Reviews of Cowley's Hire Centres
S.Excellent service and well maintained equipment that I hired. The customer service I received at the end of an extremely hot day went well beyond my expectations. Thank you for the cold drink it was really appreciated.
B.Maybe more of a 3.5 score. Hired a furniture truck which served its purpose but was pretty tired. Drove like a rodeo horse. (Front suspension and drivers sprung seat had seen better days for sure). Wing mirrors were loose and moved regularly. No windscreen wiper water, blade rubbers needed replacement. No USB port or holder in cab for phone. Radio speakers past their use by. No Aircon..........!
Booking system quite loose with minimal electronics involved so open to error. On the day, this resulted in me being allocated a van instead of the truck asked for. No clear record made of my order due to reliance on archaic manual log book system (caused a delay of pickup). Counter and office scruffy. (Do cleaners regularly work in the place?). On handover, No quick overview of gear change methodology or tailgate release. Handy to find small handcart was included. Rear storage had not been swept. Overall yard and offices scruffy. Same for service counter staff (their clothing, speech and customer interface skills).
Summary, a long- established hire provider of a wide range of plant in various stages of life expectancy. Is a yard and office makeover perhaps due? Staff helpful but rough around the edges. Hire fees perhaps not reflective of tired plant, staff & building appearance, outdated systems and associated services.
G.I ordered a 5 ton furniture......when my driver went in to get truck he was given a r ton and I had to arrange another van to bring the rest of my furniture. I was only charged for a 4 ton but that wasn't what I wanted
S.I work with Cowleys hire regularly. Most recently I have hired several diggers over the past few months to get site works done. The boys have been very responsive to getting them on site, picking them up and just great coms in general.
P.I luv going there. Most helpful in every aspect.
L.Great rates and stock of equipment and machinery. Easy pickup and drop off arrangement. Why spend all week on a shovel and wheel barrow when you can hire a machine and get it done in a day. Great business to have in our community.
S.Always have the gear you need, however the gear is usually old and flogged out.
L.I hired a furniture truck last weekend. I did book ahead of time as I was told furniture trucks get booked often. Great experience. They team were friendly and helpful. Explained equipment clearly. Truck was clean and easy to drive. Happy to recommend based from my experience and will be a return customer.
