An amazing space to host our regular Artisan Craft Market once a month, the staff are fantastic to work with and super supportive, especially in these challenging times.

Manaaki Management, the functions team at Wharewaka, is fantastic to deal with. We had to chop and change event arrangements as COVID restrictions changed. They were so helpful and supportive. The event went off without a hitch. The staff are all amazing.

Attended a seminar. The food (Buffet) was delicious, & the dessert - Petite Fours, were incredible!. The function room itself was setup caberet style, looked welcoming & professional; great sound quality too. Could'nt fault my experience.

Great facility with excellent views & located on our vibrant waterfront. The Admin staff provide prompt clear communication and are very easy to deal with. Staff at the event were helpful and friendly. Venue is clean, spacious, & has modern décor. Cafe/Bar onsite. What more do you need? Thanks Guys!

The Wellington Functions Team catered a dinner for us recently in Wellington. The presentation of the food was amazing and the kai delicious. The staff were very helpful and considerate and I have no hesitation in recommending their services.

I went there to perform a film shoot. Photographing the attendees of the conference, and later in the evening, dinner at the conference centre. The food was nice as was the rooms. One of which could be opened out to the pier and the harbour. The staff there, though I didn't have much contact with, were very professional in their conduct.

Function centre is a great location, facilities and staff were well managed and very helpful. Organisation and engagement in planning our event was very flexible, clear and responsive....and the food....impeccable! We will be back.

Highly recommend the Wharewaka for a function - the communication was fantastic from the function co-ordinator, the team onsite on the day had great service and were available during the entire function. The food was delicious and they organised everything, including the AV Equipment. Our clients had a fantastic time and we will use the function centre again! Thanks team!!

Q side I can recommend, didn't stay at the C side, so no comment. Good, clean, friendly and close to everything. (Cleaning the breakfast tables could have been a little quicker, but not a biggie.) Highly recommended.

We had our wedding here, and it was the perfect place to have it! It was a stunning day and before we went into the Function center we took wedding photos all along the wharf and by the boat sheds. Even took some cheesy Titanic-like photos on the big crane boat nearby. Then we had the ring ceremony in one of the large rooms upstairs, and then took photos with friends and family in the rooms beside it. Then proceeded downstairs for the Reception and Food. The Food was amazing! (Especially those medallion steaks!) The Staff were helpful and friendly, and the Location is the best in Wellington! Wouldn't change anything about that day, it went perfectly.

The New Zealand Deerstalkers Association held their Annual Conference at this venue and hosted more than a hundred members. Over the three days, the staff showed exceptional attention to all delegates. The food served was a spread of Maori Fusion which delighted most of our pallets.

Lovely location, big breakfast lived up to its name, with the black pudding been most enjoyable. Coffee was OK but a perhaps a little cool on arrival. Service was friendly and attentive.

I went to Karaka cafe with some work colleagues on a brilliantly sunny Wellington day. As most people know there aren't that many options for sunny cafes so we were lucky to get a seat. Given its location I would assume this place would get a lot of tourists which really concerns me given the service we got from the wait staff. We had 3 people serving us which seemed kind of bizarre in itself and none of them seemed to talk to each other. One staff member had a real attitude problem and instead of asking whether we 'were ready to order' we were asked 'what do you want to eat'. Not exactly the most polite person I have ever been served by. Our order included some of the salads from the front cabinet, we were told we might be lucky as a big table had just ordered a lot of the cabinet food. But she would 'let us know'. There was no 'letting us know' instead we received our salads after a short wait which was impressive given the number of people dining there. One of the salads was a beetroot, spinach, pinenut and feta salad however when it arrived it appeared someone had stolen all the feta as it looked as though one crumb of feta had been skidded over the top of a piece of beetroot! We thought best to speak up and once we managed to find a waitress (one without the attitude) we were rewarded with a bounty of feta in a wee bowl on the side which was nice. All in all it was a bit of a disappointing experience, and I would be particularly concerned if this is the image Wellington is sending to our tourists.

Great coffee with the variety of sweets to choose from. Also has seats outside where you can look out to the lagoon. Beautiful location at the waterfront and worth to try their menu.

What a great spot bean bags by the water reasonably priced drinks and great looking food. In Wellington for four days for WOW went there three times. Take a hat.

Was in a small room upstairs, as the building is a "green building" there is no air conditioning - and it was uncomfortably warm. Food served for the function was all finger foods and mostly fried which left everyone feeling heavy and tired for the afternoon and evening sessions.
