M.Amazing white sand beach. great for swimming , walking on the beach and perfect when the swell is big surf is up. Its also a great spot for fishing , excellent boat ramp or cast from the rocks. Also a sanctuary for the native birds with a pest fee enclosure. And if the beach or boating is not your thing there is a great golf course with amazing views
I.Not a windy day. The sea was very calm. Love this Omaha beach. White sand and very clear and clean water. Had a lot of fun. Water was warm and managed to enjoy swimming and water boarding. A good day to travel away from Auckland and very relaxing day. Got good shady area for picnic. Also has a bbq area to use.
K.Nice to find beach’s like this still exist in Auckland. Only thing I didn’t like was too much shells but that’s not something I can complain about lol. Has a decent amount of parking spots & I went on a pretty busy day (Saturday). Has public toilets & a couple shops. Overall nice family spot to chill & take a refreshing dip.

A.A nice white sandy beach with clean water. A good place to swim, play, or walk on the beach. Depending on the weather, it can either be a calm or wavy water. In a good sunny day, the beach will be very busy. Finding parking in the area is incredibly challenging; unless if it's a very wet day.

A perfect place for a “beach day” with family or friends. It’s one of our favorite North Island beaches!
A great beach for sunning, relaxing, long walks, and swimming. It seems to be popular with surfers and kite boarders, too.
For some reason, the water temperature here seems slightly warmer than other beaches around Auckland, and that makes it really great for those who enjoy getting into the water.
There is a small shopping center with a convenience store and a cafe next to the beach (the cafe is only open until 2 or 3 PM, but the convenience store stays open late for snacks and drinks, including wine and beer). There are public toilets, changing rooms, and an outdoor shower available.
There is also a small public park with a playground and picnic tables adjacent to the beach entrance, and plenty of free parking.
Definitely worth the drive out to see this beach and enjoy it for a day!

A.Beautiful beach. Has few shops upfront to stop by and grab something to drink and eat. Toilets are kept clean. Great spot to take your kids out for surfing or picnic. Dogs can run around unleashed during the winter period. Should be on leash during the summer time.

V.The lesser known surfing beach compares to Orewa. However, the view is stunning and the waves are so tempting. Highly recommended white sand beach in Auckland.
B.Stopped by after visiting the Matakana Farmers market since we were nearby. It wasn't busy so it was easy to find a park. The beach was also quite open and the sand was quite fine. The beach doesn't have any sort of shade including trees so it might be a good idea to bring an umbrella.
There was also a playground and grassy area to the side of the carpark which looked nice. Outdoor seating and what appeared to be a BBQ. Seems like a nice place to lounge about.
N.Hands down my favorite beach.
There is a picnic area with a BBQ station and picnic tables around. A bathroom with outside shower to wash of the I wanted sand. A dairy and a cafe in the carpark and a playground for the little kiddies.

R.The beach is beautiful, there is a good kids playgroud. However, the grass had a lot of thorns. The kids couldn't play without shoes.
A.Beautiful but not well catered for parking and only one (very extremely busy) place to buy snacks and ice cream. Some serious expensive boats and jet skis and cars all over the "suburb" so likely being kept exclusive.
J.One of the whitest sands you can find in NZ, flies take a lot of charm away but still one of best spots to resemble European beaches (minus the flies)
J.Another super east coast beach. Great white sand, good surf and terrific for walking the dog. You can ride horses most of the year round and generally it's just a beautiful beach with easy access and very family friendly.

L.This speech is a very long drive north, especially in traffic. However the drive is worth it as the beach is beautiful and pristine, and the water is fairly calm. This is a great spot to go to relax and have a quiet day to yourself.
C.Rode to and along the beach today with my partner and it was amazing!!! Lovely ride in from Matakana too , just watch out for the soft sand
S.Good beach but little crowded.
N.One of our favorite places here in NZ. There is one free public BBQ equipment right in front of the toilet & shower as well as coffee shops. The beach is quite crowded. The waves look not very strong but DO NOT under estimate it!
g.One of the most beautiful beaches around. Surf is small but good for beginners. Often a lot of people at the beach but it's never crowded.

