S.I cannot recommend The Pet Spa highly enough! For months had been searching for a groomer who could shave and tidy up the state our elderly Australian Terrier was in with her fur all knotted which made her hot, uncomfortable and unhappy. The problem was she is the most difficult dog to groom, requires sedation but that is not safe for her now that she is almost 12. Harry did a superb job of shaving and tidying her complete with the well overdue nail clip. He did this with complete care for our girl and for this I am forever grateful.
D.Harry from The Pet Spa did such a great job on our dogs. Having moved recently and not knowing who to go or trust, he did what we asked for and the price was reasonable too. His communication was great and was able to book our dogs in last minute which we appreciated. Would go again.
R.Our 6 year old border collie retriever cross, Munki, has always been very nervous at the groomers, but Harry took a moment to give her a gentle pat and she was very trusting and happy to be left. When she walked through.the door like "she'd just stepped out of a salon" with a bindi on her third eye she was very happy. I also love that the Dog Spa is open in the weekend. Brilliant! Highly recommended!
C.We had quite a shaggy 11 month old Smithfield Bearded Collie. This was her first groom so we were wondering how she would go.
Harry was awesome! Really friendly and calm with our dog. The results are great! Our pooch looks fresh and the cut is fantastic. He is really thorough and does an excellent job.

C.Incredible experience for both my wee rescues. The team take such great care with them and go at their pace resulting in a better outcome for the dogs. The vets were ready to almost sedate my wee anxious girl just to clip her claws but with time and care they got them done here. Thank you!!
A.Took my rescue German Shepherd to the Pet Spa for the first time today. I don’t think he’s ever been to a groomer so I was worried about how he would react as he can be a bit reactive. The team at the Pet Spa know what they’re doing because he was relaxed, happy and came home smelling delicious, feeling soft and having lots of his winter coat removed. Thanks so much team, we will be back and it was definitely worth the drive from Porirua. We appreciate getting in so quickly in time for summer too!

L.When lockdown cancelled our old guy’s groom for a second time, we reached out to Pet spa. I was a bit worried as our geriatric dog is a creature of habit and I didn’t feel great leaving him somewhere new (level 3). Harry was awesome, spent time understanding what type of cut we wanted and a few hours later we picked up a very happy and relaxed dog with an excellent haircut. Highly recommend.

C.I had my dog Poppy a 10 year old Border Terrier groomed for the second time with Harry at the Dog Spa today. Poppy is very happy to be there and Harry does a lovely job of grooming her. P.I want to recommend the new pet grooming shop in Island Bay called “The Pet Spa”. I took my gorgeous little Shnoodle Archie in for a full body groom the other day and out he came seeming very happy and looking beautiful and the dreaded nails clipped.
Harry is a lovely guy who really listens carefully to what the customer wants. His charges are very reasonable… $95 for my boy who is 8 kg.
A.Great service and a super groom for my special needs dog and two cats. All of them now look and feel 100% Will definitely come back again.
