Reviews of Polynesian Spa
V.
This was a great experience. We booked a 2 hour treatment. Soak and massage.
Facilities were nice and clean. My masseur was great kind and communicated well. She made sure I was comfortable at all times. Views are breath taking. On my to do list in winter.
L.
Great location with a stunning view of the lake. There are several pools and a cobblestone path for foot reflexology. They recommend you take off any jewellery as it could get damaged from the minerals in the water. I don't recommend getting a locker. It's about $5, and they only lock once, so you can't open and close it multiple times. They have storage bins in pigeonhole shelves. Take your own towels. The water goes up to 41°C which is amazing on a cooler day! Overall, it was a great experience; I would certainly do it again.
M.
Great experience! I want to repeat it already.
We purchase a couples spa day, which included a relaxing massage, a private hot water tub with view to the sky and a meal.
As we arrived we were explained everything needed in detail, so we new exactly what to expect and at the exact time. I forgot the lady’s name who gave me the massage, but she was very professional, made me feel comfortable and made the whole experience to be just greater.
After the massages we went to the private hot tub and then to have dinner. Dinner was also very good, it was more cafe style kind of food, but was delicious anyways.
Thank you guys for the experience and I am looking forward to coming back.

World class spas that will rejuvenate your tired and sore muscles 💪 I enjoyed the Deluxe area which had an assortment of thermally heated pools located against the mesmerising lake view.
My favourite was the Priest Spring Mineral Water Pool which had healing properties for arthritis and sore body. The cold water pool plunge at the premise is a must. Juggling between two hot and cold water is an out of the world experience with loads of health benefits.
I would come again and again to this destination as it is totally value for money and the best part is, there is No Time Limit! My friends and I enjoyed the entire day soaking, poses for amazing picturesque photographs and snacking at the Cafe!
R.
Nice and relaxing. It's not over crowded which is great. We would normally get the massage and wrap package. We usually have a spa (including the private one) before our treatment. They have good sized robes for bigger people, unlimited towels and lockers available. The massage is relaxing (wouldn't recommend if you need some deep tissue work), the wrap is nice especially after you've had a shower (which is next to your room). Your skin will love you for it.
W.
The pools are fantastic in winter but a bit hot in summer. To provide hair dryers in the change room will be an added bonus!
C.
Loved our visit here today. Treated us to a private spa and time in the Pavillion Pools and it was worth it. Staff made all the little things easy and it was serene and quiet. Just what I needed.
Our package included a juice and towels and the juice was fresh and delicious. Well worth the cost for an iconic kiwi spa.
Update in 2022 - just had a massage there and can recommend the spa and Angus the massage therapist. Great experience and I feel very pampered!
E.
Very hot... But gorgeous views 8 pools in the area I was in.. Make sure you take heaps of water. Lovely reflexology walkway for feet..
M.
We did the deluxe lake spa as liked the idea of a more private area as well as towel, locker shampoo etc. While thinking it would be quiet/calm as it was attached to the spa side of the operations unfortunately this section has no age limits. This meant babies screaming and small children running round which cut somewhat into the tranquility. They've paid to be there the same as I so I don't hold it against anyone I may have just chosen a private pool was I aware prior. Pools themselves were great and very soothing and checked regularly. Bathroom was clean however some of the shampoo dispensers were empty. Some of the shrubs lakeside could do with a trim as they are partially blocking the otherwise gorgeous view. Still definitely worth a visit.
N.
So special. My wife and I had a couples mud wrap and massage. I was a little hesitant at first but both Angus and Evelyn made us feel quite special and they certainly know how to do their jobs. Fantastic. Loved every minute of it. Highly recommended AAA +++
J.
The Pavilion pools are great, but def should try the Delux lake spa! Amazing!
J.
We had a lovely time there relaxing in one of their pools overlooking the lake. Great view. And the flora is really something. Got some ideas of the native flora there I'd like to have at home. Staff very friendly and helpful. Thanks people.
R.
Highly recommend when visiting Rotorua, the pools are very relaxing and followed by a spa package - I have never felt more relaxed. Anita was my spa therapist, and she was amazing - so professional and kind, I had a massage and wrap which was the perfect accompaniment to the pools. Can't recommend enough - overall was such a treat, and I definitely will be back!
C.
Fantastic visit. Not many people and various temperatures were much appreciated. Loved the warm loungers and the proximity to the Lake! Couldnt be better. Go for the delux one. Includes towels and showers wuth soap etc
D.
Polynesian Spa ♨ wowwww!!! Lovely pools and scenic view from the pools, clean bathroom and so many options to choose from the package/menu 😍
S.
Always a lovely relaxing experience in the pavilion pools!!
Staff are very pleasant and the environment has all the measures in place to protect staff and clients from COVID
Everything is clean and I highly recommend getting a ice cream they are delicious!!
100% recommend going to Polynesian spa
d.
Definitely worth while and it has a private spa , very enjoyable and relaxing
E.
Nice hot pools and clean facilities. The alkaline pools feel very soft and moisturising on the skin.
D.
Amazing private spas but the time goes by fast when relaxing sadly! Worth it. Has a outside shower which is handy and cute. Little changing room in the room with a little sink and mirror which is nice and private.
R.
The private lake pool relaxing and beautiful scenery, however, no privacy as we had to rush to change and get out and open door when we were told that we would get 5 to 7 minutes to change. Had to open door midway as staff member did not listen when we said we are coming out, also did not check vaccine pass.
C.
Superb experience at the Polynesian Spa. Went at the opening, and got the Deluxe Lake Spa package. We stayed about 1h30 experiencing the 5 baths! The staff was very kind and the place very relaxing.
Shout-out to the cold bath!
The changing rooms were very clean and welcoming. You even have shampoo, conditioner, body soap & body lotion to clean yourself and finish relaxing before you go one with your day. Would 100% recommend.
j.
Booked a spa package after a day of mountainbiking. The private spa area is idyllic and my only regret was that I didn't spend more time enjoying it. The treatment was so relaxing and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
S.
Very relaxing visit in the late evening. We choose the deluxe entry which included towels, toiletries and entry to a quieter section of the spa. Highly recommended.
M.
Amazing location! Great staff and reasonable pricing ! We hired a lake view private spa for 30minutes and it had its own private changing area and shower and the pool was so lovely! Can't wait to come back to Rotorua to go again!
D.
Best place to reset, recharge & just relax in comfort. Not only were the muscles feeling better but also my skin after a good two hours soaking.
Staff were friendly & ambience was kept at a peaceful level.
J.
Experience was ok, we went to deluxe lake front spa, changing rooms weren't as clean as they could be and 1 pool had a sharp object in it which cut our feet, there was no one to raise this with when we left as pool was closing. We were also charged full price for 2 under 2 year olds. Which makes ot really not a family friendly treat.
G.
I would like to thank the staff for their quick response today to assist my mother when she lost consciousness in the private pool.
Your prompt response made a huge impact on the conclusion of our trip to Rotorua, without you we would have spent the last day seeking medical care.
F.
We had so much fun spending our morning on the thermal family pool, my son swimming at the 36° while I soak at the 40° pool...so relaxing and refreshing! And the price was discounted, it was not crowded and worth spending every penny! Would definitely return and we will try the deluxe pool..
A.
We paid for the deluxe spa pools , 4 alkaline pools and 1 acidic pool to enjoy, great experience and only few people were there. Great setup as towel , hairdryers, toiletries were provided in changing room. If not for Covid, I bet this place would have been filled with tourist.
J.
Love the tranquillity of the place and the thermal experience
K.
Booked a massage at the retreat spa. Loved the deluxe pools with the view overlooking the lake. The massage was fabulous & thanks for the free juice. Lookin forward to our next visit
E.
The best way for me to start the holiday. I had the Deluxe Spa Package and used the deluxe and private pools. The massage, lunch and spa gift was a bonus. It's a well maintained staple for a trip to Rotorua.
V.
Was very wonderful experience, face massage and body massage is a must. Only thing is they did not have many packages for couples. Which I believe they can create more.
v.
Really nice spot.
Went to the adults only pools and it was really quiet on Saturday if afternoon.
Only thing I would say is a bit pricey.
P.
The Polynesian Spa was amazing and super relaxing!
We weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised with what we received. The staff service at the front desk was great and the facilities were excellent.
We went with the Pavilion Pools side and were not disappointed. The price point was well worth it and tee view of the lakes were stunning.
We spent 3 hours there relaxing after a day of skiing and it really helped with the muscle pain we were feeling.
There were a good variety of pool temperature options ranging from 38-41 degrees Celsius (Fahrenheit also posted by each pool).
All in all it was a great way to unwind for the day.
n.
Okay it's nice but for the prices 100% not worth it pool's don't look appealing and the private rooms are so small feels like your in a baby bath like if it was $100 for a couple worth it.
P.
I had heard a lot about Polynesian Spa so I went there one evening. I loved their facilities, staff & food. Their cost is justified with all the amenities that they provide. The private pool is totally worth paying for. The 1-hour massage was very relaxing. The food that I got after the massage was also tasty. All the 4 hot pools are lovely. Highly recommended activity to do in Rotorua.
W.
Awesome place to go in Rotorua. Definitely worth the money. Different options available from family pools to public pools and private pools as well. We booked a private pool which was fantastic and equipped with shower and drinking facilities. Lots of parking space in front to use. Great experience here and wonderful memory. Definitely will go back when going down next time for leisure.
J.
We had a couples spa day, which included outdoor Geothermal Hot Springs pools, a Deluxe Romantic relaxing massage, a private hot water spa with outside view to the sky above and Lunch.
As we arrived and greeted by friendly staff, our instructions were given as to what and where we needed to be were clear. Our massage therapists, Haley & Anita were wonderful and caring, making sure we were enjoying our massages as they progressed, very professional, & we were made me feel comfortable and assured. They also gave us a little gift pack on conclusion of the treatment which were the oils-scents used.
