Reviews of Paradise Valley Springs
H.
Paradise Valley Springs was the highlight of our visit to Rotorua. The kids loved seeing and feeding all the cute animals (even the trout). They even got to pet some of them, much to their delight. Then we got to the Lion Feeding, which was brilliant. The keeper was informative and interesting and the whole crowd was enthralled. It was a great experience and I can't recommend it enough.
K.
Excellent a bit expensive but well worth it. We are from Wellington and we found this to be so much better than our Wellington zoo. You can get up so close to the animals and can feed most of them. We went for the lion feeding, that was great. The walk around was easy and well sign written and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We bought a toy lion for our baby to remember our trip there from the gift shop which was a great price. Also food to feed the animals was a reasonable price. Highly reccomend and we will definitely be back.
B.
A great way to spend the day with friends or family. The Lions are fed at 2.30pm daily where you can get close enough to take some really good pictures. The enclosures have many different animals and birds as well as trout and eels if you’re lucky enough to see them in the waters. Most of the tracks are shaded by the native trees as you walk around the park. Don’t forget to purchase the cups of pellets found at reception, because you can use these to feed all the animals except where the signs say otherwise. Wonderful experience and souvenirs to purchase before you leave. We will definitely come again ❤️
J.
Loved it! So much trout and heaps of different animals to see. Helps burn the kids energy too my boys are both ready to sleep. Second time we've come it was 75$ for two adults and some animal foods. Under 5s are free so great value if you've got young children if not great for all ages
K.
Absolutely love this animal Park is a must do when we come to rotorua!! Yesterday was no different park is set out great, animals are so friendly and great way to get up and personal feeding them, was really cool to see the cubs too very inquisitive, kids loved it and a great day out!
M.
If you enjoy being up and close with animals then this is the perfect place for you. To name a few, we saw: Lions and their two 8month old cubs, Huge Goats, Spotted Deer, Lamas and many varieties of birds and trout. We were able to feed all the animals except the lions (ofcourse) but the wildlife park does lion feeding at 2.30 everyday which is a thrill to watch. We were 2 adults and an infant and paid $73 in total including animal feed, prices to this attraction were worth it!! If you're doing a trip to Rotorua, I highly recommend checking this awesome place out
A.
It was worth to visit. Especially for family with kids, they will love this place. All the native birds, different kind of trout, and animals are very interesting. Feeding them is always fun for kids.
Walking through the tracks it would take more than 1 hour since you have to stop every little time.
Lion feeding was quite tense, and please check the time before you visit if you would like to watch it =)
Thanks for the nice time!
T.
This place is such a amazing 🤩 you will definitely see so many animals and Lion 🦁 with their 10 months old boy and girl 🦁. See my photos and look what amazing place there!!
D.
Lovley day out for the kids. So nice and peaceful. Lion feeding is not to be missed at 2.30pm daily.
H.
A great place to visit! We aimed for the lion patting session. The little cats were just too cute to handle. Even though we had to wait in a long queue for that, it’s definitely worth the wait.
Bush walk was also a relaxing activity as you get to feed the animals on the way. Our children had lots of fun!
J.
I still remember when I visited Paradise Valley Spring years ago, I played with lion cubes, this time we arrived just right time for watch lions feed.
On the other side of valley, there are different kinds of animals, it was lucky to view four little Kunekune babies.
It always brings me surprise, never get bored to visit.
T.
Really relaxing place in a beautiful valley. Native bush and lots of native birdlife which is just gorgeous. Met the little lion cubs - from a safe Level 2 distance - and spent a few $$ feeding the ducks, trout, and farm animals.
L.
Amazing spot. We were lucky enough to.pat the lion cubs, cuteness overload. The kea were friendly and the bushwalks with the huts etc set up were great. Had nice coffee and cake too. Would definitely return
c.
It was an awesome experience I would definitely come back here again all the wildlife were amazing 😊
S.
Amazing place takes about 2 hours to walk the main park with lots stops and the lion feeding at 2:30 is a must.
A.
Such an honored experience, we visited the Lions Zanda (Male) Bella, Hannah and Lucah (Females) over the weekend and what such a humble day it was to be in there presence. Highly recommend visiting Paradise Valley, we also enjoyed the walk around the park, listening to all the animals sounds and feeding the ducks and trout, animals are all so friendly, loved this place would bring my kids here next time thank you Paradise Valley Rotorua, Zanda, Bella and all the other animals in the park 😊
E.
Really cool to see the cubs up close and to pet them. All staff were so lovely. The springs were really pretty. We got really close to the kea in the enclosure it was great.
Would recommend for you to buy the land animal feed only as there are so many deer, alpacas, goats and other animals to feed where as the fish don't really chase the food.
The lion enclosure gives good views of the lions but can seem a bit depressing because it looks small for all those lions. Nice place and spent a solid 2 and a half hours there including the cub petting time.
A.
Amazing place, friendly staff lovely place to spend with Family and have a picnic beautiful gift and snack shop, zlot of wildlife to look at Especially the lions. Will be visiting again, recommend this place for tourists and locals.
S.
It's was so nice ,even in the rain ,they had umbrellas for hire for 2 dollars so good ,we had a great time
H.
Been there a few times, nothing much has changed. Now they have a few lion cups so we went again. The queue was very long took 1 h to get to the cups. Patting is awesome. The male cup was very lousy heh heh.... I hope the lions can keep producing so the cups can last
S.
Kids loved it! Little one loved all the ducks and trout of which there were alot haha
Lions were amazing and looked well looked after which was good to see!
Loved the Mamaku Forest walk and the farm animals at the end (especially the very friendly goat who wanted all the cuddles through the fence)
G.
I am writing this on behalf of my friend - She went to Paradise Valley over the weekend with her 3 year old granddaughter and she felt it was an absolutely wonderful experience - even in the rain! There were so many things to see and do. Her granddaughter was thoroughly engaged and had a smile on her dial the whole time. The length of the walk and the variety of animals, left her entertained entire time. She felt that there were plenty of spots to sit and reflect and enjoy the serenity of the park. She highly recommends this experience and will most definitely be back again! Thanks team :)
M.
Lions are awesome and baby loved it. Staff welcoming and all well set out with plenty to see. Well worth the trip and the cost. Will bring our boy back when a little older to see the feeding lions and feed all the animals you have to offer.
J.
Great place to go for family with kids, you can get very close to the animals.
B.
Was an awesome experience, weather wasnt the greatest but it didnt bother the animals or the staff. My Mum got to pat a lion cub which was something she has always wanted to do so thank you very much. Would recommend anyone to take the short journey out there from rotorua city and walk through nature and some pretty cool animals.
J.
Kids had a great time. Check the feeding times of lions if that is the main reason for visiting. Had fun feeding the animals especially the black and white alpaca
S.
Paradise Valley Springs is a real diamond-in-the-rough... We weren't sure what to expect but it turned out to be fantastic, a real first-class spot. The perfect place to bring a toddler, the animals were greatly enjoyed in their beautifully landscaped setting. Of course the lions were the star attraction - its amazing to get so close. Highly recommended family fun.
P.
Absolutely loved every minute we were there, better than a zoo any time, clean environment, beautiful animals couldn't ask for anything more, thanks Paradise
J.
Took my 3 kids here on holiday (5, 4 & 4). They had great fun walking around the park and seeing all the fish in the beautiful clear pools. The lions were all lounging in the sun, and while I feel sorry for them in the fairly small enclosure, they look healthy and well cared for.
One of the cool parts of the walk is that you can fill up your water bottle from the fresh water spring. This water has been tested and is safe for drinking. Very cold and refreshing on a hot summer day.
The farm animals are the last part of the walk and they're very friendly and hopeful for food!
E.
Simply amazing! It's almost like a mini zoo. Worth taking family and friends there for a days trip. Lion feeding was a nice experience and the guide was very informative. Overall great atmosphere and very friendly and kind team. If going on a sunny day then make sure to take water with you - nah!! Just kidding!! You don't need to, there is a natural spring oozing out of the mountain which is very safe to drink, so fill up and drink as much as you like. Plenty of animals to see and all the animals and really taken care of. Will surely make a trip there again.
