Beautiful garden. Childrens playground at the start of the park and a nice lakeside stroll from the Queenstown end to the the opposite direction. Along the way, you will come to an exposed outcrop which provides an excellent view of the mountains. It gets windy at this juncture. On the return leg, you can walk on the inner side which gives a very different experience with beautiful pine trees, a rose garden and well kept grounds. A short but enjoyable experience and can be a good place to picnic as well.

Beautiful gardens located in the centre of Town on the edge of Lake Wakatipu. Great place for a stroll or family picnic. It has free parking.

A very scenic place to walk around and unwind and take in the sights. There is also frisbee golf to play and great views of the park and Lake Wakatipu.

Queenstown Gardens – dazzling. Massive area, with wide-open spaces. The management team unquestionably did a great job maintaining the gardens and planting. The grass was trimmed to the same length, uniformly. Everything was so well-protected and cared for. Indeed, a lush and green environment. Breathtaking!

A beaut walkabout park with plenty of scenic photo opportunities.

We went for a walk here and ended up going every day for the 4 day stay. Very lovely, calming and relaxing walks. The park also has an excellent playground for those who have kids. There is also a stunning rose garden and a pond in the center.

Wandered Friday and Saturday night for Luma Festival. Just amazing! So well set out and fantastic light art. Also went back today and there was a lovely man making giant bubbles, stood and watched for ages! Trees all look beautiful in their Autumn colours. Interesting sculptures and disc golf too. Also ice skating rink amd skateboard Park.

Nice place for a quick walk. Beautiful views all around. Great laughter could be heard coming from a group playing frisbee golf. Very clean and fresh. Panic place for all ages.

Such a beautiful place to visit, literally in town.. there is no allocated visitors carpark so you need to park off street and walk a short distance.,But in saying that any where you walk in Queenstown is a pleasant one with great views so win win! A great playground for the kids to enjoy aswell as being a Lakefront attraction. Cafes within close range.

Such a great little park, walk around the lake, beautiful big red woods and a magical little rose garden. Best highlight is the Frisbee golf track - 18 holes - entertaining any time of the day or evening. You can hire a Frisbee at the Bathhouse Cafe or from the gardens $5 for the day and enjoy an easy hour or two playing the course...

Parked close to the ice skating rink and had a lovely and relaxing walk around the garden. Loved seeing the beautiful roses. It was a short walk to the waterfront, very convenient.

The garden is located at beautiful location in Queenstown. The entry is free and there is so much to do in one location. You can play frisbee, swim, go for a walk around the park or bike, just relax and sleep, read book or go on bike ride. It is so close to downtown and has so many shops and restaurants close by. Parking is free for 4 hours. Highly recommended for relaxing.

These parks are amazing their are two parks really . You walk though the double sided war memorial which on one side has all the soldiers that died and on the other side has all the soldiers that went to war. You walk past the flags and play ground and into the gardens ,it’s on a peninsula and at the time of year we were there the flowers were beautiful, you also walk past the bowling club to some large trees and walk around back to town by the waters edge watching the boats go past

Beautiful place to be and the frisbee golf course is a great laugh. Especially if you've never played before. You can get free fribee discs from most hostels

Such a nice garden and walkway beside the lake, provided a place for recreation and enjoyment.

Walkable from downtown, right on the edge of the lake, this is a great place to relax, take a stroll and enjoy the well kept flora. The children's play area is also very nice with great views of the lake. There is an ice skating arena as well.

Treading the walkways across Queenstown on a sunny Saturday is a great way to wind through hours on an afternoon. The markets will offer you a piece of Aotearoa in the creativity of those behind the tables of colorful trinkets that scatter across the walkway like a creatives corner. In this mix add live music and your walk can be cooled down with a nice beverage of choice.

Lovely to walk along the lake..

