Fantastic camping ground. Has everything you need, large sites as we camped. There is cabins & units too. The staff were amazing & Kaleb the owner goes out of his way to make you feel welcome & ensure your happy. We Highly Recommend staying here. We extended our stay as we loved it so much.

We stayed for 6 weeks while working in Te Aroha. We found the facilities to be clean, tidy and well stocked. They were rejuvenating and updating the facilities during our stay but ensured that this did not, in any way, disturb or impact our time there.
The grounds are very park like with mature Oak trees mixed in with natives. Just a really good old fashioned campground.
The owners and their team are extremely friendly and helpful.
We highly recommend.

We decided to come to The Aroha holiday park on an impulse. Being from South Africa we are not used to the way camping is done in New Zealand. We planned on staying for two nights, but after the first night we decided to extend our stay. The staff here are so friendly and they treat people like family. We have felt welcome from the moment we parked and the Hangi they put up for New year's Day was an awesome experience. We will definitely be back in the future.

A short drive from Te Aroha nestled in the rural countryside sits a gem of peaceful tranquility. We loved the misty morning views of the mountain draped in clouds, the staff is top notch, unmatched service, friendly, helpful and courteous professionals. Dog friendly, private and peaceful with clean tidy facilities and beautiful views. Highly recommended and will stay here again anytime without hesitation. Room for large vehicles and plenty of cabin and camping areas.

5 🌟. Went there after one night at another place 25 minutes down the road we didn't like. This place was small, quiet, had pools and birds...feather kind that is. The family that owns it made us welcome and it was really wonderful under the trees.
The toilets were clean no brown water, good internet and there was ponys next door. Occasionally you would hear acorns dropping from the tree above onto a roof but nothing else.
No radios, no trucks, nothing but the wind through the trees. Good parking and abit difficult for wheelchairs but durable. Wide toilets. The young family took over the property a year or two ago. Very lovely place. Planning to stay there again and again.
A must if you going to stay in this part of NZ.

Love staying here.
Caleb and his wife Marianne, have been so wonderful.
They are just such beautiful people.
There staff are so friendly and funny and kind.

We came to Te Aroha holiday park for a temporary stay and we loved it so much we stayed for 4 weeks! Lovely peaceful atmosphere, amazing helpful friendly staff, clean and tidy facilities, close to town and attractions. Loved the rural views and the animals. All I can say is anytime in the future that we come through this way, we will be staying here again.

Great stay. I missed office hours on arrival and checkout. But was contacted with very easy instructions as to what to do and where to go and it was all very quick and easy. The room was already heated for me and clean and tidy. The toilet block was also very clean. Cool playground although the flying fox seemed out of order which was a shame. Will definitely be back in the summer when the pool is open.
P.
New owners cleaning up but all takes time. Very hot and no airflow through little cabins. Late campers not respectful to others. Ana did not allow this.
R.
Very kik back, friendly people.
Enjoyed pools thermal hot pool.
Totally agree and will be going back again.
very clean Tidy kitchen..👌Always appreciate clean toilets shower.
Top Marks to the cleaner...👍10..
Big uppz Thankz Te Aroha Hoilday Park....🏞️

