I’ve joined a social basketball team that plays here every week, and the facilities seem great. The courts are massive, and from what little I’ve seen of the gym area, it seems pretty comprehensive. The only downside I’ve noticed is that it gets unbearably hot after a game or two, but that’s to be expected with so many people running around in a closed room

Absolutely love coming here to play social basketball. I really recommend their weekend leagues for casual friendly competition. My only complaint is that my friend slipped over and fractured his arm because they had left the windows open and there was a puddle on the floor that he didn’t see. Oh well. Friendly and helpful staff and the flexible timetable is really nice.

Even though I'll never go to victoria university ever in my life. This rec centre is so good. Every thing is so lit about it. The people the admins the basketball players playing and other sports that happen there. I'm definitely going to bring my friends here one day cause this place ASB and other rec centers are the best ever. Definitely recommend coming to the Victoria kelburn recreation centre for basketball or any sport you want catered since they care for our needs

I've been going to this gym for three years. While being small, and subsequently a bit crowded at times, they have a good number and variety or machines and weights. Plus they have excellent student rates at the start of the year. This is a good gym, and they also have a dance studio with regular classes, a stretching room, and a long room with rock walls

I play badminton here. The club pretty sweet, you get to play a game of doubles every 10 mins or so in a 2 or 3 hour session. The main gym's floor are wooden so they're a bit slippery if you don't have the right shoes on. Other than that, great place to do casual play and exercise.

It's an affordable gym with various ranges of equipment, a multipurpose basketball court, table tennis, dance/group gym room. Also the staff are very friendly and chill. It has many group activites to support different skill and ability levels. Additionally, it's in a convenient place. There issues I have though. Firstly, there is no parking dedicated for the gym although this is more the university's fault rather than theirs. There is basically only one of each equipment (excluding cardio equipment) so you have to wait to use equipment at peak times. The place feels very unpolished, and unmaintained, I don't think it has ever been mopped, machines queak, like all someone needs to do is put some CRC on it, but no one does it. I don't expect the gym to compete with commercial gyms, but I just expect it to improve in areas where it can, like cleanliness or service. It's the little things that count.

Great recreation center with cheap membership and some good equipment that covers the basics for a weights/cardio workout. A boxing bag and a timesheet of available free time to non-club members in the long room would be fantastic!

Uni gym located at Vic. Carpark outside the gym. Members only. Classes, weight, and machines. Also has a indoor court for badminton, basketball, indoor soccer, and volleyball. Friendly staff onsite, ice pack for injury, can borrow gears.

Good for students who actually live close to the university. Problems being that they like to close quite a bit during the holidays. But for the casual visitor, this place is pretty good.