After the massages we went to the private hot tub and then to have our lunch at the café, which had been advised of our selection earlier in the morning, so quick service. Thank you, Polynesian Spa, for making our visit so relaxing and enjoyable. Would recommend to all who need some care and pampering. We are looking forward to coming back again soon.
S.
Lovely place and experience but time allowed in the private pool is way too short!! 30 minutes is allowed but that includes the time to get undressed, spending time in the pool, showering afterwards and getting dressed. They should just charge for at least an hour or a couple of hours and include food or at least drinks like they do at the Onsen hot pools in the South Island. Just as you start to relax you have to rush back out.
D.
Lovely experience. It would be nice to have music in the massage rooms to block out the surrounding sounds of people talking outside, rubbish bins moving, masseuse breathing and the seagulls squawking
V.
My partner and I absolutely loved it, privacy, customer service, quiet, view and changing our booking at the last minute which we we're very grateful for thanks polynesian spa for the great experience
V.
Super beautiful and relaxing! Gorgeous natural geothermal pools with views of Rotorua lakes and the many, many birds. Nice boutique store attached where you can buy mud masks from the area. Not busy during the day but can get quite hot under the sun in a pool that’s 41 degrees C!
C.
It has been years since I have visited the Polynesian Spa. Just like the last time I left fully revived, relaxed and at peace. I look forward to my next visit!
L.
Lovely, many options of pools as well as private pools. We chose the romantic package for 2, which included a 'free' freshly squeezed juice from the Cafe. Views are beautiful.
C.
You've never been to New Zealand if you have not visited Rotorua Polynesian Spa. The private pool is great during winter. You have your own shower and changing room.. Keep you warm 🚿
S.
Superb, Outstanding and Awesome. Just try the Family Pool. Got a big swimming pool and 2 Alcaline Hot Pools. Got Water Slide for Kids. Got life Guards full time. Place even has 2 family changing rooms.. Just go there, soak in the sun and have funnnnnn
S.
This lovely spot to relax in is really close to the Government gardens. While I liked the experience itself, the price might be a little steep for the half hour you get your own spa pool for. Definitely takes the stress out of travelling though.
S.
Great service! Nice environment. Did the pools and a body polish and mud wrap treatment. I think three hours passed. And I'm obese and didn't feel self conscious here. The health juice included was nice too and I couldn't not buy stuff at the store even though I didn't need it. Thank you for making my birthday treat to myself so good.
S.
One of the best hot springs in the Southern Hemisphere, given the touch of luxury they add to the natural phenomenon that makes Rotorua special. The view, café and store are just as incredible as the spa, but prices are rather questionable.
D.
So awesome. We got the private pool and it was beautiful and peaceful and we didn’t realise but you can go butt naked cause it’s just you and the lake view hehehe 😝 Loved it! Also, 30 minutes seems short but it really isn’t - you get so hot and so relaxed that you don’t need more time than that, promise.
D.
This is a beautiful place to relax. Several spa area to select from. I love the De Luxe Spa with the view across the lake.
Towels and lockers included in this one. Relax and enjoy the pools from 35 to 43 degrees C. Different springs ♨️ with different waters.
F.
very lovely! we booked in for the delux spa area. when we went it was not packed or over crowed.ball towels and body wash is provided. Had access to lockers. All these finer details definitely made is worth the visit. The pools are small and well positioned for privacy. Great view of the lake! we were even able to access the kids spa area which is very basic but again lovely. Just a bit of advice it is not a pool so if you're thinking of taking your young ones, there is not really anything for them to do. The staff are lovely and welcoming! 100% coming back next visit.
P.
I had a 60 minute mud massage , it was delightful- comes with free time in the hot pools beforehand, and a free juice after!
J.
Spent a few wonderful hours here. Went to the pavilion pools which are for years 12+ so there are no kids running around to make it a bit more relaxing. It was rainy and cold in Rotorua the entire week we were there but it was lovely in the pools. Definitely go will it's cheap but would be worth the full price anyway. Will be back!
j.
I’ve been away for seven months. Out filming the Book of Boba. Cool fight scenes, makeup… But one thing I’ve really missed is this hidden gem, here in my hometown Rotolua. Ahhhhhhhhhh… The Polynesian Spa. Come to New Zealand, try something new… Ah, there are no words…
G.
Just love coming here...either fir a swim in the pool or best, just relaxing in the hot pools.
Massage and pool package well worth it, a whole afternoon's relaxation.
O.
A lovely time as always... I do wish that the private pools were reserved for adults
L.
Guess this is a best spa with great location you can find in Rotorua, if u living in Rotorua city u can go there on morning afternoon and night~ always want have a spa in cold night or raining day~
N.
Various kinds mineral pools which is awesome. However I think the mineral level is not very high. Because I stayed one night in a motel, that motel provides a mineral pool as well, and that one has stronger sulfur. If you tried to touch your skin after the bath, you will feel your skin is extremely smoothly.
J.
Arrived here and booked in for sky view private spa pool. The staff member upgraded us for free on a lake view private spa pool as we mentioned it was our honeymoon
S.
My favorite place in Winter!!!
The Deluxe pools are wonderful and worth every penny! I recommend visit this place on weekdays, less people and pools are super clean. If you love to have a quiet space, sit or lay on the warm chair with a good book and enjoy the moment.
I also love the cafe at the entrance as well.
I had tea but smoothies and fresh fruits juices are amazing!
Will always be there whenever I have time☺️
S.
Relaxing afternoon
We chose to visit only the Adult Pools - which contained 8 mineral pools in an area reserved for adults only. We spent a relaxing afternoon testing out the various pools and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We deliberately timed our visit so that we arrived at mid afternoon on a weekday and and it wasn't too busy.
M.
Excellent gem in Rotorua! Slightly pricey but the experience you get is really worth it. We paid for 30 mins in the private rock pool with sky view, and enjoyed another hour or so in the public Geothermal pools (included in the price). Avoid the afternoon crowd by coming early.
The free cold pressed juice at the end of the session hits the spot!
D.
Was there during weekday and not crowded at all. Literally enjoy the hot pool by yourself. The changing room and shower facilities are great, towels and hair dryers are provided so hassle free and handy for women.
Some pool are with limited sheltered so you can still enjoy even with some rains.
(ps: penny saved by getting ticket on bookme)
K.
Beautiful relaxing place. Private lake view pools were hot and so nice.
J.
Ranked as one of the top 5 spas in the world and it did not disappoint. The only difficult part is to time your visit so you avoid all the older folks that may also want to use the facilities. LOL.
We were lucky, we came at 12:30pm on a Monday and so the place was virtually deserted save for a few other patrons to the spa.
My YEA signed up for a massage so the entrance fee was waived. I, however, just paid the entrance fee for the deluxe spa package which had access to the adults only area.
The spa is all about relaxing and recharging yourself. They have about 6 different pools that range from 32 to 40 degrees celsius.
The spa area itself is designed beautifully with a lots of lush greenery and it faces out into the lake as well.
This includes an alkaline water pool and an acidic mineral pool that is suppose to be helpful for joint pains and other maladies of the sort. The sign says they import the water from a private source so you can’t just get it anywhere.
I bounced around from each different temperature pool to soak away any aches and pains from all the hiking in our trip. I even grew really addicted to the cold water plunge and then hopping into the acidic mineral pool after. It was pretty invigorating.
There were a few Instagrammers out there taking photos but honestly, just take a few and enjoy yourself. I think we were lucky there was only 1 or 2 of those people at a pretty quiet time. I could imagine during peak hours, it can be a lot more annoying.
After about 2.5 hours meandering between the different hot pools and just relaxing, we called it a day. Our timing couldn’t have been better because as we were exiting the spa, we saw like 60+ senior roll in for their time in the pools. #goodtiming
Overall, I would highly recommend making a visit here. The entrance fee is reasonable and you can stay as long as you want.
A.
Absolutely must visit if you’re in Rotorua. The hot spring is so good, especially the Priest Pool where my aching muscles were totally relaxed. There are 2 types of entry, normal swimming pools or the spa with rock pools. I paid more for the spa experience as it includes towel and locker. You also rent swimming gear if you didn’t bring. The spa pools there are rated from warm to hot, left to right and it’s 36, 38, 40 and 42 deg C. So it’s a good idea to start with the warm one first. The famed Priest Pool is to the right and partially hidden. The view out is fantastic but I had a peek at the other side (normal pools) and their view is wider and I think much nicer. There is also 2 decks where the recliners are actually heated and it is quite relaxing to rest there even when wet.
T.
I would have rated higher if not for Miss Grumpy taking the temperatures of the pools. I dared to ask this lady if there was much silica in the pool I was newly in. The negative answer and lack of any help given was my reason for low rating. Was told the lady has worked there around 30 years by some locals in the pool, and that she is often rude to the young people who go.
I.
Nice Place, We wash there in 2015, we had a private room to swimming. clean room and friendly staff. recomende place for your while you in New Zealand
S.
Wow, what an amazing experience. My therapist, Anita, was outstanding. She is trained in Ayuverdic techniques, and gave a massage that was better than any I've ever had. Don't let her tiny size fool you - this lady knows what she is doing!
Everything has been so well done here. From the pre soak to the relaxation rooms. I cannot rave enough - just go and experience.
And as for that pesky virus thing. Don't worry. They've got good protocols in place to protect you. You're in good hands 😊
C.
Lovely spot with a range of hot pools for a soak looking out over the lake.
Clean, excellent facilities.
P.
After almost 3 hours of walking through the Red Woods, Polynesian Spa was the perfect choice to revive us from physical exhaustion. Our private pool offered full relaxation plus stunning view of the lake before the sunset. Highly recommended - A ++++
E.
I tried one of the private rooms without the lake view and it was just average, the public areas were quire crowded but even the staff was a bit surprised about it. Public areas looked well maintained and clean, nice view of the lake from one of the pool and helpful staff.
