M.have only dealt with the online ordering, as i live in Auckland. The team have packaged up my orders and shipped them promptly, even through the Covid lockdowns. So much so that i can get an order shipped and delivered from Acorn Models quicker than i can get an order delivered from Auckland!
A.Went into Acorn today with an issue that wasn't really one covered by warranty. Dealt with friendly staff who referred me to the boss. Was impressed with his understanding and willingness to find a favorable outcome. Will definitely be shopping there again as I got the impression they are not only very knowledgeable, but also genuinely want the best for their customers.
M.If you are into model trains this is the place for you. They have a small selection of other models which are good quality but it is about 50% trains.
L.Very efficient service. Good people to deal with. Postal orders are fast and always correct.

A.I have been going to Acorn for over 20 years now!! Always found them to be friendly and helpful. I believe in todays online world it is important to support your local hooby shops, especially for those things you need in a hurry!! Range is good, staff knowledgable. Prices arent always the cheapest but they are reasonable and product available immediately. Recomended

K.Biggest model shop I have ever seen. Gary and his staff were very friendly and really helpful with the customers in the shop. Looked like a very large range of radio controlled cars, heaps of paint supplies and lots of bits and pieces for building the model railway.

C.I know almost nothing about Remote Control Cars. I have bought a car on recommendation from the team at Acorn and my children and I love using it. Their recommendation has been brilliant and fun. On several instances we have damaged the car, and without fail Acorn have helped us get up and going again. So much fun with my kids, such a friendly environment and company.
It is rare and exciting to visit a business that is full of people who love what they do, and enjoy sharing their knowledge so others can enjoy as well. Thanks Acorn... keep up the good work!

Good range of products. You can get pretty much anything you need for plastic kitsets. Also stock scale railroad supplies , radio controlled planes cars and boats and a little bit of everything else. Not overly cheap though.

S.Can't visit the shop at the moment due to the lockdown, ordered a bunch of things from them and the stuff arrived at my door less than 24 hours later. Very impressed!

S.By far the best shop for radio control models in Chch. We were looking at Radio controlled cars and they have a good selection of the Tamiya brand at good prices - I compared with what's available online and their prices are competitive. They also stock engine powered r/c's and heaps of spares. The folks at Acorn models are very helpful and I highly recommend visiting this shop.

J.If planes and trains are your thing then these guys will cater to your interests. However if quads/drones are what you seek then you're out of luck.
D.Good range of models from planes and tanks to ships and figures. Lots of train stuff. Especially the little scenery models like trees and buildings. They also have a good range of Vallejo and Tamiya paints. Modeling tools and balsa wood. No Warhammer stuff. No ammo of mig paints either. Easy parking right in front of the shop.
