M.Try to be seated as far back as you can (as the volume in the front is VERY loud)
Also you need to make a reservation ontop of paying for a ticket- so just be aware if you are planning on going to call ahead of time so you dont end up not being able to see the movie your planning on seeing!
Also small pet peeve, but i feel like not having popcorn available for purchase is a bit of a disappointment- though that may not bother most people!
M.A fantastic little cinema tucked away in a beautiful village. Food and drinks available at the cinema, which is surrounded by lovely walkways for a scenic stroll after your movie.
J.Ambience was nice staff were friendly enough. Our cake was a little dry and unfortunately my coffee was disgusting. Over extraction on the beans so I got that bitter sour tasting coffee.

A.This is a lovely little cinema based next to the Pāuatahanui wildlife reserve. It only has a couple of screening rooms but both of these have a warm atmosphere and are very cosy. The capacities of the rooms are not massive but that does mean it never feels too crowded. The seating is made up of double sofas with wide wooden arms - great to perch a hot drink on. There is a good range of food and hot (or cold) beverages you can acquire at the front desk and you are allowed to take those into the cinemas with you. In addition, the toilets have always been clean when I've visited. Watching films at the light house is always a relaxed and comfortable experience.

T.Very cosy, as you have sort of like couch with a cushion, so you really feel relaxed in the environment. Its also a smaller cinema, so its even better, because its not over crowded and just right. They have food you can buy there, they just don't sell popcorn, but replace it with crisps.
other then that, I think I've found a cinema that I will be using more frequently then that of the main one as it is always crowded.
T.Fabulous place to see a movie. Staff are excellent. Lots of room to sit and enjoy a drink and snack before the movie starts.
j.Only comment is in an almost empty theatre they sit people right next to each other. Which is a bit frustrating, when it would be easy to do comfortable social distancing. I have had this happen on more than one occasion there. Pick your seats people.
J.A classy movie experience. Has nice seating outside of cinema, able to get a coffee or drink before film. Inside the cinemas the layouts are like couches, so 2 per seat. Very comfortable viewing experience, as well as a classy feeling vibe. Picture and sound quality inside is amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Quite pricey ticket prices but well worth it.
C.The cinema is nice but there are a few issues to point out. Firstly the Cafe is very basic and only offers cabinet food as they do not have a kitchen. While the food is good and the drink selection is good they could have more options especially as a cinema such as popcorn.
Inside the cinema the couches are slightly uncomfortable if you are slightly tall and the design means that if you are sitting on the far left of the screen the image is distorted and can make it hard to view.
Overall, its not bad but could be better if they improve to layout and add to the cafe.
M.Great little cinema. Park your car over the one way bridge as parking is quite limited at the cinema itself. Comfortable couches, great sound. Good selection of food available. Easy to book tickets online and no need to print them out.
B.This cosy little cinema definitely gives the feel of homeliness - especially the two seater sofas, with cushions for comfort. Been here a few times now and the customer service has been on point everytime. Food is yummy too.

A.Really good cinema, very cozy and a nice environment. Has some slightly different movies from some of the other cinemas which is cool. The staff are helpful, a nice cafe too.
R.Semi formal in sense of styling & decor. Great staff, worth booking for as is a lighthouse complex.
Cafe has good range & quality, make sure you take advantage of a glass of wine etc into movies.
Great date night, and do mums & bubs session if your date goes well ;-)
D.Great theatre that offers contemporary, classic and art films. Theatres are small with comfy sofas and cushions. Love that you can take a wine or coffee etc into the theatre. Cafe has lovely setting... only wish they would make better coffees (and hotter).