C.
Was lovely though the light to say times up in private pool was a bit hard to see from other end of the little pool. And while they said to drink plenty of water the little water fountain provided was not functioning correctly. Maybe take a bottle of water with you instead. Was a nice soak though with a beautiful view
N.
Without a doubt the best massage I have had in my entire life.
Its recommended to take a massage because that way you get a free entrance to the hot pools.
The pools are organized in such a way that every pool is warmer than the last one and you can choose the best temperature for you.
The massage was out of this world, a mud rub with water dripping from the ceiling, relaxing and refreshing.
S.
Been away for 7 months, out filming book of boba. (Ooo fight scenes, makeup ) one thing I've really missed is this hidden gem! Here in my home town, Rotorua, New Zealand. Ughhhhh!!!! The polynesian spa! COME ON NEW ZEALAND!!! Try something new. AHH, there are no words to describe the view.
M.
Been twice , it's hot pools are worth every penny . Staffs are nice and helpful too .
B.
Very enjoyable in the lake spa(zone 3). I purchased the deluxe package (zones 1&3) in zone 1 you can see the origional spa pools which arnt used anymore and id say the views are better. However late afternoon it gets very busy with buses of tourists arrivng around 1600. There are many pools to choose from at different temperatures.
The pools also got a bit dirty in the main section as the day goes on. Your literally swimming in other people's peeling skin.
The lake spa area was much nicer and cleaner but you pay more for that.
Unlike other reviews not a bird in sight whilst I was there. Having been to most of the hot spring spas in nz this ranks near the top but it is quite pricey compaired to others which lets it down for me.
金.
Here is refreshing winter morning! Is my favorite place
T.
I haven’t been this place for a long time, this time they surprised me with everything. I’m happy with their service, purchased the deluxe private pool with very reasonable retail price, and the view is amazing. Totally changed my old negative opinion of this place! 5 star recommended for this place. I also recommend not to stay in the public pool as too many people in there. Private deluxe pool is recommended!
L.
We visited the spa and booked a Private Lake view spa.
11/10, the staff are very friendly and accommodating to new comers. The private spa is great for couples looking to get away - the have double massage treatments as well for those looking.
The spa also had public baths which are great for regular use - more affordable as well.
A.
We booked a private pool and it was wonderful! The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was bliss soaking in the pool
R.
I'm always looking forward to going for a spa and swim in the big pools also private pools are very kool also
S.
The best way to end ur day after all the sightseeing. All the body soreness will vanish after this.
I would advice to go there in the evening time during sunset so u can have a view in the light as well as the night view. (Night view is not that great though)
P.s- u will feel really hungry after dis.. so plan the restaurant reservations before hand.
C.
Awesome place. Me and my husband were in the deluxe lake view spa at $60 per person. Great price. Got everything we need. Had 5 heated pools, heated lounge chairs. Fee included the towels, robe, lockers, shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash and lotion. Also got hair dryer. All we need was bring our swimwear. Highly recommended. They close 10pm.
K.
Nice views and privacy when you pay for a private spa... But not worth the money for the time spent etc..plus you are rushed out just as you're getting relaxed haha
C.
Five stars for their excellent customer service! The spa here was really good. We only chose the pavilion pools but the experience was really good. It was not very busy in the afternoon 4pm. The lake view from the pool were breathtaking! But most importantly, i rate them 5 stars for customer service. I dropped my wedding bend into the gaps between the decks. The manager called the maintenance guys immediately who came back from home after work to help me retrieve it from under the deck tunnel. I was panicking during the 1 hr that I lost my ring but they assured me that getting the ring out shouldn’t be a problem. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!!
A.
Really gorgeous mineral hot pools in beautifully natural surroundings. Free towels, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryers. We bought lakeside admission. 4 stars because price point is high but worth it to me. There are a range of temperatures, a cold plunge pool and shower.
A.
What a treat to find an affordable luxury spa with geothermal pools to relax in at the end of a long day. We tried the private room and deluxe pools on separate nights, both were great. Definitely go while it's still light out so you can take in the lake views. It does smell strongly of sulfur so be prepared.
K.
Sooooo fantastic. Booked a Manuka honey massage and got access to the 5 private mineral pools as well. 4 alkaline pools ranging in temp from 38~41c with an acidic pool and cold plunge as well. Fruit smoothies, massages, hot springs..Aquaman milkshake! My goodness, this was an amazing day.
C.
We visited as a group of 4 and choose the Adult pools. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience - being able to try different pools (1 bigger, 8 smaller) - different water makeup, and temperature made it a fun day. Definitely felt very relaxed all day afterwards. Some of the pools are undercover as well so even if the weather is not perfect its a good place to go - Pools range in the 37 - 41 degree range. You will also find 10% discount offers from promo materials.
C.
This was a fantastic stop! Even the basic pool pass gave us access to beautiful lake views, really good facilities and a a number of pool options. Staff were also very friendly, gave good information/advice too. Overall a very nice site, good variety of pool areas and really clean spacious changing rooms. I loved the location, incredibly handy when visiting Rotorua, if we ever came again I would go back there for sure. Highly recommend!
A.
My partner and I decided to check out the polynesian spa, the receptionist was a bit hard to understand (English obviously a second language) but was very friendly and made our booking for later on that day. When we arrived back for our booking time we used the Express/pre-booked tickets lane and got to go in very quickly. There is the towel, locker and togs hire just as you walk past reception, going through the first set of doors were public pools then on the other side was the private room reception. Receptionist there advised us where the bathrooms were then took us to our room, they also supplied a towel for each of us, they told us that once the green light turned on we had 5-10mins to get out of the spa, shower and leave the room. The view from the spa was beautiful, the temperature of the water was amazing and soothing and the spa even had several levels in it you could sit on to relax in the water. Water fountain in the room to keep you hydrated but you can take in your own water bottle. Will definately be back again co suffering the great price of the room. 30mins was definately long enough in the pool. Highly reccomend going here!!

Amazing value for the price. Lots of different options depending on how private you want your experience to be. The bats are open until 10:30 p.m. and they don't kick you out until 11:00 p.m, so great to relax after a long day of travel or hiking.
D.
Definitely a must when you're visiting rotorua! We came in at night so not that crowded and you wont have a good view but nonetheless its still a great experience.
Private pool (max of 4 ppl) - $20/adult
Public pool - $23/adult
They also have in-store facilities, selling bathingsuits, towels, jandals and all sorts of toiletries.
There's also a cafe where you can chill and have a bite to eat after simmering in the hot pools (they have gelato!)
Over all its a class A facility with awesome staff members and amenities.
P.
Too expensive really for what it is. $32 per person for a hot soak. Save your money - it’s the same price to go to the Wai-o-tapu thermal area to see the Champagne Pool. Plus you get to walk around and see other natural wonders too. And don’t miss the Lady Knox geyser - it gets “set off” every morning around 10am.
K.
Good place to spend part of your day relaxing even when it's partly raining. The water on average is about 40 celsius. Came here around 2pm and it was not busy at all.
J.
Polynesian pools in Rotorua are a truly wonderful way to relax. 40 to 30° is the temperature of most the pools... Loverly way to spend a evening under the stars and the moon. Please remember to book ahead of time if you want the Skyview and lake private. Unfortunately it didn't work on Line this time (queens birthday weekend 2020).
T.
Highly recommend.
Clean, tidy and so relaxing! I recommend trying to go at a quiet time as not everyone observes the “speak softly” request, which does mess with the tranquility a bit.
I had a massage, and whilst it was expensive, it was worth it.
Oh and the recliners are heated, it was a very pleasant surprise and put the cherry on top of my experience! 😄
P.
A must do in Rotorua. I can say it is cheap for the outdoor spa with unlimited time. I really enjoyed the time spending there.. i love nz because people are so nice and friendly ♥️
It was good time to make friends with other people traveling there as well.
R.
Private pool was beautiful and a very scenic spot! Romantic place.
M.
We had an amazing experience at Polynesian Spa! Everything was amazing -- the pools were divine, the staff were great, the massages were incredibly relaxing, and we were even able to finish out our night with a gelato. Splurging for the deluxe package so we didn't have to bring our own towels was definitely worth it. If I would make one suggestion, it would be investing in some swimsuit quick dryers for the changing rooms -- but that's if I'm being very nitpicky!
S.
A wonderful hot spring, up to the standard of those you can find throughout Japan. We tried the lakeside pools and found the sunset views incredibly relaxing. The ultra close seagulls and their young add their very own nature show, though never actually come more than a few feet away, so were actually quite fun to observe from the comfort of the Priest Pool.
Would be nice if the heated loungers were made of stone and not plastic, but otherwise a near perfect experience.
If my review and photos were helpful to you, please give me a thumbs up 👍🏼 Thanks!
R.
Pools were nice an quiet for a friday night.
60min massage on special with $50 off. Much enjoy
N.
Great spa for the Rotorua thermal water. Recommended. The view is amazing, great stop esp on a cold winter day. Book online for the private spa room.
S.
We had the private deluxe pool - just because we wanted some peace and the nice views. We were not disappointed at all. Beautiful hot water, lovely views and we felt the pricing is great. We had a private little changing rooms, drinking water, shower and moisturisers included. Just be sure to book in advance. Stuff was super friendly and helpful! Totally recommended.
D.
Lovely place to wind down with some private views! $35 pp for a private room with one wall and the ceiling removed, exposing a view of the entire lake, all 360 degrees of it.
A.
Thoroughly enjoyed the thermal pools, going from one pool to another for a change of temperature. Nice views, calming breeze, entertaining bird life and very hygienic changing rooms with lockers.
K.
Love the place! The environment and the view are both amazing! If you can you have to be there for the sunset! Omg! Absolutely stunning!!
Make sure you take your jewlery off! They turn black after getting in contact with the chemicals in the pool. Sometimes the staff remind you and other times they forget.
