Arriving Friday afternoon to a smile at reception through our departure on Saturday morning, a short but sweet stay. Breakfast in the dining room was faultless as was our room. Thank you very much for our lovely stay and will certainly be happy to recommend you motel.

My partner and I stay here whenever we come to Taupo - Lovely staff and cleaners, the breakfast is yummy and the cook is awesome, the rooms are roomy and supply you with everything you need, we always have a good time here and are always well taken care of. We look forward to coming back down and staying here for our next trip 😊 - Dev and Khaliyah

Nice rooms! Served us well for the night!!! Clean, tidy and had lots of condiments to use!!! Nice back outdoor area, parking right outside your door.

Second stay there in past year. Friendly staff and good value buffet breakfast at their on site dining area. Rooms are a bit "dated" but beds were comfortable. Would book again if back in Taupo.

Nice and tidy very well maintained would definitely recommend the Acapulco Motor Inn. Very reasonably priced. Also has laundry facilities for those looking for a place to stay while working in the area. The manager and staff are awesome friendly and really down to earth while still maintaining a high level of professionalism. Check them out for yourself ☆☆☆☆☆

Brilliant place to stay. We have our drivers staying here most of the week and Rob was amazing to deal with. Myself and husband ended up staying for 2 nights and cannot fault the place. It was level 3 lockdown and Taupo was quieter than normal but motel is close to the water front and a nice walk into town. Room was tidy, warm and has everything you need for a comfy stay. Spa bath was a treat. Rob was awesome and we will always be coming back here when we are in Taupo.

Nice tidy place with good parking really close to the lake and shops. Pressure in shower was great, beds were comfy but big spa bath wasn't comfy unfortunately. But the towels were thick and heavy and luxurious. Nice selection of coffee and even a little packet of biscuits for supper. Lots of busy people cleaning them up the next day. Would definitely stay again.

Clean and in a great location. Staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Drop box to check out was appreciated

Our stay was pleasant and the owners were very considerate as they had left the heat pump on before our arrival so we got a comfortably warm room. It’s a very big facility and all rooms may be different, but the one we stayed in could definitely use some renovation. Especially the bathroom door, it was a sliding door but was on the carpet and made a loud creaking sound.

Lovely apartment with huge spa bath. Complimentary tea coffee and hot chocolate but.... the 300ml bottle of milk is only for the first night. You can have free wifi and chrome cast and lovely hot showers but will get told off for asking for milk on the 2nd day. The breakfast was delicious and the chef in the kitchen was friendly and helpful.

It was clean and had a huge spa bath and separate shower. It was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The buffet cooked breakfast included in the price was awesome. I will be going back.

Rooms are well maintained, spacious and beds are comfortable too. The amenities are good. Breakfast is yummy. Small restaurant but didn't mind at all. It was enough space to get around :) We will definitely come back x

Stayed 3 nights at this neat and tidy motel. It's walking distance to Taupō town centre and the lake. Breakfast is good hearty standard fare and staff are warm and friendly. Bathroom was a bit run down in our unit but it was very clean and workable.

Great location. Cleanliness lacking somewhat. A little tired, towel rails hanging off walls, dead bugs in bathroom window, tiles around kitchen sink area not properly finished, inside door frames not dusted for a long time. Tops of light switches not cleaned. The key to the room didn't work, took three attempts from staff to reprogramme it. A shame really for the location.

We have over the past fortnight stayed in many accommodations and by far Acapulco motor in has surpassed them all. 1/ value for money 2/ location....close enough to town yet located on a quite side road. 3/ very clean and well presented 4/a beautiful spa bath 5/ many little extras from dressing gowns/ slippers to 2 X 50 channel TVs 6/ well laid out spacious rooms 7/ Acapulco Motor In will be our go to accomodation when visiting Taupo. Great place to stay. Lovely clean studio unit and very quiet location, despite being so close to town,,which is an easy walk. Highly recommend and we are looking forward to returning.

I was really happy with my stay, especially with what I got for the price. I stayed in the one bedroom Whirlpool suite. Lovely spa bath and spacious unit with a lounge area and separate bedroom. Just a short walk to the lake and town centre. Will stay again.

Extremely comfortable and well cared for, Acapulco Motor Inn suited our stay in Taupo. PLUS, they have full Sky TV. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Very happy with our accommodation. The proprietors had kindly turned on the heating orior to our arrival. Very clean and com.

Excellent accommodation, way to cheap for quality provided. Room was preheated for us before we arrived, biscuits and plenty of teas. The spa certainly a great way to relax after a days driving. A pleasant surprise to find a motel that is up to standard, I should know as my job is to design them.

