Absolutely outstanding Holiday Park, the cleanest we have ever seen. The park is very well sheltered from the wind, which gives you a great holidaying experience in any weather. The Hihi Beach is a combination of rocks and some sand, so just ask the hosts for the best spot for swimming. The location of the Park is superb - you can easily explore the whole area (including Karikari Peninsula) from there. The hosts and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely come back to spend more time in this park. Oh, by the way, they have spectacular sunsets over there.

Great Park with a chill vibe. It's a lovely spot full of mature trees and vegetation. Great fishing. The place is well looked after, our wee cabin and all facilities were always immaculate and clean and having all the basics. The hosts and staff were super friendly and helpful. Loved the option to hire the kayaks. We had so much fun. The little store at the main office has all the basics and it was great not having to drive out for milk. We will be back! On a side note, we would've liked to have a tiny table and chairs by the cabin, perhaps you're looking into it or not but I thought it'd be a great addition. Thanks for everything and we will see you next year for sure! By the way, the fact that they asked for vaccine passes made us much more at ease when using the facilties and interacting with people. It was nice feeling normal for once. Happy New year!

If I could rate this place 10 stars I would. Extremely friendly and helpful owners. Place is super tidy and clean. So handy being right next to the beach as well and the sunsets are amazing. Definitely gonna be staying here in the future and recommending to friends - Jade

By far one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at on our journey through Northland, infact one of the best in NZ. Stunning waterfront location, beautiful little safe beach, nice solid boat ramp and really friendly staff. We will definitely be back next summer. 🌊🌅😍

This is a truely lovely Campground. The facilities are the best I’ve experienced anywhere. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Don’t miss it if you are heading that way or indeed make it your destination. I can’t recommend it enough. An added bonus is the discount for NZMCA Members.

We stayed there recently. Beautiful camp with facilities immaculate everything you need. Dog friendly and hosts were friendly and helpful. It is a lovely spot to stay we will go back.

My favourite campsite on our long weekend adventure! This place has a nice feeling to it; the two gentlemen and lady at reception were exceptional! Really enjoy the privacy of the site, sort of speak and how peaceful is around. The beach is just crossing the road; they are pet-friendly, and the facilities were beyond excellent. They have a little store in the reception area to get coffee or whatever you need for meals. I just loved it! I am coming back soon!

This wee camp ground is at the end of the road surrounded in trees.what a find!!!!.it certainly is the cleanest/ nicest spot. A real credit to the owners. Very quiet and right by sea. Nice beach walk or dead end road bush walk to the right which is pretty ..( just above the coast. )Weather was rather wild so had to time walks..between downpours. Facilities are top.!!!!....we were in campervan but the chalets look gorgeous. Thoroughly recommend.. Thank you for our lovely stay overnight.

Cute little beach and campground. Clean with some fresh flowers in the bathroom even. Very tight spaces for larger vehicles but we managed. Extremely frosty reception, maybe I interupted her morning tea or something but you couldn't get much unfriendlier and unwelcoming than her. Maybe it was a really good cuppa. Otherwise nice place, close to lots of other nice places too.

Well this place is amazing - spotlessly clean, friendly hosts who were very attentive, right on the beachfront, and a coffee van first thing in the morning!!! The kitchens are absolutely topnotch, with plenty of induction cooktops and sinks, utensils and crockery and did I mention it is scrupulously clean? It was so popular though that it got very crowded and there is minimal privacy. But with friendly neighbours and no mosquitoes I could handle that!

Staff seemed friendly, but this was probably the most expensive campsite we stayed at during our 3 week NI holiday, as they charged extra for infants (no-one else did). The facilities were clean but nothing special. The kitchen was extremely loud with no noise absorption, and had no airflow / extractors.

We loved it, absolutely beautiful park, well looked after and very clean. We found tho that maybe it wasn't such a kid friendly park. Our kids were told off a few times. Other than that, we had a fantastic stay

What a superb spot. One of the cleanest and cutest camping grounds we've been to. Wicked spot.! A great place to launch a day trip to Cape Reinga and a day exploring Kari Kari peninsula. A hop, skip and a jump from historical Mangonui. Jeff and Christine are great hosts. This place is well appointed and absolutely spotless.

The holiday park is in a beautiful location, right on the beach. We met Jeff on arrival who went out of his way to let us fit our two campers on the last remaining site for the evening. The facilities were spotless and very well maintained. Absolutely superb. Thanks Christine and Jeff!

A great holiday park to stay in with the kids, amenities were sparkling clean and owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. The new kitchen block is big enough for multiple families/groups to cook at the same time and still got rooms for others!

