J.As they say, it’s tough at the top!
Took us around 26min to get up, very sweaty but was so worth it at the top. Quite steep in places but even the dog was able to make it up.
Highly recommend doing this in the morning when it’s cooler and take in that beautiful view.

S.Steep rocky hike to top. You'll sweat a lot on this one. Views along the way are great, as are they from the top. Sign is right, 1h45m for moderately fit. You can make this a loop, another 1h45m from top - it ends up at the cave walk, the trail the was to the left when you started this hike.
G.A decent walk with amazing panoramic views from the trig. 1-1.5 hour return trip for moderately fit. Quite steep in places and requires a bit of navigating the roots.
S.Trail to the top was hell but worth the view on a sunny day
P.Great short hike. About an hour round at a cruisy speed. It's steep in places.
R.Challenging climb to the top but well worth the effort. Not recommended for the unfit. The track is formed but is subject to erosion and wear and tear. Suitable for accompanied children. Not suitable for jandals or flip flops. There are sections which must be climbed.
B.Great but steep track to the top of Pauanui Summit. While it starts off a little gentle, there is nothing more flat than the first 100 meters of this track.
Popular with locals, who motor up and down and popular with visitors, it is easy to spot the locals and visitors.
A nice view point at the top with benches to rest on.
While most head straight back down, take the time to go the back route back to Pauanui, via Cave Bay.
C.Great walk. Tough track, lots of roots steep in places. Awesome challenge. Even more awesome view, worth the walk.
I.This is actaully Paku Mt accessed from Tairua. It's quite a climb up a well formed path with just the last few meters where you need to scramble over the rocks. Great views from the top. You choose to walk from the seashore to the top or start halfway up from the large carpark.
T.It is very steep and rocky.You would need to be quite fit.Make use of branches to keep safe.Worth it when you reach the top to see the view
B.View worth the climb, if you take route in anticlockwise direction it is more scenic on descent

The track is scattered with tree roots and rocks and when it rains, steady and sure footing is needed.

I.(Translated) A very nice climb!
We went there with the wrong expectation, which made the climb physically disappointing. It is very spicy and the climb to the top takes 1 hour. You do need a reasonable condition, otherwise you will take much longer. Once you reach the top, panting, the view makes everything right.

Een enorm leuke klim!
We gingen er met de verkeerde verwachting naartoe waardoor de klim fysiek wat tegen viel. Hij is erg pittig en de klim tot de top duurt 1 uur. Je hebt wel een redelijke conditie nodig, anders doe je er veel langer over. Als je eenmaal hijgend de top bereikt maakt het uitzicht alles goed.
