We stayed 3 nights in early January and thought the rates were very reasonable. Lovely well kept camping grounds right on the lake. A great place for kids to swim as it's shallow for a long way out. Such a great area to stay, and so many things to do that are only a short drive away.

Really nice spot overlooking the lake, good spacious shower/toilet block and a fully stocked kitchen with large fridge/freezer, added bonus is the staff are super friendly

Great place to stay at in Rotorua which, when until we arrived didn't realise backed right onto the lake. We stayed in a cabin and it is extremely spacious with a double bed, and three single beds. Small but useable kitchen. The people while we were there were great and it's in a good location, just a 10 minute drive away from the more busy area of Rotorua.

Many other camp sites mentioning lake side in the profile, but sometimes are separated by a walkway or bushes, this one really is by the lake! The site offers serenity and pure zen moment! If you are looking for a camp site to wake up with the view, this is the place! Not the best facilities, but we got the value we want it - THE VIEW IS AMAZING.

The lakeside view is beautiful, my daughter likes the ducks very much. They are so cute. Showers and toilets are a bit cold in winter but no problem in summer time.

Stay the night and had a good view next to the lake would stay there again

Great spot, lake edge site. Good price. Older, smaller camp but is great. Plenty hot water for showers. Helenis supper helpful. This is 3rd stay & we'll definitely be back.

Lovely spot, staff friendly and helpful. Booking a particular site is problematic, the last 3 times we have stayed here, on arrival, the sites we booked were occupied by someone else! Despite that, we still got an alternative site right on the lake front. Help is needed in the Administration dept.

Stayed here last night. The owners were lovely and accommodating and gave great recommendations of what to do and what to avoid (overpriced tourist traps). If you’re going in and out late at night they give you a key card for access. I like this because it means you don’t have randoms coming in and out. Nice and quiet. Appreciated that the kitchen was unlocked 24/7 as our camper power wasn’t working and we had to put all of our food in the fridge and freezer. The kitchen was quite small, but had two sinks and a boiling water dispenser. Also a fridge and chest freezer. And what a view! If I can figure out how to add pics to my review I will. Perfect spot to watch the sun rise over Lake Rotorua. Gorgeous black swans come right up to the banks! And affordable is right: $30 for a powered spot for 2. This was in September, so shoulder season, but everywhere else we’ve stayed has been running $46-50+ per night. That can be hard to swallow when you’re coming in late in the evening and have to be out by 10. $30 NZD is a fair price.

We had a lovely quiet nights sleep! Helen was great and charging our car was a breeze. The kids enjoyed riding their scooters around and the playground. Would highly recommend

Nice cheap accommodation on the shore of Lake Rotorua. Still had all the amenities though. Grand kitchen, and nice outside dining area as well as a lounge. 200Mb free WiFi wasn't strong in our site in the far corner of the campsite but OK in the amenities block.

First time staying here and it is incredible. The new managers Helen & Wayne are very welcoming and friendly, oh and ofcrouse Charlie the dog. A must stay in Rotorua!! It’s affordable and the perfect location - only a 10 minute drive to town and a 10 second walk to the lake.

Really affordable and clean. Great for kids, playground. Host Jan & Gary are wonderful, really down to earth and have a fantastic sense of humor. Great customer service. There is no pool but Lake frontage great for water sports,fishing, cooling off in water from the heat. Take your boat or other toys. Really relaxing and quiet spot. Ngongotaha village a short walk and Rotorua city 5- 7mins drive.

Stumbled upon this lovely park. We were looking for a non powered tent site but we were interested in swimming in the lake. The owners were extremely nice and gave us a lake front powered site (usually for camper vans) for no extra charge. Beautiful waking up to the lake every morning and very nice facilities to use!

We spent a month in New Zealand never staying more than two nights in one accommodation meaning we visited our fair share of holiday parks and campsites in our van. I can safely say this place was hands down the best we stayed in! The lady on reception was welcoming and gave us the most amazing spot on the lake, you literally couldnt get any closer to the lake front if you wanted to. The sunrise views in the morning were just perfect. The bathroom facilities were spotlessly clean, modern and well maintained. The site also offers kitchen and laundry facilities. Its a great central location to visit Wai-o-tapu and Hobbington and best of all its great value for money! We would have loved to stay longer. My one critism is that the management ask you have 3 minute showers, for me that virtually impossible especially if I want to wash my hair and shave my legs! Thanks for a great stay Willowhaven!

We were recommended Willowhaven by some travellers we met on the road. So glad we followed their advice. Willowhaven is a fabulous little holiday park. Our spot was right on Lake Rotarua (amazing view). The hosts were friendly and helpful and the toilets/showers were the cleanest and best designed we have used over our many years of camping.

Very friendly & helpful. Can get a site, right on the lakefront (with booking). Good amenities. Not huge so laid back. Great location just out of main town. Will stay here again.

It was one of the best holiday parks I've visited - a calm place located by the lake - amazing view from the camper or house trailer, with an access to the kitchen, bathrooms, electricity, etc., and surrounded by a fresh grass. The company of ducks, geese and marvellous black swans was very refreshing! Internet addicts can also buy some transfer. I would definately visit the Willowhaven again!