N.
Best place for animals lovers. You will have the chance to get close to the animal and touch most of them.
You can also touch the lion cubs when they have them
J.
Highly recommend. Excellent facility, very pleasant to walk around and lovely staff. Animals all very well cared for.
C.
Definitely worth a visit. One of the best zoos we have visited, all the animals are happy and friendly, they all come up to the fence for a pat and a feed. I especially loved that all the enclosures followed a track so you don't need a map.
s.
We loved looking around the place and feeding the animals. The gift shop was really affordable which was a pleasant surprise, we bought loads. Shame the Cafe didn't offer very much, would have been good to be able to buy some hot chips or sandwiches etc especially since it was cold and raining.
M.
Always a lovely place to walk through. Currently they have a couple of lion cubs that you can pat. A awesome experience
D.
Amazing place to visit. All animals look well loved. Was awesome to pat a lion cub!
R.
Best experience ever!! Kudos to Suzie and team, you guys made our day!! Incredible staff. Thanks so much guys for all your love and energy.
A.
Paradise valley is a lovely place to visit. Today the lions were happy just to sleep. A bonus currently is there are a couple of young cubs on display as well. This really got the kids excited!
J.
Took our Greatgrandchildren here during the holidays. The boys loved it. Being about to pat and feed the animals was a great experience for city kids. The lion feeding was great to watch. Highly recommend.
J.
Wow wow wow what an AMAZING place. We were able to pat a lion cub. This was our highlight. There was a goat that loved to be patted. We highly recommend this place.
R.
A well kept park with lots to see.
Baby lions were very cute.
B.
Dunno why not been here before, just fabulous, even wet day plenty to see, grab some food from the shop. Wait till you see the trout , amazing. Lions pretty cool, cubs are 6 months old now getting big....we loved the Wallaby so tame well worth a return soon. Afternoons probably better when feeding times...Thank you staff super friendly
B.
I was a bit skeptical at first but was absolutely blown away by Paradise Valley Springs! The place is awesome, great range of animals and exhibits. The lions are pretty cool although they just lie around in the sun, neat range of farm animals. The bird aviaries are awesome, Tui’s, Kereru and Kea! Heaps of trout, ducks of all varieties and you can hand feed the wallabies. Well worth the entrance fee, make sure you pack a picnic and time it right with the lion feeding )perhaps go 2 hours before the feeding and watch that at the end
W.
Paradise Valley Springs has a variety of animals to see. Perfect for young kids, where you can get hands on with some animals e.g. farm animals. The daily Lion feeding session is a must and watch out for the cheeky Keas, as they may bite 😋. Don't bother with the $5 bag of food for the trout, they were obviously full, as they didn't seem interested with the food at all.
M.
Fantastic place to visit, especially when the lion cubs are available. Very rare opportunity to get so close to these big cats
A.
Amazing experience seeing the lion feeding! Beautiful lions. They have so many animals that other parks don't! It was an amazing day overall and will definitely return
D.
This place is great for a day out. So many great animals to see and the lion pride is a amazing. Getting so close and such an active pride. Make sure you buy extra animal foods as there are lots of friendly animals to feed.
K.
Excellent place to take your kids to hand feed animals and see the lion cubs. Nice walkways through bush and streams. Definitely worth a visit
S.
Excellent picked up my 2 Little baby's xx
Thanks so much❤
U.
The park is set in a very natural and well-maintained New Zealand bush environment. We are fortunate to have a freshwater spring onsite that supplies the park with all of our water needs, along with an on display water bottling plant. The Ngongotaha Stream winds throughout our park, home to many wild trout.
All of the wildlife on display is found either wild (both native and introduced) or farmed around New Zealand - with the exception of our African lion pride and for this reason the lions are housed and displayed in a slightly separate area of the park.
We encourage hands on or close contact with many of our animals and hope to foster an appreciation and love for wildlife through connecting with animals, while also educating visitors about the challenges a lot of our native species are facing on a day to day basis. Since our first lion cub was born back in 1986 we have also offered the chance for visitors to interact with cubs when we have them.
M.
Amazing experience thoroughly enjoyed it, very well laid out and maintained. The lions are the highlight highly recommend an absolute must do.
L.
Had an amazing experience here! We got to pat lion cubs which was beyond awesome! Just love the setup of this place. Really beautiful. A must do visit.
L.
Fabulous staffs and good experience for families and friends. Really enjoyed be with the babies!!! We will be back soon.
A.
Very cool! Worth the drive out. Lion feeding was a great time to visit. My daughter wanted to take ALL the animals home with her!
L.
This place is great fun for the kids. The lions are majestic, and the cages are kept clean and tidy, there are no terrible smells usually associated with a zoo / animal facility. The gardens are beautifully maintained, and the kids were thrilled to be able to hand feed all the different types of animals, deer, trout, ducks, goats, lama, kea birds. These animals are all very tame, allowing you to get up close and personal with them! The facilities are also clean and the treetop walks are so relaxing! Will definitely recommend to anyone who wants a trip out with the family.
J.
The Loin Clubs were amazing definitely worth the wait. Heads up though line up ealry or esle you will be there for a while waiting but was amazing
S.
Spent 3 hours here with the kids. Lots of animals to see and feed. The lions were a huge favourite. Lion feeding is highly recommended and at 2:30pm daily. Umbrellas available for hire for $2. Most of the track is accessible with a stroller, just a couple of areas with steps but those sections can be skipped.
C.
Great place to visit and see animals. Has lions that get fed at 2.30pm each day so good to try and arrive for that. Good for all ages.
L.
Spent 2.5 hours here and could easily have spent more. It's well maintained, the staff are friendly, and there are a lot of animals to feed! Highlight was watching the lions being fed, up close. Also enjoyed learning about various trees and trout.
S.
Great place, animals are friendly, lion feeding was informative and fun to watch. Lovely place
A.
Great experience. Up close to the lions which was amazing to see. Farm animals very friendly. Had a great time.
M.
Stopped by Paradise Valley Springs on the way home from a road trip. We only had a couple of hours to spare and wanted to see some Lions. Chose the perfect place, we stayed about 2 hours. It was only a couple of dollars a bag for animal feed. This would be the perfect place to bring children for hours of entertainment. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay for the lion feeding.
N.
An absolute must do if yr in Rotorua. Our family spent the whole day here for our daughters birthday. We took a picnic lunch & enjoyed the whole park. It's well maintained, the staff are friendly & accommodating & there was even free wheelchairs which we used for our disabled mother. The lions were the highlight for the whole family. We look forward to bringing others here. Thanks Paradise Valley Springs! Keep up the great work👍👌
R.
Absolutely fantastic animal park. Clean, tidy and well managed, beautifully signposted tracks, heaps to see and interactive exhibitions. The animals are obviously well cared for and loved. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Very reasonably priced for a large family and price is for a full day pass which means you can leave and return throughout the day. Unlike other places you are encouraged to take a picnic. Friendly staff.
Q.
Decent place to bring the kids in Rotorua when the weather is fair. A decent variety of animals and some are good for hand feeding as well. Slightly on the pricey side, but they do have lions which I imagine cost a bit for upkeep. You do get a really good discount if you're a Rotorua resident.
V.
Such a beautiful and peaceful place! Very well looked after, stunning walks, nature has been respected. Friendly staff, easy parking, broad nice path for prams, super clean toilets. Way better than we expected
D.
We had a great family trip loved it and being able to feed animals was awesome I would recommend we definitely had fun.
H.
Lovely wildlife/farm park in a beautiful setting of bush and river. Kids loved the interaction with the animals so would recommend purchasing animal feed. The kids loved the lions.
T.
