Only couple of minutes walk from the car park. A very pleasant experience at this waterfall. Nice cold water to enjoy on a warm summer day.

Honestly such a beautiful spot, I didn’t plan on swimming but then I saw others doing so, so of course I joined in! Such a short walk which is great when you’re soaking wet, I was super shady also. Overall lovely place to visit!

Fantastic. 25 min flat walk from Waikino historic train station or 9km.by car from Waihi on SH2. Rustic (no changing rooms) but that's OK. Great spot for a refreshing dip. Be careful diving in. It's deep but watch out for shallow rocks. 3m plus deep in the middle. Good places to sit under the falls. To the reviewers wanting park benches for eating and seating, think natural beauty and you might appreciate the place for what it is - a waterfall with a pool.

Nice place to sit and cool your feet! Limited parking down the road, near the bridge. Walk up the road towards the Falls Retreat entrance. Note, the dirt path to the falls can be uneven. Some shade available.

Has a very small car park unless you park 50m or so down the road by the bridge Can see top of waterfall from roadside car park (signed area) is a very easy 30 second walk from car park to waterfall base were you can swim so don't forget a towel on a hot sunny day IG📷_leon_04

A great looking waterfall that’s even better after rain. Just a few steps away from the car park although it was tiny. The lookout is small so can be overcrowded if many tourists there. The water shall be great for swim

Amazing! Really, if you were designing an ideal swimming hole, this would be it. 2 mins from the road. Amazing waterfall, jumping off points (I wouldn't jump in a million years, but if you're into that....), It's just great. And it's free. We really are very lucky in this country. Only down side: Didymo has taken hold in the water, which is a real shame, but doesn't wreck the experience.

An excellent place to relax and unwind. Can be reached by a longer walk (about 90 minutes) from Karangahake Gorge car park or by a short 1-minute walk from Waitawheta Road, where it meets SH2. There are no benches, toilets or water taps - so please be prepared accordingly.

One of the best ways we have done in a long time. Kids loved it as it wasn't too long and then we drove 5 minutes up the road to a beautiful water fall for a lovely swim to cool off. Highly recommend.

Very nice water falls near Waihi. There is not any specific parking area in that place. But you park your car just beside road side for couple of minutes. For wheelchair user they need watch her beauty from the roadside. There is no friendly access for wheelchair or stroller user. Someone can park there car near to the main road walk little bit for watching her marvellous beauty.

Beauitiful place to just sit on the bank and take the scenery in. Lots of rocks to walk on too. Be a good spot for swimming too.

Epic waterfall is easily accessible (~ 5min walk). Great for a swim during the summer. The water is relatively deep in the middle, and there are some rocks near falls which you can stand on to experience the waterfall up close. The water is reasonably cold as it is freshwater.

Beautiful waterfalls that's not too deep away from the main road. You can either bike from the Karanghake mines up to here or just drive and park couple of minutes up the falls.

Water can be cold even on a hot summer day. But if you can brave it, it's an amazing swimming spot to cool off in especially if you've just finished walking around the Karangahake Gorge.

Lovely, best visited during off peak times when tourist numbers lower. Take your swimwear, and leave no waste behind. No toilets, changing rooms, marked carparking areas or cafe facilities at this location, so visit the neighbouring sites 1 minute drive away to refresh as needed. Track good for toddlers but unsuitable for prams or mobility users.

Beautiful waterfall, short easy walk from the road side parking. No facility. The road side parking is on the right, immediately after turning off from State Highway 2 and crossing the single lane bridge. Limited space, can only accommodate about 3 cars. Be careful of the on coming traffic when parking and making any turn.

Owharoa is one of the most beautiful and enjoyable waterfalls situated between waihi and pareoa. Its not only about the view but also about the breathtaking swim there. One of the advatange about the falls is its completely safe and anyone who knows swimming can take a dive from the top of the falls 😍

Literally 1 minute walk from the road to the falls. Fantastic spot just off the Karangahake gorge road. Nice for a picnic and/or a swim. Parking can be an issue in Summer.

I’d never seen a waterfall before so I had high hopes, and this one exceeded them. I went there on my first date yesterday and it really made it special 😌 It is cold in the water for swimming, and getting into the water is slightly tricky for us clumsy people (fell and got a major cut on my leg). Would highly recommend this spot to anyone wanting either a swim or to see the beautiful waterfall 💓

Short easy walk from the side of the road. Uneven gravel surface not really suitable for mobility devices. No public bathrooms. Bank down to the waters edge is slippery, care must e taken or it will be nasty fall. River rocks are slippery. Great scenic spot, lovely looking falls, usually has a number of people jockeying for photo positions.

Beautiful spot for a swim (if you're brave!) or to have a quiet picnic. We walked there from the Karangahake Gorge car park and it took about an hour and a half on an easy path and made a stop here before turning back. There is a cade at the top of the hill too but we didn't make it that far.

Stunning and romantic waterfall. Ideal place to take a lover. Looks like a bridal gown. Access is hardly 100 metres from the main Karangahake Gorge road. Over a bridge. Parking is limited to 3 or 4 cars. Must see.

Natural and lovely, from the road the path leads down to the water’s edge surprisingly the fall is near enough for the sound to be loud and close enough for pretty pictures. Not far positioned off State highway 2 parking along the road side is a squeeze.

Definatly a place to stop if you want a dip in a good old kiwi waterfall and river. Nice little place to swim and is quite deep as well. Only downside is the waters not entierly clear which is fine but it is alot fresher than most places you can stop at and swim. A place to go when going through the george for sure 👌👌

From driving past on main road, East bound a small sign points south to falls. The sign on the road at the falls is below the level of the pavement making impossible to see when cars are parked above the sign. easy walk to the falls. pool is deep and cold.

Beautiful falls. One of the best falls i have visited in New zealand. It would be hard if you don't know swimming. I would suggest not to go near the falls if you don't know swimming. Though you can have bath near the rocks where there is not much depth.

Worth a visit if you're in the area, but it's certainly not the best waterfall the region had to offer. Easily accessible from the road, park on the side of the road then head down the path.

The area is amazing if you are into walking or biking the trails around there are fantastic. The trails Follow the River where you can go for a swim if you're feeling too hot and it's just a beautiful area

About 1.5 hours drive from Auckland and just 5 mins from the main road. The water level is deep so not recommended for people who don't know how to swim. Not a place to do BBQ etc either. Instead you can park n do bbq near the karangahake gorge along State Highway 2.

If you are heading to see Waihi gold mine, this is one of the place to stop. Small water fall but beautiful surroundings. You can jump into this natural pool & take a rest. Better to take something to eat. No shops nearby.
