T.A lovely reserve tucked out of the way. Tracks are well maintained taking you to some fab views and picnic areas.
The donkeys are so sweet. I went on a Tuesday morning and found the volunteers in the middle of a grooming session, which I was allowed to join!
The volunteers are super friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic, so be sure to stop and chat if you meet them.

M.Cute and fun reserve to visit. There is no charge for entry although you can make a donation to the sanctuary. We saw 7 donkeys while there, all very tame and ok around children.
There is a nice walking track too that brings you down by the water.
Bring some carrots with you to feed the donkeys, they love them!

L.the donkey farm located in Algiers bay new Zealand. such a neat place for family friends and visitors. drive up the hill and see beautiful views all the islands then take a bush walk from the tip off the hill to either the donkey farm or Algiers bay beach
N.A lovely park for a walk. Don't forget to bring some carrots or apples for the donkeys. The kids will love it. Plenty of shade to sit and relax.
C.Lovely place to take the kids and go for a walk. Make sure you take some cut up carrots and apple quarters as a treat to feed the donkeys.

F.You can feed the donkeys or just go for a walk in the pristine park. Volunteers look after the park and do a great job. Bring an apple pie carrot for the spoiled donkeys. Beautiful views of bay.
B.Great place to take your family to. Kids will love it so does the big kids.. You can feed the donkeys we gave them cut up carrots. Beautiful walk through bush down to beach track steps a little step in bits of it. Good car park.

L.A quick walk and we were there with the donkeys. Remember to bring your own food (carrots, apples and silverbeet) to feed to the donkeys. Donkeys are well versed to what people mean - food!!! Gorgeous animals and it's free entry. The foal is as big as its mother, located in a separate paddock but you can still feed them through the fence (don't forget them). All gates must be shut behind you. Great place for the kids to burn some energy off especially if you've got a long drive. Easy access along the well maintained footpath.

J.The Donkeys are such characters, and each with their Own personality 😃 especially the Mum's when showing off their babies.
J.It's very peaceful. The donkeys are cute. A lovely medium difficulty bush walk leads to Algies Bay down the hill from the reserve. The first entrance next to the reserve takes you to the top of the hill with a180 degree vista of Kawau Bay.
A.Excellent Reserve in Algies Bay run by Ak Council Parks. About 8 approachable female donkeys that will take carrots or apples ONLY!
Safe for children, donkeys are fenced, or you can go in and mingle with them.
Petting ONLY, no rides etc. Take a walk up to the lookout at the top, views are 180degs, and there is a descriptive monument showing you where all the islands are and their names etc.
Take a picnic, take yr camera. Rubbish bins on site, no toilets available.
P.It is so beautiful here, the kids love it. The donkeys are safe and child friendly and its right next to a hilltop reserve with little bush walks and a cliff-top lookout over the bay amd Kauwau island. Just magic. Absolutely stunning.
