A.Always a vibe here! Staff very friendly when we come, they greet us and make sure were okay with out tickets and movie room. Favorite things to buy would be the Big Max Waffle with choc ice cream, nuts, cream and choc sauce yum yum!
S.Watched Dr. Strange Multiverse yesterday in Cinema 1 and it was good. So the last movie I watched in Whakamax was Avengers Infinity War, 2018. I think they put us in a smaller cinema and I wasn’t happy. After that I just travelled to Tauranga. But after watching in Cinema 1, I think it’s not too bad. If you are going to watch in Whakamax then try Cinema 1. Special thanks to the staff for there amazing service!!

P.You can finally eat hot foods like wedges in the movie theatre-no more scrambling for a meal after 2 hr-odd film! Love waffle ice creams & popcorn. Wish the toilet basins had hot water & longer drying cycle on hand dryer.

M.The complex has about 5 cinemas with comfortable seats. The spaces including the toilets were clean and well maintained.
In the entrance there is also a waffle shop offering some delicious waffles, 3 sizes, with ice cream and cream and sauces. Delicious.

D.Good choice of current films and very helpful staff. Try the vanilla cornets as they were the best we have had in a while. Small theatres and comfortable seats. No bar inside, but several close by if you want a drink beforehand. Easy parking and makes for a very pleasant evening out

K.My first time here and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Excellent and patient staff. They were very pleasant with lovely smiles and very helpful. The cinema was smaller than what I am used to but the seats were comfortable and there was heaps of foot space. I would return given the opportunity.
A.Awesome cinema, clean and friendly staff
P.We went prepared for a cold theatre, only to find that the temperature was quite warm. The movie itself was a translation from perhaps Spanish and although the graphics were very very good, the children that were watching the movie got quite bored quite quickly. Looking at the opening poster it looked like a typical "Disney" type movie but an extra fact it was produced by someone else. Still it's a great movie very good Morel behind it. the movie itself was about blended families and tolerance and compromise. Very enjoyable.

How about we look at some couch type chairs in cinema 1, could attract more audience 🤔i know I'd go most Fridays to relax 😁 what about a rewards/ perks card. Each time we visit gets us closer to earning an add on for our night out for example, a free movie, an extra drink? And half price shared curley fries 🍟 thanks again!!! Keep up the good work

R.Recently Moved to Whakatane and my love of movies needed to be filled. I prefer this place than any theatre in Hamilton (where I moved from) and had a great experience. I went to see captain Marvel to be shocked at good the prices are! No more sneaking food in. It's a small comfy theatre and makes you feel right at home. If you reading this to see how good this place is, stop reading and just go.

T.Awesome Inviting space, Great Friendly staff who are helpfull and upbeat. Been quite a few times with friends and family and have always had a great time, be wise to get your tickets early if you can as it can get quite packed and you could expect to be waiting in line for a bit while people order there snacks etc. Sometimes throughout the year they have Kids weekends where tickets are only $5 for tickets to kids movies which is so cool, Great value popcorn packs, nice range of food & drinks avaliable. Clean toilets & lots of seating avaliable in the cinemas. A great place to go to watch movies, go for Brunch or grab a icecream :)

S.Friendly staff, great atmosphere, they have a good range of food and snacks, and they didn't mind about the we'd like half lift and half raspberry drink, their popcorn is fresh and overall if you go when kids at school you can have a whole row to yourself 😆

H.No gold lounge or lounge seats. One large theatre, two mediums and the rest are small. Large sits 80-100, medium 45-60 and small 35-50. Back row of large reclines slightly. Food and beverage options are overpriced like all theatres and slightly better range than average as can order hot drinks that get delivered to your seat, wine options, hot food (toasties etc), ice cream range and usual popcorn, candy etc. Not bad for a small town but Hawera cinemas in Taranaki have lounge seating which left me no choice but to rate 3 stars. Sorry Whakamax, you have a decent community focus too though, ladies night via social media etc. Just install lounge seats and 4 stars ezpz.

P.Our town has a great little movie theater in Whakamax. All the new releases as soon as they become available and we have great staff as well. It is also great you can have a beer or wine with your movie and even a barista coffee. Good on ya Whakamax
E.Lovely small town cinema. Good selection of films. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Sound systems could be improved, but for its size it’s a good set-up. Also, does great coffee and serves until 8pm, making it one of the few options for late-evening non-alcoholic drinks.
