Reviews of Paloma Gardens

These gardens are huge! They are a private garden and it is mentioned clearly when you enter. The amount of work they've put into each area of the garden is astounding. One moment, your walking through a bamboo forest, next it's wetlands, and then turns into a garden display of outdoor art. Very well kept, with vibes very close to what Hamilton Gardens have to offer, but with a unique and chaotic twist of its own (in a good way!). Five stars, definitely worth the visit.

Wonderful gardens, it’s like traveling the gardens of the world. We spend a good 3.5 hours looking around, fascinating the number of tropical and desert plants that are grown here. It is also possible to camp here, which we chose to.

Definitely a must see!!!
Go on an adventure in this amazing garden.
And when you’re done exploring the garden, hit up the motorcycle museum. We met the friendly host wandering around the garden, and they gave us the perfect route to explore.
What to bring: Sensible shoes, $10 entry fee and some time to explore.

Enjoyed the gardens very much, great variety of plants, trees, little art pieces, need to come back to see more.

Without a doubt a world class garden right here in Whanganui. My Husband and I visited this garden many years ago when the Wedding garden area was not long planted and now it is stunning. Thanks for sharing it with visitors from everywhere.

Beautiful gardens, lots of interesting and unusual plants and pottery/garden art/sculptures. Amazing cacti and 'Garden Of Death'! Worth the little drive to get there and the donation.

Absolutely beautiful garden with tons of stunning plants, flowers and trees. Lots of exotic plants and greenhouses and it's the kind of place where you'd just like to stroll around, have a picnic and read a book. You put money in the honesty box and can go enjoy the gardens. There's also an arboretum in the fields you can go enjoy. You can see this is a place that is kept with love. You can also rent this place for weddings and events

Loved the motorbikes and was a great family day out if you wanted to see something different. The road is narrow in some spots but other wise not too bad to get to. The garden themselves need some cutting back when it comes to paths going up hill. The bottom garden is no good if you have poor hip or knees. But my 3year old thought we were in a jungle so she loved her experience. Make sure you aren't hungry or bring snacks and water. Nikau palms are cool and the bamboo path was my favorite.

This Garden is absolutely wonderful, absolutely breathtaking walking down the steps into the large garden. Some very interesting plants to be seen, which are very established. A total 10/10, be prepared for at least 3 hours if not more. An absolute credit to it's owners.
