with a very good 3D Cinema system. Nice sound and good image! Food is expansive (Popcorn, etc)
A.
Walls smelt like vomit but went away after abit great sound!
D.
Great little old cinema
T.
Way past overdue for a revamp. Although the prices are quite cheap. Need to maybe try a different brand of popcorn 😂 tastes like cardboard
T.
Needs new seats and maybe an upgrade in picture quality. But the staff are great
U.
Needs a revamp, the seats are uncomfy and the big cinema doesn't have cup holders
P.
This is a nice old cinema with good sound and screen. The seats are worn, but still very comfy.
S.
Staff are excellent, the sound system and movie experience is fantastic, it's a real shame that the décor, lighting and seating are awful in the big screen cinema space.
Y.
Lovely place with lots of books and other old staff
C.
Kids love the movies and so do I. Great food and service here always
J.
I did go to a movie here. The seats are comfortable and the sound good
M.
oldie but a goodie...
attended regularly as a youngster.
S.
Some awesome people run this place. I would give it 5 stars if there was paraplegic access to upstairs.
M.
Had a great time my son and I watched The last Jedi in 3D can't wait for tge next
J.
Toilets need an upgrade.the main cinema needs a huge revamp. .though awesome customer service more than makes up for it
e.
I got stabbed 4 times by a Japanese guy but the movie was pretty good
D.
Nice staff, good screen and sound. Good range of movies.
M.
We don't have any other option than regent 3 cinema. Looks very old now
C.
It has great sound, and is a fantastic old building.
B.

H.

As theatres go, it's OK. It gets an extra star for not being Reading or Hoytes.
R.
Old school cinema experience.reasonably priced.
T.
John wick 3 was great and my meal was fantastic
O.
A bit shabby but there's nothing wrong with the movies, food, price or service.
K.
The facilities here could do with a spruce up but the food, movies and ultra friendly staff more than make up for that!