So being a Male in his mid 30s it's not often I get out to Botanical Gardens but I made the visit here in Queenstown and they were stunning. The colours were amazing and the park well kept. Cannot wait to take my family for a visit next time I have them here in Queenstown

Beautiful garden of Queenstown. The light show festival held in this garden was nice as it made of the light and sound effect which is good. There is also a small little bar area during the festival. The garden looks nice during the day time and the little pond in the garden is full of ducks. It is very good place for a walk or taking a break in the garden. You can also have a chance to see the lake and mountains. Just next to the town center means you can just walk around the town after having a break in the garden.

This gardens should definitely be on your list when you visiting Queenstoown. Great place for many reasons. First of all, you can park your vehicle for 4 hours maximum for free. Carpark is usually full of course but if you're lucky, you will save your self decent amount of cash. Clean and well maintained public toilets available just 190 meters from parking. Skate park next to it too. Surrounding area is perfect for jogging, relaxing or taking romantic walk. Amazing view pretty much from each side of park on Queenstown and area around the city. Closer to city center you will find playground for children's, coffee shop and drinking water fountains near by. If you visiting city just for a few hours this is your place to start. 4 hours were just enough to explore the city and move on to next destination.

Very beautiful area to walk around and there is a lot to do for all age groups. You could enjoy the walking, biking trails, ponds, rose gardens, frisbee golf, ice skating rink, bowls club, skate park or just laying everywhere on the grass and enjoy the day.

You have to visit this place in autumn! The trees and the whole garden itself make magic in this place. You can sit around just to enjoy the view or either take a walk through the paths that connects to Queenstown trail.

Visited Queenstown botanical gardens and loved the Autumn 🍂 colour of trees and flowers. It was so pretty. Can’t wait to go back.

You can't make the ducks come, but they're here in numbers around the garden pond and they made the entire park walk worth it and more. The local Queenstown Lions Club also had a container full of natural duck food available for $2 a bag which gives you the ability to command your own duck duck army! Outside of this, the flower gardens were looking a bit lacking, yet it could be the time of year plus we saw people out maintaining the grounds. There's also giannttttttttt sequoia gigantium wellingtonia trees and others to marvel up at and around. If you want to have a picnic on the grass or on a bunch shaded by these behemoths, this would be a great place to do it!

A great place for a walk, with shoreline trail, sculptures, and water fowl aplenty. When my wife and I visited they had an honor system bird food station, so for 2$ NZ you could feed the ducks. My wife loved them!

Relaxing place just a stone's throw away from the town centre. Offers great views of Lake Wakatipu and its busy jetties.

What a beautiful place! Could sit by the pond and read for hours (we did!) watching the ducks and ducklings swim around amongst the flowering water lilies. What a lovely place for a walk with different landscapes, vistas and things to do on the park - we didn’t have a go at frisbee golf, but it looked great. The park is beautifully maintained and clean. Worth a visit for all in Queenstown.

I spent many hours at the garden during our 4 days in Queenstown, especially the rose garden. It was very tranquil & so may blooms in the summer. There are so many gigantic pine trees too. After a long travel, it gave me the space I needed.

If you come to Queenstown you must do the walk through and around the Queenstown gardens - magic beautiful space that is a picture with every view. I can't speak highly enough of the garden & walks.

A very nice area to sit and relax, there are public toilets and plenty of benches and areas for children to play on. There is also a nice walk that goes around the outside of the park which is mainly through woods.

Nice park in the centre of Queenstown, nice place to get away from the tourist crowds. This park has great lake view, beautiful flowers, giant tress with the magnificent mountains as background, this makes it popular among the locals. We enjoyed the evening stroll here.

Awesome disc golf course, although etiquette wasn't always followed by the other players.

