Highly recommend their bee tour. It's better to go in cool day. It was super hot in the bee suit!
I.
A brilliant shop, so tidy, clean, filled with interesting and amazingly good products. Staffed by people who enjoy their job and know retail. We came across it by accident but we will definitely go back again on purpose!! So many things to learn and so many fantastic items to try. We shared some of our goodies with friends and family and I'll be buying some of them on line now that we have had them once!! Great experience. It also has a learning area and play area for kids, couldn't ask for more.
J.
Really nice atmosphere and great Kapiti ice cream! Iced coffee was sooo good thanks!
E.
The staff are helpful and very informative about history of bees, and all products in the store. The bee features are amazing for adults and kids. There is tasting available for multiple products and a huge variety of all kinds of amazing bee, honey & mead gifts. Fantastic place to visit!

Amazing bee educational place. Good for kids especially in rainy weather.
Huge variety of honey and honey products - cosmetic, health products, souvenirs... There is a cafe and icecream shop. Cute picnic area just next to the shop. We love this place and always love to come back here.
Prices are a bit too much...

Extensive product range, beautiful gift ideas. Great family stop. Fun for kids. Good cafe. Very nice wines and liqueurs.
T.
Always go there when we visit Taupo. Great selection of honey products and some very good educational material and guide from the staff. Having an Ice cream facility just tops it off, specially on a hot day.
N.
We did the new honey shack tour for our end of year work function - such a cool experience! It was awesome learning about the bees and their life and seeing it all in action. I felt very safe in my bee suit and the team were super knowledgeable. We even got to spin our own honey and take some home - beautiful honey! Thanks everyone at the honey hive it was a delightful morning.
d.
Great place to veer off the road to visit. There's honey tasting and honey wine tasting plus honey skin care products to try out. Not a bad place for the kids either.
A.
What a gem! We received a warm welcome as we arrived, had great coffee at their little indoor coffee shop and the lady at the honey and mead tasting desk was phenomenal! Her knowledge on the products is amazing 😀
Definitely worth a visit 👌
G.
Awesome shop with an amazing variety of honey products but only gave it 4 stars as I felt the products were very over priced! We did some honey tasting and had a lovely ice cream while we were here too. A great place to stop and browse.
K.
Adorable shop! All things bee related can be found here. Really friendly people and great products. Worth the stop
s.
Great spot to learn about bees and honey.
Excellent customer service with taste testing and learning about the different honey flavors. Highly recommended.
P.
Lovely people who served us. We enjoyed tasting a variety of beautiful honey and we bought few because some of them are not sold in the shops. Make sure you stop on the way through Taupo. If you are visiting the Huka Falls then mind as well go to visit this place near by.
H.
Huge selection of honey products from variety candles which smell devine to hand creams to liquor based treats such as liqueur and brandy. They also have an education corner about bees for adults and kids. It's massive and an enjoyable experience when anyone visits Taupo.
A.

W.
GREAT place to buy honey! They have a free tasting of almost every honey they sell (got a good range of selections as well). They also have a small education corner about honey (there is a live honeycomb with real bees that you can see through). Got kids corner as well. And the best is you have to taste their honey ice cream! Superb! The staffs are also informative and friendly.

M.
Nice place to stop over on the way to huka falls to learn more about bees and honey. They offered free tasters of all their honey at the back which is really nice.
The honey ice cream is tasty so worth a try. And they sell all sorts of honey products including drinks and hand creams. There's also a window into where all the bees are which is cool yet a little bit icky.
Also, if you're coming here - check out rock and ropes next door, it is awesome fun for all ages!
K.
Upon entering the hive you are hit with the most enjoyable smell of honey. The staff here were so friendly and warm it almost felt like they were old friends. My partner and I went on the honey tour and learnt so much through interaction with bees, how a colony works and how honey is extracted and made. Jill (I hope I spelt her name right) our tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of the questions we threw at her! we couldn't recommend this place enough to anyone visiting Taupo. its definitely a must see. we cant wait to go back and we will be telling all our friends to at least visit!
J.
Enjoyed looking around the shop. Huge selection of interesting things to buy. I buy the Manuka honey moisturizer. Just divine to put on dry skin. Smells lovely too

