K.Last we stayed for our anniversary and we have stayed the following weekend with our child. We absolutely love it there its clean, welcoming, handy to have a kitchenette and situated in a lovely place. Hopefully going back again in March. Staff are helpful and friendly. All rooms have sky so caters for all the family. Fantastic place to stay. 🌟
G.I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sails on the Lake. Lovely quality, comfortable bed and pillows. Very clean. Beautiful view of the lake, which is straight across the road. Close to the shops. Lovely hosts and even their cat Ruby is very friendly and welcoming! This place is 10/10.

E.Will definitely be back! We stayed two nights. Friendly greeting on arrival. We stayed in the Spa Studio, which had a lovely balcony overlooking the lake. Room was warm, very clean, lovely big spa bath and shower. The bed was the comfiest I've slept on which is great for a motel stay. Highly recommend. Quiet and peaceful. Look forward to returning one day.

M.Our room had great views of the lake. Sunsets were amazing from our little patio! The room was big and had a nice spa tub with powerful jets. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was great. Staff was all very friendly. And of all of the hotels we've stayed in on this trip, our room here was the cleanest we've seen! We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
R.Stayed here for two nights. The rooms are a good size and well laid out with couch, armchair, table and chairs, balcony, and a kitchenette that's quite well appointed. The bed was comfortable and a little larger than a standard queen. Everywhere is clean. The staff are really friendly and nice. The views over the lake are fantastic. I'd really recommend this and would come back here.

S.Hi. Stayed here four nights. Beautiful view from our room looking to the lake and mountains. Cleaning staff were really good. Extraction fan in bathroom sounded like a diesel engine! Clean room but very basic.Over priced for what you get however, it's got the views so I guess they can charge whatever they want.

V.This place is great! The people who run it are brilliant, and dedicated to you having a great time in Taupo. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The room was huge and had everything we needed. It was a cold day when we arrived but the room had been pre-heated and we were very grateful for this. The bathroom was huge and contained both a shower and spa tub. We had a great view of the lake, and it was an easy wander or short drive for food and drinks.
J.The room is very clean and comfortable. We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed everything here. It is a lake-front motel, and you can access the lake just cross the street. Just wear your swimming suit and jump to the lake. The motel offers free laundry which is good for a family. Highly recommended.
F.Highly recommend this place to anyone travelling through north island in NZ. Owner helped us with all we needed to know about Taupo. Recommended us things to do. Hotel is in excellent condition, clean and tidy. Very convenient to shops and restaurants. Footsteps away from the water.
A.We arrived Friday, 15 November without a reservation. The staff went out of there way to help us out. The room was very comfortable with a balcony to take in the gorgeous lake.

H.This is a nice property, well located on the lakeside 15-20 minutes walk from the town centre and tour departure points. Our room was pleasant and pretty comfortable, but there is no heating in the bedroom or bathroom so could be a bit chilly at certain times of year (as Asian residents used to 30 degrees every day it was chilly for us in March!). Nice touch was a coffee plunger and decently ground coffee sachets. Patio area outside, or balcony on upper floor. The "One Bedroom Lake View Suite" I booked has the lake view blocked by cars parked both at the hotel and in the parking area across the street, so I would recommend requesting the same room on the upper floor which should provide a decent view. Pleasant owner, and nice place overall. Good value at the price we paid.
R.A nice place to stay, directly across the street from Lake Taupo. The room has all the essentials, and Sails is just a two-minute drive to the downtown area. They have a free washer/dryer that we used, and parking was just steps away from our door. The front wall is an all-black view of the lake. Very nice place.
S.We always stay here when in town. They offer is a discount as we go frequently for work, however, I'd be happy to stay for the normal rate. Operated by a couple who make you feel at home. They go above and beyond, even bringing our dry laundry to our room because it was storming out and they didn't want us to have to leave the comfort of our room. Beautiful views, with lots of space in the room. Beds are quite comfortable.

P.Lovely views of the lake , rooms had everything your could need, with lots of space. Hosts could not do enough for us and made us feel very welcome with our toddler. Would definitely recommend and we will be staying here again next time in Taupo.

D.Spotless clean and quiet - on the lake front and a couple of minutes drive from the city (walkable but a bit chilly in winter.) We had a ground level unit with 2 adults and 2 kids, so the single bedroom with the sofa bed in the lounge area was perfect.
R.Stayed for two nights in a room with sitting area and kitchenette. Room and bathroom we're nice and clean. Best was comfortable. Kitchen had enough in it to be useful and usable. Staff were really nice. Lovely view from the balcony.

I.5 Stars for friendliness, helpfulness and cleanliness. Thank you Mel, for such a lovely welcome and for being ever so helpful with all our queries. From helping us choose activities to do in the Taupo area .. to making sure we had towels, coffee etc (always with a cheerful word and smile). The Sails is so well situated. Just cross the road to have a lovely lakeside walk and then just a quick walk/drive into the city for a meal/shopping.

S.Very basic, practical and clean. Sofa bed is very uncomfortable You can feel every spring on your back. If you plan to use the laundry, keep in mind it closes at 8pm. This makes it hard when on holiday you maybe getting up early to get the day going, by the time you're done with yous day's activity, if you go eat, then you eint5have time to do laundry.