Great place the owners work hard for our custom well priced clean rooms great shower good variety of complementary tea and coffee we had the cooked breakfast very good. 1 Bedroom Family Room - Large bathroom bit awkward with 2 doors though (1 from lounge and 1 from Main Bedroom) Large open space in the lounge with 2 single beds. Downside the walls were thin and you could hear the water being used in the neighbouring rooms - every tap, every flush, every shower. Triple Studio with Spa - Much more modern and updated compared to the 1bedroom. For the price I would much prefer this room. Comfortable beds, clean and modern.

Great location. Wet room bathroom was great. Hot and good pressure shower. Small kitchen in room also a nice addition. Rooms are right on the car park but it did not feel like that at all once in the room. Sky sports was an excellent surprise! 10/10 would come again.

Nice place for family. We booked for 3 adults and 1 baby in 2 single beds and 1 double bed unit with a private bath tub. Good experience. Will come back if we go to Taupo again.

One of the best Motels I have stayed at great rooms we had a Spa Bath and shower unit! The Continental breakfast was excellent and people were great! It was super clean and well presented! Awesome!

Great place to stay, rooms immaculately cleaned and presented. Close to Lake and town, stayed here on two seperate occasions, first time bed great second time a bit too soft but no back ache. Drew in breakfast room lovely but a bit too chatty. Receptionist, relief manager and wife very professional and friendly. Very good value for money. Would visit again and recommend to all.

Our company held a conference at the Acapulco and booked rooms for 12 people. Robert, the manager, looked after us all extremely well. The service and cleanliness were exemplary and we will definitely return. Our guest speaker was very impressed too and will book the Acapulco for future events he is involved with. Highly recommend the venue for a small conference and clean, tidy accommodation close to the town.

3 star as we found the bed really quite uncomfortable, and being supposedly a 4-star hotel, it just felt dated. However, the rooms are a good size, with a kitchenette, and were clean. Location is quite close to the lake side and not far from town. I think it's summed up by saying if I had to stay in Taupo again, I'd try somewhere else before rushing back here.

I can only speak for the room we were given and I can honestly say it was clean, comfortable and staff were very accommodating. We slept very well, beds and pillows were excellent and very important to us. We will definitely be back and would recommend the, "Acapulco Motor Inn" , to anyone and everyone.

Good , clean and functional room @ a reasonable price. Close to town centre, so can stumble home without taxi. The good: water pressure in the shower was phenomenal. The bad: TV was in a poor position, so watching in bed was difficult.

Excellent one bedroom suite, neat and clean. The surprise element was the Jacuzzi spa in the bathroom. From linen, cleanliness and location absolutely fantastic for the price we paid.

A fantastic Motor Inn that is worth staying an extra day. Situated on a quiet street (you will never hear the fire station at the corner), this motor inn has all the amenities you actually need. There is a spa room that you can utilize. It's a magical thing after a hard day's driving. The beds are nice and firm, though the pillows are soft. TV works well and you can use the Chromecast to cast from your phone via the free Wi-Fi. Pro tip: use a QR scanner to activate the Chromecast rather than try and type in the password. Bathroom works well, with good shower pressure. It is a bit short though. If you can't get to the spa room, most rooms have a spa bath anyway. Staff are excellent and are very helpful and friendly. The cleaning staff ensures everything is clean and tidy to 5 star hotel standard. They are amazing. So sure it's not right in the Centre of Taupo or on the lake front, but these are close enough and you gain a peaceful night's sleep in comfortable surroundings that is great value for money.

Great value for money, Rooms were big and spacious, Clean, tidy, and well looked after, the spa bath was awesome! best part was the radio and light on the spa! Plenty of space for parking right outside your room. Would recommend to anyone!

Fantastic little motor Inn. Spotlessly clean and was far roomier than I anticipated. The bed was really comfortable. Heating in the room was a heat pump so you could control the temp really well. Highly recommend this place to stay in taupo.

Absolutely perfect staying at the Acapulco Motor Inn, loved the large spa bath to soak in just perfect after doing the Tongaraio crossing . The cooked hot breakfast was a good choice highly recommended. Many thanks Allan W.

We had a great time here. The room was large and every need that you may have thought about was covered in a handy guide book on the coffee table. This book covered WiFi passwords to discount adventures nearby. The manager was efficient and knew we were coming and anticipated with a very clean room.

Affordable and the rooms are clean and fairly modern. Air conditioning is definitely a plus. Never had a problem while staying here. It's within so walking distance to the lake side and a short drive to city centre. You don't get any road noice here either. One down fall though. The shower needs to be updated, if you're really short or really tall the shower head could be a pain as it doesn't move.

Really nice one bedroom room, nice size bathroom with an awesome spa bath. Little details like way towels and facecloths folded didnt go unnoticed. Perfect location too.

