This park has potentially so much to offer with amazing views of the bay and the National Park but is really under utilised. As it is the gateway to the marina where most of the sailing experiences start, I would have expected the council to allow more commercial use of the land. What an amazing place to have breakfast or dinner and take in the views. Don’t allow the grass and plants to be taken away, rather enhance. A really special place that could be so much more.

Great park, with lots of trees and open grassy areas. There are also plenty of swings, slides, climbing frames and play equipment for the children. Highlights include the chess set and the train. Beautifully located between the main shopping area of town and the lake at Acacia Bay. Plenty of parking nearby and the road outside is no longer crazy busy (back to just very busy) with the Taupo bypass around the eastern side of town.

Spent 2.5hrs hiking from the lower to upper circuit. The hike took us on a loop starting through the wilderness, before entering the woods, to the waterfall and back to the wilderness again. We managed to catch views of the snow capped mountains after the waterfall. We did the hike in June and it was really cold and windy.

Beautiful spot to stop by for an hour to have a break for a cuppa tea or coffee and kids will love playing in the playground and also get in to the scenic train that rounds around the area through stunning bushes and trees. Also there is a toilet namely SuperLoo that has parents room, showers and toilets but will need to pay for using the facilities, 50 cents for using toilets a d $2.5 for showers. There are lots of restaurants and bars just in front of this place on the other side of the road. We really enjoyed watching fantastic colors of autumn over there in June.

Well done Taupo Lions, the train was awesome. Grandparents, parents and kids all had a great ride on it. Something different and a great fundraiser for the club. The staff running it were lovely and very friendly with the kids.

Very nice lights on outside all night so well lite up. Nice clean toilets with auto lights it has gone up to $10 night per van instead of $6 per person but for someone on there own that works out more expensive but at least it will go topper bill and the tower museum 😀you can pay $15 per night that's for a powered site. Well worth it and you can look around the grounds while your there . Its alittle bit out of town but you can walk or cycle to town if you like to. 👍 Nice place well worth a visit.

Great location in town but looking really tired. Luckily a new playground is on the way. The toilets are free for under fives, but should be free for all families in this location. Too many trees and a bit cold and dark in the winter months and feels disconnected to the town with a main road next to it. Could learn a lot from Napier and their waterfront.

The playground is closed at the moment (for renovations as well as Covid.19) but it's an awesome playground & I would definitely recommend it along with the train rides 😃

Always a great place to stop when heading through Taupo. Has a public toilet (also has a shower if needed) there which you need to pay for so have some 50 cent prices handy though there is a free toilet a short walk down the road. Has swing for wheelchair. Lots of different things for the kids to do. Town is also right there also. There is a nice fish and chip shop just down the road also so can grab and eat at the park.

Amazing place to spend whole day and you will not regret it at all. This place has something for everyone and suitame for all the ages. During daytime you will see snow covered mount tongariro in the back of the lake taupo and during evening a beatiful sunset. A park is there for children to play around.

A relaxing place for the parents, a good place for a bite to eat for the family. A great little kids playground with a monster chess board and matching chess pieces. Great clean toilets and showrrs, but they cost to use.😡 not so good for the use of the toilets tho, they should be free.😉🤠

Absolutely fantastic green space with ample everyday parking, great to walk either yourself and your four legged family members, on leads only please(they even have poo bag dispensers). Also close to the foodies so buy a takeaway and sit, or bring your own. Access to the whalf to book lake adventures. Also has Train rides, an amphitheater, public toilets, information centre, and other public services.

Spacious park on Lake Taupo, small train ride for kids run by the local Lions Club. The play ground us good for kids, a bit old, but there were renovations been undertaken when we were there. Good amount of parking around, and close to shops and cafes.

This is also another beautiful place with full of scenic beauty like many other places in newzealand. We stay here and enjoyed the colour and beauty of so beautiful nature park with many artistic sculptures. Lake and forestry is also increased the beauty of the place. The trees will help to rehabilitate degraded environments, help wildlife thrive, and provide around 1,000 jobs.

Great park for the kids and plenty of space to relax while passing through. The public toilets have a small charge of .50c, however extremely tidy and the parents rooms is free if you have young children. The museum and rose gardens also just a short walk away.

Lovely place for kids. Kids are enjoying lots. There some facilities are available for kids to playing here. There are lots car parking available near this domain. You park your car in some place upto 150 minutes. This place got lots of sitting arrangements for domain traveler. They a toilet near this domain but only until 5:00pm after that you need use public toilet 500 mitres far from the kids playing. They got a swinger for wheelchair friendly access us well. So don’t worry about your kids who are using wheelchair they also can swing here.

This is located near Isite office Taupo and at edge of Taupo lake. They got a small you train for kids. The park is quite big and got a paid toilet at the park. There is a giant chess board in park for people to play which is quite unique concept. The park got lot off playing activities in the park. The park is very beautiful.

Place for scheduling different activities. I did the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and it was VERY well organized. Good guides, transport, tips and equipment. My guide Joe was pretty good at his job.

Taking the younger family members out was awesome. They had so much fun. It's just that the toilets are so stupid. Who really has to pay to go toilet. Yes I understand that there is a point to it, and truth be told I have no idea what the point is but I will still rant about it because really. No one takes their kid out and thinks ohh I better take my child toilet but I'll have to run to the car and get money out to pay for her/him. It's to late. They might as well soil themselves because of that. But I will apologise in advance just in case there really is a good point for having to pay for the toilets. Might be to pay for toilet paper or something, every cent counts right ??But still, really. Back to the playground. 👍👍 The train. Just awesome. Now you have to pay for that ride but it's so cool to see the younger children having fun. This man stands outside the tracks and gives every kid a high five when they go around and tells them to say yaye !! They loved him. The workers there are awesome. How sweet they are for the adults to ride with the children and just take them around the block and the kids hop off happy as can be. That's an awesome park. The rides are pretty neat. It's an all around playground for children and it's awesome. I can't really explain, it's really your choice to see if your sibblings, children or younger generation likes this particular park because my opinion doesn't count. It's the kids opinions that really matter, and their happiness is what I will be accounting the four stars for. Just awesome. They were happy playing there and when it was time to head home they decided at the last minute that they would try enjoy a little more fun before being dragged back home 😁 awesome playground guys.

Kids had a great time riding around, and the fact that it is all run by volunteers is amazing - a real great contribution to which I'm sure the community is very appreciative of! They also clearly liked doing it for the kids too - so a real win-win!

Awesome little park right on the waterfront in Taupo. Great playground for the kids to keep busy, the giant chess set is always a winner. With the super loo on site there are showers and clean toilets avalible. During school holidays and some weekend the minuture gauge rail way operates for the kids to take rides on the train. Just a short walk over the road to takeaways bars and the rest of the CBD, also has ample parking avalible. There is plenty of parking just for motor homes and caravans also.

Really nice centrally located park. Great place for an event. We participated in the 2017 Austin Healey rally and this location made it easy to get anything we wanted from the wide variety of shops nearby. Often parks are located so far away from amenities that you have to provide your own coffee and food vendors. This can be hard to organise if you have a smaller event.

Dropped sister off to catch bus. I believe there should be some immediate attention paid to sealing the areas around the bus shelters. The base around rubbish bins is inadequate like wise the shelters themselves. It obviiusly turns I to a mud whole at the first sign or rain. Shelters are too small if all passengers decide to shelter themselves and their luggage. The shelters provide good cover and a view of incoming transport.