Such a beautiful spot with views of the mountain, miniature horses surrounding! Recently under new management but can see they're really making the effort to turn it around from the last owner. Super lovely manager. Very clean, tidy, quiet and calm. Stayed at campsite. Had free WiFi, basic kitchen, showers etc and power. Also had a variety of cabins etc available. But perfect for me as wanting a safe quiet spot for my campervan. Not too far from rail trail and cute te aroha town. also has a small mineral hot pool which is on every night!
T.
I stayed here with a friend. The facilities were all working fine. There are new owners who are clearly trying hard to improve the property. Don't write it off, give it a go.
m.
We stayed here for 3 amazing days. The facilities were clean tidy & comfortable. This would be amazing if you have younger kids, as there is a adventure park with a sway bridge flying fox & giant nets.
For the more chilled out visitors like myself the views of the mountains are Awesome. I would come back to this Beautiful park again in a heart beat. Thank you Te Aroha Camp Grounds, yous have done yourselves proud. 5 Star Service🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍.
C.
Thank you for our stay, I must say these were the cleanest showers at a campground I have seen in a while so thank you for that, everyone was friendly, space was comfy.
K.
Sadly it was not what I had hoped for... Had been trying to stay here since last Feb (100% the hot springs that attracted me here). Hot pool was size of a normal home spa and open for 1 hour per day ☹️ Also the bunk situation wasn't ideal. If there is new management, good luck, you have something great to work with 🙂 but definitely need to take "hot springs" out of your name. 100% love the fact that I could bring my puppy for the stay. Will be back for that and also the local hot springs are amongst the best I've ever used 👍
L.
Great relaxing place lovely staff that allways aim to please and willing to help make your stay a happy stay so relaxing under the trees on powered sites great place to bring your dog to
D.
We stayed there, before New owner. Cabin was awesome clean an tidy. But did over 1000.00 dollars damage to back of car. No lighting to right down the back. Reversed into a bollard didn't even see it. Needs doing up the roads around the park. Enjoyed staying but turned into expensive night.
M.
Great place to stay. We arrived late and an easy to read to map and key was left out for us with details on how to get to our cabin. We have 2 toddlers and there was plenty of room for two portacots to fit in the possum cabin. A beautiful sunrise rises over the kaimais and the playground here is awesome. Its our second time here and will deffinately be back again. A++
K.
Great for over 7years old children. My kids loved the playground and the flying fox. Clean toilets and shower. However, the kitchen needs to be cleaned.
H.
We stayed a night with our young boys & it had everything we needed. The playground was amazing, the boys didn't want to leave. Our cottage was very cute & so quiet. Comfy beds. Woke up to cows right outside our window.
S.
Awesome play structure – a big slide, and a bunch of really fun obstacles. And a trampoline. :-) Plus the zip line.
The camping area had level ground, beautiful green grass and views of the mountain.
This is a smaller park — not a lot of spots, which we liked compared to many of the bigger holiday parks.
The bathroom was clean with good water pressure. The kitchen was a little older, but everything you need to make dinner.
Owners were very nice.
R.
We found the new owners who had taken over this park in Dec are most obliging and can see that they are achieving improvements at a great rate. Great stay.
E.
Last minute booking and we were grateful to find a place as it was raining hard and dark. Paid for a self contained unit. Basic, but clean and tidy. Bed comfortable, but shower not so good. Would have been nice to have had better towels and some toiletries supplied as there was only a small hard soap. The lady had put the heater on prior to our arrival, so room was toasty warm. Would probably come again.
L.
Very thanks lovely reception staff. I got so great information of town.
Cozy, quiet camping ground.
R.
This holiday park has recently changed ownership. The first time in about 30 years. The current managers since 1 Dec 2020 have already made seriously significant improvements to the booking system and some of the previous confusions are clearing from the Park's now updated systems. Historically the Park was well patronised and return bookings were the Park's mainstay. The new management team have targeted this feature of the Park's history as something worth striving for. In due time there will be a complete makeover, naturally this is a work in progress. Watch this space for further developments. The star rating is fully expected to increase swiftly.
A.
We had a wonderful stay with our caravan in early May. Kitchen was well equipped, spacious, and clean. Upon notice, the hairdryer in the bathroom was fixed immediately, so that also works. The adventure playground for kids was also enjoyable for us three young adults. Best campsite in NZ so far! We also received a free upgrade from non-powered to powered site.
G.