Beautiful park like grounds, lots of rosellas and tui and wood pigeon. Right by a lovely beach. Facilities are clean, good kitchen and outdoor bbq area. Not many facilities if the camp was full however. Overall, we love it :)

We only stayed one night here, and it was such a nice camp site with lots of lovely trees for shade. They had everything you needed in site, and their prices were rally good. The owners are lovely and went very helpful.

Absolutely amazing. First time in Northland and such an awesome clean and classy campground for out first night. Friendly owners Highly recommend stopping here.

Very nice area. Easy check in too. The recreation room was closed off when we were there, so there wasn't much to do for us in the evening. There are also no convenient areas to charge your equipment as non-powered campers. We had to give our phones to reception to charge. The people were nice however, and the facilities clean.

Beautifully kept grounds and scrupulously clean motel. Well equipped kitchen (but could do with a microwave). Very friendly hosts. Just an all round lovely place to stay by a very pretty bay.

We rang on the day and the office staff on the phone were flexible with our needs and friendly. For the prices offered, the site delivers above and beyond. We loved how they went the extra mile with communal cutlery and that all the facilities were cleaned daily. Really close to the water & road, very accessible and easy. Lots of regulars and incredibly family oriented - the management clearly have great connections with their repeat visitors. Impressive is a word that doesn't do it justice.

Lovely owner was super friendly and made us feel most welcome. Great location for the sunset beach and for the price, facilities and campsite is excellent! Perhaps the best so far in terms of value that we have been to on the north island. Hope to be back one day!

As far as I can tell I give it 5 stars, it was our first family camp trip and provided the cleanest facilities needed. Much appreciated, well recommended. Thank you again.

I live just down the road from this establishment so, I have never used it apart from the campers shop which is stocked all through the Summer period. It is fair to say that in recent years with the new owners working away on the site, there is certainly more patronage. I am led to believe that pricing is very fair. Come have a look at fabulous Hihi where the sunsets are glorious and we always see campers from the park with their cameras ready.

Have stayed at many campgrounds and this one rates tops. Immaculate facilities and not too big or noisy. Incredible amount of things to do in the area, many wonderful beaches a quick drive such as Cable Bay, places to eat, high quality tourist shops in Mangonui. Incredible sunsets over Hihi beach with friendly campsite owners.

Very nice facilities. Was $19 per person for non powered site. Free 500 mb of wifi. Kitchen is very clean. Very quiet campsite. Ping pong table was nice in the lounge. Sunset on the beach was incredible. Friendly staff. Laundry is $4 to wash.

Awesome grounds with lots of different areas, terraces and trees, our campsite had perfect sea views and shelter from the morning sun. I found the amenities practical, functional and clean always, friendly accommodating hosts made the stay even more delightful. Now that we know about this place we will be back! I CAN'T see why the other review was soo poor, the amenities may be a little dated, but they were always clean and tidy, and i think they add a certain charm that new sterile environments can detract from.

Awesome facility. Beautiful setting. Terrific hosts. Great access for kayaking, fishing, swimming. Within easy reach of all Northland treasures. Accommodation to suit all travelers. We had a terrific time and will be going back again.

Having run holiday parks for 20 years I have a good idea on what ones expectations are when staying in a park Cleanliness, tidy, welcoming and a sense of safety This park meets all of those. Although not NIE it is spotlessly clean and well presented All credit to the owners for turning this prime spot around

A really well-kept and pretty campsite, in the sleepy little town of Hihi. Kind of remote and a 10 minute drive to the nearest shops and restaurants but Christine and Jeff have a little shop of essentials. Overall, a great campsite on a nice beach with immaculate facilities!

This has to be the cleanest well organised camp in NZ. We could'nt believe how clean, neat and tidy everything was. The kitchen has stocks of everything you will ever need to cook your dinner. Top of the pops camp for us. Iv'e already put great comments on campermate as well as NZ Motorhomes. Safe, secure, quiet and friendly. Best camp you will ever find in NZ

During our NZ campervan holiday in November we stayed at a number of camp parks. Hihi Holiday Park was the best by far. Clean and quiet in a beautiful beachside location, this park is a real find. The kitchen area and shower block were spotless, the grounds beautifully manicured and the resident ducks friendly and photogenic. We didn’t want to leave but could only stay 2 nights. Thank you Christine, you and your hubby can feel very proud of your holiday park.

I recently stayed at Hihi Camp and like Bronson was very disappointed with the facilities, the location was amazing lovely park like surroundings but sadly the camp was rundown and tired it just needs someone to do a major clean in the toilets and showers, and regular maintenance, then spruce up with a bit of paint. The kitchen had reasonable amenities 1 fridge that didn't work properly, you could hire a very small fridge for $5 per day on top of the cost of your tariff which I thought was a bit steep. We had a powered site and were charged $36 per day for 2. I don't think I will consider going back there.

