S.I absolutely love the lake in tokoroa, it takes around half an hour to walk around it, has an awesome playground and exercise stations as well if you're a local. The walk is beautiful and birds to feed if your passing through the town

I.Super walkway around the lake. Beautiful trees & wide open spaces. Gym equipment scattered around the walkway. Outside of lockdown there is a superb playground for kids, and picnic tables & BBQ's available. My only criticism is there are no seats under the shade of the trees, facing the lake. As an older person, I like to stop for a rest on the heat of summer, but nowhere to do so out of the sun

It really is a nice park, plenty of room to kick the footy, plenty of wildlife on the lake with a walking track around, lots of exercise equipment about the place and a full size kids playground. It also has public toilets that seem to be well maintained.
Stop by in Tokoroa and relaxing here is recommended.

D.A spectacular surprise!
This lake is off the beaten track (SH1), but is worth the short detour. There are a number of places to park up and take the flat walk/run/bike around this gorgeous manmade lake. It has a beautiful collection of mature trees and an array of bird life to boot. Park benches are strategically placed all along the way, to sit and soak up the vistas. Picnic tables and good quality fitness equipment are also dotted around. There are a couple of public bbqs available. Bring a couple of 50cents for them. The playground is big, modern and popular with the locals. No wonder. It boasts the coolest pirate ship, just right for the toddlers! There are also opportunities to kick the ball around in this reserve for the older youth. It's also a picture perfect spot at the golden hour! If you're looking for a break in your travels or somewhere different to go for a picnic with the whole famz, seriously consider this hidden gem of a place. Best part? The locals are friendly when you need to find the best takeaways in town!
R.Great place to take the family, there are free to use bbqs, amazing playground for the kids,there's gym equipment dotted around the lake, and a nice easy walk around the lake on a fully concreted path.

T.A good park for the kids to play and to get some fitness done. A good track to run, plus exercise equipment along the way if thats your thing. The lake is there if you have a kayak etc. Plus plenty of spots to park up and have something to eat. I come down and boost around on my bike

N.Great idea and good focus on making the best use of the facilities - good kids area also. Would definitely make a stop off here again, even if it was just as a stop off along the way through Tokoroa. Perfect place to take and have a picnic!
N.Yay... Made it to the Lake Moananui...10 days to drain and kill weeds is now ten weeks +

S.Lake Moananui is a fabulous place for families with a round the little lake walk, several fantastic playgrounds, exercise equipment at various points around the lake, picnic areas, bbqs, and toilets.
R.Lake Moanui is gem of a place for visitors and locals alike..takes a slow hour to walk around the path made for cyclists and walkers..many beautiful shrubs and trees to admire .picnic areas with very good seating plus gas bbqs..the lake is only five minutes drive from Tokoroas public hospital and ten minutes to the main shopping area..
