Reviews of Caroline Bay
M.My husband and I walk there daily weather permitting. Always something new happening, from new ducklings, to a logging boat arriving. The Rose Garden is in full bloom, and is quite spectacular. The delicate fragrance is a bonus as one walks along the adjoining pathway. All credit to those who maintain the area
C.Enjoyed many hours here and had such fun looking at sculptures, looking at war memorial and spent time with the roller derby team who were practicing.
M.Great walks around the park and beach. Especially the rose garden and the Anzac tribute.
Penguins coming back at dusk is also a treat...near the container wharf side of the beach.

T.Beautiful restful well kept spot whether your a family or on your own
L.The annual carnival is a must do. Not as many rides as last time but great for the kids and parents. Visit the food stalls or take a picnic and the kids togs, great children's pool. Lots of parking and free toilets.
T.Fabulous spot to spend the night, lovely walks along the bay, penguins if right time of year, heaps of things to see around the immediate area for kids and adults, walk up to town from the steps at the promenade.
K.Excellent had a walk along the promenade, Reminded me of Margate Kent England where I played on the beach as a child. Incidentally watch T.V One tonight at 8.30pm and you'll see Bradley Walsh on the beach 🏖️ at Margate.
N.I've grown up going to the bay since I was a child. Great play to bring your children for a swim and a play in the playground and other activities including the beach.

R.Such a gorgeous bay with a beautiful family friendly picnic area play grounds and beach and for lighthouse lovers like me an awesome lighthouse.

R.We parked up for the night during the infamous Canterbury floods of 2021, in our campervan.
- Freedom camping was welcomed
- Council has set it up as such
- No fees
- Effluent dump station on site
- Toilets are a beach goers changing area, so simple.
- Tar sealed parking
- Recycling bins ♻️ on site
C.Caroline Bay is a great place to take the kids, or go for walk along the board walk. Is a skateboard park also a bike park for wee kids, safe swimming, playground area, clean toilets and just awesome place to sit an relax in the sun. Christmas time lots of family fun to be had. And as the sun goes down you can watch penguins walk up the beach 🌞

A.Stayed the night there, did think the boy racers might of been a problem on marine parade but settled down after a while

E.Absolutely handy to everything you need, motel owners, will do anything to help out. It is a comfy place comfy beds nice shower everything is clean and tidy. We would stay again.
N.Caroline Bay is a wonderful place to visit whether you want to walk or cycle around the Bay, alone or with company, or visit the wonderful beach for a walk or swim. In the Christmas holidays you'll find the fair ground rides available, with stalls, food outlets and fun. Concerts and talent shows abound at the sound she'll situated handily to all amenities and the wonderful rose garden. The wee train runs around the crazy golf course most of the year.
It's beautifully kept and well used by Timaru residents!

J.Great Walk, beautiful place, heaps of parking and bins around along with a big park for kids to run around. Perfect place for a bike ride or take the dog for a walk. Also had frisbee golf set ups around. A few informational signs around too.
C.It's an awesome place to visit, penguin watching at dusk, play ground for kids carnival between boxing day & about 14th January every year, safe beach to swim & floundering ( a net required ) roller skating beach volleyball courts visit & you wont be disappointed 👍
M.The kids absolutely love this playground in Timaru. It's a great place to burn some energy. Lots of fun playground equipment including steep slides. There is a paddle pool in the summer months good gor bigs and smalls to at least cool off. There is also a cool aviary to check out. Toilets easy to access from this area, but if you little ones make sure they go begore they are busting bc they are a walk. The kids highly recommend this playground & parent approved as well. Enjoy!

R.One of NZ's best "go to" beaches! Fine golden sand and very gradual shallows-great for children's swimming and of course for all ages.
D.One of "NZs Top 10 Beaches" just walking distance from the main street. During Christmas it's the ultimate time for a visit with the famous Caroline Bay Carnival in action.

R.Hmm. I have mixed feelings. It's a beautiful spot, but so under utilised. The buildings are inevitably closed, and nothing is happening. It feels tired, and needs new energy and vision