Decent place to spend a night. Our cabin was comfortable and had a TV and kitchenette. Hot pool was only big enough for 3 adults. WiFi didn't really work. The ropes and swings course would be great for older kids.
A.
The staff were super friendly and the accommodation was just as advertised. It worked well for what we needed, very clean and tidy. I would stay here again.
S.
Friendly welcome however powered sites should be allocated as guests arrive, not be told we can choose any site because we did then went to town came back and had to tell the people to move.
Great value for money. Pool was lovely and refreshing even if the poolside surroundings aren't. I can imagine the spa would be nice too.
Toilets and showers were spotless to the point where I felt guilty leaving my wet sandal marks on the floor. However one of the cubicles had run out of toilet paper and borrowed one from next door.
Kitchen and fridges were clean dated but clean.
This was our 2nd visit to this lovely farm like rural grounds and yes we would happily recommend and come back again.
L.
The lounge was nice, it had a piano and books and a pool table (I think you have to rent the balls though) I did laundry here and it was good 4/5$ per load and I hung them to dry. There was eggs sold at the front by the roaming chickens they were nice! Very peaceful place with a nice pool and very well cleaned.
Only the kitchen had flies and their bug zapper was broken. I couldn't get the power on my site to work but it wasn't a big deal and I forgot to ask.
I recommend for families to come here as I saw the ones had fins on the playgrounds.
Very friendly and kind staff.
B.
Had some interesting cool features
Sadly the room was ridiculously small walk in wardrobe size., wifi as advertised was so poor we couldnt get it too work. The tea mugs were badly stained and most of it wasnt clean.
On a good note there was a good atmosphere the kids play area was excellent fun .
The place needs some love and I feel the owners have grown tired of the place.
This is only my opinion
J.
TE Aroha holiday park, great location, spotlessly clean cabin, (poppy) has a private spa connected To It, I'll definitely be back, great kids play areas with a flying fox, well stocked cabin. Awesome location for the Hauraki cycle rail trail.
s.
We had a lovely stay for one night in a cabin. Super friendly and helpful managing couple. Thank you so much, we will be back.
J.
I have stayed here several times before - and it is always a delight to return to such a well-run, well-maintained site with hardworking staff. This time was a little different as I ended up being here through the Level Four lockdown. Anna and her team work so hard to keep the grounds, uits and communal areas spotless. I have felt safe throughout the lockdown having witnessed for myself the rigorous, dailyleaning schedule. Anna also checks regularly with her guests that everything is going well with them. She is warm and friendly. The grounds are spectacular at the moment with old oak trees resplendent in the autumnal colours. This is a camping ground well worth visiting - the facilities are spotless and the staff and management approachable and welcoming.
B.
We stayed there for three nights and enjoyed every single night when we were there. Our cottage was nicely located, in fact it was right next to the horse paddock making it more 'farm' feel. the room inside was clean and tidy, the beds were nice and had no funny smell.
the play ground was also perfect and the kids loved it.
We'll definitely stay in Te Aroha Holiday Park again whenever we visit Te Aroha.
Thanks Anna for being a lovely host.
L.
Very pleasant and helpful and ablidgeing staff.
Very peaceful and tidy with a relaxing ambience.
A.
Really nice spot. Loved the little cottages and playground is great. The couch bed is definitely not suitable for sleeping on. A little tired could do with a fresh lik of paint here and there and spa pool is not what I expected. But all in all lovely.
S.
Room was clean. Beds were comfy. Fridge didnt work/couldnt plug it in. Needs soundproofing between rooms as got keept up till 3:30 from neighbours with their music and car full of visitors that turned up around 11pm. No phone number to ring office to let them know. Kids loved the adventure play ground
L.
Stayed there on our travels through beautiful New Zealand. Our children loved that they could roam about after staying in city hotels. They enjoyed playing in the play areas. Friendly assistance and a relaxed atmosphere. Recommend.
M.
Cheap and quiet. We didn't get the room we booked, got moved to another room, which didn't even have 4 beds (it had a mattress on the floor, and the receptionist asked us if we have a sleeping bag instead). The shared bathroom can be very cold in the evenings/morning. Pool was out of service, gaming room locked. The windows cannot be fully closed, the room itself could have been cleaner. WiFi signal and speed are poor. Overall, you get what you pay for, we only stayed for one night being in the middle of a road trip, so no regrets.
t.
This is a return visit for us and we would gladly come again. Not the newest facilities but they are well looked after and are extremely clean. Camp boasts cabins and camp sites, pools and spa pool and a pretty awesome kids playground. All this in a quiet secluded area plus free wi-fi!