A few steps to one of the best lakes in the world yet far enough away to avoid traffic noise. Absolute professional staff from check in, room maintenance, breakfasts to checkout. So nice to have our personal spa without time of use restrictions

Really nice motel, has everything you need, comfortable stay

On 21 June 2020 I went online for a price for accommodation in Taupo. The the rate for this specific room was $ 102.87. As I was close to the motel I walked in and asked for a price and was quoted $ 127. I said to the lady at reception that the internet price was $ 102.87. I asked her if I needed to do it on the web as my phone was only a few metres away in my car. She then asked me if she must do it at reception or if I was rather to do it online. My understanding was that she could match the deal and I paid for the room with the undertanding that she was willing to match it. My credit card was used but I did not check my receipt at the time as it was all done in good faith. Later that afternoon I checked my credit card for something else and found that she did take of $ 127 and not $ 102.87 as my understanding was. I spoke to her at reception and asked if she could please adjust the price accordingly . She said that she could not do so as she thought that I was happy to pay the $ 127 as this was her understanding. I said to her that my understanding was that it was going to be $ 102.87 and if was $ 127 that I would have rather done it it online. We certainly at this stage seemed to have a different understanding of the issue and I do have to give her the benefit of doubt up to this stage. I asked if she could fix the price match to which she replied no and called her manager who refused to match the deal. If you look at the official website for this motel they clearly state that when you book direct with Acapalcu Motor Inn it is ALWAYS cheaper booking direct with them rather than through any website or agent. I also checked the price for a simelar room after coming back from reception for that night and found it to be $ 107 on your own website at that time. The sums certainly does not add it up in this instance. The stay apart from the way the price was good and it is a pity that something so small left a bad taste in my mouth. It was not the price difference off $ 25 but the way the matter was dealt with. I was happy to have donated the $ 25 to a charity of your choice if you were happy to refund me at the time. I also rang the head office of this motel being the Golden Chain Group and spoke to a lady who promised to either phone me in person or get the manager of this establishment to return my call but are still waiting for this to happen. ( I wanted to check or their price promise policy before posting this feedback)

It's a bit dated but clean and comfortable, great location just far enough away from the noise of town but close enough to walk to in close to 7mins. Friendly staff who are helpful. A decent breakfast provided if you don't want to do the walk, or you don't make it yourself.

Tidy&clean, bit dated some things could do with a bit of maintenance. There are private spas which are lovely after a long drive. Rooms are comfortable with heat pump and electric blankets. The kitchenette is ok. Staff were friendly and helpful

We were here for a conference. The facilities were good and the stagg were very nice. My only issue was the 1 toilet for over 20 people in the conference. Other than that would use again for a smaller conference.

Very clean and comfy room with all the basics plus aircon, which we greatly appreciated in the cooler weather! We have two Labradoodles (not small!) and had a Garden Studio so we could have them in the room with us. The "Garden" is shared by the other rooms, so they could not be let out unsupervised, but the dog friendly Lake front is a two minute walk away and there is a large grassy area across the road. Would definitely go back again!

Me an my partner booked and stayed here for the night we came all the way from Waikanae for a little get away for the night and we were very pleased with our experience the room was super clean and tidy on arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming and it is definitely great value for the price you pay we would definitely go back there again and would recommend to everyone it was super handy to the lake and shops aswell also very easy to locate 👍🏻😊 thankyou heaps to the staff

We had a 2 storey 3 bedroom apartment for 5 people, it was fantastic! Rates were reasons, room was we'll presented and clean. Would stay again!

Nice, cozy, charming small rooms. Good Inn to stay in whenever coming to Taupo. Very close proximity towards the water and restaurants. The breakfast is lacking but then again, what you expect from an inn?

Good motel for a stop over. Not luxury, but spa units well fitted. Short walk to waterfront n local English Pub. Ten min walk into town.

A good option to stay on Taupo, the beds are comfortable, the air conditioner works well and the private jacuzzi was very easy to use. However the wifi didn't always work and sometimes it was very slow. A very good place to stay for a short period of time.

Place is okay. Washer/dryer is NOT okay. I ran my clothes 5 times (2 $ each) in the 'dryer' and stuff was still wet. You could use the outside dryer if you have time and good weather though

For a cheap room stay very well appointed and no problem getting acquainted with staff .Cosy room too with wall heater and Sky...who needs more on a one night stay, and have their own restaurant too.

Good location, clean and tidy and all that you need. We stayed in the townhouse which has a big sign outside and floods the main bedroom with light all night such that you would think it was morning time. This was a bit of a let down.

I loved the idea of a secluded and care free location. Ample parking space foor all. If you don't like the parking near your room you can always park outside. The selection of tv channels were good as well from TCM to kids shows.

3bdr townhouse great sized area although 1 additional bathroom would have been better. Auto lighting in hallway would have been better as safer with stairs.

So we usually find this place amazing due to bedding arrangements as we travel for work and usually there us 4 of us however this time round we were placed in a room with a bed short so it's a pull out couch bed which is surprisingly harder then the floor and also had random stains on this fold out couch bed no extra bedding for this bed aswell we did mention there is 4 of us he said yes that's fine however I found myself on this uncomfortable bed with the thought of what could these random stains be?
