J. B.March2021: arrived around 9pm. Grateful to get a room after a long day of driving. The room was basic and clean. Had everything needed for a great sleep. This serves as a Truckers stop as well.
The pub is attached to the motel, so we went and had a drink after we organised the room.
A few locals were in and the premises felt comfortable. So nice to feel the "back in the day" atmosphere...
10/10 for Both staff members, they were great. Kingston was very quick to help with Dylan and we appreciate you stepping in.

J.Amazing food. I ordered the pork and it was just delicious, best pork I've had ever. But when my friend's lamb shanks came out... Well, it put the pork to shame. I am now in love with lamb shanks and will be coming back regularly!!!
D. R.We had a family reunion here it was a lovely place to Stay. The staff here were excellent very very helpful they went out of there way to help us out. We had a couple of problems as you do with family reunions lol but the staff helped fix without any problems. They were so supportive an lovely to us. The Food here is also excellent an delicious we loved the meals here my favorite the fish meal but all the food we had here was great. The atmosphere here was also great so relaxing an friendly all the staff and the managers are so welcoming and friendly and very positive. I and my family stayed for 2 nights an we ejoyed it very much I would stay again and I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone. I'd like to thank all the staff an the managers so much for everything they did for us. A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL FOR 2018 😸
N. S. (.We enjoyed a fantastic stop over at the Post Office on our way down to Wellington. The Manager went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The food was amazing and the beers were delicious. We will make sure to stop here on our next road trip.

It's the local haunt of passing truck drivers, which could turn off some people, but that's totally unwarranted.
It's pretty bizzare architecturally, all of the rooms are wierdly shaped. The positions of the rooms don't make a lick of sense. The bar rooms have absurdly high ceilings that give them a desolate feeling.
Of course, I'm a f**king idiot, because it took me two days to figure it out that it's because the place used to be a post office.
If you're looking for more traditional lodging, I hear the motel across the road is owned by the same blokes.