Truly awesome experience. The pride of lions was amazing, it was so cool being able to see them so close. The entire park was beautiful with gorgeous natural walkways with mossy walls and wooden paths, it felt magical walking through and seeing all the animals. It didn’t feel like a usual zoo because the animals weren’t in cages or enclosures, they were right there walking around with us. Thank you paradise valley springs for such an incredible time!
D.
Great way to fill in a morning or afternoon. Not a huge variety of animals, but the park layout and natural beauty of the area more than make up for it. Nice treetop walk area and natural spring that you can drink from. The cherry on the top here is the Lions. Looking at their coats and general demeanour you can tell that these majestic animals are well cared for
T.
absolutely awesome ! park was super clean and all animals were super happy and well fed, we are locals and figured we would pop out and visit the lion cubs and was impressed with the quality of the park ! 5 stars from us 😄
O.
What a peaceful and beautiful place to walk around and see NZ wildlife. The lions all look happy and well looked after. Great opportunity to see these majestic creatures up close!
S.
My children absolutely loved this visit with the wallabies being their favorite animals. Good hour or two just meandering around feeding friendly birds, ducks, rabbits, pigs, trout and other animals. Lion feeding a highlight.
Lovely space, well set up, very enjoyable
n.
Awesome, well kept, lots of animals. Kids really enjoyed feeding trout, ducks and llamas. Highly recommend.
G.
Lots of animals to see, pet and feed. Little birds will literally steal the food right out your hands.
S.
Can't recommend enough, the keepers were really knowledgeable and knew their animals well. It was an amazing place with lots to see and the birds/animals were surprisingly friendly, the animal feed was a great price and so were the coffees. Definitely a must see. Great to just take your time and take some pictures.
D.
Paradise Valley Springs feels like a zoo, but better in a few aspects. In a zoo the animals are separated with cages and there is no direct interaction. At Paradise Valley Springs you can physically go into the caged enclosures and interact with certain animals (except the adult lions of course). They have shows where they feed the lions and you can also interact with lion cubs, if they have any in the enclosure at the time. They have a little cafe with a little gift shop as well, where you can also buy food which you can use to fees the animals. All in all, a really great place to visit.
R.
Perfect for young children. You get to feed to trout and farm animals. Recommend buying at least two bags of feed per child. You can see up close at the daily lion feeding. Easy to get around and relaxing - not too busy. Much better than the other tourist trap in town where you don't actually see any animals 😒
P.
An excellent day out - highly recommended - great variety of interesting wildlife in natural settings - was also most impressed with how well everything is being maintained.
P.
Great get away for the family. The lions are of course a must see. The trout spawning grounds are legendary. The rest of it is a big petting zoo, kids will love it.
A.
It is a great experience as you can see the lion feeding and also feed the deers and goats and they have a variety of other animals but it isn't just all animals it is scenic and it also had a cave that is been made like a aquarium to see the fish in the outside pond and it also has a natural spring water that is written has healing powers as it was used to heal the wounded soldiers. This park allows you to understand the roots of new zealand and also great for a water there is also a restaurant present and a sovereign shop and it was a wonderful place to be.
M.
The zoo is very beautiful. Love the walk and view and everything. Lion feeding is not so much. Maybe lions are not hungry. They didn't even show interest in the meat. Lol
K.
We had a great day feeding animals, hiking though nature and watching the demonstrations (Lion feeding and Kea education). Kids loved every minute!
W.
Awesome! Absolutely awesome! I must to do in Rotorua! There is to many highlights to mention! You can pet almost all the animals! We had a couple of Mallard ducks follow us around, eating out of our hands, really fair prices too. 3 adults 3 kids $90 for an all-day pass
M.
Great place to take the kids, all the animals a very friendly and will eat from your hand
R.
Very nice place in Rotorua

Kids under 5 are free
Cafe on site (please don’t expect eggs Bennie) they have food like sandwiches and fries

#attraction / Loin Feeding @2:30 pm everyday
Note:

Take drinking water if you can as this tour will take time approximately 3 hours minimum but you get pass for full day for $30
Food - you may bring your food to eat on site
This place is really good for kids
J.
Great experience loved feeding the animals. Recommend to buy atleast two bags of animal food.
T.
Awesome place to see a lot of neat critters, staff are friendly and the lion feeding at 2:30 is cool to see.
J.
Had a lot of fun feeding the animals. Missed the lion feeding but it was still an enjoyable experience. Would go again
W.
Great display if animals for the kids, tidy and well presented grounds. Plenty of sanitiser stations throughout the grounds.
G.
Hidden gem well worth the trip if you've got kids, or if you want to know how water used to taste. There is a natural spring producing 100 year old water which is beautiful. We finished out bottle in the car park and went back in to just to refill the bottle.
B.
We always go to paradise Valley for lion feeding time. Great walk around the trout River and pools plus loads more animals and some nz history thrown in.
G.
Great place except the animals need more area than they have especially the lions
S.
Totally worth the short trip out of Rotorua to find this Gem!
Friendly staff, super clean and tidy and amazing easy walks plus the Lions, you just have to be there at 2.30pm for this!
L.
Fantastic place for family feeding animals, duck and fish as well as lion feeding in action! No cellular reception (at all) in the area so you can enjoy the time without getting distracted!
N.
Must see place in Newzealand ROTORUA. Lion are the centre part of attraction but so much natural beauty so many birds and spotted deers. It’s real paradise on earth.
V.
Very close encounter with the lions! Best time to visit is in the morning where they are most active and smaller crowds. Look at the cutie piglets!!
R.
What an amazing place to spend time specially with kids and seeing interacting with animals of all sorts. Needless to mention that lion feeding was a great watch.... will recommend others definitely.
J.
Great fun for kids with farm animals feeding and the lion feed was exciting for them.
M.
I visited Paradise Valley Springs in the month of June 2018. It is a beautifully presented New Zealand Trout, Bird and Wildlife park, along with a pride of African Lions.
This place is worth to visit.
C.
We had a great day feeding the birds fish and farm animals. We also watched being fed. Highly recommend
T.
Heaps of fun for the whole family, Our younger girls thoroughly enjoyed feeding the animals and the older ones loved the lions especially around feeding time.
M.
Paradise valley is an awesome way to spend a day. There are plenty of places for taking some lovely photos. Great place for a picnic during the, warmer months.
C.
Absolutely love visiting this park, the staff are lovely and informative, the animals are beautiful, the property is beautiful. Highly recommend.
K.
We love the Paradise valley Springs. Our children enjoying seeing the animals specially the Lions feed.
K.
Spent the good portion of a morning here. It was really worth the money! Make sure to grab some food to hand feed some critters! I think it's best to visit in the morning to avoid more people/the animals are hungrier- it was like a private petting zoo when we visited! My nicer camera has all the good photos so I only have this one picture of a bunny that was out and about- but be prepared to see lots of wildlife including keas, lions, wallabies, alpaca and the pudgy trout. The feeding of lions and keas are worth going to - the staff are very informative and friendly.
K.
Good place if you have kids.
Main attractions are the lions and a bit expensive $35 each is not worth as they don’t have any other animals.
C.
This would have been a 5 star rating if there were no lions! The farm area is great; well maintained, clean and all animals looked in very good condtion with suitable barriers around them.
And then there are the lions....zero stand off barrier, overcrowded and unable to get away from torment!! While we were there a huge group of young schoolchildren screamed at, jumped up and down and wound up a lioness at the mesh for a good solid 10minutes. Not a single "adult/teacher" said anything for the whole of that time. Why is there no stand off barrier? Or why is there no member of staff stopping this sort of behaviour or at least signage to explain why that sort of thing is not allowed?
Ridiculous and an unneccessary addition to what could be a fantastic place. Why not drop the admission price and charge extra for a "meet the lions exp" which is assisted at all times and allows people to ask questions about the cats while also giving them a break from cpnstantly being tormented!
D.
The best place for actual animal interaction. Lion show is worth the wait.
N.
This place was awesome! We got to hand feed some cool animals, including a reindeer, goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, wallabies, trout! It was awesome. And we got to see the lions being fed which was cool, they all know their own names, and would only go for their food when their name was called. Animals look really well looked after too!
