Plenty of places to park. Toilets and picnic tables. Maps of mountain bike tracks and walking tracks with various routes to follow. Beware the red route has some missing signs and easy to take the wrong path when at the peak coming down and you can trespass on to farm land.

I did a walk for 1 hour (2,7 km, no pressure) towards the woods and it was amazing. It was rainy, but I didn't get that wet because of the trees. You can park your car at a parking space, you also got toilets and an opportunity to clean your boots

Nice entrance of a fantastic New Zealand 🇳🇿 park reserve leading to new carpark, seating & viewing area, with new toilets 🚻 & picnic tables, brilliant 👍

Officially opened in July 2018 a fantastic spot to stop for the views and amenities. Perfect place on a sunny clear day, pack a lunch and enjoy the many walks.

Awesome walks around Te Mata peak. Would recommend the redwood walk, peaceful Grove for a picnic or even meditation if that's what you are into!

Great views, good starting point for walks or bike rides.

Gorgeous 🌳🌲🌱 beautiful scene track to go on to straight from the car park. You can go up the towards the peak or down toward Wahi Tapu. Seeing all the areas where lots of rongoa has been planted. Public toilet near, you can also hose down your bike and scrub your wheels 🌳🌲🌱

Lovely time of day when we went. Nice place.

Beautiful spot at the base of the hill, plenty of green spaces the kids loved running round and exploring. Great area to get some fresh air and beautiful scenery before heading up to the top of the peak. Loads of shaded parking available and the red wood forest is unique and the kids found it really interesting. Even though the view gets a lot better as you go higher, the view from here is still great

Great park. Tons of trails for either walking or mountain biking. Great views. You can take your dog with you. The redwoods are nice, as is the peak. This parking lot has a nice new toilet and water fountain (for both people and dogs). There is an area to wash the mud off your bikes/shoes too.
