Reviews of Greytown Campground
L.
Very pleasant quiet campground, surrounded by beautiful mature trees. Laid-back, friendly atmosphere. Basic, but very adequate facilities. Very clean. Tennis court and fabulous playground for the children. Close to town.
C.
We were there a bit after Christmas. Location is great which is why we went there. Nice grounds but they really squish people together. Facilities were dated and fairly clean. What stuck me the most is that we have stayed in much nicer places for the same or less.
A.
We stopped in here on our way through to check out the playground. Its a wicked playground with something for kids of all ages, multiple climbing frames, swings, flying foxes, slides etc.
We checked out the campground too, its sheltered by a canopy of trees giving you a since of separation from town, but in reality all the conveniences of Greytown are a 10 minute walk away. There's a tennis court, swimming pool and facilities on site.
Will probably look to use this more in the future!
D.
We have stayed a couple of times now. Great place to strike camp, swimming pool next door and and easy walk in to town. Good facilities and clean.
B.
While the facilities are of an older age they are very clean and tidy. The hosts are very friendly and the camp is adjacent to the town swimming pool and within easy walking distance from the town centre. Recomended
A.
Brilliant family holiday camp. Free pool next door. Ken is a legend. Great price too. $54 a night for a family of 5. Awesome
D.
Couldn't get accomodation in town so stayed here.
We had a wonderful time with Main Street only a short stroll away.
Swimming pool is next door and night market close.
A real jewel!
R.
Great little spot you'd never know about without staying and exploring Greytown. Everything you need on-site, as well as tennis court, play ground and the public outdoor pool just next door.

Lovely campsite, good facilities and friendly owners. Nice to have the pool next door too. Will go back.

A basic campground with everything you need. The area is tidy and well maintained. A short walk to town for added convenience and Ken who runs the grounds is absolutely lovely

It is great to come here in the summer time. All the kids are very happy to enjoy here. Greytown also have a free swimming pool for everyone.
It has a kitchen and bathroom for camping.
I love Greytown. My family too.

Beautiful campground with great facilities and super friendly hosts. Plenty of space, close to town, lots of nature, family friendly. Tennis courts and free swimming pool next door in summer.
What more could you ask for!?
K.
Excellent place, very nice under the native trees , all the facilties are there.... and as member of the NZMCA. $22.00 off season... for 2 people with power is really good, compared with several other over priced places in NZ
C.
Great campground, only intended to stay a few weeks while working nearby and instead stayed 4 months over lockdown and beyond. Great facilities and the owner was the best, couldn’t do enough to help. Thanks Ken!
S.
Very friendly hosts - campground is nestled amongst established trees, right beside a native bush walk and so handy to town. Old amenities but clean and all we needed.
K.
Great spot for all types of camping, has showers, toilets and shared kitchen with fridge, freezer and oven. Playground and public pool next door. Easy walk to shops.

We stayed in the glamping tent and had a great time.
Plunger coffee, tea etc provided.
Frypan, utensils and a pot provided as well as cutlery, plates and even wine glasses a small table and chairs.
Everything had been thought of including extra blankets.
A picnic table right outside the door with a sunshade.
The site itself is beautiful with mature trees all around and a swimming pool right next door and easy walk into town.
Highly recommended.
L.
Peaceful picturesque camp ground nestled in the middle of a park. Amenities are a bit dated but it adds to the charm. Short walk into the lovely Greytown.
D.

Great camp, really family friendly surrounded by mature trees. Short walk to the shops plus Bush walks on site.
Swimming pool next door and ample playgrounds for the kids. And not forgetting the friendly and very helpful managers we will be back.
f.
Friendly place, amicable owners. Well equipped clean kitchen. Owners please provide a community area to sit and read or write with power points to charge devices. Good value for money. I recommend this spot.
A.
Enjoyed our stay at Greytown - the kitchen and toilet block is well looked after clean and fresh. It's the old clubhouse of the tennis club that was in the park, apparently, and is a great place to sit in the morning sun. There is a nice kids playground here, and apparently the place gets very busy in the summer. Had a good yarn with Colin, who looks after the place and is onsite.
A.
Great place to camp. Older facilities, but lots of trees and shade. Excellent children's playground. Next door to public swimming pool. 5 mins walk to coffee and meals in town centre - via a short bush walk if you wish. Good local supermarket.
D.
Great campground. Good facilities. Kitchen with most cooking needs. We were even able to bake muffins & cook a Sri lankan meal. Great playground on site for kids plus a swimming pool next door with lifeguards. A couple of mins walk from main Street of Good.
G.
Cutest campsite. Well thought out and positioned sites that were well marked out. Park for kids was great and the free municipal pool next door was a winner for the kids. Owners very helpful.
D.

Just dropped in to charge my EV, but this is a good looking campsite! Far enough from SH2 to be quiet, close enough to town to walk to the many cafes and shops. Will come back and stop for a couple of nights soon!
D.
Nice quiet campsite. Lots of trees so provides lots of shade. Has a kids playground next door which popular with the kids.
Provides two communal buildings with kitchen, and toilets/showers. The main building also has the reception and a laundry.
G.
Lovely small park with a cricket ground and pavilion, swimming pool, camping ground, croquet green and a regenerating Bush area. The park has lovely rows of lime and plain trees to commemorate fallen soldiers. No tea room unfortunately but the park is well worth a visit.