R.
This is a great spot to stop at (make sure you check out the Huka Falls while you're here too). They offer honey tasting and also free mead tasting (honey alcohol, you can try up to 3). Also a lot of other honey-based products that they sell. There's also some areas for children (teaching about the importance of bees). Very glad we dropped in.
S.
Sweet place for honey and bee lovers. They've more than just basic honeys. They have samples of a lot of things there, that you can try.
T.
Great little place to visit. You can see an actual hive of honey bees, and there are informative posters and a video about bees and how hives work. You can taste different NZ honeys to find your favorite, and of course, you can buy honey. They also sell a range of NZ made products in addition - a SPF 50 sun cream made using Manuka honey; various hand and body care products using lanolin or honey, and there's a range of Rotorua thermal mud products. You can also purchase barista coffees and rolled ice-cream. Worth a visit for sure.
L.
Not my kind of thing but once I was in the hive is awesome and all the people who work there were so nice. The mead tasting went so well I bought some.
S.
Free honey testing. There's a small space like a honey museum. You can watch bee from inside the building. And there's space for kids to play.Definitely worth a visit even you don't buy any product.
C.
Well this is worth a visit, see live bee's doing their stuff! Information on video interesting, then all the different 🍯 honey to buy, also the honey ice-cream worth a try, while you watch the brave climbers next door, and the high jumping going on!
D.
Went with the wife to get some skin care (yawn) 😌 came out with some beer yaya!
B.
Nice shop with informative details on bees and honey. Very friendly staff at the sampling of honey booth. Thinking of buying honey but just too pricey.
After all, it's a nice short stop after viewing Huka fall.
W.
As a bee keeper myself, I just had to call in and take a look. Lots of information on bees and bee keeping, also on how to protect them. Live hives were in action and you could hunt for the queen so children were having a go at spotting her. There was a large shop selling all sorts of honey besides Manuka honey and there were other bee related products for sale too from mead, to soaps, creams and lip balm.
B.
All things Honey and Bees. Strongly recommend that you stop here. Lots of goodies for young and old. Educational corner with videos for kids, live bee viewing...cafe for hot drinks, ice cream and snacks. Honey Gin, lots of beauty products and vitamins and off course Honey, lots and lots of Honey.

Will definately visit again to restock on Honey.
S.
I have been wanting to stop here for years and have never made the time, but finally now that I am travelling with a child I managed to get here and it was an awesome stop. Great areas for kids with toys. Being able to get up close to a hive with bees flying around outside was an experience I am happy to have given my daughter. Ended up walking away with a couple of types of very nice mead and look forward to another visit.
G.
Camped here for 3 nights.the shop is absolutely marvelous and the honey assortments are absolutely incredible. A must stop and shop.

Great shop! There are various cosmetics, foods and alcohol related to honey. Also, we can learn about bees.
I had Kapiti ice cream here, and it was extremely delicious!
T.
Every honey product you can imagine (including alcohol) None are cheap but it's well worth a look. They have indoor bees you can see working through glass, it's a bright and open layout and there is free tastings of about 10 different honeys! Take half hour to stop in and look through of you are in the area.
S.
Nice place to learn about honey and bees. With a taste test for each honey product and beverages
G.
For anything and everything honey related, this is your one stop shop. Honey beauty and skin care products, chocolate, honey mead, and a massive range of honey from around NZ. From the basic, to the very best (and expensive) Manuka honeys. Definitely worth the stop.
K.
A bit on the pricey side but it's a neat place to check out. There's free samples!! If you love honey, you must come!
s.
Friendly staff with a huge selection. Some great gifts, but the honey isn't cheap. You are buying such good quality honey however. This isn't what you'll find in the local supermarket. We'll worth a visit
A.
Ice cream was yummmy! I got fig with honey, that was so delicious.
H.
Gorgeous little gifts hope too! The kids loved seeing the beehives! Super friendly service!
S.
Wonderful. Got a gift from my son-in-law Manuka honey shower gel and body lotion.

Great range of products. Extremely well laid out shop. The ability to try samples of honey and mead sells the products.
Kapiti ice cream on site is a winner also.
C.

