E.Highly recommend seating & prices. Not enough options for snacks & beverages. Cleanliness seemed above average. Customer service was average not bad but not exceptional just okay. Would recommend due to ticket prices cheaper than most Hoyts & Event Cinemas movie ticket prices.

L.Went to a showing of Venom at 10:15am on a Sunday and we were the only ones in the theater, fabulous experience. They serve Pepsi products at the concession and are checking vaccination passes at the door. This theatre has assigned seating.

G.I went to the cinema at Porirua to see Black Widow film, which was based on her life pre- Avengers. Very good staff there to handle your tickets and food for munching on. Very comfy seats in the No. 5 Cinema.
P.Convenient location in the mall. Ample parking. Good service. Standard sound quality. Standard popcorn, ice-cream and drinks. A good enjoyable experience overall.
M.My family watched black widow after we went shopping and they put all our shopping away for us the seats are comfy and tickets were $12 each we could take our own food inside from the supermarket so we saved money aa there are 6 in our family

Toilets inside the cinema and full of parking inside the mall. Tickets are $12 but sometimes it get crazy busy so better to buy online
M.It was a great experience especially due to the Covid restrictions right now. Plenty of precautions were taken for public safety. If you plan to watch a movie soon I encourage you to come here.
S.Seats are comfortable, great prices now with $10 tickets. Make sure you purchase tickets early as standing in a long queue within 30 mins of movie start time can be stressful. Purchasing online is convenient but I don't agree with having a booking fee so we don't purchase tickets online.

R.Regardless of the movie I go to see, regardless if I like it or not, I have always found the staff to be courteous and helpful even during the busiest times. Facilities are well kept and they've never had any problems answering my queries from session times, to seating and even e-ticketing. Highly recommend. Plenty of parking and their social media game is strong so there are fb giveaways, specials, exclusive sessions etc. Always had a great experience there which will hopefully continue into the future.
D.Great cinema. Roomy, comfortable seats and I have always found the theaters clean and tidy. Prices are the best around, allowing you to take along the family without breaking the bank. Friendly staff.

D.It's okay, nothing special. But seating position can get a bit of rework, one night I had someone tall sitting in front of me, and obstructed my view 1/4 of the screen, had to move seat, good thing the cinema wasn't full. But still, online pre booking for the seat seemed like a waste.

D.A good cinema in Porirua handy to the North City Centre and Trains and with only about 30 minutes walk from home for me as well. With Reading cinemas in Wellington closed it is the only Reading Cinemas in Wellington. I found the staff very helpful today 5th June when. I booked a movie on line for some reason I thought it was at 1.30pm not 11.30am as I booked it atv11.30amThey let me watch the movie so wanted to see for free and brought my phone to me as I had accidentally left in another cinema
R.Porirua Readings is a comfortable 5 cinema complex at a low price, i.e. $12 (new price April 2019)for Adults; they have a new seating system (you choose your seats) just like the old days. This system is in line with other events where you book your seats as they do oversea, 'the USA' AMC Theatres, Regal, Cinemark, Cineplex, following this example. There is still room to improve as in the USA.
They need to communicate to the movie goers that food leftovers should not be left behind for the staff to clean up ( this is not their home but public property) and also that staff need to insure ticket holder find there seats and are seated in there allocated seat. Movie goers need to be early and be seated before the movie starts, so less disruption.
I choose to always support my local business and enjoy watching new movies on the Big screens, and I am a Readings club member supporter. Porirua cinema is disadvantage by its big Brother in Wellington that has 10 cinema screens and a Gold Lounge, but it has benefited from the temporary closer of the Central Cinema since Decembers 2016 to March 2017 due to the earthquake and demolition of its car park. Porirua Readings cinema serves the district well and with more support and events can Survive. Reading cinema prices increase from $11.00 to $12.00 for Adults as of April 2019, online $13.50.
As at 27 August 2020 prices have increased from $12.00 to $14.00 per person.
E.Have been going to this cinema on and off over the past twenty years since it opened as Movieland - nothing much has changed in terms of decor over the years apart from the new seats that were put in when it became Reading. Pre-movie atmosphere is far too dark, the same in-cinema lighting and teal decor is used since the cinema opened twenty years ago. My most recent two visits I have been disappointed with the actual presentation of the movies I've seen. I don't think the sound is the best, always sounds a bit quiet and tinny and the prints haven't been framed correctly which is a basic expectation when you're paying for the experience. Always want to support the local cinema, but unfortunately Reading in Wellington and (the now defunct Event cinema out the Hutt were superior experiences overall. I suspect the cinema can't really have the full sound experience as the complex is small with all the cinemas quite close to each other and probably the sound-proofing was cheap as it was council funded when it was built.
T.Great cinema...they have a line specially for eticket purchases so youcam skip the line...not many people use it which can make the lines long to wait in...need more staff when that happens. You can take in food just no glass drinks and hot food...so no worries when u wana take ur own munchies

A.Reasonably priced, but very average cinema. Great for families, but there are a range of great cinemas in Wellington Central that are much more worthwhile for everyone else.
D.The service tonight was good, toilets were clean which can be a change for a lot of public toilets. And the seats didn't have popcorn or lollies stuck to the seats.
S.Very comfortable seating, friendly staff and managers, surround sound is checked and great wifi access point so grab you some munchies grab you a ticket and see use at the Reading Cinemas.
A.Staff are always friendly and helpful! Very clean! A range of movies to go and see. Enjoy this cinema. Only upgrade would be to get leather seating.
O.The excitement of going to the movies in Porirua has returned since all the other major Wellington theatres were earthquake damaged. Make sure you park in the 4hour park downstairs of you're watching a movie or you will get an infringement fine.
S.We lined up for tickets to see jumanji 20 mins in the line only to be told it's sold out! they should actually have a sign saying if the movie is sold out
J.Nice cinema never too busy, depends on the film and times of course, would recommend buying own popcorn though food is a little on the steep side.
R.The online booking feature is great, means we don't have to get there too early and can just collect the tickets. Great place to take the grandkids!
S.Love this place seats were soft and cosy so much so my husband fell asleep through an action movie. Screen is huge real loud. Enjoyed it.
L.One of the walls in their dark room turns into a giant tv screen and starts playing films. A welcome surprise when I was expecting to sit in the dark eating popcorn for two hours.

A.Small cinema, but cheap and the screen is a bit higher than usual, so even tall people in front don't block the view (almost feels like you are leaning back a fraction as you watch, but quite comfortable)

S.Seats comfortable and staff friendly and very helpful. However food and drinks very expensive. Also lines were long and it cost extra to book tickets online.
