Very nice park to walk with your dog. Clean and good environment. A lot of trees to shade you from the strong sunlight during hot summer time.

A doggo adventure/dream. A QR code is displayed at main carpark entrance. One unisex 🚻 long drop public toilet 🚾, not sign posted so from the main car park turn left & follow the top path for about 200 mtrs to a single plywood building, their is an outside hand wash station always stocked with soap, & a tap with doggo water bowl, & a rubbish bin.

Really enjoyed our walk today. We don't have a dog, but enjoyed watching all the happy dogs we encountered along the way. I'm currently having to use a knee scooter, but found the tracks relatively easy to negotiate, except for needing help up a rather steep slope. I also appreciated the fact that the park is free from litter, making it an enjoyable place to be.

Our dogs love this place. The walk around the whole park is about 2.5km, but there are shorter routes around. Great for a gentle walk as well for running with your dogs. Off the lead allowed, plenty of rubbish bins and poop bags around the park for doggy doodoo's. The stream is fantastic relief for hot dogs. Lovely plantings and fruit trees around park. There's a long drop toilet as well, down the path (half way down ?) left side path of carpark. New car park with lots of parking, some shaded parks too. Many memorials around the park for those interested. And daffodils in spring time. Great place for family picnics, but not many picnic tables, so take a rug. There are a few seats around the park and also a cool dog exercise training area.

Great dog park, my dog actually whines as we drive into the car park she is so excited to visit. Dog owners in general are really responsible here and the options at the park itself for walks makes for a great experience both for humans and dogs alike.

Pakowai is a social place to go. My dog meets friends and so do I. Spring has made all the northern trees bright green while the natives are flowering to feed the This and your soul.

I'll tell you what if you have a dog 🐕 or just want a good walk this is the place I'm in a wheelchair 2 hills but not that steep we go here it has it all a little river bridges tall tree's a big meadow with a seat for a rest even a very clean toilet 🚻 so I recommend to all

Fantastic dog park! Feels like your in the middle of nowhere but it's not far from town. I love bringing my dog here and you always meet some lovely people and dogs while your walking. Great stream for dogs to swim in and plenty of easy walking paths. I also really appreciate how the council provides dog poop bags in case you forget yours!

A beautiful park where dogs are allowed to run free and play in the river which runs through the site. An easy terrain which makes for easy walking. A great carpark all adds to the appeal.

This is such a great place to have a stroll in a beautiful natural setting and also take your dog for a walk. It's actually perfect for dog walking and there is even a dog exercise park with an obstacle course, which our son also enjoyed! Very well maintained paths and grounds, and toilet facilities also. Plenty of parking and very conveniently located.

I've been coming here with for 12 years with my dogs. It's a great walk that you can make as long or short as your time allows. Most people you meet are very friendly. There is a loo for the humans and poo bag dispensers if you forget your own bags.

This is a fantastic dog park and a doggie jewel in the crown of Hawkes Bay. There's plenty of parking, well maintained tracks, bridges, signage, poo bag dispensers, bins for rubbish. The birdlife is fantastic. Well behaved dogs frequent here and its great for doggy socializing. Oh, I forgot to mention the proper agility course for dogs. Its easy to spend an hour or more here, especially if your dog loves to swim. Dogs can have complete freedom here and just be themselves, carefree and happy.