A lovely place to spend some time, learning about bees, enjoying ice-cream, coffee & relaxing. The place is air conditioned. The staff are very friendly. I Learnt about about honey from the demonstration. I didn't realize that honey had different antibacterial grades! Cool! Enjoy and taste!
z.
Was so much stuff to look at and purchase. We had taste test on the honey wine and the honey itself. Cute lil kids area and real bees behind the glass to enjoy watching.
A.
Absolutely awesome place
Free honey tasting was awesome by Victoria helping my partner find a honey that she loved and then we went on to try the liquors.
Shop is well looked after . Owners clearly take massive pride in their work. Staff were all so happy and knowledgeable.
M.
Really seriously delicious honey. Must-try experience. Very friendly staff
C.
Honey, honey and more honey! From the liquid gold itself, to honey combs, honey mead, creams, bee inspired wears... you name it they probably have it (if it's to do with bees and honey that is). Even if you don't buy anything, there's taste testing of a range of honeys and meads, a cafe, and educational stuff!
Only downside is that some of the honey can be pricey, but for the quality you expect that!
R.
Fantastic place to visit to learn everything about bees and honey. The on-site store has an unbelievable choice of honey-related products: candles, honey, creams, drinks, etc. Overall, this is a fascinating place that's well-worth visiting.
O.
I liked how there were a lot little fun activities there for the children. Kept them occupied while we browsed around the shop. Came across a couple of funny little item's while we there. My daughter inlaw and I couldn't help but giggle when we saw them.
R.
We enjoy the tour very much. Highly recommended specially for children and also adults. Jill the beekeeper shown us the highlight bring a keeper as well as the honey extraction. We learn so much about bees. Don't miss the honey tasting as there are many other not so well known honey worth trying.
S.
Highly recommend if you haven't been already! All the staff were amazing and informative. I love that you can see the bees in the wall and taste all the honey and alcohol before buying. Good for all ages 👍
F.
I had a fantastic time at Huka Honey Hive doing their beekeeping tour. Our tour guide Jo gave an insightful and passionate talk on bees, and all throughout the tour I felt in very safe hands. It was so lovey to see the 'girls' (bees) go about their business, and they were quite undisturbed by our presence. The whole hive was deconstructed so we could see all working parts of it. We even got to meet the Queen! The best part was spinning the honey to take home at the end of the tour. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience.
H.
Amazing selection of honey, and other honey related and bee themed products. They also have some free games, dress ups, and small activities for children. I've been coming here since I was little and it's so cool to bring the kids here with me now.
K.
Interesting bee honey farm tour and products, testy local Manuka honey.
S.
Due to Covid, we couldnt get to see the hive and a real bees but it was nice drop by place for kids.
H.
Had a very nice visit here! Once we walked in the door, we were greeted and the woman excitedly pulled us over to the glass hives to show us that the queen bee was visible. Tasted a few different honeys and meads, and everyone working was friendly and seemed really passionate and knowledgeable. A great place to stop and stretch your legs!
R.
A cute place to stop and browse, with lots of artisan honey products. We enjoyed our coffee and ice creams; however I was disappointed to find I was directed to put the compostable cups, bowls and spoons into bins labeled 'general rubbish', despite the signs about working on environmental sustainability... Would love to see some further steps towards achieving this goal!
D.
Excellent place! Well worth a look, amazed at how big it was inside! Plenty of products and the Apple crumble ice cream was so yummy! The staff were so friendly and helpful! Excellent!
V.
Nice place to have free honey tasting and enjoy the exotic smells of candles and moisturizers and try different face and hand creams and oils. The great tasting honey products they have are mostly not available from supermarkets.
A.

L.
Free admission, a great place to show the kids how busy honey bees are and see them working in a safe environment. Excellent products in shop, and staff are so friendly. Really enjoyed our time there. Can also sit and relax have an ice cream.
M.
I've been visiting this place since I was a kid, so for me, it's the quintessential honey experience. It's changed a lot since I first remember it, but it's the same welcoming experience, with a remarkable array of honey, and honey products. The themed area for the kids is something ours still talk about, as well as having the chance to learn *so much* more about bees, hives, and honey. Being able to not only see them coming and going, but also at work inside the hives is a remarkable experience, which I always marvel at!
L.
Great experience, so much variety: honey, gifts, skincare, bee themed, buzzy bee, interesting facts too!
S.
This was a hidden gem, kids loved it, the staff were really lovely and the Buzzer coffee was so good! Highly recommend.
k.
Such a cool place to visit.. My 7 Yr old loved it
T.
This was for free and it was a great experience, ofcourse the tours are paid but we didn’t do that. Went with my boys (both under 2) saw the bees from the outside and inside in the hives. The products are countless and the ice cream was delicious. Plenty of things to buy as gifts too for all ages. We were there for about and hour all in all and we loved it.
T.
Sells honey-related products you may not find elsewhere. Also has a fun area for kids with great educational content. Was disappointed that they limit you to only 3-4 1ml tasters of mead (which they failed to tell me until I asked for a fourth taster and was given a flat "no" without reason) [I had to enquire further to discover the reason behind the refusal].
Overall was a nice store and a fun free activity.
C.
Very informative and a massive variety of honey products
L.
A good place for shopping honey and its goods. The staffs are friendly and helpful. We can taste the different honey for free. It's also a good place to understand how the bees collect the honey.
S.
This was an amazing place. You can see the bees at work through glass windows. I sat for about an hour watching this vety informative vido about the honey bee. It was well worth the visit.
K.
Very lovely place with wide range of product what you can try and then decide if you want to purchase it. The only thing is that everything there is pretty expensive. For what is on the picture we paid $350. :( But quality is amazing I must say.
P.
Lots of honey products to look at, taste tests and activities.
M.