I hear that locals get a really good deal for monthly passes! I almost wanted to move! The food was good also!
J.
Really enjoyed the deluxe private pools. The only reason I’m giving four stars is because we weren’t aware that we couldn’t book the deluxe private pool for two 30 minute sessions in a row. Maybe it mentioned it somewhere when doing the reservation, but we didn’t notice. We ended up doing our first time at 5:30 (I booked it then to see the beautiful sunset) and then had to move our second time to 6:45. There was food and a lounge area so the wait to use the private pool again wasn’t bad. I would definitely go back and try the other pools.
D.
Totally worth it. We prefer the private spas. One of the best ones in Rotorua
B.
Quite disappointed on family pool, smaller than what I expected. Hotspring pools are fine but without any view. Shower area doesn't provide soap and hairdryer.
Y.
Happy Chinese New Year😊
V.
We had a great experience with this place. A romantic package gives full access to all the pools, lunch, drinks and timed private pool access. Staff attend to us with great care. Definitely a good choice to unwind.
b.
Nice clean pools . Heated. Nice soak. Also good area for families with kids with life Guards and fun slide for little ones
T.
As we have small children and have to book the family spa. The experience is not as great as all the reviews. Believe that adults only will be more worth as you can have all the different spas and temperatures, facing the lake....
T.
A must do when visit Rotarua. Magnificent views many different spa to sit in and relax. Worth every penny.
N.
The best geothermal hot mineral spa. My family very enjoy and relax we're bathing in this spa. A few hours after take a hot mineral water spa, our skin so different, so smooth and you will feel it especially around the face. We take bathing in private pool with lake view. So amazing. You need try this hot mineral spa if go to Rotorua.
L.
Amazing experience, great evening out for couples ;) private spa.. public pools are great.. will be back every month for more..
B.
One of the top ten spa and thermal pools in the world.
All facilities are well maintained.
Had a good experience.
T.
Nice and peaceful and a fantastic relaxing day
r.
The pools are decent but id say the cheaper pool is better (god father) as it have more pools that range from hot to cold.
S.
Nice place. Try the private rooms with the hot spa. Can be booked earlier. It comes in 30 minute intervals.
C.
Got the de-stress muscle massage and it was amazing. Had a soak in the thermal pools before and after, and left feeling relaxed and with the softest of skin. The complimentary juices were delicious!
n.
Booked a private spa and it was so relaxing! Pool nice size. Friendly staff!
B.
I really enjoyed this if your in New Zealand you must go to a hot spring this one as been at this site for about 100 years there is a shop and cafe we had a private pool which was amazing l think it cost 30 dollars a person and for 35 dollars once your time is up in the private pool you can go to the public one's but personally after 30 minutes was a enough
J.
We had an incredible time hanging out in our own cute wee spa away from EVERYONE. The perfect relaxation moment to unwind and de-stress and soak it up. It rained while we were there and somehow it was still simply delightful. So warm. I would thoroughly recommend it. Next time I'd try and get massages too for the ultimate good vibes times.
F.
Very nice spa. We booked a hot pool and it was quite relaxing. The view was amazing. They also have good smoothies at the bar.
L.
Their website says it's the Top 10 Spas in the World so we went with high expectations especially given the price.
Entering the spa it was disappointing, the place looks a little dreary and you head to the counter which is built like an attraction gantry where you choose your package, pay at the counter and then walk yourself to the relevant areas.
Because they serve so many people, there's no exclusivity and feels like a public pool, public toilets and shower area too.
We went towards the late afternoon around 5pm place had quite abit of people. So while the views were nice, too many people to feel relaxed in. Took awhile to find a slightly less crowded, quieter pool to soak in.
S.
Tranquil and beautiful views, especially if you avoid public and school holidays. Best time to visit is morning for a relaxing time
K.
A great place to go to relax and unwind especially after your partner had dragged you round a forest for 34kms... On foot.
A.
We rented a private lakeview pool. We loved it and will def be going back.
C.
Nice hot mineral pools with a view. Facilities are alright, although a bit dated and toilet/shower area could be cleaner... not what I expected for what they charge ($34 per adult / $7 for one use locker)... I've seen so much better for similar price... I probably wouldn't come back unless for therapeutic reasons.
J.
Great experience. Calm and relaxing place experienced with family - we also had ice cream out in their cafe, was delicious! 5 stars
C.
Beautiful, clean bath and very friendly service. We only missed the bathrobes that used to be available in the Luxury pools and the floor used to be heated. The entry price went from $25 to $60 for the Luxury pools over the years. Not something that a family could afford anymore.
N.
Deluxe Option ($55): worth the extra money due to the heated lounge area. Great if you spend many hours here, otherwise the Adult Pools are basically the same deal.
***No drying machine for swimwear**** Hanmer Springs offers this for much less money, so I urge the management to invest. Nobody wants to slip back into cold, wet shorts!
A location to die for, on the edge of the Lake.
Photo showing Lounge in Deluxe option: pools on right are Adult Pool option, left are Deluxe.
V.
Nice Spa, Nice view, nice food, smaller than I imagined, stayed about 1.5 hour. Spa+shower+eat.
H.
We love the private pools here overlooking the lake. One of our favourite places
R.
Beautiful pools. Stunning location. Perfectly maintained. A real treat.
j.
It was a very cold rainy day, but was perfect for these spas! The changing room are very well looked after and pools well maintained. 5 start view of the lake
K.
A great experience. A must do activity in Rotorua. Plenty of pool spaces and pools. Spoil yourself in a romantic or deluxe pool package. Washrooms are provided plus towels to be hired in certain packages. Free car parking. Open till late. Life guards on duty. Cafeteria is at the front next to the reception.
J.
Great place to relax, the private pools are excellent, and well worth the price.
Open air is excellent, especially if at nighttime or a sunny day.
Overcast does take away from it a tad, but not too much
D.
Who doesn't like the Polynesian Spa. Every time we are in Rotorua we use the Pavilion Pools. Awesome and even better if it's raining to sit in the hot pools and feel the rain. The private spas are also pretty good. And we love the fruit juices at the cafe.
C.
Delux pass has 5 pools in different temperatures and all with lake view. You definitely could find one suits you and just soak in for hours watching crazy seagulls fly on the lake. Skin turned so smooth and body ache released so much!
B.
I booked family pool, but it close at 9 every day. As we running a bit late so we upgraded to Lake view SPA which was really good~The smell of pool and lake is special~but it’s a great contact of nature.
M.
We went as a large family group on a cold rainy winter's night and it was still magical, kids loved the slide and swimming in the bigger pool while the teens loved the warm pools. Lovely heated change rooms.
G.
I paid a high rate, but it is worth more than that, very well kept, clean and with all the amenities.
C.
The Lake spa was neat, but the temperatures on each pool was incorrect. The supposedly coldest pool turned out to be the hottest and the hottest was the opposite. The showers in both changing room were icy cold with no hot water at all but the service was great. They never ran out of towels and the staff was friendly. Just a few to be fixed and she'll be right 😁
D.
Went to the public pools rather than the private ones and would highly recommend it. There are 5 public pools and each pool has different temperatures so you can go around changing pools based on how you feel. The private pool entry is a bit more than the public pool entry and is for 30 mins only, while the public pool is unlimited time. I ended up spending 3 hours in the pool and still wanted more so would definitely recommend going to the public ones and I actually went on a weekend and it was pretty chill not crowded at all.
S.
Great place. Large change rooms. Different pools with different temperatures
R.
A great place to be on a cool, rainy, or windy day. Did the less expensive package. 5 pools varying from 36 to 41 degrees. Acidic pool was our favorite, and soothes achy joints. The sulphur pools left the skin feeling very soft. Nice views of the lake.
S.
Really like the place.have been there in the night time into the hot pools. It's quite relaxing. Good staff with decent maintenance
s.
I absolutely loved that place. Very relaxing. Definitely recommend
L.
awesome day, hanging out with Beckie Cameron, enjoyed the pools
R.
Wonderful natural springs. I went there with my girlfriend and we had a nice romantic time there. You can rent a private hot spring room and its go a nice view.
r.
Beautiful view of the stars! Clean open facilities! 30minutes worth while!
Deluxe Private Spa, own change room and shower.
V.
It is nice place to relax after a hectic fun day in Rotorua. They got a lot of options and the one we took was acidic and alkaline bath which relaxes your muscles and clears your skin. Make sure you dont wear any silver jewellery because it may react in acidic water and change colour. For me I am enjoying the new color of my chain😂..... Cheers
J.
The pools are a favourite both with locals and visitors. There are several pools, right at the lake edge under native trees. Its open late so you can sit in the healing waters under the night sky looking out over the lake.
The healing waters of Rotorua are ideal to cure jet lag, soothe arthritis, help with emotional or physical healing and are great at the end of a tramp or day on the mountain bike.
Even when it's busy, it's not overcrowded and it's always immaculately clean. The floors of the changing rooms are super clean and thermally heated, so getting out of the pool is as pleasant as getting in.
Polynesian spa is a ten out of ten experience
V.
Went there because Bobba Fett told me to. Would highly recommend.
D.
Had a great time, pavilion pools were especially beautiful ❤️
C.
Great place, wasn't too busy. Super clean facilities.
L.
Beautiful place, two options are offered, one is cheaper, square-shaped pools. The other is a bit more expensive, beautiful natural stones surface pools with kind of small cave shelter. You can have a quick look before choosing if you ask. Both options have natural springs containing sulfur. We bought those more expensive - warmed plastic chairs and nice lake view were magnificent. Also free towels were offered. Shower cabins are convenient, lockers were provided. At least two hours should be allowed.
C.
Very nice. The spa pool is worth the money if you want something special and tranquil.
D.
