Only stayed for one night en route.... Beautifully cared for camp ground with lots of time, effort and love going into the garden!. Well done. Those little touches make all the difference 👍. Was warmly welcomed on arrival. When travelling alone, its really nice to feel that welcome from staff, or in this case, the lovely owners. To me, what puts a campground above others is if there is hedging/shrubs planted between campsites, or at least blocks of campsites, and I loved that about this place. Beautiful established trees, fantails chatting away.... So glad I found it, as the other campground I had checked out looked unappealing in comparison. A wee bit of traffic noise but nothing this fussy individual couldn't tolerate, and I did ask to have a site with few other people close by, as needed sleep, and that is exactly what I got. Great place to stay for a bit of peace and quiet. Price was also really really reasonable. Highly recommend staying here. 😀

Lovely clean and tidy facilities. Great to deal with when booking, emailing and upon arrival. Nice big sites, with lots of trees that gives a feeling of being amongst nature. Only negative for us was the road noise but being from a small seaside town we aren't use to this. Overall is an amazing place to stay!

Great holiday park with reasonable prices. Shower, toilet and kitchen facilities were clean and well appointed. Though I would recommend to the owners that the showers are hosed maybe a couple of times during the day during the busy season (we stayed over new years).

Had a 3 night stay. Well maintained and organised owner operated camp. Spotless facilities. Biked into city from the camp. Ate at the nearby Vietnamese eatery. Clotheslines catch the wind and washing dried in no time. Spacious sites.

Totally enjoyed my stay here for 4 nights the staff and management are fabulous they go out of their way for you . Very clean and prices are not to bad either next to others in the area. Not that far from Taupo town centre by car but out of the way to make this camp very quite , relaxing and enjoyable park like setting . I'd be very happy to stay here again. 🙂

Its good here you've got free wifi the only thing we couldn't get is our tv cause to many trees but the the trees are good to have keep the shade

Absolutely highly recommend this place! Lots of space for pitching a tent! Bathrooms and kitchen are super clean and tidy! More importantly, the staff are very understanding and reply within minutes online. So, you are guaranteed the support if you’re traveling long distance.

Reasonably priced for caravans. Plenty of room Nice size ablutions. Large caravan sites.

What a beautiful and quiet campground - even though it was busy, everyone was respectful and friendly. The proprietors have a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, with fantastic waste separation stations for recycling, and gorgeous flower gardens. If you like a shady site, ask to go beneath the gum trees around sites 9-12, and you'll be serenaded by korimako (bellbirds) for hours each morning and evening. One of the best campgrounds I've ever been to.

Great hosts, clean and regularly maintained property! It was nice and quiet after 10pm, which assured pleasant sleeping in my tent! I will be coming back for sure! :)

One of the best equipped campgrounds I've stayed in. Everything you could need if you're staying in a tent. Fully equipped kitchen (including cutlery, pots and pans) washing and drying machines, Wi-Fi and free hot showers. Amazing deal. The staff is the nicest. Will come back next time I visit Taupo!

A lovely relaxing place to stay. Close to the Lake in Taupo. A big bike ride around part of the lake was great exercise and then a picnic, also by the lake. Great day had by all.

We stayed in a standard cabin for one night. The room smelled really bad from poor ventilation. The only light in the room did not work. The door couldn't be locked from the inside. These were all minor issues that were fixed shortly after: we kept the windows open for half an hour before we moved in; the lovely owner replaced the light bulb for us; I locked the door from the outside using the room key and climbed back in through the small window.(Lucky that I'm a Hobbit) But all in all, this is not a holiday park that I would recommend or revisit.

Nice park but a bit pricey, you pay 48 dollars per night for 2 adults in a small, unpowered tent. Amenities are good and very clean. At the moment the spa is closed, which is a pity.

We had a lovely stay here and William made us very welcome on arrival, there are some lovely restaurants in the town which is only a 5 min drive away. Kitchen and living room were super tidy and had nice lovely table decorations, bathrooms were really clean and shower was nice and hot just how we like it. Would definitely recommend this place and definitely come back when we can.

I wish I could give 4.5! This is by FAR the cleanest holiday park we’ve been to and we’ve been to quite a few. You can tell that a lot of thoughtfulness has gone into every detail. The kitchen is huge, clean and has seating like a restaurant which is quite cute. There are also bbqs that are free to use as well as ample outdoor and undercover seating areas. The recycling is the most thorough I’ve ever seen. The grounds and simple but comfortable with a beautiful rose garden. There is a games room which was a lot of fun on a rainy evening. The gentleman that runs the park is so kind and helpful. He even let us borrow his tools. Just a all around great park! Would highly recommend to all. Thanks!