S.
Great place to go to see and feed a lot of animals and learn some of the history of the area. Probably the best reason for going is looking at the large pride of lions. Sometimes you can pat the lion cubs when covid is at level 1. But great seeing the lions getting fed at 2:30 and hearing about them. Absolutely fantastic shop with 3d pictures of lions and tigers, etc, toys, key chains and the normal things and a great little cafe as well.
h.
Great family fun, we really enjoyed our visit here, loved that you can feed animals makes the interaction for kids all the more fun, it's abit of a drive out but I think it's worth it.
E.
Great place to wonder around and see cute animals. Good for kids and adults as well. I always enjoy this part of Rotorua. 🦁 enclosure right on time as they were feeding lions. Interesting
T.
A lovely park to visit wildlife: birds, fish, animals, lions.....It needs more than an hour to walk around the park, take photos, have a look on the information that provide.
e.
service good, not alot of people were there last time we went so plenty of parking, drive out there is lovely(long enough for the kids to get excited, but not so long they moan lol) lions really groovy such a vibe, lion feeding was neat!!! cubs were very cute. lots of variety of animals the little kunekunes always a win. my son loves nature so always a peaceful walk...
T.
Fantastic day out. Beautifully kept park with lots of close up encounters with the animals. Highly recommend to all.
R.
Amazing experience
You can see the lion's really close, and there are another beautiful animals around there
B.
Such a beautiful place!! Absolutely loved all the animals and the grounds are very well kept, awesome to see
D.
Wonderful little park, great views, lots of good information along the way. Was very peaceful and loved the variety the park offered from fish, to trees to birds the information was great.
T.
Really enjoyed this place the aninxks are well looked after and well housed. Beautiful Bush setting.
J.
A amazing place that you can touch adorable animals here and even pat lion cubs🦁.
Also want to share a hilarious picture (“do NOT feed kea” sign)😂😂😂
G.
Best part is you can feed some of the animals 🥰🥰
One of the best experience 🙂🙂
K.
Absolutely loved it it's a good place to take the kids aswel so I would definitely say that if your traveling around with the kids and use want to do something as a whole family in Rotorua then I reccomend going to Paradise Valley the kids will love it you get to feed the Trout, Ducks,Goats,Pigs and more and at 2.30 you can watch the Lions been fed it's pretty cool we enjoyed ourselves.
S.
Heaven on earth ans the best sapphire aurora hidden here. It is greta for both who just building love foundation and the one who already have family.
M.
Went there to Pat the cubs but it turns out in level 2 you can't do that they should state that on website. Otherwise all good
N.
Kids loved it and so did us parents. Def recommend taking children is excellent for wheel chair access aswell. 5/5⭐ for interaction with animals and hand feeding. The cub lions were a treat to watch while they played. Pricing has gone up but that's understandable of covid recovery.
C.
Such a beautiful place where I've made many amazing memories. I'd just love to see the lion enclosure expand one day in the near future.
A.
Great place nice place to go for a walk, lions are intimidating! :D didn't expect such a nice walk but it was very good lots of sights fish and birds! The birds were very friendly are some food right out of our hands, the wild ones that is. Not allowed to feed the kept ones! Lol to be expected!
s.
We absolutely loved it. The tranquil bush walk was done so well with a beautifully made walkway. The river running through was so clean and any signage/bins etc was done in a way that fitted in with the surroundings rather than looking touristy. The farm animals all looked happy in good sized enclosures and seemed to enjoy the attention from the kids. We took a 3 1/2 year old and 15month old and both were happy and interested the whole time. I’ve not been to a place similar to this that has been done so I well.
We didn’t bother with the lions - we were here for the natural NZ stuff!
M.
Enjoyed this place . The 2 grandchildren were very impressed as well. They loved patting & feeding the animals. Also shopping for souvoniers
M.
Best experience to interact with wild Cats 🐈 babies and other animals.
R.
Lion cubs made our visit one to remember. Loved this place. The animals seem happy as they're very alert and interactive. Usually when visitting a zoo you find them sleeping or hiding away. So much to see and do without having to walk for miles.
T.
Touched a Wallaby with my own human hands. Well worth the trip to NZ. Would definitely recommend Paradise Valley Springs for anyone who wants to get up close to some cool flora and fauna.
N.
It's a great place!I love these little cuties~
T.
Fantastic for a day trip with lovely animals and scenery. The lion feeding is a must see. One tip, the midgies are brutal so make sure you slap on some protection.
M.
What a WONDERFUL exploration! We highly recommend this place to young and older it is worth the price. Especially having a once in a lifetime opportunity to pat lion cubs in their enclosure, there are also plenty of happy sociable animals to feed and pat. The tranquillity of the place is next level, small waterfalls, a clear stream, fresh spring to rehydrate and an immaculate well kept establishment.
Plenty of places to have a picnic too so highly recommend packing a picnic. We will definitely go back again.
E.
Great petting zoo. Nice variety of NZ native plants and animals as well as some imports.
K.
We loved it. The line for the cubs was long but moved really quickly, was worthwhile taking our kids!
K.
Wow. Initially I thought this was only lion feeding, but that place is HUGE and we'll maintained! This is the sort of place I can recommend to anyone, but especially if you have kids. I am very impressed by the entire experience, and the only thing I wonder is why I hadn't heard of this place before. Will be back again
A.
Great little place, well worth the money
s.
Great place to visit. Lots of cool things to see on the walk around the trout river and great animals.
V.
Very close encounter with the lions! Best time to visit is in the morning where they are most active and smaller crowds. Look at the cutie piglets!!
L.
Fantastic place for family feeding animals, duck and fish as well as lion feeding in action! No cellular reception (at all) in the area so you can enjoy the time without getting distracted!
E.
Great place to wonder around and see cute animals. Good for kids and adults as well. I always enjoy this part of Rotorua. 🦁 enclosure right on time as they were feeding lions. Interesting
R.
An amazing experience!!!! a must for all young and old 😊 stunning grounds and amazing happy animals
s.

Check out these pics and decide for yourself
M.
Had an awesome time,I got some good photos out of it.
K.
Good place if you have kids.
Main attractions are the lions and a bit expensive $35 each is not worth as they don’t have any other animals.
A.
A good opportunity for animal lovers to feed animals. Lion feeding is a main attraction of the place.
E.
Loved how clean it was, they really take care of the animals and it shows. Lion feeder talk was great too!
R.
This place was awesome! The staff is so nice and caring. Getting to be so close to the animals was so cool. 💓
D.
Pretty nice , animals enclosures were good. Definitely recommend if you would like to see native birds up close
S.
Lion feeding is a bit average, other than that, it's a beautiful and fun place for kids
S.
Enjoyed every moment. Do not forget to get a discount if you are from Rotorua
P.
Perfect outing for a 5 year old, for her birthday. Patting the lion cubs was an obvious highlight followed by seeing the trout in the spawning stream, followed by seeing the lions fed. Plenty of wildlife for the kids to see and keep parents interested. The trout pools with trout swimming round and round or the other with trout looking very lethargic (and a couple dead) was disappointing. Well worth a half day...10.30 -3.30.
The staff were superb... extremely helpful. It was a good thing we avoided the school holidays...queues were short.
s.
Great afternoon out with the family. Loved the hands on interactions with the animsls. Trout were surprisingly a big highlight. The lions are fed every day at 2.30pm so plan your visit around this. Lovely walk in the bush to see the attractions. Highly recommend.
R.
An amazing experience!!!! a must for all young and old 😊 stunning grounds and amazing happy animals
A.
Awesome lion experience here, so close up
recommend you go at feeding time as this the best time to see lions at their most active. definitely worth the trip and make sure you bring a camera
O.
Very good place to visit, love the animals
J.
We had a lovely day as a group from a retirement establishment in Taupo the only thing I felt needed mentioning is the park seat by the lions area is a very difficult one for elderly folk to get up from a replacement seat would be very welcome I'm sure.
