Stopped here on my way through and I couldn’t have felt more welcome. The cafe was so warm and inviting and the owner even more so. I had a traditional scone with lemon curd and clotted cream and it was stunning. My kids even beg me to go back and we definitely plan to.
As you walk in the door, you are greeted with warmth and a feeling of being ‘in England’ as you see so much European culture being shown and this place has a way of drawing you in to look further. And oh my gosh did it smell AMAZING!! Actually mouth watering and it drew us to the menu!
The owner made my kids smile and gave them activities of things to spot on this colourful hall and she helped make ‘eating out with children’ a very easy and comfortable experience.
5 stars and I recommend this tea room to anyone and everyone as know, you definitely WONT be disappointed.
Exceeds expectations!

Lovely variety of interesting scones and clotted cream (!!). Loads of different teas. Fun and quirky decorations and hats for dressing up. Kids especially would love this place for the fun factor. Adults will love the delicious food and great service.

What a special find on a rainy day drive to Urenui. The scone choice is amazing and the bottomless pot of tea was very welcomed. Our host was so lovely, helping us choose from the large selection of scones with jam, clotted cream and lemon curd. Such fun decor - very welcoming. We will be back!

What a wonderful experience going to this cafe was, from the welcome from the proprietor to the surprise and fun exploring the decor, trying on the myriad of hats. To top it off the lovely array of scones and toppings, beautifully presented. This place was the highlight of our trip.

An amazing place to enjoy traditional english breakfast. There are so many different varieties of teas to chose from. The owner is super friendly and has lots of stories to tell. The scone was absolutely delicious. I don't think I've had a better scone in my life. Please visit this place.

This tea shop is in face a clever front for a real life mad hatters tea party.
They offer a variety of traditional UK foods, pasties, scones and the like.
The interior is full of side boards, hidden teddy bears and most importantly... Hats.
You are encouraged to try on the hats and wear them while you sample some of the 123 (and counting) types of scones they have had on offer.
Oh, and the widest selection of teas I've seen in NZ, including my favourite - Pukka.
This will be on our list whenever we pass from now on.

What a wonderful quite place with traditional english stuff. The decor is out of the world. There are so many varieties of tea, hard to choose from but whatever we had was worth the money. Scones are the best and sandwiches are well made. You can have a hat/cap for every occassion. The icing on the cake is the hospitality and passion of Joanne, the owner, which makes everything worthwhile because it is served with lots of love and genuine honesty. PLEASE DO VISIT THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH THE FAMILY. 5 stars are not enough A++++++++++

His Highness (my husband) and I were impressed! Owner the lovely Jo has the incredible personality needed for a place like this.
Scones with jam & homemade clotted cream and breakfast tea poured into fine china was simply outstanding. Good old fashioned hospitality. We took the soup away to have later and it is the best soup we have ever tasted.
We were so lucky as Paddington Bear decided to join our table and his company is not to be missed . While having a cup of tea Paddington said to us “It’s rather hard drinking out of a cup. I usually get my head stuck, or else my hat falls in and makes it taste nasty” lol We really cannot wait to come back. Thanks again to Jo and Emma.

Had a great Devonshire tea with clotted cream. Great scones. Lovely host and truly wonderful setting with numerous knickknacks and original atmosphere. Was a lucky find.