K.Very short walk from car park to beach, lush white sandy beach carries on and on, 10 mins away from a upmarket town Matakana, wish we knew about it earlier so we can spend a few more of days here! A good few freedom camping sites right on seafront nearby a great beach, that is an easy 1-hour car ride from downtown Auckland. Beautiful white sand beach, with some waves on the smaller side, convenience store and cafe in the parking lot for the beach. Not crowded so easy to find a spot. Reasonably shallow and easy on your feet with no rocks and shells on your way. If you are a surfer, body or board server or enjoy jumping the waives this is the beach for you. Not ideal for swimming or kids paddling.
Plenty of parking and grass area with trees to retreat under the shade for lunch and s snooze or visit the near by cafes
L.A classic swimming beach that you don't have to worry much about what the tide is doing. Sometimes has alright waves but usually pretty chill. When the tide is further out the harder sand is good for games. Make sure to bring cover though as can be pretty roasty out in the open. Slip, slop, slap only gets you so far!
T.White sand beaches, beautifully clear water, lots of room... what’s not to like?

J.Beautiful beach and unfortunately becoming more and more popular especially with out of townies (moi) and probably because Auckland beaches becoming polluted post heavy rain recently.
Nice smooth sandy beach and manned by life guards / surfer club. Toilets really pong but what public facilities at beaches don't.
Parking became more sparse as the day wore on with some having to park 100+ metres away.
Consolation there is a Superette shop and cafe on-site which are very popular, I guess its local to and serves the residence.

A.Lovely beach. Have a stroll along the coastline, pick up some shells, swim between the safe and guarded poles, followed by a milkshake at the cafe. A lovely way to spend some hours away from home and catch some salty air.

s.Great big clean sandy beach, fantastic about 4pm on Sundays when all the day trippers have gone, the perfect time to enjoy a swim or just stroll along the sand. Remember if just doing a day visit stay close to the surf club area as the only toilet facilities are situated there and take your rubbish home with you😁👍during the holiday periods be mindful of lots of foot traffic & cyclists crossing the estuary causeway keep your speed down it's not a drag strip folks👍
K.Went here Christmas Day for the first time. There was plenty of parking and a short walk to the beach with toilets close by. Beautiful white sand and the water wasn't too cold. The waves were large, but no undertow or riptide. I'd enjoy going back again!

Generally highly populated, but nonetheless one of the most stunning beaches the Auckland region has to offer.

J.Favourite beach to go swimming and boogie boarding. It is a lovely beach, perfect for families as it is safe to swim and also life guards are on site. Big plus are toilets, changing rooms and showers before you enter beach. You can also go for a nice walk along the beach on paved walkway.

G.It's beautiful it's calm, sand is lovely. Went there in winter and thoroughly enjoyed walked along the beach. Fair amount of others there but not crowded. Would recommend a jacket I'd you're there in the winter! Would say it is very very busy in summer. Few shops around but there is a dairy and coffee shop I believe.

A.Picture Postcard location. Starting to hot up for the summer now. Safe beach with part time guards visible. Dairy & Cafe close by. Excellent beach for dog walking. New children's playground on site, electric bbq available undercover. Toilets recently renovated.
M.Wonderful down the spit end, all the nesting oyster catchers, dotterels, and so many and great to see. Give them the space and they can be enjoyed. Would appear the predator proof fence is doing the right job. Nice to be away from the human clutter on the beach.
W.Big clean white sand beach. Loved spending the day there with the kids who were learning to body board. It has lifeguards, bathrooms, park / play area, park benches and a couple of shops for ice-cream or coffee. No shade or trees on the beach so take something with.

