Lovely place for kids to play and have a quick picnic, or go for a walk on the beach. Skatepark for older kids. Currently undergoing renovations, but play and skate area unaffected. Lots of restaurants and shops close by, so even if you did not pack a picnic you should be sorted for any meal.

Attended Kapiti Gospel Choirs community sing. Christmas in the Park . Giving back to the community. Definitely worth the drive from Palmerston North. Great music with a breathtaking background view of Kapiti Island-

Great park, undergoing maintenance/ upgrades to the grounds which will be completed over the next few years. Great for the kids with a range of different playground equipment and a skate park too. Toilets, a drinking fountain, park benches situated around the park. Great location, close to the beach and shops.

Nice little park, small playground with a beach theme, boat, tractor, lighthouse slide and other things, recently a BBQ was added. Lovely on a nice day for a picnic as also next to the beach.

A great place to visit if you need to keep children amused for a couple of hours in the cooler weather. The park is awesome and newly renovated with a good variety of items to play on, being practically on the beach front a great place to spend the day in summer. Many takeaway shops close buy is a bonus if you get hungry I bring my grandchildren here for a treat nothing like fish and chips, a swim (in the warmer weather) then playing in the park and an ice cream before we leave.

If you’re sick of taking your kids to your run of the mill generic playground, take your kids to MacLean Park. With the Beach Township across the road with some of the Coast’s best café’s, and the beach itself a mere 50m walk. The playground features a large skatepark and unique playground equipment you won’t find anywhere else in the Wellington region.

Such a great place to relax, and is often the place to go around Christmas 😉. It's right near the beach, and if you can brave the cold, you'll receive an amazing sunset over Kapiti Island. The park is epic, and often find myself on the swing set if no one's watching 😅

Another beautiful park sandwiched between cafes and a beach. This one definately feels like it us focussed on younger kids like ours. The boat and tractor are big favourites alongside classic play park items.

This park is a neat place to explore with a fill sized tractor & Boat to play in & on. It has a small area for all ages with a big skate park located within a short walking distance away. The local Parae each shop are an easy walk away also for a ymmmy meal, ice cream, just to browse the many different shops there. Do venture up the side streetz for more shops & every Saturday there is a street market to enjoy also

Well kept, clean toilets. Decent children's playground, and skate-park. Lots of hazards nearby (road, ocean, estuary), but some fencing and protection for the little ones. Reasonably popular with locals when we visited.

I liked the undercover area. The park area need more bark, big puddles, and the area of the old boating pond needs lifting with soil, big dip in the lawn,and ponding.Lots of kids with wet feet.