도.
Good place to go and interact with farm animals. The park provides good learning opportunities for children - while keeping them happy as well.
W.
Great place for kids. Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough for us to stay to lion feeding
J.
Must see the lion feeding
N.
We went with our 2 and 4 year old plus grandparents and had a great afternoon out. We thought it was way better than going to zoo as it was more interactive, less people and well thought out. The keeper who was feeding the lions was fab, we thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening. Car parking was easy, entry was very reasonable, facilities superb and staff all very friendly
N.
It's ok, not amazing or bad. Could do with more activities though
M.
This place is amazing! So much more than I expected. Highly recommend
C.
Really enjoyed our trip. Very well maintained which makes it a beautiful place to walk around.
F.
For those who love nature, long walks and looking for some peace of mind. The beauty of this place simply engulfs you. Perfect for a family day trip getaway. Feeding the lions is a must see. The staff are really friendly. Nature well preserved. 2👍up. Must do activity in the fabulous Rotorua.
H.
An amazing place, recommend going for the lion feeding at 2.30pm.
S.
This visit was sooo awesome!!!although we were not able to pat the lion cubs, one of the workers allowed us to throw food to the adult lions which was an experience i will never forget! I cold only give a five star rating but my experience was worth so much more!
A.
Great place to visit when in Rotorua. Lions are a great feature. Lacks internet but you lose track when sightseeing
T.
Pity they didn't have a shaded pinic area in the complex, and a playground would be nice, for younger children.
M.
Great fun for the young kids. The place is very well laid out and maintained. However the only source of coffee sold tastes like it came straight out of 1950s communist Russia - avoid at all cost.
G.
Lions were allowed to come dangerously close to visitors during feeding time! Make sure you don't become their meal!
G.
Great place ...don't miss the Lion feeding session...
T.
Easy walking well kept nice staff and if course the lions and cubs
G.
A great place and experience, seeing the new cubs and feeding the trout and farm animals.
R.
Wonderful afternoon meeting local wildlife. Allow a couple of hours to meander through the reserve and take everything in at a leisurely pace.
A.
Had an amazing time here, loved meeting the lion Cubs! The staff were awesome I wish I got their names. Highly recommend meeting the Cubs it’s such an awesome experience
T.
Wow wat an experience. Got to pat tiger cubs they're so cute and soft. A truly amazing experience
S.
Nice trout river walk, and farm animals. The most exciting part is patting the cubs, two of them are just 9 weeks, so cute. It's the first time we pat a really lion.
M.
Nice walk with beautiful flora and fauna. Great for smaller kids
M.
The family pass kept the kids (6 & 8)in the family engaged and entertained for nearly 2 hours. Their favourite thing was being up close to the lions. It was a good idea to get some of the food to feed the other animals - they loved the deer and piglets.
J.
They had Lion cubs! We could pat them! So Good.
Really well cared for animals, really well cared for grounds. Great day for the fam, or anyone that enjoys NZ native flora and fauna really.
A.
Lion cubs are gorgeous as are the goats and other farm animals.
S.
Me and my nephew went to the wild life park yesterday it was cool seeing all the animals there and all the ducks as well and we were feeding the ducks they were feeding out of our hands which was cool. Its a cool place to go to plus they have lions there to which is cool but they were sleeping while we were there.
Z.
Good Bush walk, get up close with kea. Not much in the way of animals other than fish and birds but a much better experience than any other zoo in nz. Worth every cent
E.
Absolutely SPLENDID
All my grandchildren love to visit when in Rotorua!
Lion cubs are just adorable and watching the big lions feed really impressed my 6yr old Grandson!
Your staff are amazing, was so busy, and I had forgotten my eftpos/credit cards (did have local ID) - they quickly look me aside and arranged internet banking from my phone - I was so grateful 👏👏👏
A.
Great attraction with all the different animals and close up feeding . Make sure to be there at 230pm for the lions feeding this was awesome
H.
The park is nice but seeing the pride of lions in action and so up close was a mojor highlight of our overall trip!! Definitely recommend going at their feeding time! Be there early and secure a nice spot near at the fence and just enjoy the experience!
M.
Cubs were neat, feeding time is at 2:30pm
L.
Lovely setting I am a local but the guests I took were very worried about the depressed horse in a paddock, wallabies that had a dirt patch with no enrichment and the lions had in there opinion a small round cage for how many there were of them.
P.
Fantastic place for a day out with the family. Absolutely loved our visit
H.
Nice place for explore animals with family
E.
My partner and I came up from Auckland to Rotovegas for a short getaway and visited this zoo it was definitely worth the visit we were able to interact with the animals and they were very freindly and happy and energetic. It was one of the best zoo's we have visited and in my opinion better than Auckland zoo. We made some hilarious memories with the lamas and wallabies and many more. I can't wait to visit the zoo again .
W.
Good surprise. The Lions feeding show is very good. We are close to them and threw guy is funny. A lot of animals are gentle, and we can touch them without been bite!
J.
Completely different from what I thought. under trees so not that hot. I feel like the tigers need more space
S.
Best trip with kids. Amazing staff. Love the place
L.
We have just visited 2 adults 2 children rather than being charged the family rate we were charged full price. The receptionist was very unhelpful
M.
Had an awesome time,I got some good photos out of it.
Z.
An interesting feature is the natural spring that you can drink out of. The Bush walk has had a good layout. There are many animals to see and feed, including rainbow trout. The Lions had caves to shelter in and tyre toys to play with so that is as good as you can do for the space, so I am happy with that. There is is a tui that tells you "peace be with you" which is very cute. I didn't know that tui birds could mimic voices.
C.
Hadn’t been there for 20 years but took daughter and two little grand- daughters last weekend . Park and animals in top condition . Immaculately maintained . Kids loved Louie the Kea especially . Lions ? Wrong time of day so they do what lions do best . Sleep .A good two hours there thanks .
R.
This is a wonderful place to take children. Great care has been taken to ensure their safety. Allow at least 2 hours, and wear warm clothing.
M.
Went to pat the lion cubs, waited in line for 45mins for a 2min pat, kids had lots of questions for the lion keeper but unfortunately ran out of time! The springs r lovely and so is the walk around the rest of the park.
A.
It was fun going around looking at and being able to feed the animals.
M.
Nice place for adults and kids to visit
J.
Didn't really know what to expect, but we were very glad we made the time to visit. Our 2 year old daughter loved it and how she could interact with a lot of the animals. Very well setup and made easy for parents with buggies or young kids who want to walk around with parents. Everyone really enjoyed it.
J.
What an amazing experience with our family today ! Our daughter turned 5 today and no toy or any other present could've made her happier! Awesome place for any day outing with the family or just alone to unwind in the tranquil native forest! Absolutely amazing!!
P.
Good place for the kids to see lion that close. The other parts are average.
K.
Lovely walk, fantastic experience for kids feeding the animals. Reasonly priced for tourist attraction
C.
Me and my son spent 2 hours here loving the nature walks and all the animals
K.
Great park, so much to see. Could spend the day or a couple hours. Money goes back into the park too. The tracks need to be waterblasted, the wooden paths were quite slippery, otherwise would be 5 stars.
J.
Great time. Spent over 2 hours there. Patted the Cubs, watched the lions get fed, and had a leisurely stroll around the rest of the facility.
t.
Beautiful walk through forest valley with lots of trout pools, farm animals and Lions. Loved it!
L.
Loved every moment of mine and my wife's time together 10/10
S.
Love coming here. Its a tad out of town but definitely worth it. Great for the kids even better when they have lion cubs.
k.
It was a great experience. Their animals are really kind and you can buy some food at the counter to feed them. The lion feeding was amazing to be so close to lions. There was maybe half a meter between, a experience I will never forget. The lions have a little less space for 8 lions, 2 males and 6 females. Because of that 4 stars. Want some time out with your family, go there.
J.
Nice afternoon walk and fun seeing the lions
A.
Wonderful area for families
S.