Pretty nice facilities, but the tent site we were given was very rocky so our pegs could only go in shallowly. Office staff need to improve their tone of voice, particularly over email, if they want people to return...

My husband and I have just returned home after a fantastic week at HiHi Beach Holiday Park. It was a wonderful park to stay in and the hospitality first class. Everything was so clean and tidy and the fishing off the beach not too bad. We will certainly return to the beautiful and friendly camping ground in the Far North. Pamela and Richard Sheath

Beautiful peaceful location. Lovely outlook across the harbour to karikari peninsula. Good place to put the boat out. The park is in a great spot right on the beach. Lovely trees surround the property.

We had a wonderful few days here. The owners are very obliging and friendly and have done a great job in bringing the camp back to how a family camp should be. Lots of varying sites to choose from and such a perfect spot just across the road to the water. We will be back! Sue Saunders

Fantastic holiday park. Modern facilities with a large kitchen and hot showers. Pay for laundry ($4). 500mb wifi included. The beach is literally just across the street. Small waves and a stream meant that it was perfect for my kids. My wife loved it so much we stayed an extra day. Hihi is a sleepy town with no stores, but there is a convenience store on site at the holiday park.

We have stayed here 3nights, a beautiful camp, good clean facilities, great hosts. NZMCA friendly. One of the best camps we've ever stayed in and we've been camping for over 30years.

Lovely campsite paticularly before a storm. We have travelled throughout NZ and this would have to be one of the very best sites in NZ. Absolutely spotless service areas. Vety friendly hosts.

A beautiful spot right across the road from the beach. Clean and tidy campground with modern, clean amenities. Pet friendly, -dogs must be on leash as there are kiwis living in the vicinity

Wow well what can I say, I phoned and asked for a pitch with a view and Christine certainly delivered! We were as the other half said the Kings of the hill, with the most amazing view of the bay with the sun from late morning till sunset. The camp itself we couldn't fault (although we didnt realise the showers were based by the laundry till the last day...doh! Although we did use the shower in the toilets.) The showers were clean and hot the kitchen and toilets clean to a high standard. (Loved the recyle system!! Nice work) couldn't believe Christmas day we got to see a family of Orca Whales swimming right into the bay, an experience we will never forget. Christine and her husband didn't stop, always working, smiling as they did so. Very accommodating polite and friendly. Wifi was free, we had to come down to the communal area to use it but partner was able to log into premier plus pass and watch liverpool win so he was happy all around :) thank you for an amazing Xmas holiday and wishing you both a fantastic 2016 :) (hope you 2 get a break)

Clean, great views but we had trouble getting WiFi and shutting the main door was a bit of trouble too but small thing, lovely host, I would use again.

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP! Bronson and Sharon's comments have been received! The new owners took over at the start of September, and were in the process of gutting the kitchen and refreshing the bathroom and laundry. They even said the rusty old washing machines are on the way out, with new ones due once the reno is complete! The Office looks like its had three spring cleans in one day, and the shop is supposed to be open for Labour weekend (2015). We're definitely going back at Christmas, and are looking forward to seeing what further changes Jeff & Christine have made. Certainly was run down, but this little beauty is on its way back to its former glory. Nice work guys, keep it up!

Absolutely loved staying here in my campervan. Beautiful setting. Beautifully clean and lovely facilities. Very picturesque grounds. The terraced cabins look super cute too. Right across from the beach. Gorgeous pohutukawa with a swing and a spot to watch the sunrise just across the road. Will definitely stay again.

(Translated) We were in the middle of April 2016 here at the campsite and we loved it. Besides us, there were only two other guests, which made it super quiet and extremely enjoyable. The kitchen was very large with everything you need (fridges, freezers, toasters, cooking combinations, dishes, pans, etc.). The bathroom was rather small with a shower and 2 toilets, but clean. Hard to imagine how it should work if the camp is fully booked. (Original) Wir waren Mitte April 2016 hier auf dem Campingplatz und es hat uns super gefallen. Nebst uns waren nur noch zwei weitere Gäste hier, womit es super ruhig und extrem angenehm war. Die Küche empfand ich als sehr gross mit allem was man braucht (Kühlschränke, Gefrierer, Toaster, Kochkombinationen, Geschirr, Pfannen, usw.). Das Bad war mit nur einer Dusche und 2 WC's eher klein, jedoch sauber. Kaum vorzustellen wie das funktionieren soll wenn der Campingplatz ausgebucht ist.