B.
Did the hive tour today and it was a great experience. Jill was a friendly guide and gave some great information on bees, hives and honey. We got fully hands on with everything which was an unexpected yet positive surprise. A little on the expensive side, but it's something a bit different and we all enjoyed it, kids especially.
Q.
Cute little place. Got a couple knick knacks. Partner got mead. All in all great :)
C.
What an incredible attraction...they actually have a live honey hive encased in glass with a magnifying glass to have a closer view.Soaps, lotions, serums and much more can be found here including of course many different types of honey.a coffee shop with snacks is also found in store and the cappuccino is to die for.Highly recommended

C.
Very nice place and the honey is so yummy 😋
A.
What a lovely little surprise this was! Definitely recommend going and stopping here if you have the chance. The store is well presented and has a lot of items of interest. There's all manner of honey related items here including Mead and various honey from across NZ. There's also a lot of educational content on bees, so it's great for kids.
We had a bit of a mead tasting and were really impressed! Lovely flavors and the staff members took their time to explain what each one was. You can tell someone has put a lot of effort into the products as there's so much variety and it's so lovely. It's all made there from what I can gather, so kudos for making something so unique.
The honey itself is really well made, and you can try a massive selection of it from across NZ, including ones made on site. We didn't get a chance to try the on site cafe, but there's a lot of cool stuff there as well.
D.
We loved this shop! Lots for the kids to see and learn and do while the adults looked around and shopped. Super friendly staff that were wonderful at helping with sampling and deciding what to buy. Bought the most exquisite perfume which I love! Highly recommend to visit if you are in Taupo.

Such an interesting shop. I didnt realise there was so many , and varied products you can make which incorporates honey. The working bee hive is an intriguing thing to see. The staff are very helpful in explaining how the hive works. The kids have a special corner near the hive with books , bee keeping suits they can put on, and of course The Bee Movie is constantly playing. Well worth visit.

T.
Awesome store with honey and honey products galore! A honey and bee experience! Friendly and helpful staff.
J.
An amazing variety of honey products.
Why do the pictures of bees look like legless wasps, as a once hobby beekeeper I found that odd. But still give five stars.
D.
Where else can you go to taste 15 different types of honey, mead, honey liqueur, pickled onions, and bacon jam? It turns out that when tasted back to back, different honeys have quite unique flavours. Good little selection of things for kids to do and look at, bees to watch, and great ice cream. Certainly outdid my expectations.
m.
Excellent place for shopping honey and it's products. Very large selection of cosmetic products including skin care, sun block, facial care, and body lotion. Nice selection of spirit and wine which is based on honey. Brilliant sets of honey sweets. End your visit with assorted tastes of ice cream.

D.
Loved everything about this place. So many amazing products, incredible staff, inviting environment, tasty samples, a definitive stop if you're nearby!
S.
Really cool place, nice products and good samplers. The butterscotch liqueur was especially good. The ice cream sundaes were good too although I thought there would be more honey themed ice cream flavours. Just wish honey was a bit cheaper.
J.
Absolutely amazing place, the staff could not be more friendly, informative and helpful if they tried.
Would definitely visit again.
Going to be having some great honey for breakfast for a while.
R.
This place showcases a lot of honey and beekeeping related products, both historical and present-day. Many of which I was not aware of existed until I came here. Their honey ice cream was very delicious! The staff were helpful with local recommendations. They have their own beekeeping operation as well, you can see the bees in their honey comb structures. Quite impressive!