Probably the best wildlife park I’ve been too for children and at such a good price! My toddler absolutely loved it, as did I!, so many different animals we could hand feed. The Lion feeding was interesting to watch and learn from but my toddlers favourite was hand feeding the cute little wallabies. The park was so clean and there is so much shade from the trees keeping you nice an cool while it’s been sunny and a little hot at the moment. The staff were also super lovely and inviting. This experience far exceeded my expectation! Highly recommend this for families.
L.
Great place to spend your day. Takes about 2 hours to take everything in. I recommend buying the animal food at the entrance as it make the while experience much more engaging and interactive. Would come again. Note: The Kea feeding is awesome. Even better than the lions.
M.
Far bigger than expected. Used our entertainment Book voucher and ate a tiny lunch at their Cafe - the polenta chips are amazing. Some of the animal enclosures looked a bit small and sparse but a very enjoyable day.
L.
This place is a total vibe ! Nutritious food for the animals available. Many native species of Aoteroa bird present. Ducks trout and Tuna (eel). A natural spring you can drink from. Unsure about the lion enclosure but a pleasure to behold in person.
A.
Great little place, well worth the money
M.
Great fun for the kids. An easy walk too.
J.
Great place to visit. Clean. Animals look happy & content
C.
Animals are so friendly and the bush walk is absolutely beautiful
S.
Amazing place, we loved it there.
B.
A great kids experience with many friendly animals eating from their hands. Lovely paths and scenic native bush makes this a great way to spend 2 hours.
j.
Really cool place to go during feeding times can see the lions interact rather than lying down sleeping all day all the animals are friendly and can pet them do visit if you have time
L.
Awesome encounter with Zanda and his girls having a feed
S.
I loved loved loved feeding the animals. And the lion feeding was so cool
C.
Didn’t expect a whole great deal but it proved to be a great visit. The facility is very well designed and upkept with super friendly animals! The many small birds throughout the reserve even landed on my hands to feed off. I do seriously think the duck population inside needs a bit of control. They get a bit annoying when trying to feed other animals you don’t usually see. A certain mallard hen duck in particular was quite aggressive due to constantly wanting food. It kept flying directly in front of my wife and I. I’d recommend to see the lion feeding at 2:30pm as they were very inactive when we were there at 1pm.
D.
First time going here and i was pleasantly suprised. At feeding time you can get very close to the lions. The other animals are super friendly and well behaved. The facilities were nice and well equipped for a pram. A good hour and a halfs entertainment. Great for the kids.
C.
Excellent place for holiday visits and great experiences for both adults and children. Good for a family outing spot! Love the friendly helpful staff providing the top notch customer services. This is a MUST visit place specially if traveling with children.
E.
Super cute baby animals
K.
Spent the good portion of a morning here. It was really worth the money! Make sure to grab some food to hand feed some critters! I think it's best to visit in the morning to avoid more people/the animals are hungrier- it was like a private …

Awesome family outing, kids loved it

Loved it. Especially the lions are cool.

L.
A cool little place too visit and feed the cool animal's they have there..The only thing i really didn't agree with was the lions they need enrichment interaction and more toys too play with..I know you're all doing a great job with the animal's you have there and not bringing the people who work there down i just think the lions need more of an interesting life..
K.
Such a well designed Animal park. The lion cub patting was amazing! Love the walkways.
G.
Was a great day. Loads of fun.
k.
Great place to walk around leisurely.
A.
Great place nice place to go for a walk, lions are intimidating! :D didn't expect such a nice walk but it was very good lots of sights fish and birds! The birds were very friendly are some food right out of our hands, the wild ones that is. Not allowed to feed the kept ones! Lol to be expected!
M.
Great place to take the family! And push chair friendly. The whole park is absolutely incredible.
M.
Beautiful place to spend a day. Grounds are immaculate. Superb walks through native bush past streams and springs. Feeding time with the lions is quite a treat and the cheeky kea really entertaining. Lots to see. I would take a picnic next time though as I feel $2.50 for a Moro bar or similar a bit steep. Other than that a lovely relaxing
K.
Check out these pics and decide for yourself

k.
Absolutely brilliant, spent 3 hours there and there was heaps to do between watching the Lion feeding, feeding the other animals and trout, and walking through the Bush.
Most groups were families with young kids but our group was a mix of 20 somethings to 50 somethings - and we all really enjoyed it.
M.
Family enjoyed the day with animals and the beautiful lions.
J.
The lions and animals were well fed and happy. Great afternoon. Saw the lions fed. Was last here when the Male was a cub, he's now 200kg. Well worth it.
R.
I would prefer going here 20 times than to the zoo. That's just my preference. I felt sad for the lions there, but they actually have a pretty awesome set up. I reckon the only thing that killed it was getting there. Lol, as much as I'd day I'm good with maps sometimes not lol
C.
What a fantastic animal park! Great for the kids and adults alike! Big tip, queue early for lion cub patting!
G.
First off, an impeccably clean venue. A definition of a leaf not out of place. Great day out for old and young. Buy a couple of bags of feed, our little one loved feeding the animals around the park. Just when you think it's the end of the animals, there are more!. Lion feeding time was informative and fascinating, I don't think you will get closer to lions anywhere.
A.
Well maintained. Could get close to the animals and didn't cost as much as the other parks in Rotorua (where average kiwis are priced out)
F.
Went with no real expectations but had a fantastic day out with the family. The park was immaculately kept and the staff were friendly and helpful. The natural beauty of the park is complemented by the landscaping and the animal enclosures are very well integrated. Loved feeding the fish too.
S.
Love this place and all the animals.. pitty it's a 3hour drive... Friendly worker's 👌👍💞
L.
A very well thought out park. We loved wondering the paths and checking out the animals. The water that runs through the park is so clean! We loved all the animals and the wildlife. The little huts are cool.
Dont forget to meet the lions at the lion feeding!
A.
Good half day out for the family, especially getting up close and personal with the lion 🦁 cubs. The cafe is not worth bothering with as very limited choice.
A.
Enjoyable time for the kids to feed the animals and watch the lions
D.
The only thing that stands in the way of getting 5 stars is the lion enclosure being very small for the amount of lions in there and seeing no decent cover from the elements. The little cave shelters look too small. Seeing big enough spaces for the lions would give it a better score.
A.
Great experience, enjoy the day with family.
J.
Animals well looked after. Staff knowledgeable and passionate about their work and the animals. Great little centre - allow a few hours to properly explore. A variety of animals from alpacas through to native birds, wallabies and farm animals. Able to purchase food for fish (trout) through to farm animals. Would highly recommend a visit!
H.
We just love Paradise Valley Valley Springs! So easy to walk around, happy animals, exceptionally clean and beautifully cool with so much shade from the trees. Every time we visit it is even better. Even the ladies and gents is something good to remark about! Love it! 😍
M.
Great spot. Best kept secret of Rotorua
A.
Enjoyed watching the lions and birds, and feeding the deers, ducks and the trouts !
V.
Great park - lions were sleepy but well fed and looked healthy. Lovely walk in the forests to trout breeding grounds, aviaries and a small farm area. Well maintained, clean and very interesting. The staffa re friendly and obviously love their work.
W.
5/5: MUST go, if you have kiddos <11yrs old. Thanks, Fam Bam Tours!
S.
Awesome place to visit. Go at feeding time. Lovely walk through tree tops and plenty of animals to see.
H.
I want to express my extreme thanks to Stuart for helping me out when I encountered some problems. He was extremely helpful and saved the day for me. I do not hesitate to recommend Visiting Paradise Valley Springs and I give it a 5 star rating and Stuart a super star rating.
H.
Awesome place to take the family. They need more than one set of toilets and a better traffic flow for people otherwise great outing😁
M.
Great experience both for adults and kids especially the feeding of lions enjoyed by the five-year grand kid !!
B.
Amazing experience! So many great animals to see. Got to pet baby lion cubs which was unreal!
M.
Awesome place to take the little ones. My babys really enjoyed them selfs feeding the animals. Highly recommend
D.