B.
Got an awesome bach for fair price. In short distance of hot pools, a geyser, walking trails, wildlife areas, bike trails. Cool ropes area for the kids to play at too. Peaceful and beautiful.
M.
I had a budget cabin and it served its purpose for the night. The bed on the bottom bunk needed some TLC to make it comfy and in the end I did just that and had a good nights sleep. The shower was awesome and well equipped bathroom facilities.
J.
Plenty of trees for shade and to protect from the rain if camping. Loads to do for kids. Showers and internet free, and there was some pots and pans to use in the kitchen. Right next to the main road so a little bit noisy.
G.
A wonderfully relaxed and welcoming park, we stayed in a self contained cottage with a comfortable cotton sheeted bed ,and wooden floors..glad to see no plastic! Convenient for Te Aroha , shopping and eating out. With a good network of roads for cycling and avoiding state highways!
R.
I don't understand the previous bad reviews. Or the owners have picked up their game in the last couple of years. We have had no problems. The place is well maintained and the cabin is nice. Best of all they're OK with pets and my dog has enjoyed our stay as much as I have. The location is amazing. Te Aroha township is close for shopping and supplies and there are lots of beautiful places near by to explore. If you want to go somewhere nice, friendly and peaceful away from the rat race come here.
J.
Good, basic country camping. Nothing fancy, bathrooms clean, new owners/hosts friendly & working hard to make it a pleasant stay.
F.
There's a flying fox which my son loves. I like the natural playground too. Nice view of mountains. Only thing is there's a lot of mosquitoes n insects in the area. Toilet can be cleaner and should have a fully closed door to protect bathers from the cold. Also love the free 24 hours wifi; a priority for a city girl like me.
S.
First family holiday away for us and we LOVED it here! Every morning kids played at the playground, every afternoon we hung out at the pools! Cheapest place we could find for a family of 6 and would definitely stay here again! Thank you Anna and team!
K.
The tourist flat is great except the fold out couch was really uncomfortable for one of our kids. The games room was locked 24/7 and the WIFI didn't work well. The playground is fun for the kids. I don't know where the hot spring was.
D.
The site is located in a beautiful area however if you have a big caravan or RV and a dog you have a very tight access to get to the designated spots with hook up. So tight I damaged my caravan at 7m long.
S.
We stayed in a tent site for one night. Facilities were adequate although a little tired in appearance. My biggest beef was the fact that you had to pay a deposit to access the recreational room. This is the only time I have come across this stupid arrangement in a campground. The consequence was that everyone gathered in the kitchen that night to read and talk and noone was seen to use the recreation room. What is the sense of having a room that is so hard to use?
G.
Adequate but antiquated. Kids loved the flying fox and playground. Pool needed seating and shade. Cabin we stayed in was tired. For the price of a motel room elsewhere we expected a bit more.
M.
An odd little place.its tired, not been kept up to date but very green private spots. very clean though tired bathroom biggest negative...hopeless water pressure..shower lovely and hot but no pressure. I am not into glitzy fun world parks..i would use it another time
R.
Great spot if traveling with sociable animals. Booked with Expedia wrong date, still offered me a room/ upgrade. Had pet along but hadn't had OK confirm, no problems on-site. I'll be back for a weekend soon
R.
Under new management. Tons of work to be done but it will happen. Great 2 b bak a great place to be 4 a good long weekend stay. Best of luck to the new management.
S.
Very good accommodation in a beautiful rural setting. However, we thought we paid for a two-bedroom cottage, but we ended up in a one bedroom cottage. However, everything else was wonderful
x.
A group of us stayed recently for a weekend exploring the Hauraki Trails. My husband and I stayed in one of the standard cabins. Had everything we needed, very reasonably priced. Hosts very friendly, and the place reminescent of holidays as a kid. The highlight was seeing the amazing playground being enjoyed by the children.
G.
Idyllic setting for a peaceful & quiet escape. Affordable, private rooms set on a large common area, with views up into the ranges. We will definitely be using this campground as our base, when exploring the area. Many thanks to management.
B.
Had a good deal on CamperMate for a powered site, $15/person, facilities were ok, nothing spectacular. Poured rain while we were there and the field where we parked was basically a giant puddle but that is to be expected I guess. Ultimately did the trick but probably wouldn't go back without another deal.
J.
I have stayed here several times before - and it is always a delight to return to such a well-run, well-maintained site with hardworking staff. This time was a little different as I ended up being here through the Level Four lockdown. …