N.
Nice place.. full of joy and 🍯 products.. love the ice cream though ☺️
C.
Stumbled on this great place on our way to Huka Falls. Found it great and informative, the staff were very nice and we enjoyed having an ice cream by the fire. Olivia in particular was very lovely telling us all about mead and the local area. She gave us directions to where we needed to go. Would highly recommend.
C.
Ice cream is really nice here. Tastings are well worth the effort. But the honey products are clearly tourist prices, you won't find anything for less than $15 for 250g here.
S.
So many honeys, really worth ther visit. Very friendly and personable staff.
K.
Friendly staff and a cool selection of honey products.
Looking forward to drinking my mead
S.
You get to taste different kinds of honey for free, and they have a few displays for historical bee keeping equipment. You can also buy other things there such as hats, books, based on the theme, "honey". Its a nice place to check out if you're nearby. They also have a cafe, if you're hungry.
L.
Great stop for a variety of ages - if you like honey! There's an area for kids (from seeing bees, to video games & colouring). Mostly honey based/themed products; toys, lotions, drinks, candles, tea towels, fudge, etc.
The ice cream (kapiti at the moment) is great, and there are couches to eat at inside around a fire place for chilly weather!
It is very touristy, but I still love going every time I'm in taupo.
A good range of honeys - pahutakawa was in stock :). My only wish was that the taste testing was less limited/controlled, but I understand why it is the case.
G.
Interesting place to visit.
s.
Veey friendly staff, they sell great products, and honey taste really good. There was always long ques when we visited,
H.
Great place to visit on a rainy day! You can learn about how the bee colonies work, see them at work in the display area and taste dozens of different honeys and other locally made products. They also sell honey based beauty products and medicinal items and have a little cafe with a glorious fire and relaxed seating for you to warm with their in-house lemon, ginger and honey drink which just warms your soul :)
R.
Honey everything here!! Friendly service, helped me pick the perfect gift.. thanks!!
L.
This is predominately a shop, as far as I know there are only a few hives. There is a tour, but you can see three hives from inside for free. There is a good selection of honey, mead, creams, candles and gifts to buy.
A.
Lovely shop to look around, fantastic range of things to buy, ice cream to finish was the best

