Really nice for family play a couple of hours, bike track for all ages, great experience, some track parts no cover if you ride on really hot day that will feel too hot, but you still can find place to hide.

Great park with lots of walking and mountain bike trails. Bike trails are mostly one way and separated from walkers so there is no danger of running into anyone. Worth checking out, be prepared to spend a couple of hours at least. Bring a picnic to have on the picnic benches and bring your travel cup to pick up a coffee at the kiosk afterwards.

McLeans is such a brilliant place to walk, run, or bike! Very dog friendly and never too crowded, it has access to the river - perfect to cool off overheated puppers 😁 so many beautifully maintained tracks that you can go as far as you like!!!

Great place for starting out your trail riding adventure. Lotsa parking and they've upgraded with new BBQ pits! Pretty easy trails for biking and walking. One of my kids went through it easily on a BMX and myself on a commuter bike so no problems! Could do with a few more bins for rubbish, compost and recyclables.

One of my favorite place to visit. Christchurch is lucky to have a facility like this so close to the city. There is a detailed map at the car park which helps you plan your ride. Great bike track. Highly recommended!!

Best place for biking and tracking in Christchurch. Biking track is unique and nice. Forest is too cool and river side have also nice eye-catching points. Overall place is very good. Nice to go on walk with your pet and friends

Great for a quick bike ride or walk. The Coringa Loop is great for younger kids on their bikes and the tresillian loop is good cardio on your bike. Both mtb tracks aren’t technically challenging but are good for a workout

This is hands down the best place to start your kids out mountain biking in the whole of Christchurch. Bikes of all sizes available to hire or bring your own. The green rated trails are actually easy and undulating. The tracks are well designed and maintained, with lots of bermed corners. My six year old loves the 10km loop, followed by a mandatory icecream stop at the end !

Great place to go for a mountain bike ride. There are several tracks, including one small loop that is approx. 2km, and a much larger loop that goes for approx. 17km. The terrain is quite easy, and is definitely recommended for beginners who would love a bike through the forest either on your own, or with family. Kids would certainly have no problems with this terrain. It's well maintained, and quite a popular spot for both bikers, and walkers.

Absolutely awesome public resource. The bike trails are well built, everything is maintained to a high standard, and the trail can be enjoyed by all skill levels. Really family friendly and easy going across the whole area, with some slightly technical options and small jumps for spicing things up a bit. Also has a cafe, bike rental space, and some seriously nice spots to stop and take a break. Great space to spend the day

A great place that offers you a lot of activities to do. Great tracks for biking, very well maintained and awesome for kids. Have had a lot of fun there. Also great for equestrian activities, the area is really big and has an awesome cross country course. You can head out there and train on your own if you want.

Great bike track if you want a quick hoon through the forest without putting life and limb at risk. Lots of places to stop, nice even tracks, various loops and side tracks to make the circuit longer or shorter. Cafe sells basic snacks, ice blocks and coffee. There is bike hire too. Unfortunately no longer anywhere to wash your bike after the ride.

Nice track for the family. Spoke to a fellow bike rider and he told me his three year old does the five kilometres track. I think it would be challenging for a three year old but certainly a ten year old would quite comfortable complete the five kilometres loop. Track is well maintained and we'll signposted, it was my first time there and I found it quite easy to navigate. With regards to fitness you can do both loops which are about eighteen kilometres in total I think and obviously as slow or fast as you would like. I can see this becoming a regular visit for me. It was not necessary for me to use the bathroom but I'm sure there are on the site.

Great biking trails here with plenty of signage, along with a small store for all your ice cream and snack needs. Public toilets by the store as well, plus adult and child bike hire.

A really cool place cared for by the council. They have heaps of great biking tracks that are great for beginners and skilled riders a like. There is a detailed map at the car park which helps you plan your ride. It is a bit exposed to the wind at times, but the growing pine trees should stop that eventually. There's also a great running/walking track for all fitness levels.

Love it, it's my "home track". Great for blowing out the cobwebs after a hard day at work! Not technically challenging but a great undulating ride amongst the various stages of forest growth. Track is firm and fast without soft sandy sections. Highly recommended!

10/10. Such a nice walk. off lead dog friendly track with monsoon holes for them to swim in. bird song was beautiful. 11k all up with a shortcut to carpark bout halfway through. some parts were under trees through forest and other parts out in the open. nice to get away from the ratrace.

Great mountain biking facility that is handy to Christchurch. Offering around 16km of generally flat single track it is both a high speed flowy fitness ride or a leisurely family ride. The ride offers plenty of places for younger rider to cut back to the start. A well stocked coffee shop that also offers bike hire is found at the car park.

We love Macleans forest. Since discovering Macleans forest, we have been there at least once every 2 weeks. It's a great place to bike. There are maps along the trail that you can refer to if needed, which was of the utmost importance to us. Kid friendly. It's not as technical as Bottle lake but it's a good location to bike for families

Mountain bike trails though pine forest. Mainly clay and dirt so you can do them on an ordinary bike. Flat with the occasional hump. Great for small kids. You can easily shorten your route at any time. Flash MTB bike hire, less than $30 for a couple of hours. Small cafe but has ice creams and coffee. Also walking tracks mostly seperate from the bike tracks. Plenty of car parking.

Good place for a family bike ride, trails are definitely beginner level (fine on a hybrid or CX bike). Very flat (dont listen to anyone who says they are MTB trails). Will be more than 3 stars when the trees grow back. Remember it's a source of cheap timber for export first and foremost and a facility for locals 2nd.

Love the McLeans Island Forest Park wing a keen mt biking. The mountain bike track is mainly flat single track which is an easy/beginner level ideal for taking the kids out for a ride. It has two loops in a figure of eight. Just doing the first loop is 10 km or do both takes it to 15 km. You can also take a short link track that you back round the first track again avoiding going right back to the start. You can also hire bike there from On Ya Bike who also run a small shop that sells barista coffee, sold drinks and ice creams

Awesome place for a Sunday afternoon walk with the dog, while the Boyfriend is out riding.. One suggestion though.... Tell our fellow dog walkers to pick up their Nr. Two’s and dispose it appropriately. Even if that means you guys have to provide more bins. That’d be really really appreciated!!

There is really only the one mountain bike track here 10km long with a 5km extension called the Coringa Loop. The Coringa Loop is quite fun and is more flowy than the main loop. Good track for some exercise.
