Reviews of Laurie Hall Park
G.
Within close proximity to the city centre is this beautiful park. The gardens are well managed and colorful, tables for picnics and shade from well established trees. Definitely somewhere worth going for a quiet work day lunchbreak or to kōrero with a friend etc.
M.
Amazing colours of the season. Good flowers plantation we saw in February 2022.
K.
Good park in the centre city.
Nice playground and beautiful garden.
c.
Sad to see the waterfall in the state it's in. Used to be so pretty
H.
The most amazing setting for the Anzac dawn ceremony. The natural amphitheatre supported by lighting of the large pohutukawa tree was pure magic.
L.
ANZAC day 2021dawn ceremony at the cenotaph. With the carpark and the surrounding gardens, there was plenty of space to accommodate the large crowd.

Laurie Hall Park is a great asset in central Whangarei (CBD) - whether for a quiet walk or to visit one of the attractions.
The beautifully landscaped and simple plush site is worth a visit. A fully shaded children's playground is a small simple combination of nice challenges - is well placed at the SW corner of the site. The man made waterfall (donated by Winstone-Northland) is a unique feature - even without running water.
The Whangarei and Districts War Memorial is an awesome central feature. Gardens , seating and clear grass areas allow plenty of opportunities for a picnic or to quietly reflect and relax.
R.
Good place to park although I was there to peruse the wreaths at the cenetaph after the Dawn Service. Lovely area for the service to be held.
A.

B.
Nice area to relax on the grass with a snack. Lots of lovely gardens to look at
