I found a vinyl album I have been looking for for a long time on the Just For the Record website so I pinged an email over to check stock. Received a quick reply so ordered immediately. My album was shipped very quickly just before Christmas. Now we know it takes awhile with international post, especially with Xmas holidays and a pandemic in the way. But the album arrived safely and was exactly as promised. Can’t fault the service! I can confidently say that this shop offers great Old Skool service with friendly communications even if you live thousands of miles away. It’s a shame I don’t live closer as it’s my kind of record store. Thanks guys. You made my New Year much happier !

Fantastic range, fast shipping, and always well packaged. Both Gordon and Janis are great to deal with - always happy to help with sourcing records that they don't currently have, and they actually pull through & do what they say they are going to do for you. Really lovely people to deal with :)

Howdy. I ordered online from these guys earlier this week and my records just arrived. Well, packaged, prompt, and with a nice level of personalisation by way of a little note on the invoice. I can't speak for the approach of these guys in person, but they provide a fantastic online service.

Gordon is amazing - so knowledgeable and helpful. We arrived not quite sure and left lifelong fans of his shop and his awesome approach to retail. Highly recommended - as with anyone, if you want a positive experience just abide by the first universal law, “don’t be an arsehole”. He rocks!

Ordered Kanye West - Ye from them online, a record I haven't been able to find anywhere else in New Zealand. It arrived in auckland very quickly and was packaged excellently, a very sturdy mailer and warning labels that it was a record and not to leave it in the sun, fantastic job! Inside the mailer was a handwritten thank you note which was a super nice touch and the record sleeve itself was in perfect condition, not a single crease or ding anywhere. Super excited to finally be able to play this record. Absolutely outstanding service, highly recommended, it is clear that they truly care about vinyl and this shows in their selection, packaging and service.

Made the effort to go to Just For The Record's suburban location. Well worth the effort. Came away very happy with purchases. Gordon is very friendly and incredibly keen to help. Some may find his input overbearing (I see some negative comments here) but I didn't. And I think saying something like "happy to browse thanks and will yell out if I need some help" is the way to go. Great coffee too....

Made an online order over the weekend and they managed to get it all the way to Auckland by Tuesday. Great service!

Visiting Just for the Record was a unique experience as Gordon and Janis now run their business from home. Gordon's lifelong passion for vinyl was obvious and he and Janis showed us great hospitality during our extended visit. They have a wide ranging and well organised selection of new and second hand vinyl.

Really great record shop with good service. I found some of the reviews on here to be a little harsh. I actually found owner to be a nice bloke and genuinely helpful, perhaps some people just don’t get nor understand his sense of humour?

Great service and care for precious vinyl records 'Just for the Record' really know their products I am super impressed with my first purchase and I will be back for more!

I didn't buy anything as I thought he was too pricey. His range is impressive and he has a lot of hard to find stuff, but his asking prices are in general 20% higher than shops that I am familiar with in Auckland, Sydney or on line. The most impressive thing is his range of Mobile Fidelity titles, but priced accordingly. There is a room with second hand worth a browse, but again, pricey.

Good selection. Owner was friendly, maybe people aren't used to his sense of humour? Some records are a bit pricey but the second hand stuff is well priced.

I ordered from France and the records were shipped the next day and delivered ten days after in Paris. Great packaging. Thank you
