J. F.Always a pleasantly comfortable intimate performance experience. Good number of toilet facilities, access for wheel chairs too. Good quick refreshments service.
t. d. c.Never been inside but if you skate there's a sick crusty wallride at the back of the municipal theatre and it's rad, I'm sure the shows are top notch also
S. E.Such a great venue for dance recitals, ballet performances & classical music. The seats in the circle are not made for long legs though! The gorgeous architecture takes away the focus from that though...
P. P.The Theatre was closed for the couple of days I was in Napier, and I resigned myself to not getting inside.
A lone staff member took pity on the Ozzie trying to see through the dark entrance.
A quick chat, and he gave me a tour of the amazing interior, even turning on the Light system.
It's a truly amazing space, and combination of the Art Deco interior with world class lighting is truly amazing, and a credit to the City of Napier.
d. c.My all time favourite theatre in the world, nothing can beat the familiar but whimsical feel it brings, would love to see some more ballets and shows etc
P. O.Really awesome 1000-odd seat venue with stalls and circle seating. In the art deco style as so much of post-quake Napier buildings are, but thoroughly up-to-date features, including very effective air-conditioning.

I'm not a local....
Stopped in and watched some very talented pianists. Ranging in age 5-15yrs. Playing classical, jazz and a modern piece as well. This place has a lot happening. A local ballet class a doing Bad Jelly the Witch. I see the Queen Tribute will be there too. It's actually just lovely to go into this building, it's old and beautiful.
N. t.We had a great time, the theater itself was easy to find and the seating was great.
D. M.It is a delightful building and cosy Theatre. Last night was Ben Elton and the cosy size brought his comedy and presence close. Next week we have the Pink Floyd Experience. Quality live music should be a great rest of the acoustics.
K. R.Hansel and Gretel. Visited the ballet tonight. It was fantastic. I've seen a lot of ballets at the venue, but this was certainty the best for me. A must see.

N. M.Beautiful place and suits Napier's art deco theme. Spacious and good leg room in the seats. Lighting is great and the stage is good. Great shows and tours. My only complaint is the seats are a bit scratchy so I suggest wearing long pants or a long skirt
C. B.This is a beautiful art deco theatre. A couple of niggles, though. Despite sitting only a few rows from the stage, it was quite hard to see the show because of the seating layout. The seats are not terribly comfortable either. However, yhe local production was world-class.
T. c.Sometimes that AC be on the colder side but other than that love it. I was in a group called project prima volta (ppv), the groups been around for about 9 years now, I was in there for about 5 of those years. We performed there a lot and the only issue we've had is space for bigger groups to rehearsal and do what they have to and more rooms to cater for all!! but other than that love all the memories there will deffs treasure them forever xoxo
S. B.Have visited this theatre a number of times with a touring band. It's central, easy to access, and has some amazing NZ history. The front foyer is a look back to the 1920's and '30's. The core of the building is old but really well maintained. On tour this is one of my favourite venues in NZ. Staff at the ticket office are awesome!

M. S.The theatre has been very well restored back to its Art Deco heyday, even down to the carpets. It's large and comfortable inside.
P. B.Playing concerts in Napier is always a pleasure; the art-deco style is charming, and the audience is numerous and supportive. Sadly the theatrical drapes of the venue absorb much of the sound, but an acoustically designed sound shell would improve matters.

M. M.A lovely old theatre. The architecture outside to inside it is beautifully done. A nice atmosphere. A great place to watch a shows. Has really high ceilings.
H. S.Love the art deco style of the theatre, show was excellent. We were right at the back and even being vertically challenged I could see and hear everything. Only complaint was it was very hot inside.

W.What a wonderful bit of Art Deco building if you are able to get a chance to see the lights in the theatre and foyer the staff were wonderful especially one member of staff who see we were from the UK went out of her way by showing us the foyer and turning on the Art Deco lighting and taking us into the theatre and spending time with us

S. K.The Municipal buildings were Spacious and very Functional. Our New Approach Hui was the feature of our "Tour of duty" on the EAST COAST of the North Island. 18 August. The Public response was spectacular and many came to JESUS. The hihilights of the presentations were The testimonies relayed by our X-MEN TEAM. MEN who were once the terror of our land; shared of lives turned around an hope that is now on dusplay in their home. Plus the backing our our Senior Ministers, Apostle Bishop Brian Tamaki & Pastor Hannah Tamaki and the National MANUP & LEGACY DIRECTORS; Elder Caine & Jamie Warren.