Awesome family outing. Lots to keep the kids entertained
J.
Great experience. Lion cubs were adorable. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their animals.
L.
This small jewel outside Rotorua is much more than a cool spring of clear fresh water - although it has that. Feel free to refill your water bottle. It feeds a lovely little waterfall.
It has a lion pride, looking remarkably contented.
It has a lovely walking path, wheelchair accessible except for one short optional side path.
Along the way, you meet various birds, stupendous trout, and animals. It is completely worth the price to buy the prepared food packets, one for birds and trout, one for mammals. They're specially prepared not to hurt things which shouldn't have people food.
I have pictures of wallabies, alpaca, and Fallow Deer delicately eating front my Beloved's hand.
One of most enjoyable stops yet, in the wonder which is New Zealand.
A.
Very nice place to walk around, very quiet, I think we were the only visitors at the time in the afternoon, my son really enjoyed it, we handfed the ducks, deers and goats, the lion enclosure is also very well presented, in general.it was an hour well spent. At times the place and the surroundings looked magical. If you have kids they will have some great time.
M.
Always a hit. Cant get so up close with the animals. Barely a fence in between. Highly recommend the lion feeding show. Otherwise just a quickie rest of the park.
S.
They have 7 lions and they feed them everyday 2:30pm which can be viewed by public. Other attractions include a variety of domestic animals, ducks, walk through rainforest and fishes.
D.
Lovely little spot. Nice bush and creeks I'm a country boy so seen most of these animals before, nice to see lions looking in good keep
S.
So fantastic.
Amazing friendly staff.
What an exciting experience.....still pinching myself.
Loved loved loved this.
Have already recommended it to friends
A.
Best time of year to visit, early January, most of the animals had had babies which you get to pet. Was entertaining for children and adults alike.
c.
Brilliant brilliant brilliant. Great layout and design. You can see the animals very clearly and get close to them to see their amazing colours and details. Great family and children place, including toddlers. Interesting area about the former timber industry. LION FEEDING is a must see, great to see and our children loved it (3 & 1.5yrs)
G.
Amazing activity for all ages! We went on a rainy day and it was just wonderful! Can feed all the animals, lions can get up close and personal and all farm animals were lovely gentle and well looked after, very well later out and the walk round just beautiful! Would definatly go back
J.
A great place to be! Never seen lions so close before it was better than Auckland zoo.
m.
Great place for family and friends groups
J.
We visited yesterday and were so impressed .. from the moment we entered the staff were lovely, the grounds were clean outside and in. There was plenty of parking. By far the nicest animal park I’ve been to in New Zealand and far better than both Queenstown and Auckland ones my family has visited. The park is beautiful, especially the trout areas, animals seemed happy and their enclosures were all nice and clean, well kept and it didn’t smell bad at all! Bonus is that you can feed the animals and they are all friendly. The lions were cool but actually the highlight for us was walking through the trout and farm animals and being able to interact and feed / touch them.
Highly recommend going especially with a young family !
S.
Excellent value for the whole family. Short drive from Rotorua. Shady walks through forest setting which is great on a hot sunny day. Animals are nicely kept in natural settings. The whole facility is clean and well maintained.
H.
This was a surprise!! The lion enclosure was the highlight of the day! The rest of the animals & fish were lovely to experience & touch. The walk through this place was surprisingly pleasant & stunning! Loved it here!! Great for the young & the wise! Couldn't have done it without Grabone. Will definately return!!
J.
Good park, lots to see but the cafe needs improvement. They could do great if they offered a bigger menu.
V.
The lions are a must see, the walk along the Ngongotaha Stream to see the many trout is quite relaxing, try the spring water. It's not called Paradise Valley Springs for nothing.
T.
Went here for our girls 3rd birthday. Got to see the lions being feed, which she and her cousin enjoyed very much. Was great that the walkways were all shaded so the little ones didnt get hot and bothered walking through the park. They could do with some water fountains spread throughout the walkways to fill up drink bottles to keep everyone hydrated. Toilets were clean. One thing to keep in mind is that your able pay for an all day pass which allows you to enter and leave when you want. Had we have known this we wouldve went there first, left for luch and come back to watch the lions get fed at 2:30pm. Awel know for next time. The gift shop inside has some amazing little things to purchase for all ages of the family too. Our girls came home with souvenirs from the park. Very happy little people.
T.
What an excellent park, clean and tidy, excellent amenities, great collection of animals. On top of that absolutely stunning environment to walk through, beautiful Springs that you can fill your drink bottle from. My 5 year old had a great time, and my wife now wants a goat. One of the better experiences we've had on our holiday.
H.
Great place to come with the children. Lovely and clean and tidy and the animals are so friendly and well looked after.
D.
you like animals? You love this place. The lions are awesome. Come here at feeding time.
Nice cafe and shop as well
m.
This is a little paradise indeed. A bit expensive but the experience amongst the ferns and various happy healthy looking animals is worth it. Were able to get real close to the feeding lions. An interactive route through the bush. Easy walking.
b.
Great experience over all got to pwt the baby cubs, only downside was a dead trout in one of the ponds but other then that amazing

A really enjoyable day out. The park has a wide variety of animals and the keepers are really knowledgable and helpful. Animal talks were really interesting and educational, especially those for the Lions and Kea parrots. The stream running through the park full of different species of Trout was also very interesting.
B.
Loved everything about this well maintained park. Friendly knowledgable staff and the lion feeding and cub petting was a real bonus
D.
Great layout, well maintained walkways even our 2 year old could navigate. Plenty to see and interact with very friendly animals. Recommend buying more than one bag of food especially if going with kids
J.
An excellent place to take the kids really interactive, apart from the lions of course. Staff were great
P.
this place was awesome! and to top it of the walk is easy. the place is spotless and clean. highly recommend going its q pleasure to walk and see the animal and monster trout and eels
Q.
I had a lovely afternoon walking around the park, it has a lot of interactive areas. I like how they show the history of the animals and the local area. The animals all have their unique characters and make it very memorable.
K.
Such an amazing time here my daughter loved it 😊
B.
Loved everything about it! The walk around is not too long and not too short and all of the animals look very happy!
You cant miss the lion feeding at 2.30 a def must do 👍👍
K.
Excellent experience! What a wonderful place to visit. Very interactive. Really well laid out. Lots of different animals, some you get to feed! Watching the lions get fed and learning about them is pretty special. Highly recommended!
P.
Great fun for families with kids aged 5+. Don't take your toddlers, or you'll spend your day dragging them out of duck ponds or trying to prevent parrots from taking their fingers. Pricing is a bit steep, aimed a tourists. If you're local, mention that and they might do you a deal?
W.
Great family outing, if you have under 1s use them as bait for the lions to get a great close up view, they seem to be fascinated by the babies. Cool to see them fed and to feed the other animals like trout and deer. Beautiful walks and views of native NZ Bush.
M.
Good fun for the kids, animals have alot of character, even had a easter egg hunt on for the kids to win a prize.
K.
Being able to feed some of the animals is fun!
J.
Beautiful place!
It is about 20 mins drive from Rotorua City Centre, very relaxing and quiet spot.
We went on Thursday, not crowded at all, good timing to feed and take pics of those cuties.
Feed bag is $2 each.
Ticket is $39 for an adult, reasonable price, since there were heaps of animals to feed and see in the park.
Staffs were so nice and humorous,
She shared the history of the African lions in the park while she was feeding them.
Also we had a close look to Kea, I enjoyed so much when they had interaction with their trainer, and did some clever tricks! Wow!
(There are so many animals to see, such as farm animals, and I was surprised they even had the rare one like the deers, wallabies and tiger trouts etc.)!
Definitely a must go place in Rotorua if you love animals!
Travel tips: *Beware there is no network connection so check the route before you drive into the park!
M.
The family all really enjoyed this place reminder to get plenty of animal food before you go in as the kids really enjoyed feeding them.
R.