Lots of spas and pools in different sections. The admission is confusing. Somehow they have splited into different areas: Private Pools, Pavillion Pools, Family Pools and Lake View Pools. You can't access to other area unless you buy separate tickets. Private pools do not include general access. If you booked lake view pools and private pool, beaware that you will need to get out from the lake view pool back to the reception and walk back into the other side. Why just charge one admission fee and let everyone enjoy alll areas? Must wear swimwear and unless you are going to lake view pools, towels will cost extra unless you bring your own.
I found the water in the lake view pool area the most "smelly" and maybe the best quality?
T.
I loved it relaxing and peaceful.... went during the winter in the weekday morning when not so busy at the private pools section fantastic.... healing reviving pools...you must come here if you ever holiday in Rotorua ....Well worth the price
P.
Public pools are very nice. U can chose from 37 degree to 41
u.
Natural thermal spa where you can have bath in private pools too for 30 nz$ for half an hour. Must do when in Rotorua
C.
What's good enough to rejuvenate Boba Fett after a long day of fighting on the mean streets of Mos Espa is good enough for me.
J.
The place to be for a relaxing and stress-relieving spa. The Pavilion Pools provide multiple different mineral spas at varying temperatures and pH, allowing you to move around as you please while enjoying a great view (highly recommend going at night time!)
C.
Nice place, appreciate free towels and lockers. Disappointed that you pay for just a few pools, wish we had taken pavillion and not deluxe, feels like a money making exercise. Also got a bad skin rash which I never have had before and needed medical attention. Never got that in any other spa in fact from anything in my life!. So good place but wont be back
A.
Great family spa x2 with different temperature and heated swimming pool with a shallow area for children and a 1.5m? Deep side with safety rail all around and at the centre where the pool gets deeper with a small slide for children. They also have a lifeguard on duty if anything should go wrong
P.
Always nice here and it should be because it's not cheap. $5.85 to hire a locker is excessive
S.
Definitely a go-to place if you are a tourist or driving past Rotorua. Great view over the lake, modern facilities, great private rooms. Get the lake view private rooms if you can afford it. Really worth it.
J.
Really pleasant thermal pools experience. Several different pools to choose from with a range of temperatures. Looks out over the lake. We had a fabulous time soaking in the pool while the sun went down and the stars came out.
V.
Friendly staff and the pool we had was private and water the right temperature. My happy place. Would go back again, reasonably priced.
S.
I checked out the place...nice but felt it was a bit expensive...the family thermal pools seemed more like a heated swimming pool.....nice cafe inside.....
S.
wonderful place!amazing view and clear pool
D.
I haven't been there for years. I didn't realize that it had been renovated. It was ok, but I prefer the old pools, where you could go from a tepid pool, to a sizzling one and every temperature in between. Rubbing your feet in the sand was really great. Sorry, but this upgrade just didn't do it for me. Sadly, I won't be back
A.
We stopped off on our way through Rotorua and went into one of the private pools which was delightful.
The view over the lake is typical Rotorua and bleak but it was a fun half an hour floating about in a spa pool.
Everything’s clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and efficient.
G.
Wonderful sulphuric spa. We have to do reservation of the slot to be safe. There private and public hot pools. Rotoroua is known for hot springs and this is I e of the best hot spring SPA. This is my first experience and wanted to go once again before leaving the place. One has to come to Rotoroua who ever is visiting NZ for good hot spring SPA.
T.
Amazing for date night or a romantic night out with your/a partner. Beautiful lake view and private setting. Staff are so wonderful and it's very therapeutic.
H.
Very nice mineral hot pools with beautiful views and lovely breeze.
A.
Absolutely love the Polynesian spa, go every time we are in Rotorua. Such a lovely relaxing place, our favourite is the pavilion pools with a lovely view of the lake. The information boards are a lovely touch, as well as the reflexology walk. The cold water outdoor shower and water fountains are handy for when you need a break from the heat or to keep yourself hydrated.
Clean showers and changing facilities, as well as lovely staff just top off the experience.
A must do stop that I recommend to everyone!
S.
We chose the private spa (deluxe) and man... can I just say it’s so relaxing and amazing. The view was also a bonus
J.
What a great time... The springs are so soothing. The pools are clean and the service is excellent.
Four of us had a massage it was very relaxing and the the cafe makes a fantastic juice.
My only criticism is I wish the spa did a deep tissue.
J.
Thoroughly enjoyed. Have to find your own way around a bit (not too difficult) also a little bit of difficulty understand some people's English, not all. Great place. Highly recommended
M.
Amazing and relaxing stop. Very clean with pleasant staff and local bathers. Adult spas have a beautiful view of the lake.
S.
The family spa wasn't as hot as I thought it would be, a bit expensive for the price.
The family pool was cooler than expected.
I would have preferred to put that money towards a more expensive spa experience.
But, Kids who were present with their parents, looked like they were enjoying themselves.
B.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere with helpful staff. We'd booked a private pool so enjoyed the privacy and lake view. The facilities are a little dated hence the 4 star rating.
L.
Really nice adult pool area. Nice to have a separate quiet area and an amazing view. May be a bit pricey if you're on a budget.
B.
You must try this lake view pool it's awesome 😎
S.
After tiring day drive we went to this spa which is very famous in Rotorua. We selected the pavilion spa pool ticket costing NZD 30/ person. It was relaxing and rejuvenating once inside the pool. All day fatigue gone. Different type of spa. Only minus of this place is very expensive compared to facilities provided.
L.
Magical day thanks to capable, kind staff - great skills - great products - definately recommend!!
B.
Awesome 5+ star VIP treatment. Very hospitable staff esp. Jenni B. honestly, could not say anything. Soothing hot springs, clean and well maintained even if thry have hundreds of visitors per day. Will visit again happy :)
D.
Great place to relax and get looked after by friendly staff.
H.
Loved the experience. I've never been before and thoroughly enjoyed it. The varying temperatures of the pools was wonderful. I felt so relaxed after being there for a few hours. Highly recommended
K.
Best experience in the world, my wife was very excited to be in one of the top ten spa's in the world. Great place to relax in Rotorua
k.
Very relaxing, kids loved the family pool
T.
Nice place even when it's raining like today.
It's really clean and could be really peaceful if people were talking low. It's a quiet area but some people are talking like if they were home.
There's a big sign saying quiet area so please mind your voice people.
We're coming there to relax and not be annoyed.
Thank you for respecting the others.
S.
The water was really warm and I think I had a good time!
M.
Overall nice place for relaxing .We do love private spa
S.
This place used to be great about 25 years ago. Then it went rubbish, then great again about 2 years ago and now it's a mixed bag. Well laid out. Good pools and I realise covid has had some effect but staff look like they are there as a penance. The showers were empty of soap in the dispensers. It was like goldilocks. I found some at the 5th shower. It can't be down to demand as there were only 3 people in the pools. And with a building background... you look at the building thinking..."this is NOT going to be good in 10 years.." Deluxe spas are basically an extra 30 to avoid kids. It's a little overpriced. But pay it for the quiet. A solid 3/5.
C.
The water is a perfect temperature, if you don't like the smell of sulphur I wouldn't recommend. We did the private pool it was worth it.
썽.
🥰🥰🥰 love this spa!!
s.
Lovely natural heated spa's. Took the cheapest option. Relaxing but don't sit too long in the spa's and drink a lot. Have a relaxing time.
N.
This place is beautiful. Warm pools, Clean facility. Very romantic so look out when you get home.😎🥰
S.
Don't go for the private pool...the water temp is not that hot. Go for the pools outside as they are way more hotter !
C.
It's always been a great place for hot spring over the years. However, after the renovation of the place, it is now lot more smaller with less hot spring spot and more pricey to visit the place. The place is now a lot more like a spa beauty salon instead of an actual hot spring bathing spot.
M.
Family spa $45. Chlorinated pool for kids. Bring goggles. They can put head under in chlorinated pool. Two thermal pools for adults in family spa area. Lakeside pools are $150. We only went to family spa area hence gave it 3 stars. Not sure what rest of the complex is like.
M.
Thought the prices were expensive, but having unlimited time before and after the spa appointment was a bonus. The scenery was also top notch! The pampering experience was also amazing. Would go again!!
M.
It was good just wish was cheaper for unemployed peaple with surgery pain issues like me trying to get more pain releaf had great time a lot has change to
A.
Went at 2pm and was fairly quiet. Had a good relax and soak. Wonderful experience overlooking lake Rotorua.
S.
I really enjoyed the experience. The therepeautic effect the spa is awesome. The view is amazing. I do not have enough adjectives in my vocabulary to actually describe the experience in its entirety...
A.
Private lake view spa nice. Choose room 2 if you can. View is good.
O.
Great place for hotspring, a bit pricey but it’s very clean and well managed. The only thing would bother me is that I can’t access to the whole area with a single package and for a 50 dollar lake view package we only have five hotsprings.... The staffs are friendly, coffee is not a recommended thing.
G.
Beautiful natural mineral pools. Good covering from sun.
Great facilities. Extensive gift shop, some good ideas for well-being-type gifts.
Expensive. NZ$32 for adult access to the main pools (there are 6-7 pools of various temperatures).
G.
Thermal spa area in the middle if Rotarua town. Its a relexing place with thermal pools with various heats and also offers different spa treatments. There is a cafe and lounge prior to going into the thermals and also a shop for swimming equipment but also spa treatment materials.
But i just cant get over the smell in this place is just horrible (Smells of rotten eggs, due to the sulphur coming from the thermals, the whole town smells like this so its not just specific to the spa, but is heightened due to the theramals)
I felt for $50 (which gets you the Duluxe spa treatment) that it could off offered more as it was just access to a a number pools. You feel quite relaxed after it, but i myself would definitely not be rushing back specially to try this place.
S.
For budget traveller, the adult pool ($30 entry fee)should give you a relaxing hot spring experience plus a beautiful lake view to enjoy with. Besides, it's a good sightseeing option even in a rainy day. #HotSpring #RainyDayNZ #TravelNZ #NZGuide #LakeViewNZ
J.