A.Beautiful beach and lots of room for everyone! Can be some pretty good surf depending on conditions. There is surf lifesavers in the summer. Kids playground nearby and some shops and cafe.
A.Big waves g, massive barrels, pretty good for body surfing I would recommend for skilled body boarders, not for surfers because the waves close out fast. Really interesting sandbar aswell. This beach does have a wedge and I'd call the waves shore break so could be dangerous for unconfident swimmers.
k.Very pretty beach filled with lots of sea shells. Excellent place for a family to hangout and have fun with kids. Little bit high tides yet shallow water so you can have a great fun.
N.Lovely white sand surf beach, but no shade on the beach - so bring your own. There's a lifeguard patrol so it's only safe to swim between the flags. Near the Surf Life Saving Club there is a car park, a park with trees for shade, a playground, a cafe, and a convenience store.

S.Stunning white sand ocean beach. Apart from 3 weeks over Xmas, never too crowded. Awesome walk the length. about 7km total if walking end to end return. Clear the mind and replenish your soul!
Y.It's a very beautiful white sand beach with beautiful landscape , dog friendly and many sea shells to collect! There are many cafés around the beach that are worth trying.
S.Great beach for family. Fun waves for kids to play at times. Playground by the beach and a cafe. For surfers, waves are usually little bit closed for long surf ride and can be flat. But again, good fun waves when the time is right.
C.Soft white sand that goes for miles. The life guards are always alert when on patrol. The water is very beautiful and clear. Outside the beach is a great park for picnics games and allsorts of fun. There is also little built into the ground trampolines and swings, slides and a climbing wall. The changing sheds are on for these size but they do smell something bad, they have a little village area with big dairy, Nick nack store and a cafe. All in one of my favorite beaches.

J.First beach North of Auckland that is pristine, and does get good surf in the right conditions. The whole area around Matakana is one of my favorite get away spots, close to everything that you need but far enough away from the concrete jungle.
A.Very nice beach and very good atmosphere with very good people and their pets playing all around on the beach. One of the best places to relax after a hard working week.

M.My favourite beach in the north. A short drive from Matakana and you land on a beautiful surf beach complete with surf lifeguards. The waves are a lot strong than they look so be careful when swimming here.

y.I Love it. A good view to see the sunset. Very windy but very clean, and they have a big playGround too. There's a coffee shop nearby and a dairy.. the staff there are very friendly.

N.This beach is definitely yuppie status. If you are looking for beautiful landscapes lined with beach front mansions this is your spot. Clean beach and pretty but the houses are a bit much.
C.Beach was lovely, but amenities were seriously lacking. Bathrooms were disgusting with no cleaning done overnight on a weekend where Omaha hosted the Northern Regional Surf Carnival.

r.Wow wota beach. Just driving along there u kinda feel like u r entering a very prosperous property/people zone. A bit posh. Note it's a fair drive back to matakana if u need to go to da loo so make sure yr prepped 4 dat. I couldn't find a toilet there or on Google maps, very weird? But hey wota beach, nice.

S.This is a great little beach, perfect to spend the day relaxing in the sun. Suitable for long walks, frisbee and lots more.

S.White sand! Not too many people! And, despite my fears, I've never once spotted John or Max Key.
There are nesting dotterels here though, a threatened bird species that dogs seem to love. Please keep your dog on a leash, even if it's a really good dog.. you'd be as popular as peas on pizza if your doggo got tempted.
N.Needs better facilities such as better toilets and showers and they don't even have water fountains anywhere as this is a very popular place they need them but besides that it's really nice and beautiful

M.It's good for the soul to walk along Omaha Beach. The kaitiaki ( gardens) which show its history have been freshly painted. They are so impressive looking out to see and watching over the bones of the ancestors and reminding us of how insignificant we are in the scheme of things. One of the reasons why visiting Omaha Beach is good for the soul...that and the dotterels apart from the natural beauty and grandeur of the ploace.
