P. S.Good walk to the caves, mostly flat, easy for kids. You'll want a headlamp for the caves to free up your hands. Slippery and muddy in there, take care and use the ropes. Couple of small river crossings to get there and lots of ferns, beech trees.

P. K.Access Maitai Dam from here. The dam itself is not much, but the drive out from Nelson on the Maitai Valley Road is lovely