Unit 2 was well appointed, clean and very comfy beds. Balcony and deck was an added bonus. Playground was awesome.
B.

Small nice campground, hiwever amenities needs refreshing. Also we have nott been impressed by the prices.
A.
Fantastic place to stay. Nice and quiet, and the management team are super helpful and friendly, cant wait to come up north again to stay
J.
Pretty views but a bit tight for a larger RV. Make sure to check out on time or you will be hurried along. Hot pool much smaller than expected. And bring some aerogard for the mosquitos.
H.
All in all good. Even the cheapest 50-Dollar-Cabins have Fridges, Flat-TV's, Toaster and Watercooker. Theres a big adventure/climbing-Park 4free, even some Stepper, very lovley and familyfriendly. Nice Staff. Just bathroom a bit dirty, and no usable stuff in the Kitchen. Just some butterknifes and very old, damaged Pans.
D.
Stopped off in our motorhome while visiting Te Aroha, friendly welcome at office all amenities nice and clean no extra charge for showers or internet. A nice quiet and pleasant place to stay.
A.
We absolutely love it here! This is the first time we've stayed at a holiday park and found it very affordable and child-friendly. We've already stayed twice and will definitely be back!
J.
As a professional housesitter who regularly travels the length of New Zealand, I consider myself fairly well-informed when it comes to the amenities and environment of our holiday parks. Te Aroha Holiday Park is a stand out destination for a number of reasons. I have stayed there on several occasions and always look forward to a warm and professional welcome from the owner who is simply a delight to deal with. The grounds are well tended and have a wonderful display of whakairo (Maori carving) throughout - complimented by beautiful, established oak trees. There are excellent facilities for soakers, children and swimmers! This is all topped off by immaculate and charming cabins offered at an extremely affordable rate. There are not - take it from me - too many other New Zealand camps that offer such excellence across all facilities. Treat yourself and visit Te Aroha Holiday Park!
l.
We camped here in the middle of winter. Despite the rain and wind this holiday park offered comfort. Hot showers a cosy tV room and lounge and relaxing session in the hot pool.
D.
Good camp to stay at if you are doing the rail trail ride or karangahape gorge walks. Try The Refinery Cafe in paeroa for a step back in time for decor but great food.
C.
I had a very comfortable stay, everything was spotless, a safe place amongst mature trees. Hosts are always helpful
X.
It was nice to stay in holiday park. Great cabin. Nice staff. Really clean shower and toilet. Highly recommend.
P.
Good Wi-Fi, friendly receptionists, nice quiet park! The bathrooms are a bit old fashioned, but that really isn't an issue! Would definitely come back
B.
Very Nice place with good facilities and beautifull outside garden. Playground area for kids was verygood, they enjoyed a lot.
The staff is very helpfull and friendly.
The accoodation and common area is clean.

M.
Small nice campground, hiwever amenities needs refreshing. Also we have nott been impressed by the prices.
D.
Very serene in a country setting and the accommodation was good.
Would have been nice to get complimentary milk with the free tea & coffee, and have a jug for water.
h.
Unit 2 was well appointed, clean and very comfy beds. Balcony and deck was an added bonus. Playground was awesome.
D.
Lovely grounds. Facilities run down, though generally clean. Take your own water, water is salty/suphery in taste and smell. Nice spot.
J.

S.
Good clean toilets and showers. First powered site I went to didnt work and there was some dog poo on site but otherwise it was good.
M.
Very sceptical receptionist but for a day camp out, it had all the required facilities. Could be managed better through bug spray and cleaning
G.

(Translated) Very nice, idyllic place. You are surrounded by cows and little ponies. The sanitary facilities are a bit older but clean. The pool was empty when we were there. However, it was a rainy day in the postseason.

(Translated) We stayed in a lodge for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The park is very quiet and full of beautiful flowers - the owners seem to be gifted gardeners. The lodge was very clean and simply but lovingly furnished. The kitchen was furnished with all the necessary crockery and kitchen utensils. Under no circumstances should you miss the evening bathing in the park's hot pool to relax your muscles after a long day.