We loved this place! Clean, nice Team and you have plenty activities on your doorstep without beeing in the middle of the tourist Town. We enjoyed and stayed two nights longer!

Great place. Everything very clean and a great set of hosts. Stayed on the 22nd of September at their facility. The washing machine and dryer were clean as well. Paid $45 for a night with 10gb data, a campervan powered and 2 adults

Apart from a ten minute wait for reception to open (at about 5pm), our experience was good. Be aware that the dump station may be locked and you have to get the key from reception.

Very nice camp with helpful lady on reception. Really clean facilities. Big sites & appreciated the October discount, $20 cash, with power, excellent.

Well equipped camp that is spotlessly clean. The dump station is kept locked which is a bit inconvenient. The site we were assigned while level overall had lots of little bumps and hollows which need smoothing out. I would stay again.

Excellent kiwi park to park up your campervan Excellent place to park up your campervan after a long trip on the road. Staff were very friendly and helpful. All the facilities were close to our powered site and all free to use (Kitchen, Toilets, Showers, lounge). We stayed here twice after leaving Auckland to Wellington and then back to Auckland. We will definitely be staying here on next adventure. We totally recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a clean, quiet, relaxing kiwi park.

Nice place 5 mins from Taupo town. Has all the washing cooking facilities very clean and tidy. Has a little shop on site soft drinks and a small selection of food and other basic things you may need. If in a tent recommend you buy a 10 meter power lead 98$ from bunnings or other hardware store. Staff are very helpful. Play room with air hockey and video games table tennis and play park for the kids. TV room showers. Great place for camping.

Was a group football booking. Lots of options for 7-8 families. Warm, clean cabins. Kids loved the tramp and volleyball net. Outdoor bbq and table was perfect for our needs. Thank you for hosting.

We stay here on our way to the south Island every year and again on the way back home, we have also been here for a few days for a short break. The facilities are great we cannot fault them. I would recommend this nice quiet motor camp to anyone.

Just spent a weekend at Great Lake Holiday Park as a base for our Taupo trip. Staff very friendly, large powered site for our caravan and the abblution block very clean. Would definately recommend them and I will stay again.

Lovely campsite, owner was really helpful and swapped us to a site more suitable to us. Good facilities and handy to the town centre.

Would get top marks if not for the poor laundry machines, $4 for washer and $4 for the dryer that does not last long enough to dry the washing. After spending $8 we took our laundry to a laundrette in taupo to finish drying them.

Park is neat and tidy. I booked a powered site and they are twice as large as other parks. Very spacious. The park isnt within walking distance of the main town though. Probably a 5min drive away. So if you're looking for a quiet place this is for you.

Jesus there are stupid reviews on here!! Wheres the grass gone, umm it hasnt rained here in 6-8 weeks funny thing plants need water to grow!! And who uses ghds when camping around nz come on, maybe a hotel would be more suitable for some! You pay for you get and we got good friendly service clean facilities and a nice hot shower. Job done!!

Our first time in a campervan and using a holiday park. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were immaculate. Very nice place to stay

This is just an amazing place to stay. Very friendly owner and staff. You feel like home from the first moment. Everything is perfect. Nothing is missing. Thank you for the great time we had.

I just wish there was another kitchen at the top of the park, but that's just me being a little lazy. Otherwise it is a very well kept and tidy camp site, cannot comment on the cabins etc as we camped in our tent.

We have spent two nights at Great Lake Holiday Park and thoroughly enjoyed our time here! The owners and staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are clean and the showers are hot!

Stayed two nites for taupo concert and once again great service and our 1bedroom unite was clean comfy and well equipped for us 3 ladies. Staff was very helpful and friendly see you same time next year Vicki and thank you 😆

Love herbs growing used in BBQ cooking. Dish washing liquid and brushes provided for and cloths to wipe down after my use and tea towels amazing dining tables lovely flowers in vases and chairs as well. Need another lounge suite that's it. We made the most of the showers again cloth wipes provided.Awsum play ground park our granddaughter loved her time amongst the beautiful trees and freshair outdoors. Local beaches likeTe Moenga Bay gorgeous as. Autaia feeding the swan and duckies had lots of fun. Very friendly owner keeping recycling tidy as. Highly recommended will come again. Very clean and well maintained

Its $24 pp .. good size park.. lots wild rabbits.. kitchen, washrooms modern and clean with tv internet lounge and games lounge to relax in.. comfy sofas. Kitchen refitted with gas cooking hobs so way better and you get good free wifi.

Excellent value for money, facilities are spot on. Two arcade machines, pool table and air hockey in the games room too! Had a great time here.