S.Great theme. Barely any food though, I read reviews which stated food came here hungry left starving. Amazing staff, had a few issues with the film but staff did everything to fix it and kept us happy. I just went to the embassy and I can assure you this is now my preferred theatre.
J.Two screen cinema with a lovely cafe in the building, too. Ticket prices are reasonable, and the chairs. Oh, the chairs! Sit in the comfort of a sofa, such that even with people around you, it feels like your front room. Screen and sound also great.
A.Great place to catch up with friends. Movies are awesome. Couches comfy! Glass of wine or a coffee on the side, perfection.
It's also a great community supporter. Fundraising movies are a good way to rsise funds and Light House make it easy!
D.This review is comparing the lighthouse with Gold Class in Perth. Basically the cinema was small and cosy. The seats were like couches but a little uncomfortable. The movie experience was normal. Food and service were great. Price was affordable. Overall I liked it but a bit below par of gold class which you pay more for.
R.Nice little movie theatre. Saw Endgame here and the picture and sound quality was really good. I have to drop a star though as they don't serve popcorn here so people need to bring their own. This results in noisy popcorn packets being brought in which can get annoying during quiet moments. Because of this I personally probably wouldn't come back again.
A.We love this cosy little cinema. They have a delightful selection of foods ice creams and coffees as well as beer and wine. It is our favourite place to go for a date. Highly recommended.
N.Love this little cinema. Shows an excellent variety of local and international folms as well as ballet and opera films. Great place for afternoon tea or even a wine if you are out that way. Just a 30 minute drive from Wellington City but feels like another world.
L.Cosy little movie theatres with lovely seating in 2s so you can snuggle up if you so desire, but still spacious enough that you don't feel like you're invading someone else's space. Great foot room between the rows too - no fear of getting your bum in someone's face as you pass people to get to your seat, and really nice for the more long-legged ones amongst us. A lovely wee cafe too, delicious food and good coffee with a nice bush outlook. Cafe food and drinks can also be taken into the theatre - so you're well catered to if you prefer something a little more sophisticated than popcorn (although popcorn is welcome too). They're also a great place for movie fundraisers!
H.The food needs to be better especially for the price you pay however the setting to watch a movie is beautiful. It seems too the young service need to be more welcoming. They all seem to not show happiness.
J.A gorgeous little cinema! Cute couches for a great date. Sound and screen excellent, and the cafe in the foyer will let you take a glass of wine or a coffee in with you!
R.A small 2 cinema building with a relaxing atmosphere with wonderful seats not a big range of food more of a cafe feel. sound is good best seats are in the center for good viewing.
E.Remember to take your own "reusable" cup to movies here. Didnt enjoy carrying a teapot nd mug into a theatre to be honest. Also the smell was a tad off putting until the attendant doused it in air freshener! Very expensive too when ur used to $10 at Porirua cinemas, which we would have gone to but Lighthouse was only theatre showing Little Women. On the bright side would recommend the movie 😀
A.Boutique cinema experience with double couches instead of seats, good sound system. There is reasonably priced, pleasant food and drinks available that can be taken into the cinema. Prices are generally higher than mainline cinemas so there tend not to be family outings with out of control children.

S.Lovely theatre, went midweek at 4pm, friendly staff, comfy couches. Enjoyed a glass of wine as we watched the movie. Easy access for my friend who has limited mobility.

A.The Lighthouse Theaters are awesome. They have couches instead of chairs, wine, coffee and cake is allowed in the theater.
A normal theater will only hold about 30 to 50 people so it is more intimate than a large commercial theater.
S.Cosy cinemas with couch seating. Great range of movies. Cafe serves quality food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Pricier than your average cinema but you are paying for a classier experience.

D.My favourite cinema. Two cinemas with comfortable two seater couches. Take in your barrista coffee, glass of wine or ice chocolate and relax with a yummy ice cream while you enjoy your movie. Nice cafe area as well.

V.Not happy to watch commercials which show on TV at least 20 times per day. Why comershals have to follow us everywhere even in the cinema?! Otherwise it is our nice cinema and we like the place!
G.Prefer the light house in Petone. It’s nice and comfy in pauatahnui but last time we went there the screen had these blue dots all over it so we spoke to them about it only to be told that the projector was broken and there was nothing they could do. Service wasn’t great as the cashier was chatting in the kitchen area while we waited to be served.. would come back as it’s a very cute little place.
J.The lighthouse has a good reputation for showing the movies that you won't find in the big theatres. Sadly, they no longer have much in the way of gluten free food so I have to drop a star for that.

E.Visited Pauatahanui Lighthouse Cinema for a fundraiser, and we loved it. Service was great, food was yummy too. Loved the cinema seats soo very comfy. A hidden gem but so worth the visit 😁😁