Absolutely loved coming and viewing all the amazing ways honey can be used. Am trying to find a shop online as there is so much id love to purchase
V.
Awesome place to visit!.
They have lots of honeys, health / beauty products, Mead/ honey wines/ liquors and tours to come!
Great for the whole family :)
J.
A building with an amazingly wide assortment of honey based products (mostly just honey and body care as well as honey based alcohol), information center about bees, a live hive, and really good ice cream. Definitely get the ice cream while you're there; I got the plum flavor, and it might have been the best ice cream I've had.
C.
Awesome place to have a nosey, would recommend going when it's quiet so you can have a good look around. Love their honey mead.
l.
Lovely staff, they have great knowledge of honey and bees, special thanks to Marg for assisting us today 🙌
Y.
So much to compliment them on but want to thank them for allowing motor homes to park in their car park overnight for a donation to suicide support. That's an amazing cause. I have experienced that 3 times in my life. Was lovely & close to Huka Falls we cycled there, & the Helicopter flight which was fun.
L.
Great place for adults and kids alike. We'll definitely be back for more ice cream and fun 😋
C.
Very informative! Definitely recommend swinging by
E.
Fabulous friendly staff, a great range of products and loads of information and things to do for the kids
M.
Always worth a visit when in Taupo, the honey tasting is my favorite!!
M.
Loved will be heading back to get more goodies soon
J.
Good range of honey products..don't expect to see too much of live bees..kids will get bored easily after 10mins. Honey tasting was good..
F.
Loved it
My friend accidentally broke one of the candles, thought the staff would be extremely upset. Friend was really startled but the staff was very kind and thoughtful, checked if we were alright and proceed to clearing it. Ended up buying heaps of products cause of her.
Beautiful place. Wide range or products
M.
A lovely way to spend 30-40 minutes. Lots of Bee goodies on offer. A little on the expensive side but there again you won't find much of what they have on offer anywhere else.
G.
Has great ice creams the family loved.
T.
Free tastings. Best thing was we got to use the popsicle sticks to scoop honey ourselves. Which made me feel at ease and not guilty. The girl was super helpful. I think I purchased more because I felt unpressured (I'm usually reluctant when staff is pushy or strict). Plus all the honey were delicious. Bonus kid area in a beehive shape. Super cute . Wasn't able to get the icecream as the line was a bit long.
A.
Really educational. Love how they show a live viewing of what bees do in their hives. And love how you get to test different ways the honey is made with different ingredients. Bought a bottle of wine too which tastes delicious!
V.
Very very nice. I give it a 10 out of 10. Lovely set up family friendly even watched the bees at work behind a glass panel. Thank you guys it was a great experience
K.
It is a beautiful store with all the info related to bees, lots of varieties of honey, bees wax wraps, lots of products made from honey, icecream, reusable produce bags, lip balm and many more things...
The most disappointing thing for me was the bees locked in for display...they should be allowed to be outside and enjoy the beautiful nature and be with mother earth...
D.
A lot of great info, as well as 3 different life gives you can see into. One of the best things about this setup is the large variety of Mead you can try before you buy (alcoholic beverage made from honey). They mix the Mead with several different kinds of spirits too (like whiskey, scotch, brandy, etc.), so it's a unique experience for sure!
L.
Great to see inside a bee hive with Glass walls of beehive. Enjoyed sampling alcoholic drinks made with honey. Yummy ice creams as well
Z.
Very informative place, learnt alot of things i didn't know before and the honey testing meant that I learnt alot more about bees and types of honey than I ever thought I would!
Y.
A nice little store with various honey and beauty products. A good place for a short stop to purchase some gifts and souvenirs that you may not be able to easily find anywhere else.
J.
I could have spent hours here! They have an active bee colony on site behind glass. They have another one outside that you could walk right up to if you want risk being stung. They have hundreds of bee related products, everything from alcohol to sunscreen, to bee pollen.
R.
This spot really knows their honey. They have an open hive showing the bees and a little bit of info about how beekeeping came to NZ, which I found to be very interesting.
There is a spot for the kids to relax too (I personally found it hilarious that they had the Bee Movie playing)
They ave an incredible selection of different types of honey and honey products, ranging fron hand creams to liquor.
There are also products from around the community, including rubs and pickles as well as great icecream!
B.
Nice little stop off as part of a day around Huka falls. Fun to look at the bees, and read about their role in agriculture and honey production. There's a little cafe inside with good ice cream.
Of course it is mainly a shop for all sorts of New Zealand honey produce including mead (free tastings!), cosmetics and of course, Manuka honey.
Don't lose control of your wallet here!
M.
Lots of honey products to sample and try. I appreciated the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff and the extensiveness of their products.
I felt that the products were a bit expensive but after sampling lots of honey and mead, we felt that we should at least buy something.
D.
Bought a few jars of raw honey and quality is perfect. But be aware that you should have some basic knowledge about honey because they sell in various standards and brands. If you aren’t those health conscious, ask for sample taste and go for those you prefer because they sell different brands and flavors.
S.
Lovely place with great variety of products to buy at shop.
C.
Cute little place to explore how bees work and the sustainable practices available in the industry, appreciate the amount of signage explaining different forms of honey and even cautions of travelling with it overseas.
Many, many tasters and testers available, from edible honey to hand lotions, cosmetic and even medicinal care. We bought the lavender honey 250Ml and wish we bought more!! You can taste the raw quality of limited processed honey....incredible.
We were just about to go back this morning to buy more however they open at 10AM and we have to hit the road :(
Keep up the great work guys, will definately order more online!!
G.
Visited Huka Honey Hive today and had an awesome time, such a interesting place. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We bought a selection of different products and feel they were great value for money. Most definitely a place we shall be visiting again and will also try out their online shopping. Thank you so much Huka Honey Hive.
R.
The shop assistants are so friendly and welcoming. Varieties of testers before making the right purchase, especially the liquor section.
R.
Cafe situated in a quiet area, in the middle of the superb honey shop. A must for anyone wanting a selection of fine products made from NZ honey, and good coffee.
A.
Great shop to stop by if you are on your way to huka falls. Honey everywhere ,from the region, from different plants... ice cream and kids games. Nice place for gifts to bring back to all!! I recommend
T.
This place is a must on your list to visit. An amazing range of honey products and well presented. But the working bee hives are most interesting. I also had a cup of tea and an icecream.
J.
Good place to get your honey! Free honey tasting before purchasing the honeys. Great service provided by the team.
They do sell great coffee too!
p.
Awesome staff they go out of their way to help you
D.
Wide selection of honey products. I loved being able to test things before I bought them too! Some very knowledgeable workers and delicious honey. 100% worth your visit!
M.
Worth a visit if you like honey, lots of different honey to taste, and honeymead and stuff too. Staff service however is quite poor. Was there and there were to girls that just stood away from the tasting tables and things just gossiping about people, and any questions you had they didn't really know anything and seemed more clueless than the customers. So besides that, its a nice treat, including for families
A.
Free honey tasting. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. This is a great place to come after visiting Huka Falls to pick up a gift.
A.
Honey infused products (tbh MAGIC) at its best, never thought what one could do with honey till the time i found this place, even service and tasting is great, full of knowledge and JO made sure to tell us how hard FEMALE honey bees work hahahah, but its definetly worth a visit. I loved this place and every time i visit Taupo, im going in there!!
S.
A HUGE selection of honeys which were all delicious but WA has the strictest rules about what can be brought in (110ml or under), leaving us with very little options. Ended up with a nice and rich handcream.
B.
Every time I play tourist in Taupo The Honey Hive is a must go to place. When I lived in Taupo it was the same thing taking people from out of town visiting.
T.
Huka honey hive used to be a lot better than it is these days, or maybe it was just because I was a lot younger. It would be awesome if there was a set time for a demonstration for how the honey is collected kind of like when you go to the zoo and get to see them feed the animals. Not sure if this is possible but I think it would be super interesting! There is a lot of cool interesting things that can be done would love to even see one or two more interactive activities out there to revive locals love for the place especially during school holidays.
I.
Great tourist attraction with plenty on display and products to buy. Large car park an open everyday. Very friendly staff. Right next door to confidence course and golf driving range and handy to Huka Falls, MTB park, Prawn Farm, cycle trails and much more.
G.
Honestly this place is all about providing knowledge about bees and good honey. Free entrance and you can see bee hives through glass. The shop has all kinds of varieties of honey and other products made of their local honey.
K.
A gift store but also an experience. The Huka Honey Hive has a live hive which you can view inside the gift shop and demonstration videos about honey bees. They also have many honey tasting stations and mead tasting stations. The staff were very nice.
M.
Everything bee and honey!
Great friendly and helpful staff.