A really well set out and maintained park. We loved feeding the animals, especially the wallabies, now my niece's new favourite animal! A great way to spend a couple of hours!
H.
Awsome park to take the kids, cool to see lions and all the other animals
W.
An interactive zoo experience! The entire family loved the trip and my daughter was able to pet so many different animals. We were also able to watch the lions being fed; be sure to check the schedule in advance if you want to watch the feedings.
G.
My 15 months old enjoyed a lot here. Specially with colony of ducks
B.
Staff are friendly, the park is easy and fun to navigate, all the animals are active and friendly. The lions were super active as well. We loved it.
S.
We spent a wonderful afternoon at the Paradise Valley Wildlife Park, if we had been able to make it a whole day, we would still have had plenty to look at and for the children to be excited over. The place was clean and the walkways very user friendly. The staff were pleasant and happy to help. We all drank from the natural spring and patted the Lion Cubs and took time out at the end of the day to watch the adult lions lazying about in the afternoon sun. We would have loved to have been able to stay until sunset to hear the lions roar... Maybe next time there could be a night time review of the lion enclosure... You never know.... Well done Paradise Valley, I am definitely spreading the word...
S.
Very engaging and hands on.The lion feeding is amazing ,we saw the keas and opposum feeding as well very informative. Keas have their own personalities one pecked my husband. My favourite was the lion's great condition and healthy.
G.
Had a great a there, with watching the lions being fed, walking around and seeing other animal life, it was a lovely walk
A.
Paradise Valley Springs is a great place to bring the family! The animals are fun to feed and watch and the same goes for the trout in the streams. The kids had a great time! The Lion feeding was fun but one of the Male lions ran directly at our child and stopped suddenly just a foot from the electrical wire! It was feeding time and my 2yo had just messily eatin a sausage role. It really got the blood pumping! We enjoyed the canopy walk as well.
B.
Fantastic experience with the lion cubs.
Great park, and enjoyed by my teenagers as well.
A.
Quite a cool place. Well kept. Fairly pricy. We enjoyed the aviary with the kea, seeing the trout, and feeding all the farm animals. We spent around 3 hours there. Also note cafe only has snack type food and drinks.
R.
It was amazing 😍, just didn't like the part where last entry is at 9pm and you're allowed to be in the water till 9:30pm but they start draining out the water at 9pm
P.
Relatively good pricing and a lovely place to go with the children. Lots of animals to keep them entertained.
R.
The family and I went to see the new lion cubs and the other animals. A good place to take the kids to and seed some animals.
A.
We've really enjoyed this place in the past, but the bad weather and the non feeding trout got to us today. On a nice sunny day it's probably a nice afternoon out, but not recommend in bad weather.
j.
Love this place, lots to see and do. Highly recommend a visit. Very reasonably priced. Hugh range of animals on display, watching the lions at feeding time a highlight.
K.
Such a well designed Animal park. The lion cub patting was amazing! Love the walkways.
W.
A lovely fully shade cool walk throughout the whole complex. A refreshing drinkable spring.A must for kids. Feeding time for the lions was a highlight. Well worth the entrance fee
H.
What an awesome place. I took my nearly 2 year old son. It was a safe place to let him walk around and so many awesome interactions for him. Loved the Kea enclosure. We were so surprised to see the keas there with us. And the lions were so impressive.
P.

J.
Awesome for families ! They have 10 lions that they feed at 2:30 pm everyday. You can stand next to person feeding them . Trout streams and pools are beautiful . Bring some lunch/picnic place has a snack shop not much to pick from.
V.
Lovely place. Got to see the lions up close and feed quite a few animals. The staff are very hospitable.
B.
It was lovely to visit after a very long time . Staff friendly..grounds beautifully clean and the animals visibly happy..many wonderfully friendly. Well done guys.
T.
Great place to take your kids and spend the day. Its nicely set out and pram accessible, except for one part which is the tree walk.
Its rather pricey, but given it's in a tourist hotspot, it's to be expected. One lovely staff member was very kind and informative and talked us through the Kea avery.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit!
K.
Experienced lion feeding here.
D.
A fun place to take the kids or adults, easy walk with lots to see and do. Just beware if you can't live without wifi or phone it is located in a bit of a black spot as far as reception goes. Other than that can't fault the place.
J.
My son and I had the best day. Even got to pat the cubs at no extra charge 😊😊
E.
Good day
S.
My partner and I had a great time here. It exceeded all expectations. I'd definitely purchase a couple of bags of the animal food at the front counter, as it was pretty exciting handfeeding deer, goats, llamas (or alpacas? I can't remember which one) and many other animals. Watching the lion feeding at 2.30pm was also very cool. The meat is thrown over the fence so stand back a bit from the worker or you might get meat spray. I'd definitely recommend this if you're in the Rotorua area, we stopped in on our way from Hobbiton so if you're making that trip it's a great addition to your afternoon.
K.
Really great place, awesome animal interaction! Just wish the Lions were more active.
S.
Perfect place for both locals and tourists.
K.
Neat family farm great with kids of all ages
M.
An amazing place to relax, to hangout with family, friends and the furry and feathered kind at your own leisurely pace. Great value and well worth the visit
A.
Love the opportunity to wander in native NZ trees and around the springs with many trouts and animals to feed. Also, the lion feeding at 2:30pm is very professional and joyful. Beware that there is no cell phone signal there.
A.
Really fun experience! Saw the lion cubs, so adorable ❤️
W.
Beautiful relaxing walk and great staff. My daughter loved feeding all the animals and fish. Hot Spot to visit.
Z.
Good for little kids you get to feed a bunch of animals pat cups and watch lions get meat

Awesome place. Keep an eye out for deals in grabone or Groupon, it’s a decent deal. Love the lion feeding, amazing how the lions know their names, so awesome for the kids to see.
A.
I like it here, a leasurely stroll along wooden pathways next to the trickling stream. Wild trout are my favourite and also drinking from the spring. Take a bottle! Fill it up.
C.
Great for kids! Lovely farm park with friendly animals, great staff. Good informative walk with lots of signs and historical info. Not wheelchair suitable unfortunately, lots of steps. Treetops walk was awesome!
N.

C.
Good place for kids. Love the fresh Spring water. Don't miss the lion feeding. . it's wonderful
e.
The girl at the counter (MaryAnne) had awesome service and was very friendly; definitely deserves a raise
A.
It was great love seeing all the animals and all the native trees we walked around it 2 times looking at it all we are going to be back
B.
My breath was completely taken away.
What many 'animal parks' and 'zoos' do wrong is take animals out of their natural habitat and place them into painted cages for us to look at.
But Paradise Valley springs pulls us away into a different world of abuntant nature and life giving you a peaceful and exciting experience 😄 definetly recommend putting time away to visit this place. I felt like I was on a beautiful adventure. And I can't wait to go back ✌✌
W.
Loved it. Especially the lions are cool.
N.
I liked everything about the place and the history, the one thing I didn't much like was the driving distance to get there. Enjoyable experience.
K.
Great wildlife park with opportunities to get up close and personal with animals
M.
This is an amazing and beautiful park. I've never seen a lion so close! They have a large grassed enclosure that I enjoyed seeing.
N.
Beautiful & pristine so well kept
a.
loved it to the core and worth the money spent. you need at least two hours set a side for this adventure as you would encounter lot of things on the way.
r.
Paradise Valley is always worth a visit. I have been coming here since the 80's and each time leave happy. The lions are the star attraction but the rest of the park is beautifully designed and presented. Don't miss this if you go to Rotorua!
V.

We came on Easter Friday. It was the perfect morning, we arrived between groups of people and had a lovely quiet wander around the park and had a great time!
The kids loved the Easter egg hunt! Thanks =)
T.
Great to take kids and family during school holidays to see the animals, trout and feeding of the Lions. A bit expensive but I guess it's a touristy destination after all. Have to go at lease once while in Rotorua.
L.
Fantastic place full of smiles and love

R.
One of my bucket list is to see real lions... so amazing..