Perfect way to relax a busy body. Very friendly staff and constantly tidied and well kept facilities.
R.
Wow this was an amazing experience. We had the private pool with the view. Limited parking options thoug
L.
Booked a Spa Stress Therapy massage at the retreat spa, while my family enjoyed the deluxe pools with views overlooking the lake. My kids also enjoyed the heated loungers. We were able to use the 25% discount from the entertainment book. The massage was fabulous, and my therapist Praueena was really good. The free fruit juice afterwards was a really nice touch. So relaxing - just what I needed. A wonderful way to spend Christmas Day!
R.
For a warm day, soaking in the hot water is still relaxing and enjoyable.
However drink plenty of water and take regular breaks from the hot pools.
Enjoy the scenery, both in the pools and out across Lake Rotorua.
Also fortunate enough to be there with some of the Luna Rossa land based team.
B.
I went here back in September as part of a NZ tour. I am looking forward to my next trip to NZ just so I can go for another soak. Helps with sore joints and softens the skin.
Fast forward to February 2019. Here I am back in Rotorua and once again soaking in the Polynesian Spa. I recommend this once again for anyone spending some time in Rotorua. Your body will thank you for it.
P.
Lots of outdoor public pools 38° to 41° most with lake views. Sky view and lake view private pools. Facilities 3☆ and good cafe attached.
L.
Great place! Really nice and peacefully, really clean, friendly staff wish to have some more affordable options, packages
or discounts for usuall customer all year around, couldn't afford it on regular base.
M.
It was our first time visiting this place and we are very impressed by their service and professionalism. We were welcomed very nicely and escorted to the Spa reception. Jayasa ( sorry if I am calling it wrong ) were very professional in terms of explaining the massage and friendly.
I had a massage by Yesha and I must say one of the best massage ever. Did such an outstanding job.
Must visit this place. Plus point is enjoying yourself in the spa pool either before or after the massage. Loved it.
Little relaxing music would be good around the pool area. Just a suggestion.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks a lot
A.
Awesome, wish they had private toilet and towels for the deluxe private spas. Still great.
S.
Not normally a fan of spas but this one was very relaxing. Well worth the deluxe pools with heated loungers.
G.
One of Top 10 hot pools in the world. Have many choices such as private pools, adults and children pool etc.
H.
Would attend more if the prices were more respectful of the clientele that can attend or should I say afford. That way I believe, they would increase the attendance
M.
Lovely place to swim. First time user and wasnt crowded.
Clean facilities and family friendly.
Lifeguard was on to it making sure kids were safe and behaved.
Was a bit concerned from the hot hot water coming out from the outlet of the spa in family pool area.
It was extremely hot and could potentially burn a child..we were shocked how hot it was..40degrees pool
T.
There are no words, I have enjoyed like a bantha in an oasis on the desert of Tatooine.
H.
If you love very HOTTT SPAS this is the place,
Mud spas was fun!!!
Awesome spot!!!
S.
Relaxing and enjoyable experience friendly staff thank you
D.
Visited in the Tuesday morning. It was quiet and enjoyable.
Very few people there and enjoy the lake pool as private ones.
C.
We loved going to the Polynesian spa over the past several years but the cost has become absolutely ridiculous particularly the deluxe lake spa which now cost $60 for a single entry...so much for local tourists...
C.
Visited here with my husband in Feb, opted for Deluxe Public Pools package for $32 for an adult and paid $5 for a locker and totally satisfied with the experience.
I first visited here alone during daytime, paid the amount only to find out the pools are in open. Rotorua town is pretty hot in the daytime and hence I wasn't comfortable with the open area hot pools. The girl at counter said that within 30 minutes she can refund my amount. She refunded the amount which I really appreciate. I came back in the evening with my husband and paid the money again. We were initially thinking of private pool but then it's expensive, and time is limited to 30 minutes. Deluxe Public Pools package gives you an access to 8 pools without any time limit and most of those pools overlook the beautiful lake of Rotorua and the scenery behind it. I really loved the little walk for foot reflexology which they have created. There are lot of drinking water fountains next to every pool which I really liked as you don't need to carry your own water bottle. We stayed there for almost an hour. Mind you, my skin felt really great after experiencing the Polynesian spa pools.

Wonderful service. Gorgeous pools. A few spa pools suitable for pregnant people too. I and the pregnancy massage with Petr and he was so good, and very caring and professional. I went to the relaxation lounge after for a ginger tea and a lie down, and I didn't want to leave. I'll be going back every time we go to Rotorua.
J.
I love this place! Very relaxing and a true gem of Rotoua!!
M.
Had an amazing revive body wrap and mini facial at the therapy spa yesterday and it was phenomenal! Aroha was so incredible and I felt really relaxed and well taken care of. I thought the value for money was on point having access to the deluxe lake spa pools first off and loved the little touches like the robe and relaxation lounge access with tea afterwards. I will definitely be returning!
M.
Boasts being named in the top ten spas of the world and unfortunately didn't live up to the reputation.. Pool's weren't very hot, the recliner chairs were also only slightly warmed.. The staff werent overly friendly.. Also overpriced in my opinion when compared to other spas like that of the mornington hot springs in Melbourne for size and what you get for your money.. On a brighter note the views over the lake from the hot pools were beautiful and we did have a relaxing time while there, go enjoy just don't set your standards too high
T.
Just the recipe after a long trip. Will book ahead next time for private Lakeview spas. Great for those arthritic bones. Plenty of space .
A.
Little paradise spa with many different pools with different levels of temperature
M.
I only signed up for the signature mud wrap but it already felt like some luxurious spa package. They advised you to come in at least an hour before your appointment so you can absolutely enjoy the alkaline and acidic pools of varied temperatures. I came 30 minutes prior to my appointment and didn't get the chance (or guts) to dip in the cold pool. You can actually still enjoy the pools after your treatment but since mine involved moisturizing in the end, I opted not to wash it all off in the pool. My therapist was a guy but never made me uncomfortable throughout the therapy. I believe draping is a basic skill that some spa staff take for granted but not Alvaro (I hope I got that correct). He perfected the skill. Highly recommend this place especially if you're visiting Rotorua. The view is fantastic, the pools are great and service top notch.
C.
Have always loved the private spas nice neat and tidy.
A.
Peaceful place. Beautiful view on the lake. And "unlimited" hour. Good place to go to if you have a sore body!
D.
My husband and I enjoyed a private pool for 1/2 hour in the morning. The view of the lake is lovely and it was very relaxing. The private pool is the only way to go. If you want to enjoy the public area pools without a hundred other people you have to go VERY early in the day. The evenings are so crowded its gross.
A.
Good spa experience facing seaside, no towel and free locker provided despite paying a premium price. Otherwise the spa pools were good.
N.
Lovely Thermal SPA in Rotorua. The private pools are secluded and with a great view over the lake.
A.
Fantastic mineral spa. The family pool at the front does not do the place justice, as the two sections inside are way nicer! One side has a selection of soaking pools and the other has a selection of swimming ones. Them there is also the facial and massage part and the private pools.
L.
The spas were geat. Unfortunately, there was a man there (a customer) taking videos on his phone of the women in their bikinis and bathing suits. Which left for a bad experience. When we told the security guard, the man noticed and left. Maybe keep an eye out for these problems. We only left because of him and feeling uncomfortable
R.
We choose a package in the spa retreat with private pool time, deluxe spa and spa services. The staff is very friendly, but the place looks and feels dated. The photos on the website are a bit misleading.
While we had been there, kids had been playing in the deluxe pools and it was very noisy. This is definitely geared more towards a family fun experience than a relaxing spa day. It was ok to experience it once, but I would not come to Rotorua just for that. This place has a lot of potential to be a world-class spa destination, but it’s not leveraged today.
A.
Amazing once in a lifetime experience
5 stars
This was an amazing once in a lifetime experience. We booked the deluxe which comes with the changing rooms, lockers, towels, and 4 natural hot pools; as well as a view of the lake. We went at night, so couldn’t see much, but was still an amazing time. We visited each of the pools for about 15-20 minutes each. It was a great atmosphere, except for some of the people who were talking so loud, you couldn’t relax on some of it. This would be great for daytime or night time. Each pool had different temperatures and different PH levels. It was a great experience that I would highly recommend for anyone visiting the area to do.
HINT: Get discounted tickets with Canopy Tours.
HINT2: Take off all your jewelry or the sulphur will change the color of it.
P.
Was expecting luxury but was ok. Family pools are pretty bare. Showers need updating. Maybe should have gone to the private ones but not sure if worth the price.
T.
One of the best SPA in NZ for us. Visited on August, bought VIP deluxe, very happy with that (private area, very few people, towels provided, free tap water, warm lounge area). Staff is very friendly and nice small restaurant at the entrance. Free parking, no time limit for visitors. Buy online, got 20% discount.
J.
Lovely and relaxing! We spent our 30mins in the Private Deluxe Pool and timed it right to catch the sun setting while in the pool.
L.
Booked aix massages and body scrubs for my partner and I. Lazed in the mineral pools and the relaxation lounge in our fluffy robes and made an entire afternoon of it. Great value.
j.
Lovely facilities, friendly staff, great views. We opted for the private pool and it was lovely. Can't wait to return.
J.
Very beautiful and relaxing place. Make sure to book treatments beforehand. A little pricey but nothing too shocking.
R.
Wonderfully peaceful! Great setting, amazing staff, a bit pricey but worth every penny!
C.
Great for some hours of relaxation. Don't expect too much deluxe of the deluxe spa. For me it was worth it
B.
Wonderful spa with nice amenities and great views
K.
Good place with a lot of pools all ng with a nice view. We got the pavilion pool package for $25 which includes i think about 7-8 pools, which is not bad. It would be even better if the pools had average temperature note on it as some were hot while someof them were just warm. Overall, a good experience though.
A.
Great place to go to relax as a family, they cater to babies and the facilities are very clean with friendly staff. Be aware we visited during covid and as a result the spa was much less crowded than usual which added to our experience.