Nice garden, amazing and peaceful stroll along the lake, perfect place for relaxing alone or for chatting with friends. Really recommended for a very wide lake view. If you are lucky, like me today, you can see a duck with a dozen of little nice and fluffy ducklings. 😊

Was good to walk around this garden, though we couldn’t see much people but I am sure on sunny day it would be crowded. Good for small kids, they can play around and enjoy themselves. If you are a fitness freak then it’s good place to do running or walking which I am not 😛

Beautiful afternoon walk if you've had a busy day in Queenstown. The gardens aren't huge and their is the chance to feed the ducks for $2. It has a lovely quaint bridge that make for a great photo opportunity. For a longer walk you can walk along the frisbee circuit which takes you to the other side of the lake and past the ice skating rink. Rose gardens are spectacular, lots of shady spots for a rest if you need.

Not best time to come to Queenstown so much construction going on along inner center traffic and signs very poor

Lovely spot for a morning or afternoon walk. It has little ponds with ducks, and you can even buy feed so kids (or big kids) can feed the ducks. It also has disc golf course built into it, and is a great idea for a cheap and fun thing to do while in Queenstown. You will have to buy/rent the discs if you want to play, but you can find them in town. Also has an amazing play area we saw on the walk back. Great spot for families.

An excellent garden with an exquisite spread of flowers and natural landscapes. Love the huge trees all over the garden. One needs to go there a couple of times just to see the effort put in by the authorities to maintain the environment.

Pretty busy but has an amazing view of Lake Wakatipu and the Lady of the lake, The Earnslaw. This is also a great place for kids to have fun!

I love the views of the Remarkables from this garden. I also liked that it's got a hanging swing near the lake. I enjoyed the tranquillity it gave me while sitting near the rocks by the lake. I also loved the scent from d pine cones when i walked deep within the park.

Visited the garden around september, it was a bit cold and windy but still spectacular! great place to walk while enjoying the view! the flowers and trees were beautiful. love the area where youre surrounded by tall trees. there are also benches where you can stay and enjoy nature for a bit longer. definitely a place you shouldnt miss when visiting queenstown!

A great asset to Queenstown, the Gardens were set aside by the founders of Queenstown to save it from development in 1866. Lots of points of interests around the gardens, some small (look for the baby ducklings in the pond in Spring and summer) to the enormous Californian redwoods. Every year, at the end of January, Remarkabke Theatre stages a promonade theatre show which is well worth a look if you are in town. Luma is another regular event on the Queens Birthday weekend in June. Its a lighting extravaganza with artists pushing the boundaries of what can be done with lights. Other events occur throughout the year.

A beautiful place to visit

The Luna light display was brilliant. It was such a magical experience and a bargain for just $6 and a delight for all ages.

What an amazing place to stroll on a hot summer's day. The gardens are mainly english with a mix of conifers and deciduous so I would imagine that they would be lovely to visit in the autumn too. We managed to find street parking in the shade near the entrance to the ice rink. There's wheelchair accessible gardens and trees to sit in or travel through. We hired frisbees from the i-site to enable us to play frisbee golf on the oldest marked course in NZ. Just a short walk and you are on the waterfront where you can relax at a café or on the beach or at restaurants

Totally agree with everything everyone says about the gardens. I wanted to do a seg tour through here, the rest of our group didn’t. Majority wins- so we didn’t. We strolled thru instead. Just as appealing. And I don’t think you need to do it on a Seg. They’re so close to town, well they’re literally an extension of town. Another one of those- “can’t come to Queenstown and not go here” type of places....

I love walking the gardens especially spring and early summer,when the flowers and roses are at their best. They also have some good entertainment activities going on from time to time

Veru good place designed by the local authorities of Queenstown for the people of town and for all the tourists who come here to enjoy the perfect combination of adventure and nature. You can enjoy long walk along the the lake wakatipu and feel a very different experience of cold air kissing on your chick and the experince can be doubled when you have some friends or partner with you. The maintenance is also very good appreciated

Lovely place for a morning walk. Free entry, fairly quiet and great views over the lake and back over the Queenstown.

This was a great place to park our car when we wanted to eat in the town center. We really enjoyed the stroll through the gardens and the views from there.
