Reviews of Opua Ferry Terminal
V.Ferries were available quickly, never waited longer than 10mins on multiple trips we took from opua to Russell. Interesting experience for our 5year old.
While returning from Russell, we took the longer route which took us about the same time and was equally, or I could say more scenic but taking vehicle ferry is definitely a great experience to try once at atleast.
D.So happy I managed to experience the great ride on-board the Vehicle Ferry between Opua and Okiato! Convenient, fast, reliable. Thanks for transporting us - WE LOVE IT!!

A.Easy Ferry access. Easy pay options and beautiful marina.
T.Feels like you are taking an overseas trip when traveling to Russell and Tapeka. Ferries run from 6:20am to 9:50pm. No booking required. Payment by credit card on board now possible. The trip between Opua and Okiato takes 12-15 minutes

I rate this ALL DAY LONG.
No or little wait, easy payment, qik trip, attentive staff.

P.Cost at time of writing was $12 one-way per vehicle, passengers no extra cost. Value and quick trip across to access Russell from Opua / Pahia. Sails every 10min or so, so hardly any wait at all. Top service.
C.Service is frequent, and overpriced; for only being about 2km.
$12.50 NZD for a car [hint - $1 for pedestrian, if you park and ride].
If coming from Auckland, and want a scenic drive.
Follow Russell Road from Motorway 1.

M.Nice and basic the prices are the the start of the queuing area. Also motor bikes they always have room so you can just go to the front of the que as you don't take up any car spaces on the ferry itself.
A.Drove straight onto the waiting Opua Ferry to cross over to Russell. Was a quick and tranquil crossing.
