The esplanade reserve has amazing beach sands just like it's nearby beaches and a lot of grassy land to exercise or have picnics but accessing it can be a bit difficult. From what I remember there were only 2 entrances, one on Manly street heading east and the other, a side street off Manly street heading west. The rest of the neighboring houses north of Manly street block a lot of the beauty of this reserve. It also means a longer hike to fully explore the reserve unlike nearby beach/parks.