J.
Take your time and enjoy the heat... especially a good place to go on rainy days.
m.
Really nice Spa. We visit every time we are in Rotorua. You definitely have to leave before 4pm because it usually gets very crowded.
A.
Loved this place. Especially I am glad there's a space without children. That makes my experience very different =)
The lake view is stunning and I recommend night time.
I would visit here again definitely. Of course they have family pools and space for children too.
A.
Really liked it. Not very expensive, great experience. We took a private standard pool which was worth the price.
B.
Amazing! Price for the amount of pools you can try and the views are definitely worth it. If you forget anything, they rent it so there’s no excuse. Pretty cool with having the history and educational information on the types of hot springs in the area.
B.
Adequate parking for firespray 31 class patrol and attack craft
j.
Good to go on a rainy day so u dont overheat fast
S.
Great choice for a girls weekend away from the kids. We each had a different treatment. One had the stress massage, one the aix wetroom massage and I picked the mud wrap with a 30 min add on massage. We each loved our pick. All came out feeling a million bucks.
J.
Pool was fantastic 5*... but the Cafe/ restaurant was frustrating. The food was OK when it came but it the burgers came a good 10 minutes before the toasties they forgot drinks didn't listen to orders properly and so missed things. It was hard work and they weren't apologetic at all.
Z.
Absolutely lovely, booked a private space deluxe and my it was one of the best I have been too, somewhere u must go when your in town
I.
This is our third or maybe fourth visit to Polynesian Spa over the last 5 years. Deluxe lake spa are our favourite pools. They did a very good job creating these amazing facilities as well as looking after them, it is impressive. We absolutely love this place.
E.
Great for family's, private groups or couples.
The family area had a large pool with a shallow end and deeper end, and a large safe concrete slide going into the shallow pool, great for the kids.
2 hot spas overlooking the family pool for the adults to relax and watch the kids in the family pool.
Our family of 4 adults and 2 kids really enjoyed and would do again, recommend.
R.
Well worth a visit great atmosphere lovely coffee shop staff great friendly
J.
Paid for a private spa - would recommend to get away from the bustle of the main pool area. Private spas overlook the lake and have toiletries for use in your own secure area. Perfect for relaxing after a long bout of travelling, exploring or out on the trails. Highly recommend.
R.
Amazing, even on a cold spring night. We went to the Pavillon pool. Perfect for us! I don’t believe younger kids are allow in that side of the pools.
Would recommend taking a water bottle.
K.
Everytime I've been here it's been awesome. Excellent staff, excellent relaxation, excellent massage/facials! Loved their private pools. Pricey for big families but an well deserved treat and date night. Can be busy at times with tourist during the day but more calm at night
J.
Such a beautiful relaxing place. Great staff and a all over great place to go.
G.
So relaxing. Multiple pools of differing temperatures. I just wish the cold plunge shower had more water pressure. More of a cold sprinkle than a cold plunge.
N.
I've always liked going to the poly pools been a Rotorua local but tonight the water was just a touch too cold and I've grown up so the family pool isn't as deep as I remember.
C.
A little pricey, but just about makes it worth the cost! The massages were very good and the five different pools you can experience before & after are great too. Plenty of space, so doesn't feel over crowded. The alkaline pools really do feel a lot better on the skin - hard to describe in what way, but they do! The setting is amazing, with views across the lake from the hot pools.
A.
Ahhhhhhhhh the Polynesian Spa. Come on New Zealand try something new! Like a Bantha!
C.
Went into a private pool with a lake view. Beautiful environment with the stone pool and appropriate plants beside it. Totally relaxing sitting in the mineral water, enjoying watching gulls glide above the lake . Towels included in the price. Shower and drinking water tap by the pool. Staff pleasant and helpful.
R.
If you don't mind the stink of sulphur. Then the warm pools are great. Thoroughly recommend this.
M.
Great views, intimate private spas, therapeutic, and inviting. Such a great relaxing place to visit.
L.
Spa with a lake view. Really enjoyable. Temperature control occasionally deviates from spec.
G.
Good facilities, we were charged incorrectly, & it took 40mins to sort out. We waited, &waited...
M.
If you’re looking for a special treat, the hot mineral waters at the Polynesian Spa will serve you well. With 28 mineral pools and a range of health and wellness treatments at its disposal, the spa is the perfect place for a retreat after a long day of exploring. It’s even open until 11 p.m. to cater to those visitors wanting to finish things off on a relaxing note.
D.
Wonderful natural mineral waters. We were in the "Deluxe Adult" spa, so the pools are all natural looking. The views out onto the lake are lovely. There are different pools at varying temperatures (we liked the hot ones), and there is a special mineral pool (the Priest's Pool, I think) that has waters that are purported to be especially healing. We loved this place, and visited on two different days.
H.
Great experience. Can get busy though
A.
For one of the most recommended spa around the world, the place is extremely fair priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there and the staff took us through the place, and the room. They're well maintained and clean. I would recommend for couples to get the private pool as it faces the lake. Enjoy the privacy with an open air setting. Beautiful place!
J.
A nice and relax place for visitors. Many different size of pool with different tempurature. The price is deep and self services.
D.
We only went i to the family pools because the rest was too expensive for a family. The family pools are basic and look dated. You don’t get the feeling anyone cares about the place.
C.
Heaven on earth...if that were possible, this would be the place. What we loved most was the natural settings of all pools, with sensational views of Sulphur Bay and the geothermal activity. Spent about 4 hours in the acidic and alkaline pools, and ended the evening so fresh and relaxed.
H.
Very relaxing day indeed! Took the adult package and my partner and I don't have children . The outside thermal pools are amazing and over look the lake which is beautiful. We could have stayed in their hours. It was lovely and quiet when we went, midday on a week day. Very pleased that they provide robes and towels etc bit also shampoo and conditioner in the shower which was very good quality. They have an indoor pool which children are allowed go use which is lovely because it means the outside pools are adult only so very relaxing. I would recommend going on a cold/rainy day, so much more satisfying being in an outside thermal pool while it's cold outside !
D.
Friendly staff and such a nice place to relax
D.
This place was pretty good and fairly cost-effective for what you got. We started off with some time in the geothermal pools before getting a mud wrap massage which was very good, but I didn't feel any particular healing powers or anything from the whole experience, just a kind of stinky hot pools with a nice massage afterward.
A.
lovely ... lake better than stars maybe. rocks can get slippery. Emergency buttons would be recommended in private pools perhaps.
A.
A great way to enjoy the Hot Springs. We got the outdoor Deluxe Spa pkg for our family of 4(2 adults and 2 teens). We enjoyed 5 pools of different temperatures and a cold plunge pool. We went just after sunset and it was quite busy but the sky and view was spectacular. Absolutely recommend it. I was too late to book a treatment but they appeared luxurious.
T.
Nice Relaxing dip in the Geothermal Mineral spas a range of private rooms with views of the Stars. ..
S.
It's so good, that I have to go there every school holidays
J.
Definitely a good place to relax. Good price and venue options. Either you can go for public pool or one of those private pools for only 2 person which caters couples most of the time. The private pools are more pricey than the public ones but that is basically common to have your own private space.
D.
Lovely relaxing place.
Changing room floors could do with a bit more cleaning but other than that it is amazing
B.
I love the polynesian spa! Value for money! Central and luxury options!
J.
We used the 'adult' side of the spa. The other users quietly and respectfully went about their use of the facility without making the place feel busy even on a Saturday afternoon. The change rooms were clean and inspired confidence in the place. Well worth a visit.
T.
Lovely place to relax especially during sunset in the cold air. It is not as special as it is hyped up to be though.
K.
Partner and I drove here for the day from Palmy and it was totally worth it. So nice to relax in and feel the stress leave your shoulders, Would Highly Recommend. Would be even more awesome if they incorporate a Cafe or bar to the facility
F.
Had relaxing massage was very nice, great therapist
S.
Great place to chillax and soak in the lakeview and earth's goodness!
B.
Wonderful spa and best location for lake view.
A.
Was a bit limited for my daughter and I but was lovely.
S.
Lovely place to relax
A.
Great place in winter. There is separate area for families, with 3 different pools.
K.
There were several options, including a children's pool area, adult pools, and private pools. There was a wait for the private pools so we enjoyed the adult pools. There are several pools with varying temperatures, the highest being 41C. There are separate bathrooms for men and women, and you need to bring swimmers and a towel (you can rent these for a fee). We paid $30 each which we thought was a bit pricey, but it was a nice experience!
s.
It's a nice place to enjoy the thermal pools. A word of caution - keep drinking water during the bath and ensure that you have had proper food before you enter the pool as it can be exhausting and you might feel tired.
M.
Awesome place to soak and relax. No kids in the Pavillion pools. A nice place to sit and admire the view while contemplating your day.
A.
It's a lovely experience being able to soak in warm mineral baths whilst looking over the tranquil waters of Lake Rotorua.
S.
Fabulous, from the original priests mineral baths to the new aix shower treatments at the beauty spa, you will relax! soothes all sorts of aches and pains and treats a host of other ailments, great juices at the bar too, lovely natural products, you can't go wrong visiting here,
S.
A must try in Rotorua. Please allow min. 6 hours...dont do it in rush. Spa treatments will fill up fast, so prior booking is very much recommended.
J.
It was good but the old original pools are closed as they are now considered heritage, there is information about the history on plaques nearby. You can still relax in the new pools that have tremendous views of the lake and sitting on the bottom of the pool or on a seat is comfortable.
B.
I’d traveling to the Polynesian Spa, I would almost say it’s necessary to make sure you get a private pool. The sheer amount of people in the public pools is a little overwhelming, however, we ventured for a deluxe private pool and loved our time there. Sure it’s short lived and the smell can get overwhelming sometimes due to the sulfur, but it’s very relaxing and the views are nice.
D.