I stayed here during a brief visit to fish Lake Rotorua. You will not beat the price or the setting anywhere in the area. This holiday park is right on the lakeshore! Open your tent and watch the sunset over the lake, or grab your rod and go for a fish. Facilities are super clean, well-kept and convenient in this compact park. The ONLY place to stay on the area.

Great campground with the most beautiful view of Rotorua Lake. Prices are really good. Only thing was that you are not able to use the restrooms when they are cleaning. It takes a while.

We were camping there in a tent and had no wifi signal at all. Also had no wifi in and around the kitchen the tv and lounge area and toilets. Was a big let down for me.

A really neat, clean, affordable park with well thought out facilities and fantastic proprietors who went out of their way to make us and our children welcome. Right next to a great childrens park and walking distance to the beach I would definately recommend it - 11/10!

Quiet and clean. Good spot just on the edge of the lake. Only complaint would be that there are no power points in the bathroom for hair dryers etc.

Loved this campsite. Come in a bit early to get a spot reserved by the lake. $17 pp for a powered site with all facilities. Highly recommend this place for your stay 😊

My husband and I recently stayed at Willowpark and loved it. Jan and Gary were welcoming and friendly and the place was nice and clean. We originally only went for a few days but ended up staying 9. We'll be back

As lakeside as you can get with camping or chalet options for accommodation. Basic paid wifi with connection not great. Boat ramp next door and close to shops with Ngongotaha a short drive away. Lovely spot by the lake. Playground for children and bbq areas.

Ted and Pat were very kind and nice people, and the cabin was good for what we wanted. However, when I went to take my infant daughter to play in their playground it was in a pretty sorry state. The safety net around the trampoline was in tatters and it was in no state to be jumped on. the stairs going up to the slide and pole had big nails sticking out of them and the steps appeared to have some rot in them. and the bark playground had some quite large puddles. the swings were old and not in a very good state. My wife and i felt a bit sad for our daughter seeing a lovely big, clean playground in the camp ground just before them, and we almost took her over there to play instead.

Had a great stay best price anywhere in area. Lovely kitchen as well as beautiful bathrooms and washing machines and tumble drier and yes their tumble dryer really dries first time :-) Very friendly service

We had a pleasant stay for two nights in our Motorhome right in front of the lake. Facilities are old but clean. Very good value for the money.

the place itself is quite nice and serene, however im not sure why, but the owner wasn’t very friendly or helpful when we tried booking and also upon arrival. i feel like theres no excuse good enough for being rude to paying customers.

Nice lake spot for a very reasonable price. Only disappointing things were the wifi needing to have the code constantly re-entered and the teeny kitchen.. Weak complaints from me though, was a very nice stay

very tired since our last stay. Not even a wee bar of soap in bathroom. Framed bed had no nuts on the bolts.

Jan was super in dealing with us. We virtually took over the place plus the conference room & barbque area on both nights. Great price, great room, great time :)

Beautiful and so quiet, away from the big city. I had a shoulder operation back in February and sleeping on the bed has been a bit uncomfortable for me but other than that it is bliss. 😎😎

Really easy place to get to and stay away from the rest of Rotorua craziness. Our site was right on the lake and was mostly quiet.

Clean but unmaintained, shabby cabins. No curtain in kitchen so light shone through to the bed. Couch right under TV , so we got sore necks watching shows.

New owners as I was a regular here, its clean and safe being in close proximity to the shops and bus stops. I rate them a 4 Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐

(Translated) I stayed in a tent for 7 nights from March 14th. I did not make a reservation, but I was able to accept it. I asked the couple of managers to set up a tent under a tree a few meters from the shore of Lake Rotorua, where the tent site was a bit unreasonable. ($ 15 per day) It is the best place with a good view, but on windy days the sound of the waves is a bit noisy but I like it. The facilities are a bit outdated but the toilet and shower rooms are in good condition and very clean. The kitchen room is also equipped with a refrigerator and a freezer, which is convenient, but the cooking space is small for the number of park users. (I used only the refrigerator because it was a my stove) The laundry machine was sometimes waiting in line. Also, if you have the chance to go to Rotorua, I definitely want to use it. (Original) ３月１４日からテントで７泊しました。予約もせず飛び込みでしたが快く受付出来ました。管理人のご夫婦にテントサイトは少し無理を言って区画されている所では無いロトルア湖畔から数mの木の下にテントを張ることを頼んだけどOKでした。（１日＄15）景色も良く最高の場所ですが、風の強い日は波の音がちょっとうるさいですが私は好きです。設備は、トイレ＆シャワールームはちょっと古いけど手入れが行き届いてすごく清潔です。キッチンルームも冷蔵庫や冷凍庫も備え付けてあり便利ですが、調理スペースがパークの利用者の人数の割には狭いと思います。（私はマイガスコンロですので冷蔵庫のみ使いました）　ランドリーマシンは時々順番待ちの時も有りました。また、ロトルアに行くチャンスがあればぜひ利用したいです。