A.
Great place for families, they accommodate for people of all ages
R.
It's a good place to bring kids to see inside a working bee hive and educational on how honey is made. Also a good range of products are sold on sight such as honey and bees wax.
T.
Vast variety of honey related products, New Zealand made gifts & beauty products.
Plenty if information about the beauty of the NZ honey bees and what they do to support us for kids and adults alike.
Always a new and exciting ice cream or two to try as well as sorbet. Think fejoia, macadamia nut, blood orange, the lost goes on. This time I tried salted caramel & chamomile....yum. if you're a coffee conoseuir then go for the Affogato.
Plenty of testers to try out for beauty products, condiments, spreads and of course meads, ports and liqueurs (My favourite spot)
They are big on sustainability so ask questions and check it out.

J.
Awesome place to see live bees in action, this place is in the close vicinity of best tourist attractin i.e. huka falls. Good range of products made up by productive bees..mostly popular for honey tasting.
They also showcast how they prepare honey, the staff are inclined to sell only their products. I and most of the people who entered with me were end up leaving without purchasing anything as their price were little high.
G.
Huge variety of New Zealand honey products. A "one stop" place if you are looking for any honey related product or for souvenirs. Got some honey mead, manuka honey, and honey based hand creme for eczema

A store that sells honey and its products. There is a cafe within that you can have a coffee break on your road trip.
The products can be found at most other places as well though, so nothing special.
O.
Didnt do much here, but the atmosphere was nice, the entertainment provided keeps children focused, nice area to be situated in
S.
Ok. Expensive and commercialized. I am sure they have many relationships to support but knowing retail I think most of the money is going one way.
P.
Educative, tasteful with look into beehive on your own naked eyes. Super fully equipped with wide range of variations of products made thanks to bees

The window with the bees inside was entertaining for the kids. The rest of the shop was 200% too expensive, the manager was very grumpy and the "coffee" took 20 minutes.