Really excellent service. We got a couples massage and spa appointment. The deluxe spa rinse beforehand is great - so be sure to arrive 30-45 minutes before your massage appointment!
C.
Recommend going to the pavilion baths as there are more baths here and a greater variety than the other options. Also it's quieter and less crowded here. The pools are outside so go during the day if you want views out over the lake; go at night if you want to look up and see stars and have cooler weather as a contrast to the hot pools
M.
I come here when ever I'm in Rotorua. But it was getting quite pricey. They have dropped their prices now. It really is a gorgeous spot particularly in the evening as the sun sets. There are a variety of pools to choose from. With different temps and water compositions.
N.
Awesome place to relax. We opted for a private lake side pool. Definitely worth the extra. You get 30 minutes to chilk out and enjoy the surreal view of a geo thermal lake.
D.
A really nice place to relax and spend some hours after a long walk or an exhausting day. They offer different packages - bring your own towel and lock if you don‘t want to pay. We went for the Deluxe Spa which included everything and were happy.
A.
Just go! It's so nice. Lots of options.
S.
Amazing and very clean. Was very relaxing. The only negative was that the slide in the family pools were going into a shallow water so it was easier to be hurt
P.
Great massage and spa location next to Lake Rotorua. View from hot pools across to Sulphur Point. I had hydrotherapy massage with body polish. Very relaxing. Excellent customer experience in spa. Cafe was below par rude staff limited menu and tiny portions.
C.
Excellent place to relax and unwind. Visited here on new Years day and were treated nicely. Very clean, well kept and modern.
Even though weather was warm, still worth a visit. Different pools at varying temperatures and mineral composition make it a rounded and great experience.
A.
This is an excellent place and we always visit when we come to Rotorua. We decided to use the public pools rather than the private and came on a cold Friday night. Paid 30 each and went pool to pool trying the different temperatures. These pools are for relaxing in. There are drinking water fountains scattered nearby which are essential. Do go.
S.
Highly recommend, so beautiful and relaxing. The lake spa is my favorite, a lot quieter then the standard pools plus a few extra like towels are provided meaning you only have to take a few bits and pieces.
B.
Pros:
- close to the centre of town (closest pools to town?)
- a good selection of pools for vary budgets and ages
- facilities seemed pretty clean
Cons:
- booking online is a waste of time, was cheaper to buy in person
- the lifeguards could possibly get unruly younger kids under control in the family pool
A.
Great experience. Had the massage and mud 2 hr package. I could hear the birds on the lake from my therapy room. The service was professional from start to finish in the spa and we floated out.
N.
We choose the pavilion package which is the cheapest. I was worried we wouldn't have good views but was reassured quickly. At least four of the baths in the pavilion have amazing direct views of the lake.
On paper it's the best package since it has 8 pools (for nz38) which is more pools than any other package (which are all more expensive). One caveat is that they are all hot pools. I would have really liked a cold pool to go to between the extremely hot pools. Other packages do include cold pools which I think would elevate the experience.
Otherwise, a great experience. We went on a weekday morning, there was only 3 other people around :).
D.
Bought the Spa Lake package for two. Lake views are okay, but the pools are wonderful. Hot pools range from 36, 38, 39-42 Celsius, plus a cold plunge pool and shower (around 16 Celsius), and lounge chairs. Price included towels, facilities for showering and changing, as well as body wash and lotion. Great for recovering from a tramp or just relaxing. We went mid-day, mid-week, and it was not crowded.
R.
Relax in a geothermal pool and have the stresses and strains taken away with a massage - great place to relax and unwind!
H.
Best thermal pools we have been to - well maintained and not a tacky concrete vibe like so many others! Great views from some of the pools and well maintained, clean and tidy changing rooms. Went to the 5 pool complex. Doesnt cost much for a private pool for up to 4 adults for 30 mins.
S.
Fantastic experience. I particularly enjoyed the private 'rock pool' style baths. It felt like you were sitting right out onto the water, looking up at the stars and across the lake.
Pool temps are great, not super hot or anything uncomfortable. Facilities are clean and well kept, staff are friendly and helpful.
S.
I'm disabled, but it's not obvious and I don't think the staff knew this when he did this. I went here about six years ago and I was an incredible amount of pain. I remember the pools feeling so nice and for once feeling less pain that I'd had in years. The best part though, and I'm sure he wasn't supposed to do this, when closing the security guard saw how happy I was and let me stay twenty minutes after close. That memory and that feeling of not being in pain has stuck with me so long and made me so happy for so many years. I really hope this type of customer service isn't chastised, because its meant I've told everyone I met about this place and the fantastic memories it gave me. The pools feel great, the prices are ridiculously cheap and the staff are kind, caring and disability friendly. :) also they're all cuzzes, so it's good to chill with the staff too ✌🏼
E.
A heaven on Earth. I wish I didn't have to leave. I could stay there forever!
S.
There's something for everyone. Family pool for fun with fam bam, private room like this picture for people who need more privacy. Couple packages. Spa packages..nice and relaxing. Personal preference, feels the best during winter. The hot pool warm you to the core.
w.
Lovely place we had a Deluxe private spa and we will definitely do it again.
D.
If you plan to go there, you would better have only few belongings with your own towel. Historical background and natural outdoor hot spring are beneficial but it is too small and is not providing locker but the shelves. Parking lot is also small to cover all visitors, so you should wait for your parking turn. Your first visit can be enough to enjoy but for your second visit, I'm not sure.
J.
Absolutely fantastic experience. A little bit on the dear side but well worth it. You'll have a choice of a variety of temperature rated pools whilst soaking up the view of the lake and bird life. A nice cafe and shop are also onsite to enhance the tourist experience. Yes well worth a visit.
S.
We opted for the lakeside option, a few different pools with different temperatures - the next day our skin felt amazing!
Beautiful views, towels included in price. It was a chilly and rainy day and the hot pools were perfect!
M.
Best smoothies at their little cafe aswell!
K.
A must-do experience when in Rotorua. We booked the deluxe private spa and after waking by the public pools on the way to it I would definitely recommend this option (not only for the peace/ privacy, but these also offered a view of the lake that you didn't get from the public pools).
I suggest to do this at the end of the day as the pools will leave you feeling super light and relaxed!
PRO TIP: If you are in a larger group ask to book multiple private pools; you pay per person not per private room, so may as well have a bit more space (i.e. If you're a group of four, you can all be in one pool or you can book two pools with two people in each, it's the same cost). Also make sure to remove your jewellery beforehand as the sulphur will ruin it.
F.
Spa family deal with gelato ice cream is a must try
t.
Awesome lifetime experience... I went to the adult pool since private pools were pre booked. But to my surprise, even adult pools were very good . Timings do matter; so appropriately check-in during low traffic hours. Crowd usually starts coming in by 7 PM. We went there at 5 pm and it was full empty.
J.
I’ve heard about this place from simple man who’s making his way through a galaxy. I’m so satisfied because I came to New Zealand and tried something new. There are no words
C.
Lovely and relaxing place. Visited on a Friday afternoon so it was nice and quiet.
M.
Really love it there. I will go again.
L.
Such a beautiful place to unwind and relax in. The adults only section had a mixture of hot pools including a "cool-pool". From every hot spring pool you could see a view of the stunning Lake Rotorua.
relaxed form the day time until the night time, night sky and hot pools lights made the experience even more better! Beautiful place, will return!
N.
Well organised, well presented and great value ice creams! Private spas rooms are OK although slightly spartan in feel. Pools are rocky ponds, nice and hot. Public areas have a bit more character. Helpful staff. Book a time in advance as it was quite busy even off season on a late Sunday afternoon.
M.
A little expensive but lovely relaxing time here
J.
My partner and I had a relaxing evening in a private deluxe pool at sunset! Highly recommend this option if you’re wanting some peace and quiet - it’s well worth it! The staff were amazing and we will definitely be returning :)
M.
Clean everywhere, hot pools are nice temperature about 40℃.
L.
The adult space is so much better, if you are travelling alone definitely come here and enjoy some down time. It’s also great if you are travelling with a bunch of friends. There are no children in this area which makes it so much better! The extra few dollars is worth it.
H.
We went to the Polynesian Sea with 4 adults and 1 kid and it was amazing. It was a Monday 10am when we arrived and there wasn’t a lot of people. It felt like we had the e family pool spa to ourselves with a lifeguard on duty. People here are super nice and even let our 4 adult spectate without needed to pay since she didn’t want to go in! Hands down would come again and you should too!
J.
Stunning views set in a calm private environment. Stopped in before heading home and it was perfect. Used the adults only spas to enjoy the complete quiet that we needed. Would love try the private spas next time. Highly recommend. Affordable.
J.
Clean, fun, such a great place to unwind, heal and restore.
B.
Quite expensive if you choose deluxe pool. For the cheapest pool, there are many people and you need to bring your own towels. The locker can be used only once. It’s worthy a try but don’t expect the same experience as hot springs in Japan !
C.
Very relaxing from the moment you walk in!! I felt like I was already in a spa from the lovely lady who served me to purchase my ticket. Facility is clean sometimes I was a little worried about leaving my belongings in the open non locked boxes but then I remembered that I'm poor and had nothing worth stealing anyway. Next time I will purchase a locker to sooth the anxiety. I spent a really long time there which I assumed I wouldn't be able to handle because of the heat. But with the variety of different tempered waters time passed by and I was there for 4 hours! Guard/life guard dudes were really funny, felt safe too didn't expect so much good banter while taking a spa. A very social environment so I would recommend going with a group unlike myself but it was relatively easy to find people to chat too. View was amazing would like to check the private pools next trip from what I saw they are worth the little extra cash. Only thing I could suggest is that there could be more water sources to refill your bottle (you're going to need one of those) as the only one I could find was inside and I spent most of my time outside unless I'm blind and there is one outside well, Bob's your uncle. Check this place out little on the pricey side but I think it's worth it!
