Reviews of Palmerston North Airport
I.Lovely airport, but is missing one crucial thing for all lovers of aviation, which is an outdoor/open air viewing area. There are some great planes and sights to look at the the Airport, and for someone who has been on multiple trips out to the airport just to watch planes come in, load their passengers and cargo and be on there way, I'd love to be able to get close to the action and enjoy a cup of coffee.

O.Nice, clean and quiet small airport, we felt safe here at the end of 2019
T.The small airport is not far away from city center. 15 Minutes free parking for pick up and drop off right outside the airport building. One arrival and one departure gate. Air New Zealand is the only one option.
Cafe with food and drinks is situated at upstair of the building.
E.Very helpful ground staff. Nice Coffee Shop well priced. Clean and tidy.
l.A modern, clean, quiet and comfortable domestic airport. Customer service counter was very very helpful, courteous and polite. All information was spot on. Below are the check-in counter of Air NZ, Jetstar and . Jetstar is super strict on luggage size and weight. Only Dash 8 & AT60 aircraft lands here. Short, low clouds and wind greets landing and departing aircraft passengers. Relax offer book, magazine and sundry stuffs. Above on the 1st floor, is a cafe and offers a variety of food and drinks. There are lots of dining tables and seating areas to watch aircraft landing, unloading and boarding passengers. There are plenty of car park & 1st 15 minutes is free.
P.Palmerston North has a much nicer airport than we expected and surprisingly fresh, clean and modern for the size of the city.
It has a really good viewing platform and restaurant up stairs with plenty of seating capacity. The parking is close to the main building so access is easy in bad weather.

P.Nice little airport. Quick to get through, decent cafe, plenty of seating, a few shops and all the car rentals. Close to town.
G.The new fencing restricting passenger pick up areas to the paid area is VERY confusing at 5am when you don't normally go to the airport... new Air NZ Koru lounge makes up for it.
J.Plenty of room to 2m distance, very quiet so spacious. Great toilets and lovely Cafe.
S.Very good. Not much activity though. Cafe needs to look at itself and pricing as it wasnt cheap.
M.Small airport and parking on site can be a challenge. Rental car companies available on site or the option taxis. There is no uber in palm nth so keep that in mind. Only one place to order food and drink which is upstairs, serves burgers, toasted sandwiches, pies etc. Alcohol available if required for your flight.
I.Good airport with loads of space. Good cafe with good selection of drinks. Ranging from soft drinks to coffees to alcoholic beverages, there's a wide variety to chose from.

L.Great, it's only a small place so you can not get lost.
M.The fly Palmy wifi in the Airport itself was excellent no passcode needed just connect and your browsing. The guard on Security duties this afternoon was really helpful as well he knew where all the rental car allotment parking was situated took the hassle out of finding where to park the rental car when under time constraints.

M.Small airport but has all you need. They have more self service stations than staff service which is fine though perhaps more of a hassle for some.
From what I witnessed they were very militant, borderline rude, in their approach. I saw passengers being rushed through bag check ins and snapped at to hurry up. There was one man who was 2 min late and they would not let him on his flight. While this may be good for efficiency, in terms of customer service and genuine human compassion, they were lacking.
I'm not saying all staff were like this, as there were some staff who were very kind and patient, but the rude ones let the team down.
Cleanliness is a plus though, as the airport was pretty spotless and the toilets were lovely and clean.
J.The cafes a bit expensive. Otherwise, a good little airport.
C.Parking sucks for a place that has expansive areas of surrounding unused land as you have four spaces for drop off and you can't stay to say good bye or go in to see them arrive without paying. It's not often an airport has a chance to provide a free parking service but this place is one. Half an hour free parking would be a good start
S.Free Wifi, 6 charging ports, good food and drinks. Clean toilet facilities. It wasn't busy when I was here, but it does get really busy.
M.Great, really busy with planes coming and going everywhere...........just joking! Helpful staff, well stocked shop and a great cafe upstairs. Plenty of car parking and reasonable pricing. FlyPalmy!

M.Small but ok with mod-looking facilities (the coffee is reasonable); at least there is an airport for such a small place and can arrive fast if you're from Auckland or further. There is ample parking available. It is easy enough to get from the parking lot to the check-in counter as the place is small and straightforward.
G.As airport goes very tidy. Super helpful staff. Nice food in the Cafe & very nice coffee.
K.The airport is small but there is space to easily find a seat, everything is clear and u r able to find where you need to go. The wifi is somewhat of a struggle to connect to but it works. The cafe inside has reasonably good coffee and food. The superette inside has a wide selection of thing you can take onto the plan
R.No problems with the facilities , but the aircon was set way too cold. December weather 25 outside but the terminal must be around 16.... too cold for shorts and summer shirt. Easy to fix !!

D.well designed airport close to the palmerston north city 12 minutes drive properly a good 70 minutes walk from the township and 20 minutes by bus well worth a visit b4 you fly out good location staff very friendly and helpful with customer.

K.For a regional airport this has everything you need including device charging bar. Good selection of food and drinks.
P.We were trying to pay for our parking and the machine said we owed $3.00. That's fine and we paid the money but the machine wouldn't give us our ticket back. We tried the intercom and no one answered. We pushed several buttons and eventually we got our ticket back so went to our vehicle and drove to the barrier. The ticket wouldn't work at the Barrier so tried intercom again. Finally someone answered and said that we outside our grace time which is total rubbish as our vehicle was very close to pay station. The woman was rude, very abrupt and unhelpful. We had to go back and pay again. This is total RIP OFF . . .THEFT and not a good look for Palmy.
B.Always nice to fly to. You're in and out very quickly. Just a nice little airport which still has all the facilities.

T.No security. Only one gate. Dead easy self check in. Cafe serving eggs benedict for $20 and decent coffee. Rental cars 20m from arrival gate. What’s not to like?

A.called in to see a friend before they returned to their home area, roadway was blocked and car park was lightly used, had a (so so) coffee, chat and left after 40min and it cost $3 I think a bit expensive ($1 every 10min)

U.2015 This is a smallish provincial airport with good car parking, good coffee and food and an Air New Zealand lounge that is worth using.
